I am up in the air about getting this tablet i like the fact that its a nexus and i've had previous tablets but never really used them so curious as to what people use them
sincerely a guy trying to justify a need vs a want
The nexus 9 will be my first tablet and this is what I'm going to use it for:
*Reading. Books, newspaper, stuff for school.
*Laptop replacement in school. When I don't have IT Courses, I won't need my Macbook, but I need something to look things up, make notes, calculate and draw plots etc.
*Watching Videos on the couch, in the bed and while traveling.
*Probably playing games
*Surfing and writing in Forums (Tapatalk)
*App Testing maybe, because I'm planning to start programming android Apps.
*etc.
I'm typing this out on my 32gb model, absolutely love this thing so far! Its fast, the screen is amazing, and android L is gorgeous and functional. Can't comment on battery yet of course. WiFi connectivity is stable. Loving the 4:3 form factor. No complaints as of yet.
As for what I use my tablet for:
Reading the news/blogs
Working on Word/Excel/PowerPoint documents
Tapatalk/Instagram/Google+
Media Hub (Play Music/Netflix/TuneIn Radio)
Web Browsing (much easier than grabbing the laptop)
Casual Gaming
Hope this helps
i just got mine before even installing google account i enabled oem unlock in dev options and rebooted to fastboot and fastboot oem unlocked this thing!! cant wait for the fun to begin..!!
also on tablets i mostly game, read news, some media etc.
Yeah it didn't matter on my want vs need I picked mine up and already did OEM unlock
I had an early tablet a couplet of years ago too and sold it since I found I never used it. But I'm getting back on board with the Nexus 9. Software has come a long way in a couple of years. I plan to use my tablet primarily as a replacement for all the books and papers I currently take to meetings and things. (for a geek in the tech bubble, I've been very slow about moving away from physical copies of things...) That's how I justify the purchase. I also plan to tinker with android. Also good for bringing with me while traveling to surf, communicate, and watch TV in bed.
I use mine mainly for clash of clans lol. But ya I unlocked mine first thing as well. Seems to be good so far has a little lag in COC but I am sure it will be worked out in time.
Taking notes, playing snes/ps1 emulators, web surfing, emails for work, neglecting my laptop, remote desktop from toilet, and most importantly Netflix in bed.
same thing i use my phone for lol....social networking, browsing the web, listening to music...that is all
For me gaming a bunch. Also Flipboard, Netflix etc. Speaking of games, anyone tried running Simpsons Tapped out on this baby yet?!
My immediate plans are:
- Testing out Lollipop (of course)
- Testing out USB OTG
- reading comics
- Clash of Clans
- Web surfing
My main interest is to use this as my electronic flight bag and aeronautical navigation platform.
The Ipad has become the defacto platform, but it's expensive...
$600 for the tablet
$200 for Bluetooth GPS addon
$150/yr subscription for nav software.
So the ipad solution is just shy of $1,000 for the first year
With the Nexus 9, I'll pay $500 for a platform that includes a very capable GPS. I use an app called Avare, which is free and more than capable enough for the type of flying I do (which is basically weekend warrior flying.)
I've been using my Nexus 7 2012, but it is showing its age and I'm looking forward to the larger screen.
I also keep all my aviation related references, books, manuals, etc. on the tablet, so it's an all in one solution.

this isn't a legit versus, i just need some advice on which tablet i may enjoy more.
I love to watch youtube, i love to surf the net and play flash games.. I love to read books.
my main uses i got out of my ipad 1 was utube and browsing, but i can't handle lag... will this device be faster then the ipad 1? in all aspects? Is the ipad 2 really that big of a leap from the first?
edit: i used the ipad mainly for these little things, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't love other things. I have no idea what this tablet can do, i only did those simple things before because i couldn't find any other uses out of my ipad.
For you use, either one is fine. In fact, you should save some money and pickup the original Transformer and that should be enough for your usage.

