Just a guess; you need a relatively recent recovery to flash liquid. What recovery are you using?

If the error is a status 7.....your recovery needs updated. If the version of LS is 4.4, i don't think you are going to be able to flash KK with the 2.6.?.? version and that will give you another error.
There is an updated 2.8.0.? version which works for all newer KK roms.
Keep us posted

No ROMs able to flash?

I tried flashing a couple ROMs but none of them would get more than about sixty percent done before they stop making any progress. I literally had one trying to flash for over six hours. I am s on, with twrp 2.1.8. I was trying to flash mean bean from cm10. I realize that I would have to flash the kernel separately but I could not flash the cm Rom either. I ended up having to restore my nandroid.Any ideas?

You have to update your TWRP. That version is so out of date no rom will install with it. The latest version is 2.4.4. Either download it from the teamwin site or install goo manager from the play store and let it update the recovery.

2.4.4.0 will only work if he's on the latest OTA full firmware including touch panel drivers
If he is not I suggest 2.3.1.0
Can I use goo manager to get an updated version but not the newest? I am not on the latest ota

I don't think so but if you download this there are a few different versions inside as well as instructions on how to fastboot flash
Sorry to necro this, but I haven't been in a position to answer until now. The link you sent me is no longer available. So I am wondering if I can grab the 2.3.1.0 from This repository? and will this video be the correct way to do the fastboot to update my recovery?

Yeah, that repo is good. As for vid, didn't have time but would guess yes. If you want confirmation, check YouTube for vids by qbking77 about flashing recovery on galaxy nexus, it's a great tut for setting up adb and fastboot.

So the 2.3.1.0 version would be okay for me as far as being able to flash? I am not sure which one would be okay as far as what OTA I would have
Also video tuts show that I should fast boot with "fastboot flash boot boot.img". Since I am doing the recovery.img I should be able to instead type "fastboot flash boot recovery.img"?

If you have the latest OTA (software version 3.16) and newest firmware you need TWRP 2.4+. Otherwise 2.3.1.0. is fine. As for your second question, you are correct. I normally will rename the recovery file 'twrp', so I use the command 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img'.

[Q] 7510 (p4wifi) Will not run new versions of recovery (SOLVED)

Problem Solved. Found the correct version of recovery and bootloader. 4.2.2 roms will now install. Thank you to those who were willing to help. Now that I have educated myself on this tablet, I will begin developing for it.

Good morning everyone
Just yesterday, I chose to update my tablet to one of the xda posted JB roms. I'm coming from an ics build 38 AOKP that I've been on for several months.
After I'd confirmed a successful download, I performed all the necessary cleaning procedures pre-flash, flashed the rom, and was stuck at the splash screen.
So I went back to the ics build and attempted the same with a cm-10.1 build with the same effect. Upon asking the first developer for advice flashing his rom, I was advised to update my recovery which was an older 5.x version of CWM to which another member directed me to the latest version.
Prior to this, I had attempted to use rommanager to update the recovery. During that process something happened in which the device rebooted and froze at the splash screen. I attempted a reboot into recovery via power+volume down and when selecting recovery, I only got a black screen.
So I took the Odin route and dropped the latest cwm tar.md5 through pda in download mode which allowed me to freely re-enter the rom and reboot without issues. However I still only have a black screen when attempting to get into recovery.
Any advice on how I would be able to restore my custom recovery without returning everything to factory images and starting over?
Thank you to those willing to spend the time and effort to help me solve this problem.

You need to flash a new recovery. Grab a copy and install it using ODIN and you should be all set.

Thanks for your response. Are you suggesting that I flash an older version of ClockworkMod recovery? I already flashed the latest version through Odin which gives me the same black screen.

I misread what you said. Apparently you've got your rom installed but recovery isn't working, correct?
I had no problems on my 7510 using CWM v5.5.0.4 and with CWM Touch 5.8.3.1 - either of those should work if you flash them with ODIN or Mobile ODIN.

