Hi there, I got S4 from Verizon, and im using it in europe, lets say that phone is unlocked for using other SIM card (non verizon),
My question is, can i flash it with stock verzion 4.2 (now im using Hyperdrive rom) with odin, and than do the OTA update to 4.3?
Of Course i dont want to lock my phone to verizon SIM... can that happen with OTA update?

None of the stock updates have blocked the use of non-Verizon SIMs. If you are still on build MDK, there's ROMs available with 4.3 that won't cause your bootloader to be updated - you should consider that.
Baseband - I545VRUAMDK, Bulild number - I545VRUAME7...
Now im on Hyperdrive Rom - RLS10
Once i did flash the stock system with odin 4.2 version, and i didnt lock my phone.
Which ROM is based od 4.3 ?
Thank u guys

Did you try Kingo Root? I just got an S4 zoom last week and I rooted it fine with Kingo Root. I just had to let it run for a few minutes and allow it to restart quite a few times until it asked me to accept to root. I used Kingo Root on an S4 I previously owned and it also worked fine. I even un-rooted a few times and re-rooted and it worked fine on the S4 normal =).
i dont trust this root method.
some say its a virus.

Some old news about it did say it was a virus or that it contained some Chinese spy software (vRoot or something) but I believe they removed it or never had it, I forget which one. I just know that I never had a problem with it so far.
Think i used safe root & disable knox

I see thanks I have the AT&T SM-C105A and am trying to find a way to root
I'd be careful with the C105A AT&T version. Nobody outside of AT&T has the firmware and you cannot flash any other C105A firmware to it. On top of that is the stupid AT&T check that essentially soft bricks the phone if the check fails.

just use kingoroot and everything will be done. There is no virus in the software. they do not store your info. They just root your phone and away you go. get it from http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root/download.htm

actually you can flash the mexico Telcel firmware found at Sammobile as the mexico version is still the same model and still uses AT&T LTE service
Do some more research you will find it
Edit:
Here is the Link:
C105AUBUAND1 Sammobile link Here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=28254 Know that Sammobile is having problems with their servers so download will be slow.
My guess would be that only the ASPN's may be different. So right dow your ASPN's from your existing firmware then if different change them back after flash.
That is the same firmware I tried to undo the soft brick (ATT unauthorized software lock), it would not flash.
My Note 3 was pushed the Lollipop upgrade. I avoided clicking OK to give permission but after a week it upgraded by itself (interesting...?)
This is bad news for me as I need international sim unlock - which I got via SUU app on kitkat - but now that doesn't work
Also GPS accuracy has suffered and my widget for turning 'Mobile Data' on/off don't work...now it's a 4 tap process (a reaaaaal pain in the neck)
I can put of with the GPS and 'Mobile Data' widget issue (for now), but I REALLY (!) need international sim unlock (sprint refuses to unlock it!) and SUU app is not working on Lollipop.
It seems a root is my best option(I've never rooted), as well as making sure modems go back to a previous version also (not sure which version). What's my simplest course of action to minimize risk of bricking and do a simple 'one touch' root that will allow me to unlock international sim use (domestic US unlock would be nice also! )
Any help is appreciated or a link to specific thread. (Travelling internationally very soon so need to WORK IT OUT ASAP)
If it was unlocked before, your good to go. Oden the m4j modem and do the rest and the apns. Worked for me.
The GT app will be updated for lollipop so the international unlock will work, says the Dev.
but with lollipop i got an error msg when i used SUU. i assumed it didnt work and theres no safe way to know until youre overseas.
And what did you mean with Oden mj4, and do the rest and the apns? 3 different steps...can you please elaborate. Thx.
And the GT app ?
So it worked for you. And what about domestic sim unlock ?
Thx again, Sammy

I ran the ssu app before lollipop and it " Sticks !" I've odened back to KK to take the Ota lollipop, I've used oden to install lollipop, and have flashed CM 12 none of that undid the unlock.
I am in the US on TMoble network with a ting.com sim and the MJ4 radio with the right apns every thing working great. The rest of the steps are the settings in the HiddenMenu.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593305
Easy to do just follow the steps.
The GT app is another program that did/will do the international unlock and a whole lot more. Dev says he's updating it for lollipop.
Thanks for all this.
Does me having a SPRINT note 3 make a difference (as opposed to your t-mobile)
And where did you get the sotck, KK, lolliops and the CM12 roms - here on XDA or elswhere ?
is the MJ4 the same for sprint as it is for t-mobile.
I assume you did the domestic unlock and all works well ?
Thanks again