Either device should be fine really.
In terms of Youtube, Browsing, and Flash Games, the Transformer has an advantage as you have the OPTION of Adobe Flash. Sure it slows browser speed and drains battery but at least you have the option and you can disable it to achieve "normal" speed.
For me, im getting the Transformer because I like the flexibility Android gives as well as the dock option. That way I could walk around with the Prime as a tablet with just the screen and dock it when im going to be sitting down and doing something.
You should also note that the Android Tablet market is far behind the Apple Tablet market. There are not too many apps for Android Tablets atm (which im sure will change eventually like it did for smartphone apps). You could look at your favourite IOS Apps and try to see if you can find them in the Android market.

truth be told i do like the little games, but there not a huge deal to me, every once and awhile i would go look at a top 10 and find a few games, spend an hour or so on them and be done. Games are fun, but im sure android will be enough for me.
Im concerned that with flash on the browser will be laggy? even with the quad core?
what other things have people found they like to do with there tablet?

There are a bunch of reviews on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1370912
Regarding flash, it will definitely be slower than HTML5 but it is definitely still usable. Generally flash should be kept off unless you are on a site that is not compatible with HTML5.

not sure what HTML.5 is... im pretty choked to hear that my browsing will be laggy with my flash on. I don't know nothing about nothing, but 4 cores can't handle flash? that sucks.
Why not go to best buy (or wherever) and play with the original transformer TF101? Browse to some flash websites and see how they feel.
Until any of us actually get or hands on one of these, all of these helpful comments are just based on speculation and "hearsay"
I wouldn't mind knowing what people liked to do with there old android tablet.

HTML5 is a number of API's and technologies that add new functionality to the modern web. Modern web consists of PHP or other server side engine that generates pages of HTML for you, HTML itself that is sent to your browser and is rendered by your browser, CSS that styles how HTML looks and JavaScript that modifies what is displayed by your browser.
HTML5 is an incremental update to most of those technologies. It consists of new HTML elements that your browser knows how to display (like video and audio without flash), it consists of CSS3 which includes new rules that describe to your browser how to display certain HTML elements (like rounded and gradient buttons that so far have been only possible with pictures only) and new JavaScript API's that allow your browser to draw Flash-like animations, store data locally in new ways or use geolocation in your device.
As a regular user you won't notice a difference in the end, HTML5 is still not an official standard but after a while it will replace all existing Flash in the web. For example, many browser-supported games already work without Flash (including Angry Birds) and sites like YouTube have an option to already work entirely without Flash and display videos through HTML5 only.
In few years time Flash won't exist in any of the major services you are using today and most users won't even notice a difference while web will be faster and more standardized in the end.
Possible uses:
- manga reading: install one of manga reader apps (I recommend Manga Watcher, tried a number of them and this one is the best) and create your manga library... it downloads them from assorted web sites and stores on your tablet
- ebook reading: best app would be MoonReader (it's free, and there is MoonReader Pro, paid version)
- comics (cbr/cbz)
- movies: Original TF plays well up to SD (640x480) and widescreen (maybe up to 800ish x 400ish, 720p is hit and miss, usually too slow. With all software updates it plays well up to 720p but not 1080p. Try RockPlayer and MoboPlayer
- Netflix
- games: there is better stuff than flash games... look for THD-labelled games. Also stuff from Gameloft. Still, I would expect iPad 2 to be better in this regard.
- as a notebook if you have a keyboard... its Office app package is usable for taking notes etc, but it's definitely not in the same class as the regular MS Office which you can have on a Windows netbook.
- Skype? Not using it myself, but it should be a decent Skype device.
No Gameloft games work on the Transformer.
Well, at least gameloft doesn't allow Transformer users to buy their game for whatever dumb reason they have.

