Wifi issue OR Is there an alternative kernel for the LG D605?
Hey =)
I have an issue on my LG L9 II (D605):
When I try to activate WiFi, the ON/OFF switcher becomes dark grey, which normally means that WiFi is currently activating.
WiFi is activating... - http :// imagizer .imageshack .us /v2/150x100q90/661/zF4LC9.jpg
When I restart the phone, immediately after reboot finished it tries to activate WiFi again. It's the same with trying to activate WiFi hotspot. So maybe this issue is caused by the kernel? If so, is there any alternative kernel for my phone (with CM11 v9 by @Varcain )?
Thanks in advance,
Steven

Do a clean install. It's something you have done differently than others
Without attaching your logcat and dmesg output there is nothing I can help you with.
Sometimes have the same situation and with 3g data on off icon. Restart helps.
Founded another solution, keep the data always on

@Varcain, try enabling ro.config.low_ram in build.prop. A lot more free ram, huge difference.

Thanks, that really worked very well. Graphics are faster, status bar pure black, ram is really maintained better.
This switch should be implemented in performance section definitely.
Edit, I'm on ART, it's faster than usual dalvic anyway, but with this string phone is really Fast!
Will see how that would look after day or week run.

And one more notice. I'm happy that my dialers keyboard is fine again. So no buggy gapps install or xposed is guilty.
It's fixed after some dalvic to art and vice versa libraries switching.

@Avamander I tried to do so, but CWM did not really do a factory reset. It just seemed to wipe /data , but it didn't. But suddenly (I really don't remember what I had changed), two days later, it just worked again! I rebooted my phone and WiFi worked again too. ^-^
Thank you very much, Avamander!
Sorry for spamming in rom thread. Adding one more sentence. About zram, doest it will be included as a setting as well? Thanks, regards

Hello there. Was having sudden screen offs while unlocking the screen via dot pattern. Remember that?
This issue seems to be fixed by enlarging minimum cpu frequency.
No more sudden shutdowns for a second day. ART runtime. Haven't checked that on dalvic though.
V9.

Hello Varcain, thanks for your work, just say that this problem persist in v11, during a handsfree call the loudspeaker low volume, noise and echo problem.
I have tried to edit snd_soc_msm_sitar like you said and the volume increased, but noise and echo too, any other suggestions?
Help please
I ve installed cyanogenmod v11 but it dont start up, just keep on looping ring around cngm logo. How to get back to regular android? I already tried hard reset.

Were there any errors when you wiped everything nessesary?
Hello boys and girls. Dirty flashed over v9. Minimal gapps as well. Everything works fine, smooth and fast. Like 500mb of ram would be added. What about zram? Does it included? Couldn't find any settings for it. App zram status fails to start with error that couldn't find right path to zram partition. Broken In-call keyboard problem persist.
Thanks, great working rom. Regards, happy user.

no zram yet, maybe next release
Take your time. Hope it's gonna work someday.

@Varcain, short question. Can you share maybe a test kernel with zram enabled? Eagerly would try it. By the way, rom just flies on ART, hope with zram it would go like my blackberry

By the way, center clock setting is broken, no clock is shown. Only default, right corner, works.

First off, all credit should go to Roman and the AOKP team for creating the rom, JT and sbrissen for making the fascinate able to run this setup, Stephen.k.Spear for the first port of this rom, and anyone else I forgot to mention that was involved (sorry). I'm not looking to take this port over or step on any toes, but I just wanted to share an awesome experience with the rest of the fascinate community.
Link to AOKP main site (changelogs, forums, FAQs, etc.)...
http://forum.aokp.co/
Installation instructions (have latest cwm recovery)...
-reboot into recovery via power button reboot options, terminal emulator, or rom manager (no 3 finger reboot if on any ics rom)
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash THS build 2 (not required if already on an ics rom)
-let phone boot up
-reboot into recovery via power button options
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash AOKP build 25
-let phone boot up
Build 25 download link...
http://db.tt/IBc5scHR
Info, fixes, walkarounds...
I based this port off of THS Build 6, and the Toro AOKP build. I included the gmail, market, and file explorer apps (have titanium backup on your sd card and easily browse through the file explorer to install it...then restore your apps). Everything is working flawlessly except for mms. A walkaround is to download setdns from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.mytechie.setDNS
Open app, choose custom, set dns1 to 8.8.8.8, set dns2 to 66.174.92.214, hit apply, reboot to recovery, wipe cache then dalvik, then reboot. Mms will work identically to all the other mtd based roms (no mms over wifi).
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / enable fast torch is inop so there is no need to add it to the reboot options menu. An easy torch walkaround is to download flashlight + led from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight
This app has a nice option that while on lockscreen, shaking (adjustable) the phone will turn on / off the led camera light, along with a lot of other great options.
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / lockscreen wallpaper is inop due to soft resets over all ports. The original dev is working on it.
As far as nav bar options go, under rom control / power menu options, turn on show nav bar toggle. Then, when you press and hold the power button for reboot options, the option to hide / show the nav bar will be there. After toggling this you may have to rotate, or open a different screen to refresh the screen itself where the nav bar was. You could also just hit lock quick.
While docked, and only when using the dock, the miui battery bar shows charging, along with the info under settings / battery. It doesnt show charging on the battery icon itself, or the lock screen. It is charging though. Ill let the roms creator know about this issue.
When rebooting from reboot menu, you have to press reboot then reboot again in order to reboot normally, otherwise leaving it on reboot will reboot you into recovery. Its as if recovery is default if nothing is physically pressed. This is happening over all ports.
**continue to look at the op for newest info, fixes, etc.**
...will edit original post after work later with a lot more info...