Ok cool I'll give 5.8.3.1 a try if I can find it. So, in my reading I was under the assumption that cwm recovery needed to be above 6.x.x for use with 4.2.2 jb roms. Are you currently or have been on a 4.2.2 rom with your tablet using the recoveries that work for you?

No, I've never tried any JB roms, so I didn't need the latest CWM. If nothing else, trying a different known-working CWM will at least prove that you're able to flash recovery and have it working.. then you can go find a 6.x recovery for the Tab 10.1.
Progress Report
So I managed to shell instal a version of TWRP and the recovery works perfectly! However, I am unable to use any roms except aokp ics (milestone6) lol
Could this be a recovery issue? Still somewhat unfamiliar with the Tab 10.1, I assumed there was an hboot that I could access to flash a recovery image but all reboot attempts into hboot (4.0.4) ended in a simple reboot.
Back to recoveries however, I attempted to flash different versions of CWM tars through Odin3 v1.85 and they all ended in solid black screens. Somewhat at a loss as only the Milestone 6 aokp build is accepted to my tablet and no other ics or jb builds. Somewhat off topic, is there no requirement to RUU upgrade the firmware to something later in order for the table to accept newer recoveries and hboots?

Problem Solved. Found the correct version of recovery and bootloader. I apparently have an unlocked p4tmo that runs a few p4wifi roms.. Anyway, 4.2.2 roms will now install. Thank you to those who were willing to help. Now that I have educated myself on this tablet, I will most likely begin developing for it.

Any ways to flash a custom rom without a PC?

I do not see myself having access to a computer anytime in the near future. I had no problem rooting my fascinate from my phone using the framaroot method but I am having no luck flashing a new rom. I want to flash hellybean to get rid of this froyo crap but I just can't seem to do it. If anyone has a way to do this without a computer your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

CyanogenMod installer is coming out soon, and apparently it's going to be compatible with this phone right out of the gate (since it uses download mode and already has an unlocked bootloader)
I did try to use ROM Manager but my install of CM10.1 was pretty much borked after using it. Results may vary, but if you really can't use a computer, download ROM Manager and get the newest CM10.1 build for your phone from get.cm. Flash it through there. It is strongly recommended to use a computer though, since ROM Manager uses an outdated version of ClockworkMod Recovery that may or may not work.

See that's my problem, I can't get cwm recovery or twrp recovery to flash, I used Ron manager to flash the recovery and I got a successful confirmation but when I boot into recovery its always android and not the custom.

So now im stuck with phone unable to boot up. Would greatly appreciate some help in getting my phone working again. How do i get around this to be able to flash a rom to get it to boot up.? Also noticed a warning saying that the kernel was not installed. Tried installing slimbean, which is what i had before, but since data wont mount, nothing installs.

Then VipeRUU and start over.
Thank you Captain for the advise. I was actually able to find a solution. Googled it and found a similar issue. They advised to go into advance wipe in twrp and wipe the specific partition that wouldnt mount. That fixed it for me.

TWRP crashing...

I'm trying to use TWRP to update to a new cm12 nightly, but every time I select the zip and try to flash it, TWRP crashes and reboots. Is there something I'm missing? It's probably just a noob mistake... For example I only today figured out how to get TWRP to cooperate with encryption and my pattern lock on boot up, hah. I thought it wasn't mounting storage because something was corrupted. Anyways, thanks for any suggestions you can give.
What version of twrp are you using?

I had the problem this afternoon. I just tried it again and it worked. Didn't change anything.. never had problems like this on any other Nexus device. Creepy.

2.8.5.0. But I did some more tinkering today and eventually solved my problem. Here's to help you others who saw the same thing: I tried using progressively older versions of TWRP to see if they're used work, until version 2.8.2.1 I think. At that version, instead of crashing, it gave me an error that my zip file was corrupted. I deleted the zip and downloaded it again, switched back to version 2.8.5.0, and everything worked. (except for the Rom, which had bugs that made it unusable, but at least it flashed successfully and booted lol). Hopefully my experience can help someone else now.
I'm having issues with twrp hopefully I found the right thread. It shows no storage available? I'm trying to flash CM. Thanks