Most common uses for me:
- handwriting for studies (also on PDF books),
- games
- reading PDF books (those that my Kindle can't handle) and comic books,
- reading news and www in general,
- youtube videos,
- e-learning (I study in a mode where half of the lessons is on the internet).
I'm an iPad 1 owner that is getting an Transformer Prime.
I bought my iPad because there were no good Android 10 inch tablets at the time. I tried upgrading to an original Transformer and Galaxy Tab 10.1, but Honeycomb really disappointed me. So I returned those and stuck with the iPad.
Flash used to be important to me. It's less important now. I still want it to play videos, because a lot of videos are still Flash only. I would not use it for Flash based web games though. Flash really kills browser performance. So it's a double edged sword. But still nice to have.
For me a big deal with an Android tablet over an iPad are things like having micro SD and HDMI ports. I can easily supplement my storage and pretty much have unlimited storage capacity by just buying more SD cards. And I can plug in my tablet easily to my TV (without the need of a big ass ugly adapter).
iPad certainly dominates when it comes to apps. But Android actually has a pretty decent selection of apps that work well. Unfortunately sometimes I find an Android version of an app to be inferior to an iPad version, such as TuneIn. But it's usually not to big an issue.
Not sure if the iPad 2 supports USB controllers. I know I can plug in a USB keyboard with it's adapter. I may end up playing 3D games on my Transformer Prime though because Android support game controllers (I'll need to buy a big ass ugly USB adapter like the iPad though).
I'm really torn on which screen ratio I like more. At first 16:10 was my obvious favorite. But after using an iPad for well over a year. I'm kinda found that 4:3 ratio has some pretty nice points as well. If I want to hold the tablet in one hand, I found it's more comfortable to do that in portrait mode. 16:10 tablets are way too narrow to read many websites in that position, while 4:3 still has more width for that.
iPad has a much smoother overall experience. Android 4.0 looks like it's improving, but they seem to still be behind trying to catch up. But on the other hand Android let me put my icons where I want, use widgets and customize my UI a lot more.
I really liked my iPad. And the iPad 2 looks great. But for me the Transformer Prime is an no brainer.

Is this really true? I hope not as I have a ton of great game loft games on my iPad that I hope will be on Android also once I get the Prime. Even of it doesn't let you download the game, can't you side load it or install the game from another android device if you put the APK on it? Why would game loft make such a dumb move. It's not like their apple only as I see some older game loft titles on other android devices. Asus prime with tegra3 would be perfect to showcase the great games they put out. I won't base decision on getting tablet based solely on video games. I don't have any home console systems anymore and haven't for a long time but my iPad 1 is now my only source for playing video games and served that purpose very well. Game loft needs to get with the program ASAP. Anyone know the reason why they won't work on Transformer? I have tegra2 Atrix phone and side loaded Order n chaos up there and it played perfectly. This was even before they officially real eased it to be compatible. Thanks to this great XDA forum . So if it could play perfectly on my Atrix phone, I'm sure the original transformer or the new prime shouldn't have any trouble pushing it.
As far as other uses for tablets, it's what you make the most of it. I do all these things other posters stated and more on my ipad1. Trust me, a lot more can be done with these Android and apple tablets than most people believe. It's not all about playing games and watching movies or you tube..lol. These are and can be great productivity devices and make things a lot easier and more efficient. Since I got my iPad almost 2 years ago or whatever, I've never used a regular computer since. Whether it be a desktop or laptop. Never had the need to. Everything I can do so much faster with my iPad. As I have it jail broken and modded out like crazy to allow me to do most things a regular pc can do. Everyones needs will be different. I'm still amazed with this tablet just like the first day I got it. Can't wait to get my hands on the Prime and fall in love all over again.

Great points as I'm an ipad1 owner also. I use it for everything. Feel the same way as ipad1 and 2 is great BUT Transformer Prime will be my next device. As it seems more future proof. Plus you won't necessarily need adapter for game controller for Android, it's been stated and seen the bluettooth wireless gamepads are supported now on Android. Lots of reviews where people using new transformer prime with logitech wireless controller. Asus also states it will work with Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and most other wireless models also. So wireless controller gaming on original and transformer prime already been confirmed.

At first when they mentioned wireless game controller support, I assumed I could use my Xbox 360 controller without having to plug in the receiver. But then I noticed in some reviews the guys had to plug in the wireless USB receiver with their Logitech controller ASUS gave them. So now I'm assuming the Xbox controller will be the same, need to plug in the wireless receiver to work. Which kinda makes "wireles support of game controllers" kinda silly marketing bull if true.
To me the worst part about the iPad is the screen, or more specifically, the screen resolution. I bought the original iPad when it came out, and the reading experience was just crappy - the fonts were just fuzzy and it tired my eyes too fast.