To be honest, I swapped out so many smali files within framework.jar that I'm not sure which exactly fixed it. Its weird because my fascinate never had the wifi toggle bug all, but my wife's did...and I used the same exact procedures on each. Oh well, at least its fixed for good now!

I have exactly the same problem with my Xperia Sola and I'm not able to find out a solution: I only have to reboot the phone every day.
Have you find the reason of this behaviour?

I tried to disable the logcat by adding the line "logcat.live=disable" in build.prop file, but it doesn't work: multiple logcat process start growing as before.

What do you mean: disable logcat in build.prop or change the ROM?
Anyway, at the end I have been able to find out the reason of the multiple logcat process: they are created by avast! antivirus app.
Infact, after it, I have frozen the app and now the RAM memory is completely free from any logcat process!

From the Play Store, install Os Monitor (eolwral): this very good app will show you the "owner" of the logcat process in memory.

this is the answer from avast:
Hello,
I talked to a developer about your problem. He says he heard about this issue a few times, but has never been able to reproduce it or figure out what's the actual problem on the customer device. We suspect it's either weird ROM/device problem or some other app trying to kill us (something like a battery saver app).
He suggests that disabling App Shield's "Scan on execution" and avast! PIN (the pin protection setting in mobile security settings) and maybe rebooting the device should fix the issue. You'll have to live without those features.
Could you please let me know how you decided and wether the suggested deactivations helped?
Thanks,
Werner

I also wrote to avast! support team before my last post, and the answer was almost the same: I haven't tried what they suggested, but my suspect is that the problem could be caused by a bad RAM memory management implemented by Sony.
Infact, we have to consider that they recommend to reboot the phone every day, so before that the memory situation becomes critical.

Hi,
I have a problem with receiving calls on my sola. It takes a few second when it is able to receive and after I slide to receive I have to wait another 4-5 sec to hear other site. I found this thread on sonymobile http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/57245 but there is no anwer or solution
I tried stock 1.54 firmware, BrainsRom, Pure BloodRom v2, munjenis kernel, but it didnt solve this problem.
Also tried latest 201 fxp CM9, but it kills battery to much, had issues with gps and also nfc don't work properly still.
Has anyone this issue with incoming calls too?
Is there some solution for this?
Pls help, I'm hopeless after few months with sola :crying:

I had this problem sometimes, it happened when ram was low and after heavy using..
to avoid it set background processes limit to 2 or 3 . and use some task manager widget like Go taskmanager or ram booster.. And of course reboot ur device every 2 or 3 days maximum -_-" , I'm not having it with good ram management..

I vote the FXP solution too. That worked out for me.
Did you do a full wipe before flashing FXP? But yeah, the NFC isn't that great on CM9, but at least the "phone" portion of it works.
@Snowstormzzz
Before FXP I flashed fresh .54 stock, then flashed boot.img and did wiped all through cwm, then wipe again after install all zips
@Silver-7
Maybe in .75 version it will be resolved
Anyway, I'm on FLUIDITY ROM now for almost 2 days, waiting for incoming calls - still in hope that this stupid bug is already resolved here.
Let us know about the result please

Hi, after 4 days on Fluidity OC I accepted several calls and it seems that bug with receiving calls is resolved here!!!
Thx to pulak861
Cool, but u know sometimes I don't have it even in a month! So I guess we still have to hope for an official fix in .75
Btw I flashed back to stock this time without using any task managers depending on theory that Android has it's special behavior about ram management unlike windows.
I recommend u use "Watchdog" app, to kill only apps that eat CPU not ram. Well so far I'm not having problems too.

