Mount issues - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone are rooted and have recovery but i cant delete system app nor activate xposed installer..seem like it cant mount system or something like that..can someone tell me how to fix it? my phone is on the latest firmware..

Are you on 4.4.4? Do you have supersu installed??
To delete system apps better use titanuim backup
for xposed install it via recovery

4.4.4 has enhanced the security... You are no longer able to write on the system partition unless you disable the security, I don't remember if it is kernel related or if a recovery is enough when flashing a file to disable ric... Search for the "disable ric.zip" file

[Q] clockworkmod backup not showing in file system

hey there,
i used towelroot to root my nexus 5 along with su, busybox and bootunlocker from playstore. i used flashify to flash cwm.
(i know i should have used fasstboot to do all this. an i would have, if it didnt wipe my userdata)
after that i created a nandroid using cwm recovery. but it doesnt show in my filesystem (nothing in sdcard/clockworkmod) (neither in root explorer nor on my pc when i usb-connect my phone). but i can restore or delete it in cwm, there i see it.
do you guys have any explanation for this?
an one second question: every time when i enter cwm and want to boot the system again it says, root had been compromised. and lets me fix it. but doesnt seem to make any problems. is this normal?

i found it myself: root/data/media/clockworkmod/backup
any idea why?
any way to change this location?

Xperia Z2: Titanium BackUp unable to restore System Apps!

Evening!
I recently bought Z2. Its ROOTED. SuperSU and BusyBox are successfully installed. For some reason I uninstalled some of my System Apps which I never used. All these apps are backup'ed by Titanium Backup before uninstalling them.
But when I tried to restored it from Titanium Backup it gave me the notification error – “Batch restore Finished (1 element failed).
I also used Root Explorer and Total Commander to mount my Internal Card with r/w and was Successful. But when trying to change permission to the above i.e. system/app and fix permission to rw -r -r, it gives me error pop up stating – “Permissions change was not successful. Please note that some file systems (e.g. SD card) do not allow permission changes.”
Then I thought of using System Apps Installer to install those missing apps but it also gave me this note at the end – “Cannot mount system partition as Read/Write”.
Can somebody please guide me how can I restore those System Apps using Titanium Backup or install them as NON OF THE APPS ARE ABLE TO WRITE TO SYSTEM FILES though my Cell is ROOTED.
Your kind cooperation in this matter is highly solicited.
Thanks a lot.
Arvind
I believe you need to disable ric. Try installing XZDUALRECOVERY and see whether that works.

How to disable 'ric'??
Moreover I haven't installed any recovery yet. But will try to install XZDualRecovery today. But is there any way to come out of my issue without installing any recovery brother??
Thanks!
Anyways I successfully installed XZDualRecovery on my Z2 and its working fine [Thanks to NUT, DooMLoRD n other developers ].
Though Link2SD and Titanium Backup are able to convert any of my User Apps to System Apps without any problem but while restoring System Apps with Titanium Backup it's unsuccessful. The same goes when trying to integrate updates to System i.e. unsuccessful. But User Apps are successfully been restored by TB.
Please help me what am I doing wrong or what must be wrong in my TB settings.
This is driving me crazy.
Also Xposed Framework too is installed [long back] and running flawlessly.
Bump
I know this problem of mine must be really small but am still unable to trace why am I facing this situation.
Any help from senior members will be highly solicited.
Regards.

GT-I9100 cwm / cm13 bootloop - data recovery?

My galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) was running cm13 for about half a year. Some days ago I let google play update my apps. The result is a bootloop.
I've used the voice recorder to record a lot of notes I need to remember. Is there any way to get those files out from the phones internal storage?
The CWM recovery installed lacks the option to wipe cache / dalvik, which I would hope could get the device out of the bootloop.
When booted into recovery, I've tried adb, but the device is unauthorized.
I think usb debuging was disabled, however, I'm not sure about that.
The ideas I have to solve this are:
1) flash some other recovery that will give an option to wipe cache/dalvik and be able to boot cm13
2) flash some other recovery that will make adb able to pull the files while in recovery mode
3) flash some recovery that is able to copy files from internal storage to sd card
4) factory reset, and hope the files don't get deleted (this is the very last resort)
The thing is that it seems like I'll need to do all installations from SD card via the current CWM recovery. Does anyone know of a suitabel download / howto that can help me get my files off the phone?
If reason for boot loop is Xplore file explorer latest update , uninstall it with developer advices:
http://www.lonelycatgames.com/wiki/xplore/crash_on_cm
I did factory reset twice because of app.
Thank you, Kepsilla. Unless that is an app that is installed with cm13 or gapps, I don't have it installed. But your link gave me hope:
If you have custom recovery on your device (such as TWRP), enter recovery mode, open file manager and delete folder /data/app/com.lonelycatgames.Xplore-1

That means that if I can install TWRP recovery from CWM recovery, I should be able to access the filesystem. That should open up to two possible solutions:
a) Copy my files from internal storage to SD
b) Delete / modify some files to take all apps I've installed from play store will not start automatically.
Does anyone know of a TWRP that would give any of these possibilities and install on a i9100 using CWM?
(I can't really experiment iwht this - I feel the risk of loosing the files is too high. I have to know I'm going the right direction when I do something.)
Solution was very simple: By holding volume down pressed during boot, the device boots into safe mode - no apps started. Then I could just uninstall the apps that were set to autostart. Reboot and problem was solved.
I came across this way to enter safe mode when googling a error message that started to pop up frequently on my S5 mini. S2 with cm13 appears to have the same way to enter safe mode as S5 mini with factory rom.

I don't see my files with TWRP but it is OK with File manager.

Hi
I have a problem with my Mi5s plus.
I have updated my rom.
I can boot with my custom rom I just installed. It is ok. I can browse the directories with the file manager. I can use the stock browser, SMS...ok
But when I want to install GAPPS (That I downloaded before)(I know it's no longer called that) with TWRP, I no longer see the installation file, the ZIP. The directories are empty with TWRP but accessible and with files with the Android file manager.
So I can't install applications without open apps.
Of course, when I want, by example, to delete cache I have theses messages : unable to mount /data (invalid argument), error 8 etc.
Help me?
I hope to be able to recover the data so that when I reinstall my applications. I have the data.
Thank you again.

I have flashed things that did not properly unmount a partition afterwards so I could not mount it in twrp. Try flashing something that mounts data, if not mounted, then unmounts data properly.
Maybe my TWRP is deprecated ?
I have flashed a ROM 8.x then, my TWRP is old : 3.0.2.x By XM maybe ?

Thanks.

Data Partition Encrypted Unable to TWRP Backup/Restore

Hi,
My phone is rooted with TWRP (notch friendly version) and running magisk (both preserve tick boxes are unchecked)
When I go in to TWRP, - It wants the password to mount (which i dont have); if I bypass this, I cant flash a ZIP because I cant find it due to the data partition being encrypted (i.e jumbled foldernames)
For this reason I cant find my TWRP restore file to restore to a previous version
When I try to TWRP backup it cant mount system or data
No sure what to do next.... is magisk doing this? should I uninstall it?.. Im sure it wasnt always encrpyted as I managed to make 1 backup in TWRP
The main issue is, during the night the phone reboots to recovery (no idea why - i guess its trying to flash an update) and then hangs on the "password to mount" screen.. causing my alarms not to go off in the morning
Matt
Any ideas how to decrypt data partition? I'm a bit stuck for what to do.. I'm thinking about downloading/installing through erecovery.. But could be risky.