I noticed that also. I guess it depends on the type or wireless controller it is. Of it relies on just bluetooth, then I don't think you will need a receiver plugged into USB port. Some videos show no piece hooked up and the wireless controller working fine. I guess through Bluetooth.
As an owner of both an iPad 2, and 2 Android tablets, If you want Youtube, and flash games, android is the only way to go.
The Android Youtube app is much less restrictive. Most VEVO content, and music videos can be played, whereas most music videos are blocked on the iPad app.
Flash isn't even available on the iPad, but it kinda makes up for it since there are many more games on Apple's AppStore, but as much as I love paying money for games, free flash based games are better.
/2cents
I'm web developer for many years and if Flash is properly optimized it will take less power-processor usage then HTML5, also when people say HTML5 have in mind HTML5 on its own can't do much, it must work with CSS2/3 and JavaScript to be able to do some proper "stuff".
Flash will rock on games and video especially HD and that will be the future, HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript will take more websites. But Flash and Flex will remain as superb choice for creating advanced RIA's or Apps for Tablets and Smartphones.
Flash and Flex has unique very advanced GUI that no other solution on this planet can compete with and when they would be able to, Flash technology will have even more features than what they have.
So entertainment Flash is #1 choice for a long long time to come. Just keep yourself updated with latest versions and you'll be all good.
I like HTML5/CSS3/JS but you gotta make ton of manual coding, where in Flash you can simply do drag&drops and do this far more easily then in any other technology. Not to mention components for developers, it's just too easy comparing to anything else.
I'm trying, (probably lot many people) to decide between the current dual core tabs and the quad core.
I will be using this tablet for most anything you can use a tablet for - lots of art applications, streaming movies and music (flash required), some sort of g-sensor/accelerometer, and bluetooth, as I already have a good bluetooth keyboard that pairs nicely with my Android Phone.
I currently own the Acer A500 but I'm still within my return period. I'm strongly leaning towards returning it and getting a quad-core tab but I like the features such as the full size usb port and I want to be able to use that for an external HD for movies, music, etc. Of course, a lot of web surfing will be included. I will be using it for some office features but mostly through Google Docs, as that's what I use on my current mini-notebook (which I'll probably get rid of once I have the tablet decided on for sure). Price is a thought but I want a 10" inch screen and front facing camera so I can use internet video chat, etc. which I think means I'm in the $500 dollar general price range.
I find the Asus Prime intriguing but I'd like to have a USB port without having to have the dock to get it. I read somewhere about either Toshiba or Lenovo coming out with a quad-core with full size usb but I can't find the release date on it now. I'm willing to wait a bit, but also know there is always something better around the corner and at some point I need to just pull the trigger as they say. Some people want to know about basic computer literacy...I'm comfortable with Android and some basic rooting etc - have had an Android phone for 2 years and followed the development closely for some time prior to that. I've rooted my phone & my husband's from about the first week we had them. In addition, I used to run a triple boot laptop with two linux distros and a Windows install so I'm fairly comfortable with the ins and out of doing something like that.
I guess my questions are, has anyone heard of any release dates for quad-core tabs beyond the Asus Prime? Are there any other tabs that you'd say "forget the quad core and go for... instead?" Any info on release dates (other than the general sometime in 2012 would be uber cool to hear).
Oh, I'll also be using it in the hospital quite a bit with multiple surgeries coming up and digital magazines and e-books are definitely part of what I'll be using it for.
Thanks so much in advance! I look forward to your advice!!
Rae
You DEFINITELY don't need a quad-core phone if you are mostly looking for reading books and watching movies.
Look for tablets with extended battery life (larger batteries).
Also you might want to take a look at eReaders on which CyanogenMod has been ported, allowing you to run Android on devices with awesome displays for extended reading.
GoodLUCK!

