Many of the "Custom" ROMs are just pure stock, but with all the bloat removed or disabled. I use Omega ROM which is basically stock but with a few minor tweaks to help with stability and battery life. It's a 900F rom but I use the T-Mobile modem and boot loader. I'm assuming you could flash the 900F ROM and then flash the T-Mobile modem, but you are taking a risk doing these types of things.

What would be the best ROM, or which are the best ROMs as close as possible to stock (TouchWiz, Samsung Apps, etc), but without any carrier content ?
I'm looking for something as updated as possible (2.3.4 if possible).
Is there one?
Just use a Samsung stock firmware, have a look at this:

Stock rom is stock rom = no carrier content .

I've already installed CWM, rooted and KH3 firmware, but now I'm looking for a ROM.
The ROM that came on my SGS2 has carrier-related bloatware. I do like TWz and wanted to stay as close as possible to stock, but without the bloatware.
Also, the Settings.apk that came, lacks options (like Development Mode).
Stock roms post .

or do you not want a stock rom but a custom rom ??

What you guys think about modaco's ?
give villainrom a try. its the closest to stock and thats why i like it
Darkyrom. I've been using it since the first 2.3.4 leak and haven't ran into a single problem. It also works with Jaykays themes so you get the best of both
Would it work normally? Would it make the phone unusable? Would it work, but with problems?
Or even the Galaxy SII's ROMs, will there be problems if I flash them on my Galaxy SII Lite (Galaxy S Advance/GT-I9070)?
I just installed a custom ROM for the Galaxy S Advance (the only one I found), but this custom ROM is exactly the same as the default ROM... it is just rooted... but it makes no difference, it is easy to root the original ROM too.
Its default ROM version is Gingerbread (Android 2.3), and the custom ROM is based on Gingerbread too. If I flash an ICS ROM or a Jellybean ROM (made for Galaxy S or SII), will my phone show problems? Has anyone ever tested this?
If I flash a custom ROM made for another device, will I be able to reflash the old ROM? I'm pretty sure I will, but asking just to make sure.
Thanks.
May be SoftBrick! )

Please find the following Jet mode 3.0 ICS themed Rom for I9070 .. I don't think you will be able to flash I900 or SII Rom on this the drivers and Hardware libraries will be different for each of these phones and i dont think you will be able to boot with other roms.
If we were able to just Flash the other ROM we would not have porting the ROMS happening right ?
Yeah, right... thats true.
But thanks anyway, at least there is an ICS ROM for I9070... Thank you for the link!
The phone wont boot because there is No ics kernel for s advance so dont need to try it
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
You will brick your phone. The chipset of Advance is very different from i9000 and i9100.
Try that and say goodbye to your device!
You can only flash roms made to your device, and only for it... there's no way to flash roms for different devices on yours.
Hi guyz,
I have simple question here..Im using ST15I - unlocked - rooted- with custom kernel and ROM..I want to know that is it possible to flash a custom kernel and the stock rom..?
Is battery life depends on the kernel or the Rom.?
Because every custom ROM which I tested was good...but after few days it gave me problems like getting slow,Force close, freezing touch screen, stuck menu's,..etc.
So I wonder if there any chance to use a stock rom with a custom kernel for better performance..?
tnx
Sure, there is an option to use stock ROM and custom kernel, but they have to be compatible. I'm afraid any of CM kernels will work on stock ROM, but there's plenty of options - Lupus ICS, Extended stock kernel, MESA etc. And yes, battery life depends on kernel. Some of them are battery friendly, some of them not. But in general any custom kernel should work at least the same time as stock one (from my experience).
Bt battery life is also depended on ron, apps,3g, wifi and usage and a bunch of other things and yes depended on kernel too.
Yes stock rom and custom kernel can be done if they are compatible

Thank you gyz.....
I'm looking for a simple custom rom that's similar to AOSP or AOKP, but also includes some stock s5 features and certain Tmobile apps. There appear to be many custom roms, and I don't want to try them all. I'd like it to be as stock as possible, with maybe just a few tweaks, because I do have a concern for glitches and such. Does anyone know of a custom rom like Im asking about, or is there a way to get some of my stock Samsung and Tmobile apps onto a rom of my choice. I appreciate your time.
Any of the current roms will be fine for you. Or you could go with XtreStoLite G900T
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800402
u can install any custom rom then from there install any samsung and tmobile u like, im using XtreStoLite G900T with most of Samsung app installed and it running great for me.
Thanks, this is actually really close to what I'm looking for. Any more reccomendations are appreciated though.
Can someone recommend me some custom ROMs that look like stock but are without bloatware and that have some tweaks. Thank you
All custom roms except cyanogenmod are like this.
