This is probably a silly/newbie question: How can I make a screenshot with my Truesmart? Any recommended app? Thanks.

You need to press the upper and lower buttons, both at the same time and hold for about a second. You'll know your successful when the desired screenshot decreases in size and frames itself in white. In addition, depending on your sound settings, will give you a confirmation shutter tone.
Good luck.

I would like that too, I tried the option in Diamond Tweak, but nothing changed.
Go to Start/settings/Personal/Sounds & Notifications. At the bottom, click on Notifications. Go to Event and click on the box. A box will drop down, click on "Messaging:New Text Message". Uncheck Flash Light For, hit OK and your all set-

#1, this option is greyed out on my Sprint Touch PRO.
#2, why would this prevent the device from wakeup?!
As a N1 user what I loved more than many other devices is that it has trackball wake and notifications colors for missed calls and sms (though thanks to Mod), do you think the main button under the screen of the SGS2 can do the same?

Probably not. I think the main home button is like in the SGS. For SGS developers made a mod called BLN which uses the capacitive buttons on the sides of the main home button for notifications.
Who knows, guess we will have to wait and see what the great Devs can accomplish.
I think remaping the home button will be easy for XDA devs but use its light for notifications...will take another couple of hours to implement it
Would be nice to be able to see notifications. Although I am not to concerned, I am coming from a iPhone which doesn't have any methods of notifications aside from sound.

...yes it shouldn't take more than couple of hours from xda-devs to get the light out of black piece of plastic....
The homebutton of SGSII already works the same way as trackballwake on N1, no need for development on that one.

The SGS's solution is probably the way to go. Light up the capacitive buttons with a custom kernel.
But I think I read somewhere that the SGS2 does that out of the box.

It can mean anything, and who knows what google did with the translation. Sorry
They need the back lights to 'fade' in & out or 'pulse'. This gives such a high quality look to a device.

And while in the previous model they [buttons] lit up only with the screen backlight, now the user can define how and when the buttons light up from a number of available settings.
Loving my EVO LTE so far. Quick question on the camera button. I need to press my button very hard to get it to snap a picture. Is anyone else having this issue? Just wondering if it is a defect or if they are all like this. Thanks.
its a 2-button button. a 'soft press' (to the first resistance point) triggers focus, a 'hard press' (all the way down, past the first resistance point) takes the pic. its by design.
a 'long press' (holding down the camera button for 3 sec) will bring up the camera app if you are doing anything else, and a 'long press' while in the camera app will rapid-fire capture pics as long as you are holding it down.
Does everyone's camera make noise when snapping photos? I have no noise, and I have trouble knowing if my camera is rapid-firing or not.

won't make noise if phone is in silent mode

Yours may be like mine, in that it seems like the button is not installed correctly. Mine has a distinguishable first stage, but I sort of need to mash it in to get to the second stage. I thought it was odd, but I knew it wasn't right when I tried out my wife's EVO LTE and hers has 2 clear, distinct stages, with no mashing in needed.
Mine is having rebooting issues anyway, so I'm hoping that my next EVO has the correct camera button press too.

I always have things on vibrate, but that's not considered silent mode I wouldn't think. Where can I change a setting that would make the camera make noise while my ring is set to vibrate?
nope. probably hidden. htc seems to have forgotten why Android better than iPhone and trying to dumb ics down to ios levels. options, apps,a ton of stuff is hidden or removed from this phone. try minimalistic text and look for camera settings or basic interface. I'll check around when home later
Isn't Minimalistic Text a clock widget app? I don't understand how this relates to the camera setting. What am I missing?
Sent from my EVO using XDA
no, it lets you make shortcuts and icons and widgets for anything possible on your phone. can see if it has any hidden camera settings menu built in anywhere
sorry, no camera settings. I did find a mirror app hidden though. I'll start a new thread about it

Its far, far from just a clock widget app. Its in my top 5 must download after flashing a new rom app.
I agree. I'd never heard of it til someone pointed me towards it to unhide polaris,(which you can do with es file explorer, another in my top 5) and I must say, its in my top 5 now too. so much you can do with this.
in fact, how do you use it for a clock widget?

Thanks. Based on everyone's input I am going to ask for a replacement phone. I really have to mash down the button to get a picture.
Why does Samsung feel is necessary to warn me that my headphones are getting louder and could possibly damage my hearing?
Now even the brightness level has to warn me that I am making the screen bright
I am a grown Azz man with two children a mortgage and a job. I'm pretty sure I can handle the responsibility of not blowing my eardrums out, or burning my retina with my Note 8.
What's even worse is now the threshold warning is even lower for the headphone volume. It used to be about 80% now its about 60%.
The one thing I miss it out custom roms is that we used to be able to disable that. Is there any mods available to stop those warnings? Probably the most frustrating thing about modern Samsung devices in my opinion

Turning it off is already built in...Settings>Sounds and Vibration>Volume>3 dots menu in upper right hand corner> Media Volume Limiter> Turn it off.

You'll see that won't stop the notification message after reboot. That's a parental control to lock it to a set max where children cannot go past without a PIN code.
There is another way using tasker and autotools.
True. Hopefully Samsung fixes it in a future update... ? This way works for now though unless I go the tasker route later on. I don't reboot my phone often this soon into the phones life anyway, and it's not a huge pain to go into the settings and change it until my next reboot.

Once you click OK, you'll be fine until next reboot without dealing with that step.
In this very subforum is a tasker trick that seems to fix it for most folks.

I'm glad you got this to work for you. I've updated the OP to say that you must hit the "play" button to test this before it will work. I tested this by turning it off, rebooting, then allowing the popup to come back. Then I tried simply re-enabling this event and rebooting. The popup came back. It did not start working again until I hit play to test it. Then it survived every reboot again.
To the OP I'd say visit my thread here to get it to turn off forever.

Not too sure. Are you using Secure Folder or Google Now Launcher? If so try uninstalling them, restart, and try again.

I don't see how a launcher has anything to do with it. Using Nova.
Secure Folder I am using, but also don't see the connection.

If you're in the EU, that volume limiter thing is a regulation, so you can't disable it normally.

I'm in South Africa, so probably same rule apply
/sad panda
The EU or International version only warns about high headphone volume the once after reboot. This is the case with my N950N. Once you click OK It never comes up again until you reboot. From what I can gather this is what the option in the 3 dots does on the Snapdragon version. Stops it coming up every single time. The International version does not have the 3 dot menu because that option to stop the warning coming up every single time is already enabled by default.
i dont have that option as well
In most case it's not because they care so much about our well being. They place these sort of obstacles there for legal purposes. Pressing "ok" is basically signing a release of liability for any hearing damages caused by our increasing of the volume. I wouldn't bet on them fixing this any time soon.
Go into developer settings and turn off absolute volume?
Wow.. how sad.. never knew this.. THANKS!
youre clearly not if you made this thread..
After getting the S23U initially turned on backtap but found it too sensitive (2as getting too many screenshots that I was not intending) so I turned it off. However I am still seeing screenshots getting captured spuriously, particularly on my morning drive to work. Practically every morning I have screenshot notification and a gmap capture in my Pictures folder. Anyone else seeing this? I confirmed that backtap is not enabled, and I am being extra careful to make sure I am not accidentally triggering a volume down/power button press when I insert the phone in the car holder.
Palm swipe to capture maybe? Like, you might have this option enabled, and you might be capturing Screenshots by doing this accidentally...

Turns out that this is not the problem. Palm swipe is disabled yet I still see spurious screenshots of gmaps in drive mode exclusively. I am very careful not to insert the phone so that it triggers volume Dn + power.