A positive prime thread. I've had mine for two weeks now and this week was exactly what I bought the prime for. Work sent me off on a week long seminar course.
daytime, I used the prime for notes in the seminar. Running quick office HD was easy. The keyboard was able to cope with my typing speed (80wpm) and inbetween note taking I was checking email and a bit of web browsing during the boring bits of the seminar using my HTC sensation as a wifi hotspot.
Lunchtime involved angry birds, cut the rope, some comic viewing using the ACV app (awesome)
evenings was web browsing, movie playback, more games and some email, facebook use.
It lasted a full day easily, coped with everything like a trouper and was exactly why I wanted one of these things.
awesome
Glad to hear it worked out great for you. Battery life is great on this. Do you use stock keyboard or you bought a 3rd party one or keyboard dock?
I'm glad to see another positive thread about it. Hopefully more threads like these will crop up!
I'll be travelling to Dallas in about 2 and a half weeks so I will see how it works out for me as well
The flight, including layovers, is 9 hours...
Same here. My prime rocks. Not sure about all these negative reviews lately.
Maybe its a bunch of apple fanboys blasting the board to give the tablet a
bad rep... cant wait until we can get a unlocked bootloader and some roms
to really see this thing fly!
Another happy prime user here! I am a medical student and use it all day looking up clinical information and using citrix to access patient information. I couldn't be happier!
We have three people here in our firm who are very happy Prime owners. The other two are first-time Android device owners. Our units came in around the same time and none of us have had any (ANY!) of the negative issues mentioned in these forums. Not one.
Not to say those users are imaging their problems nor am I calling them liars, but these tablets are fantastic. The WiFi is comparable to my Xoom, the AGPS (thought I hardly ever use it for navigation) works fine, the Bluetooth is flawless, there is no screen tearing, etc. I have watched a movie on my train ride this morning and a show (one episode) for lunch and little but of downloading, tinkering and emailing here and there... I still have more than 50% left after 9 hours of on and off usage. I've also switched between modes while I used it.
Though my experience wasn't measured in a scientific manner, it tells me one thing: For my use, this tablet has exceeded my expectations. For what I want, and bought, this tablet for I can do everything I want to and then some. Keep in mind, I'm a long-time happy Xoom owner who is still very, very happy fond of it. My 2-year old son has taken over ownership of my Xoom which was what prompted me to buy a new tablet.
The Prime is THAT much better.
EDIT: I don't use my Prime for play only. I'm in IT working for a law firm. I use Citrix, remote administration, etc. I also do photography using my tablet to display each shot to clients rather than a laptop wirelessly. I didn't mention those because I thought that most Android tablet owners didn't buy their to use them solely as toys unlike iPad owners (lol). I just thought that that was a given. But yeah, my tablets since the Xoom has been corporate workhorses, not toys. I have every Bluetooth device paired to my Prime from headphones, mice and keyboards to PS3 controllers. The Prime is a beast.
Oh, and the other Prime owner in our firm is also IT and the other is an office manager. So I'll leave it to your imaginations what we do with our tablets. Lol.

Or maybe it's just people who haven't been as lucky as you in receiving an issue free device. Glad it works great for you guys. I wish my experience was as positive.
Oh, and wouldn't be caught dead using an iDevice!
As a curiosity about the note taking, I want to know; why QuickOffice? For me, taking notes should be something I would want to access everywhere. So why not use Evernote or similar competitors?
I find that in lectures I take long notes with Evernote, save them, and then I have to use my laptop to program hours later and I find it easier to have Evernote displayed on there.
This thing is awesome. I use it the same way I did with the OG Transformer, except it is so much faster, sleeker, and a hell of a lot better build quality.
have been using prime for over a week and found nth wrong with it other then weak gps signals but the rest are okay.
I noticed a few days ago that my GPS DOES work (I used to think it didn't, I just had to wait a little longer for it to search for satellites). So that made me happy (though i'm always around wifi hotspots and my position can be determined from that, so GPS on my tablet isn't a big deal).
so i'm guessing most if I have the dock...isn't it cumbersome to type, then trap the screen for whatever reason? And what if you need to draw something?
why bring the prime + dock instead of a laptop?
I'm mainly just contemplating in getting a dock...
I'll admit that I haven't searches to much for answers/opinions to my questions, so I apologize i'm advanced...

to clarify the note taking. I type straight into a doc file because when I go back to the office tomorrow, I need to transcribe them into a doc file to distribute to everyone.
the note program may be fine, but I need to know I can copy/paste it into word back in the office later.

