Hi, i have a bootloader unlocked xperia z wifi tablet and i get error (error: command not allowed). And then when i try to reboot the device it locks up and i have to flash stock again using emma flash tool. It worked before, but as soon as I used the emma flash tool to get back to pure stock it says "error:command not allowed). usb debugging is enabled, but i dont't have root.

Hey,
I'm currently trying to root my Sony Xperia Z2 but I can't get past the unlockbootloader stage.
I use the instructions given at Sony Developer World after entering my IMEI and all that, but one step don't work for me:
"3. On your Xperia™ Z2, press the Volume up button at the same time as you connect the other end of the USB-cable. For Windows users, when asked for a driver, point to the usb_driver folder where you placed the android_winusb.inf-file, and select the Android Boot loader Interface-file."
I connect the phone and it lights up blue as it should but computer is not asking me for any drivers. And seem I have to do this step as the next step is:
"4. When your device is connected, open a command window on your computer and go to the platform-tools folder within the Android SDK folder and type in ">fastboot devices" "
And if I type "fastboot devices" after the ">" nothing happens. If I try it with ">fastboot devices" the cmd.exe goes "The system cannot find message text for message number in the message file for Application."
Thanks for any help!
Andreas
I recomend using flashtool instead, also backup your TA partition because your warrent is voided by your bootloader being unlocked
Flashtool.net < it has a drivers.exe run in the drivers folder, run that first
I was never able to unlock my bootloader via sonys instructions across few devices, flashtool alwaus has worked for me
Thanks!
Gonna try it out but wondering if I should backup the TA Partition before or after the fastboot?
For example at this thread it states first step as "root" which feels more like the last step.

Before!
Unlocking the bootloader deletes your DRM keys so backing up your TA after you have unlocked the bootloader would be pointless.
The order you need to do things is...
Root (this allows you to backup your TA)
Backup your TA
Unlock your bootloader
Flash a flash a custom recovery
Flash ROMs to your heart's content
If you want to go back to stock (including restoring your DRM keys)...
Flash a stock FTF using flashtool
Lock the bootloader
Root
Restore your backed up TA
Flash the same FTF using flashtool (to remove root)
Hey!
I have the same problem here, nothing happens when i write fastboot devices while trying to unlock my device (but adb is working, in fact, i got into bootloader mode using adb).
I tried also using flashtool, but it says my device isn't able to be unlocked (but checking it in my z2 following Sony 's website steps it says: UNLOCK BOOTLOADER:YES).
Thanks!

If you aren't getting device ID on fastboot devices then either your device isn't in fastboot mode or your pc isn't detecting it, check that you have the correct drivers installed, flashtool can do it for you, and try again.

Thanks for helping!
That was the first i though, but if i can use adb, drivers should be okay, or at least that's what it should be.
And about not being in fastboot mode, i got into it through adb, and my notification led was blue, as it should be when the device is in fastboot mode.
Thanks again!
If I'm not mistaken fastboot and adb drivers are different, at least they are on htc devices. If fastboot devices returns no results it's because the pc can't communicate with any fastboot devices connected to it, end of.
Hey guys,
I just experimented with some sound libraries and so on...
now my device is bricked.
I don't get into recovery (pink led, not turning on), flashtool does not allow me to reflash the stock-rom, and fastboot-flashing also doesn't work, because my bootloader is locked.
Is there any possibility to unlock the bootloader from outside, without having the stock-rom running?
Or any other possibility to get this thing working again?
Would be really happy, if someone has an idea
Thanks