In my case it was delayed in about 4 calls of 5 on all ROMs except FXP, so I'm happy now :victory:

Just Standard procedure as usual ,
1) Wipe Data and cache >> wipe dalvik cache >> format system >> install this ZIP https://www.mediafire.com/?e1pb8d7d7y73n39
2) After booting up > go to recovery and just flash the S4 launcher by Anmol7ify , this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322753 , as i messed up the launcher a bit.
or use any third party launcher of your choice.

Dude didnt have that issue, is it happening from the starting or you recently installed any mod or something. it can also be a wifi router issue. try modifying the network properties of the network you connecting to using a static IP.

Try rectifying at your end dude, as I said above there can be two reasons for this:
1. Any recent mod or update by you.
2. Some network settings messing up.
Always make a nandroid backup before you install something new.
Last resort is to flash the Rom again as it was working fine before as you said.

What is ParrotMod?
This is a mod to greatly improve the touchscreen performance of the 2013 Nexus 7, on ANY rooted ROM, and work around a hardware problem with the gyroscope/accelerometer (auto rotate).
Updated 1/22/2017 to remove the problematic kernel tweaks, and fix EMI resistance for non-SlimPort mode. Note: I don't own this device anymore.
Download:
https://parrotgeek.com/dl.php?file=ParrotMod_2013N7_1.0.2.apk
ParrotMod was added to @flar2's elementalX kernel.
See here: https://github.com/flar2/flo

Important Note
In order to recalibrate the screen when you switch from holding the tablet (your body acts as electrical ground) to not (ungrounded), try turning the screen off and on again.
If ParrotMod does not improve the touchscreen at all, it could be that the touchscreen cable is loose inside the tablet. There are YouTube videos on how to fix this, like this popular one:
Spoiler: Video
The feature fixing the auto rotate bug might not work for everyone. If it doesn't, here is a real hardware fix:
Spoiler: Video
If you use multiple users on your tablet, ParrotMod's app icon will only show in the primary user. Enable ParrotMod in the primary user, and it will run even when you switch to another user.
How ParrotMod Works
The touchscreen is fixed by enabling a mode that is normally only used when HDMI is plugged in that is more resistant to electrical interference, and calibrating the touchscreen each time the screen turns off.
The auto rotate is fixed by reregistering sensor listeners every time the sensor daemon crashes. I do not know the underlying cause of this issue.
Known bugs
crash when no root (on N?) Logcat would be helpful!
when you update supersu, parrotmod does not work and says there is no root until you reboot
it does not use emicbhdmi after screen turned off & on (need to keep track of whether HDMI_PLUGGED)
HELP! MY TOUCHSCREEN HAS STOPPED WORKING AFTER I INSTALLED THIS!
Apparently, there is a VERY RARE incompatibility with some touchscreen firmwares which requires you to reset the firmware before installing ParrotMod. ONLY do this if your touchscreen stops working after installing it.
(You need fastboot & adb on your computer, Google it)
1) Plug the tablet into the computer
2) Turn on the tablet with power & volume down buttons pressed, to enter the bootloader
3) download the boot-ts.7z from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-works-for-you-regardless-of-updates.2428133/ and extract it to a folder, open command prompt/Terminal, cd to that folder
4) run: fastboot boot boot-ts10-lock.img
5) your device will bootloop. just run "adb reboot bootloader" after about 30 seconds to get back to bootloader
4) run: fastboot boot boot-ts-unlock.img
5) your device will bootloop. just run "adb reboot" after about 30 seconds and Android should boot up with touch working
OK, going to give this a try...

Hello again PG...
Just a quick question... Is there an interface that comes with ParrotMod? [can't find anything in the app drawer]
Thanks.
Its only compatible with n7, or is compatible with n5 too?
Thanks

No it's not because it's only for that specific kind of Elan touch screen.

Hello, Thank you for this. I can't wait to try it. My only question is, how easy is this to uninstall if need be? I get a little nervous about altering lib files.

At the worst, you'd have to wipe system and reflash your ROM.zip (dirty flash your ROM onto itself).

@parrotgeek1 You my friend are a genius. Instant noticeable difference. I am able to type this message without getting frustrated. I can actually delete 1 letter at a time, instead of mashing it in frustration and deleting an entire paragraph. And where my keyboard never made a peep. It now makes the sound that I told it to. The slight delay is negligible. I hope you have space in your PayPal account because there should be plenty of appreciation for this mod. I'm glad i I never threw Flo when the urge struck[emoji1]