Good to hear about your positive experience with office documents. I really need this feature. I had a Prime but had to return it because it was stuck in bootloop.
I'm in college and I need the feature to take notes. However, I like to add the professor's drawings into the document so office documents don't seem to work as well for this. As a way to compensate, I use NoteEverything android app. I can take textual notes, plus make a drawing and resize the drawing to what ever size I want along side my notes. Plus, when I want to review the drawing, I can blow it back up and see it in full size. You can even do multiple drawings in one document.
However, I would love to be able to do this in some kind of office document so that it is transferable. Do you have any suggestions?
You could just use google docs, since it's already a syncing app you can install on your device. You can copy/paste once you get back to a computer. (in chrome at least)
Reasons to get a keyboard dock versus bringing a laptop? Battery life... for one...
In quickoffice, you can save directly to DropBox or GoogleDocs. It's pretty sweet. I like it much better than the included Polaris because of this--though it has less formatting options.

This is my first tablet and it is awesome. I've messed with friends iPad 2's and they are just big iPod touches to me. Really toy like. My work laptop crapped out and I sent it to our IT department for repair (I can fix it myself but I don't mess with our work computers, I get enough of that at home) anyway, I've been using my Prime at work for everything I do on my laptop (i5 quad core) and the Prime did it flawlessly. I wish we would get rid of our laptops now and go with Primes. This is a great device.
I recently ditched my iPhone 4s for a galaxy nexus. I'm thinking of ditching my iPad 2 for an android tablet. Anyone used both the iPad 2 and Galaxy tab?
I will primarily use for work. Invoicing, emailing, watching videos in an airport lounge.
Thanks in advance.

Just throw your ipad in the bin. I wouldn't even insult a android tablet by paying for it with money from selling an ipad lol. So in answer to your question. Yes, get rid of it. Buy a tab 10.1 and you will not be dissapointed ;-)
I have both, and I only use the iPad2 for Skype mostly, Everything else feels like a App store dependent device, there is nothing free you can actually enjoy since most apps are optimized for iPod/iPhone, you need to pay extra for HD apps which are sometimes iPad specific. What a ripoff.
I've totally ported over everything I need for official use on the Android.
-Gmail
-Voice Features to type my mail easily (ICS)
-A more CONTROLLED and responsive Youtube.
I hate how Apple forces you to watch the HD version which renders almost impossible in airport lounges (Since I travel alot) and their Standard also loads like an old man crossing the street.
But ofcourse, user opinions differ. This is just my 2 cents, I do however feel the iPad2 is a complete waste since I have the iPhone4 and it's almost EXACTLY the same **** but on a bigger screen. Unlike the Galaxy Tab the iPad2 can't play anything else except mp4 format, it can handle more BUT you need to be jailbroken to install VLC for iOS which is custom and not on the app store.
Thanks for the responses.