Flashtool (EMMA) says, my bootloader is locked -> I have to unlock it but thats not possible without a running system. for flashtool I just pressed vol down and put the cable in like it is described everywhere.
for fastboot I did the same, but vol up. Then the LED turns blue, but I can't even reboot it via fastboot command.
USB-Debugging is also deactivated, so I don't know how to access the phone.
EDIT: just tried again: reboot over fastboot works, but erasing or formatting is not allowed. Flashing not possible because there is not enough space it says
EDIT II: ok, just got the bootloader unlocked via fastboot. now trying to get the stock system on to enable usb debugging and flash custom rom then
EDIT III: just solved it. how? 1. Unlock bootloader via fastboot 2. let EMMA do a service 3. enjoy again
I have unknown Z2 i think there was Carbon image, but now phone is bricked.
No boot, nothing on screen. I can connect to it via fastboot or flash mode but when I try flash with oryginal firmware i have messages like on picture...
How can I repair it?
Bootloader is unlocked.
Kinda late reply .
You can install adb + fastboot drivers and then flash twrp recovery through fastboot.
URL="https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0MKgCbUM0itSUhpUklCTFpzWkE&authuser=0
Then flash whatever you need through twrp.✌
Only way to flash your phone is use the " Emma flash tool " from Sony. It will unbrick your device.
Hello I have a xiaomi mi mix 3 5g that I never removed the bootloader on, as it had the stock EU firmware on. It has recently been updated to to MIUI12. however the battery went low and went all weird and now constantly reboots.
I can get to fastboot by holding down the power and volume down, I have also tried a wipe device by holding down the power and up. From what I have read I i cant re-install fastboot firmware without and unlocked bootloader. (can someone confirm that this is correct) as its not clear.
***I have now confirmed this I have tried to install firmware using xiaomi flash tool and fails with the following
"Error: erasing boot Failed remote erase is not allowed in locked state. so this confirms it.
Also I cant unlock the bootloader as it wont boot. Does any body have any idea of what I can do with this phone? any help would be apprciated
thanks
The error I get when trying the mi unlock tool
Couldn't Unlock
Please add your account in MIUI;s Settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock Status
Seems the update miserably failed, Android OS got corrupted. My suggestion: Re-flash phone's Stock ROM ( phone's battery should be fully charged ! ).
To keep you updated:
FASTBOOT is a program used to manipulate ( list, install, erase ) the non-volatile memory such as flash filesystem partitions on devices that adhere to the fastboot protocol, via a USB connection from a host computer. It requires that the device be started in a boot loader mode ( AKA fastboot mode ) with the fastboot protocol enabled.
Take note that fastboot ( the fastboot daemon ) is integral part of phone's bootloader.

How do I re-flash stock rom when the bootlloader is not unlocked.
I have already tried Xiaomi's flash tool and it when flashing the stock ROM and get the following error
"Error: erasing boot Failed remote erase is not allowed in locked state"
Are there any methods of flashing a stock rom with a locked bootloader ?

I have already tried that method When I flash using the flash tool I get the error "Error: erasing boot Failed remote erase is not allowed in locked state" My bootloader is not unlocked is this method supposed to be work with a locked bootloader. Bit of chicken and egg situation. I cant unlock the bootloader as I cant boot the device and I cant reflash software as I don't have an unlocked bootloader.
AFAIK you always are allowed to flash an original firmware image without unlocking the phone's bootloader.
If you can access the device by means of ADB try to flash the Stock ROM via ADB:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot sideload
adb sideload <LOCATION_OF_STOCK_ROM_ZIP_FILE_HERE>
C:\adb>adb devices
List of devices attached
f625af1 sideload
C:\adb>adb sideload miui_ANDROMEDAEEAGlobal_V12.0.1.0.PEMEUXM_9e4961bf09_9.0.zip
loading: 'miui_ANDROMEDAEEAGlobal_V12.0.1.0.PEMEUXM_9e4961bf09_9.0.zip'
* cannot read 'miui_ANDROMEDAEEAGlobal_V12.0.1.0.PEMEUXM_9e4961bf09_9.0.zip' *
@sivhead
Try this:
Rename the file to rom.zip and then start "adb sideload rom.zip"

I also thought its worth mentioning that I have never registered the device with mi connect
Also enable usb debugging is not enabled.
aqnd THe bootloader is locked .
Man I wish I would have unlocked the bootloader when I got it and put a custom rom on. then I wouldnt be in this situation. how ironic that I wanted to keep it stock
so I am at a loose end
I just purchased a G8343 on eBay and have attempted to unlock the bootloader, but the OEM unlock command seems to merely hang every time I run it.
By sheer luck, the bootloader ended up unlocked, but when I try to flash recovery, the command also hangs—this time without leaving the recovery actually flashed.
I can't restore with Xperia Companion as the bootloader is unlocked and Flashtool doesn't work to flash the device. Sony's official Emma also appears to not want to work with the device, stating "No available services for this model"—presumably because the G8343 is not listed on the officially supported devices for Sony's "Open Devices". I've even tried newflasher but that times out in fastboot as well.
What do?
To flash the recovery, make sure it is powered off and UNPLUGGED. Then plug in the phone while holding the Volume UP button. You should see a blue LED light.
Then check windows device manager and make sure to install the Android Bootloader drivers are installed. Then you can freely use "fastboot flash recovery twrp-xxxxx.img" easily.
You can not flash recoveries the same way you use Newflasher, since that uses the flashmode and not fastboot.
