Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 on CM11 (even updated to latest nightly)
I had an issue pop up where the "Message Not Sent" notification would keep popping up. I would hit it, but it would bring me to the main text message list (I use the stock text message app) and not bring up the message. I downloaded Handcent which allowed me to see undelivered messages, and deleted it from there (it was a blank message, no recipient number, not message).
Thought that would fix it. But, the "Message Not Sent" notification keeps popping up everytime I open the stock text messaging app. If I open the app, open a conversation in the app, etc. If the notification isn't up, it will then show it everytime. I have to constantly go to Handcent and delete the undelivered message to clear the notification (until I next open the app, or the Messaging app gets a new message or it randomly gets the notification again during the day)
I was on the CM11 September Snapshot. I updated to the most recently nightly to see if that would help. But didn't help. It just started happening out of the blue. I thought about going to settings > Apps > Messaging > Clear Data. But I didn't want to lose all my text messages.
Any ideas?

So for whatever reason, whenever I text my bestfriend (only happens for his contact so far), the message I sent does not appear threaded into the message stream. I "create new message" and send something to him, and I get the screen that should have all our messages back and forth, but it is 100% blank. Anything he sends back to me threads in another message also under his contact info, but none of my responses will appear.
So far this is only happening to this one contact, any thoughts?
I dont have this problem with Handcent.
I just wiped my phone and installed an updated version of my rom (EVO 4g and Mik rom). I used the default messaging app to make a backup of all my txt messages. Did my wipe and install. After booting back up I used the default messaging app to restore all the messages. Looks ok in the default app, but in handcent, it's showing me the oldest message first and I have to click on 'show earlier messages' to see the newer messages.
It's got them all marked with the correct dates. Anyone have any idea how to get it to display them correctly with the newest messages displayed on the bottom and clicking 'showing earlier messages' will pull up the older messages, not the newer?
Why is it that when I change "Call Logs" "View by" to "All Calls" it changes it back. I close and reopen and everything is there again instead of just calls. (like text messages etc). Also for some reason I changed my contact list to not show contacts from this app called "voxer" but same as call logs everytime i exit that phone book. and reopen they are back. Its like everything changes back..
I'm having the same problem.
A friend of mine with an S2 said the preference doesn't save and you need to use a different dialler/phone application.
I have recently purchased an S3 and I am quite happy with it except it is showing one unread message and when you open messages there is not any unread messages.
I have managed to clear it by rebooting my phone and then when I receive another SMS it goes back one unread even though I have read.
How do I clear this annoyance.

Are you using the stock messaging app? I bet you're not... If you have a third-party SMS app, the stock messaging app will continue to register and notify about new messages received, even if they've been read in the third-party app.
To resolve this, just switch off notifications in the stock messaging app.
This is a bug in the firmware, it has been fixed you just need to wait for the OTA to be pushed to your phone

No. This is a problem with some S3s. Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705015
My colleague had this issue and I played around with it on Friday without success but she says that the issue was resolved on Friday and she has received several messages and calls but the 1 is not stuck on the icon after reading the message anymore. I am at a loss as to what I did...
I started noticing a slowdown on my LG V20 in the last week or 2. It was very random. I believe it is because I have about 57,000 text messages.
I do not need 57,000 text messages. I normally use Chomp or Textra apps. At this time, some text messages started to not come through to me. For example, my boss texted me and then called me later when I did not respond. Screenshots show she sent the text but I never received it. This happens rarely, but has happened with my sister and my wife as well.
I loaded the default AT&T text message and asked it to truncate all converstaions at 1000 messages per thread (I have 2 threads over 12000 messages). It was unable to do it. I then installed Textra again and asked it to do the same thing - it could not delete old messages or keep conversations at 1000. However, Textra shows some of the dropped text messages. The other apps (Chomp, default AT&T, and Handcent) do not show them at all.
My only solution is to delete all the text messages. I would like to keep the recent ones but no app seems to be able to keep the limits I have set on the threads.
Is there some type of SMS/MMS management app that would manually force the conversations to their limits (1000 messages per conversation?).
I believe when I updated to this phone, and I transferred my messages from my S7, maybe an error was introduced?
One conversation thread has a triangle with an exclamation point inside it. Maybe that thread is damaged?
Any advice appreciated.