Hi,
I have been having trouble with Odin on my T-mobile S5. Only now I realized that my model is SM-G900T3, not samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900T. So I can't flash ROM posted as they are for 900T, not 900T3.
Is there a repository for T3 ROM?
Or is there a way for me to use T ROM instead? The developer option has "OEM unlocking" but I am not certain what it does.
Thanks

That's probably why you're having so much trouble trying to get on KitKat. The SM-G900T3 was never officially on KitKat, just lollipop (5.1.1)
It has only 5.1.1 ROM -- I guess the model came out later than G900T and only has 5.1.1 ROM
Is the bootloader locked?
I've seen post that people installed CM ROM for G900T on G900T3 successfully. Does anyone know if I can flash stock rooted deodexed G900T ROM on G900T3 with TWRP?
Thanks

Yes you can. I'm in possession of a g900t3 and I can install any and all of the t-mobile TouchWiz roms. It's the same firmware as the g900t, I guess it's just a newer manufactured model.
Edit, bootloader doesn't seem locked, but there is an option in developer options to unlock bootloader anyways

It seems 900T3 will fail to boot up with 900T ROM. Have you tried it?
Thanks
Yes. I'm actively running vison-x OL1 rom. Was running the de-odex stock rom till I f'd it up messing with permissions. Both work no problems
---------- Post added at 08:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:20 PM ----------
I got my replacement phone from tmoible store, backplate has AT&T logo.. lol. So much for that. I switched with my old sprint backplate so it has no company logo. But yes, I've worked it with tmobile roms, no problems at all. No reason to goto kitkat unless u r trying to unlock all frequencies. Tmobile works in the basement where I work, sprint s5 didn't get s*** for signal there
What are the steps to install the G900T ROM? Thanks
Sorry for such a delay, I've been having serious health problems. Before changing roms or rooting, enter developer settings and click he "unlock" bootloader option. Then you can use the same rooting techniques as the g900t. Use Odin to flash TWRP 3.0.0-0 recovery, then reboot to recovery and make a nandroid backup. Download whatever g900t rom you would like, and flash away. I am personally using the Vision-X rom from 3-4-16. Once you have the recovery installed and have a backup of stock rom, you are good to go. And you can Odin flash any g900t baseband, modem and it will work. Even kernels from the g900t can be used, flash them thru recovery. When TWRP asks to help root your phone, deny it at all times. It seems to f up the root on the custom roms that come pre-rooted already
Sorry for necro bump but is it confirmed that the T3 version bootloader is unlocked? And you can simply load CM/Lineage as you would a regular G900T? Thanks.

if Odin fails during the Custom Rom Install and you have a ROM that is compatible with the T3 model from sammobile, then yes it is locked, if it proceeds and passes, then no the bootloader isnt locked. bear in mind it is normally that AT&T and Verizon who lock down their bootloaders to prevent downgrading

As far as flashing roms goes, there's no difference between the G900T & G900T3. If you're flashing firmware, however, there is a difference, Odin won't let you flash a G900T firmware image onto a G900T3, and vice versa. I own both a G900T & a G900T3. If you're buying a used/refurb, you're better off with the T3 because it's newer. When new firmware is published, I flash both phones with their respective firmware (V1 for the 900T, V3 for the 900T3), then the 900T is rooted but otherwise stays stock, and the 900T3 is flashed with a deodexed rom, all of which seem to be built from the V1 firmware and which work fine on the T3. Whatever the difference is, it seems to be in either the modem and/or the bootloader, and it's minor enough that it doesn't effect the booting of the rom.

I don't know how to make it any clearer. You can run any rom on a G900T3. I've yet to find one that doesn't boot. I'm currently running the G900T3UVS3GPK3 firmware on a G900T3 with the Resurrection Remix rom which is based on the official Lineage OS 14.X.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I don't know why anyone would bother with the S6 or S7, although I do have to say the S7 looks pretty sexy.
I got mine new from B&H Photo directly at their Manhattan store since they sell the T-Mobile model new and unlocked (they open the box, unlock it, and put it back in all without touching the battery as I was explained). Only difference I notice is that the battery door is now truly plastic for the black model instead of being a rubber type material as they originally were (I owned one when it was first released, so I remember). Heat seems to be another difference, and it is more easily felt with the plastic back. Battery seems to also suck alot more than the first ones, but I read that this is a Lollipop and Marshmallow problem, and the heat it added.
Other than firmware, does anybody know any OTHER differences? 3DMark fails to recognize it.
