Have you tried Setting> Locaton and select "High accuracy"?

Hey people, what is your GPS lock time with no internet connection, I mean, only the GPS?
Thanks!
It depends where I m at. Outside it only takes a few seconds, and inside I never got a signal.

Compared to my old HTC TouchPro I'd say about a million times faster!
Mine takes about 20 seconds - 45 second to get a lock outdoors. Inside I never get a lock. I think SkyNet doesn't see me when I'm indoors .
haha
Thanks!
Mine is taking 60seconds on a open area, is this normal?
Before the update(E10a to E10i) it was taking about 15~20 seconds. I tried to purge assistance data, but nothing changed. Its normal?
but do you use the network support? If I just use the gps it takes several minutes to get the signal...
No I just use the GPS.
I think that there is some problem, because before I got the lock within 10~15s everywhere, now it takes a minute or so.
I will use this threat to ask a question.
Does Android have something like QuickGPS on WM HTC phones?
no more answers? I've noticed that my x10 mini is very fast in viewing the satellites (3 to 7/8 in 15/20sec) but the locking time is very long...probably because I live among high buildings..but the signal is alsways very weak
I get anything between 10 secs to 30 secs to lock when outside, and 1 minute to 4 minutes when inside a building.
Anyone know how to get this to work better? Anytime I'm in doors, sometimes when in a car I can't get a GPS lock.
Regards,
Mike

You need open sky to receive the GPS transmission through your A-GPS, correct me if I am wrong.
So it is not possible to get the GPS lock when you are completely indoor or sometime in car.

It is possible on my Live with Walkman to get GPS lock while indoor(+ 2 floors above).
Usually GPS can take about 5-10 minutes to get a lock, how long did you wait?
Have you done any modifications to your phone?

I tried for about a minute. However, a friend with a razor was able to get a lock in a few seconds.
Regards,
Mike
A minute is not enough, especially for the first GPS fix. You can use aGPS to speed up the GPS fix, using your internet connection (WiFi or 3G) to help your phone find the satellites.
I have to agree with the OP. GPS on my mini pro is terrible. My old LG Optimus (the very first one) could get a precise location in seconds, but my mini pro sometimes takes 5-10 minutes, and has trouble keeping up with all the turns. Most of the time it only tells me to make a turn after I've already made it. Moving it up the dashboard (so it's clear of the car roof) helps but it's not very practical.
It's a shame because I love everything else about the phone :-(
I'm having difficulties believing you can get a real gps lock indoors.
The chipsets at the moment are just not made for that?
As mentioned in a previous post, you need a clear view of the sky, or at least be close to a window.
However, via a-gps you can have quit an accurate lock if it gets its location based on wifi. Based on cell signal, it's not as accurate.
My mini pro has an almost immediate lock outside, and sufficiently accurate one inside when I'm at home. But in the 2nd case it's not a lock via gps satellites
My 2 cents...

First time and when using GPS after long time can take some minutes to get a lock. However, if you use A-GPS, you can get faster.
I use GPS Test Plus app to clear and update A-GPS by hand to get faster lock. Without it, I usually get lock in about 5 minutes, with it in a minute.
As mentioned, using Live with Walkman.
Any one tried the GPS on this tab. Take a long long time to find satellite. 10-20 minutes if not more.....

I've only tried it once with GPS Test. It took about a minute to lock, which is longer than it takes with my Galaxy Note phone, but acceptable.
Go onto the playstore and instal pimpmyrom, they have some speed tweaks for gps, as well as some other goodies.
Why does the GPS in these Galaxy Mega's suck so bad? It takes minutes for my device to lock onto 1 out of 25 sats when it takes litterally 3 to 5 seconds for my Note 3 to lock onto at least 14 of 17 that it sees.

Yes. My ATT i527 mega has the same problem. It takes very long time to lock on GPS and lost signal frequently in my car.
I am on stock 4.2.2. Googlemap takes forever to locate my current locations.
Anyone find a way to fix this?
Hello,
How long does it normally take to auto re-connect with your phone once you get back in bluetooth range?
Mine needs at least 5 minutes before I have a connection again... Seems pretty long to me.

Hmm... is your bluetooth visibility on your phone always on, is it discoverable by all devices?

Nope, only visible to paired devices. But as soon as I get back in range it connects almost instantly, it's hardly 2 seconds, more like 1 second actually. 5 minutes doesn't seem right. If it was only 20 secs or so, but 5 mins?!
Are you using Gohma rom? I am, and I noticed it takes a while to reconnect. I don't remember how fast it reconnected with stock.

Nope, stock Android Wear. My N5 has a custom rom and kernel, not sure if it has anything to do with it..