I just got my tab 10.1 on Saturday. I come from the Applesphere - have owned 3 macs, iphone 3gs, 4, 4s, ipad 1 & 2. I got the tab because i work in IT support and would like to know more about Android and how to operate/support it.
I will say that I prefer the ipad (whether because i'm predisposed to Apple stuff or not). I feel like its more fluid and responsive than the tab, and the android market just sucks. Also - coming from the idevices, all my music and apps have been purchased on the app store. I was able to import the music with relative ease using doubletwist (although since i use itunes match - i have to download all the music and import it using doubletwist or uploading to google music). But it pisses me off to have to rebuy the same apps that ive already purchased on the ipad, but thats my problem - not androids.
Having said all of this, id still recommend the tab as a viable work machine. Heres why:
- price beats the ipad.
- can remote desktop using many apps on the market (i chose jump due to familairity with them in ios)
- vpn works as does on ipad (cisco anyconnect for me)
-teamviewer works
- several office compatible apps available
-web browser is capable of viewing sharepoint sites
- exchange support works just as well as on ipad
- very easy to carry around the office or to the movies/dinner etc if on-call
All in all - the tab is every bit as functional as the ipad in terms of work use, but the ipad (in my opinion) is more stable and responsive. (I am using Galaxy task 14 full on my tab).
One other thought from an IT guys point of view - be sure to check with your IT dept if youre not sure that they will accept your device on the network and whether it is capable in your environment (vpn, email, etc).
Disclaimer: this post is not intended to start a fanboy flamewar.
Agreed no fanboyism included, I do respect the view's from both sides and my dad is a *fanboy* of apple and I too at some point, but I have tasted other water's and so far so good Android's ability to be customized appeals me.
I'm not going to tell you that iPad2 sucks, It has it's strong points but if you prefer simplicity and being tied down to one interface, Seeing as you already have an iPhone you already know how the layout is, and you'll soon realize, "Oh it's a big iPhone4", The only downsides that turns me off towards Apple iDevices in general is their ability to be uncustomizable. Their keyboards cannot be changed to your choice and whim, User integrity matters because some user's have sausage sized fingers to women who have baby carrot like fingers and Apple tends to assume that everyone's finger size is one general size.
Here's an example of keyboards on both devices, My dad tends to have big hands like me and ofcourse being so the static touch read by most devices matter based on area*size of the detected touch. So unlike Android tablet's where I am able to spam because of the many variety's of customizable keyboard apps to suit my style of typing, the apple however just has keyboard upgrades to add certain features, forcing you to be tied down to one style of typing.
Being an IT person aswell, I prefer bringing my tablet everywhere and reading the forums on my tablet to avoid the bulky laptop or spending thousands for a thinner laptop that has more downsides. I'd like to know that when I see a song or file available for download that I may be able to integrate it with the stock music player or reader without the need to move files to be read. Sadly apple hasn't given you the option to do so and you may need to search files manually, the downloaded songs on the go cannot be added to your playlist without being sync'd via a laptop, Which then degrades the whole idea that the iPad is supposed to cancel out my need for a laptop.
Sure the iPad has amazing hardware acceleration making it more smooth and amazing, but also realize that ICS has fixed most of the flaw's that HC and Gingerbread have failed to accomplish which is why in a few months, MangoOS (Windows) iOS (Apple) and ICS(Android) will all be H/W Accelerated OS's for fast processing and much more responsive. Currently HC and Ginger aren't HW Accelerated as iOS is only because of battery and no proper support for multitasking.
I guess it's best to wait till ICS and iOS 5.2 release to draw you conclusion, Dont get me wrong, both are amazing devices and I am proud to be an owner of both, I only prefer the Gtab as it negates the need for a Laptop as everything can be done outright without the need for Sync or anything.
I bought the Nexus 10 32GB out of curiosity last week, unlocked it and installed AOKP And all the goodies, but now I ended up not even thinking about using it for anything.
I have been using the HTC DNA since it was released, so I wasn't impressed by the N10's screen quality but not disappointed either. For the first few hours, I thought it would replace my laptop but I found myself using my ASUS Zenbook more so than N10 or the DNA. It's not because the N10 Doesn't have any practical utilities, but rather because my laptop do things far more better. Also, I just can't figure out how to comfortably hold the tablet. I thought of buying a case with a built-in stand, but I figured that it would be more convenient to just carry my laptop around instead.
So I'm about to sell my N10 but I just wanted to know how you guys utilize it before I do.

ehhh that's based on your usage really I like to go out and travel a lot, I'm an amateur photographer and i also do vfx stuffs so my laptop is pretty bulky. I only use it when I have to. Other than that when I go out for coffee or photo day I usually carry my nexus 10 and otg usb so I could view them in a bigger screen and sort out what I don't need or need. I also use my nex during relax for youtube, web surfing...etc, I also found myself using it for a recipe in cooking lol :silly: and yes it is not as practical as a laptop but I use it because of portability. But maybe it's not for you since you have the Zenbook :silly:
In addition to checking bookmarked news sites and social networks, I use the kindle and comixology apps (the latter mainly for marvel comics). For reading, I find the N10 superior to a laptop, and for web it's most of the time only slightly inferior (except when you're thrown into an ugly mobile site designed for 3" screens).
As for holding it, I slouch with my feet on the table and find I can keep the N10 at a usable angle and distance by dropping it in my lap. You may want to experiment with various couches/tables to find your ideal position
I'm a unix system administrator by profession, and I wouldn't ever consider using the N10 for work. I still have my cheapo laptop with linux for when I need to work from home.
I use my Nexus 10 for a variety of things, but mainly for reading, gaming, communication through apps like Hangouts, Voxer, and others, and study. I use EZPDF for annotation, best annotator out there. I also use it for music, since the speakers are quite loud. I also use it to time my efforts in volunteer work and record any necessary information (Ministry Assistant), and more. I've been trying to find more uses for it myself, I've only owned it for a week now. Best Android tablet I've used, for sure!

I use it with my hands and fingers.
I found that whenever I owned a laptop it would always sit in one place plugged in constantly. I now stick with a more powerful and more reliable desktop and have a Nexus for when I go out and about since they're much more portable.
I'm at university studying computer science. I use it all the time to type notes and read pdf versions of the numerous textbooks I need, so saves a huge amount of space and weight in my bag. I also use it a lot for the web, like if I'm on a site that requires a lot of reading, I'll often load it up on my tablet even if I'm on it on my laptop just to read it, just because the screen is so much easier to read off for me than my laptops. I use my n10 a lot and it's possibly the best thing I have bought in years, the 10 inch tab fits in my life perfectly. Although I am used to the 10 inch form factor as I had the galaxy tab 10.1 for a year before I got the nexus 10 and 7.
I also have the nexus 4 and the nexus 7. The nexus 7 I mainly use as a ebook reader, to play some games that are awkward on a 4.7 and 10.05 inch screen. Also use it a lot between the large amount of time it takes to charge my n10 up
I do the same as the person above. Also use it for reading books in general, my friends steal it to play games, and it's useful for long car rides even without internet.
Only problem is, is that I am too lazy to figure out how to compile my programming assignments on my Nexus 10 :/

Is there a way to connect my phone with my Nexus 10 besides Bluetooth? Like, if I get a text message or a whats app message on my phone, I could see it on my N10?

Mighty Text. Its even notify you when someone is calling.
I generally don't really use mine at home unless my Desktop is in some kind of inoperable state (I used my N10 earlier to look up some info on a few BIOS settings for my Desktop). If I hear a notification go off, I usually go to my N4, or just minimize the game I'm playing on my Desktop and check Gmail.
I'd love to get some more use out of my N10, just need to figure out how... lol
I use it to play games. test out different ROMs. for skype/chatting when I am playing a game on my desktop. browsing the web. Sometimes watch youtube videos when I am away from desktop. listen to music.
Thanks for Mighty Text. Also what's the best combo to use it as a streaming player of my files on my computer? I wanna use it as a player and make my computer the "server".

I gave up my PC when I bought my nexus 10 so I use it for everything. Most days I just use it for the basic email, news (while on the toilet ), calendar, phone. I have a galaxy nexus but when I'm home I usually just use hangouts,Facebook, or Skype for calls off my tablet.
Its also my Netflix, hooked up to a TV. I went through 3 HDMI cables before I found one that worked on the nexus 10. For some reason it's picky.
Torrents, I have a wifi external HD I use to back things up.
I really want to add a Bluetooth speaker but I spent too much money on my Bose back when I had iPhone 3gs. Now I have to suffer with it.
GPS in the car, tethered to my phone (NFC tag). Gaming, though obviously its far from what my PC was.

Everything! Watching movies, reading emails, social media sites. For editing and sharing pictures and videos. It pretty much replaced a laptop and a desktop.
Web browsing when I'm outside in the backyard smoking or grilling, occasional games, netflix in bed, etc. I should probably use it more for how much I paid for it, but I love it as a tablet. After having a HORRIBLE experience with a TF300t it's perfect for me. No lags unless the app I'm using is laggy on all devices.
Mostly reading (news, books, comics, pocket) I also have a Zenbook but for reading the N10 is far better.

I'm using mine more than my new laptop for news, reading, games, finances, video chat and some phone calls. I only use my laptop for work, excel and Photoshop.

I use mine because it's so versatile, portable, and I'm still learning what I can use it for!! I just don't want to brick the thing!!!
I love mine!!
