I doubt they will do metal bands as we need to 'pop' the Gear S smart watch in and out of the band, so metals not a good idea.
No release dates at the moment.

The metal bands could be attached to a rubber housing that the gear s pops into. it would be 3 piece design. no doubt the apple watch will have a billion straps available at launch... :/

I think that is why they delayed the launch, so their accessories could catch up lol

I wish I remember where I saw it, but someone somewhere said to buy a dummy Gear S from ebay because the dummies use genuine bands. Sure enough I picked up a white dummy watch for, like, 15 bucks and the band is real. If only the dummy watches came with the new bangles *jelly*

I've looked at all available on ebay, and every one looks like it's the standard band. Do you have a link to the one you bought?

It's just the standard white or black bands though. If you were looking for the bangle, you won't find a dummy watch with one. That's why I bemoaned the lack of them in my post.

Yeah, here I nabbed some pictures. The black band is the one that came with the watch and the white that I'm using came on the dummy watch.

Just curious if anyone in NYC has found a decent case yet in a store. TMobile has some of the Tek21 cases, and I've seen some Incipio cases in ATT stores (which I might go back and pick up), but thats about it. I miss the large samsung store in columbus circle. They probably would have had them in stock right now.

UPDATE: Just got my case in mail, and I love it! My biggest gripe is that you can't change the S-View music controls to anything other then Samsung's music app... Also the S-view "quick camera" is crap, but it will open the full camera app if you flip open the case... Other then that, S-View is nice to have for phone calls and memos. The case is pretty solid, feels nice in your hand, and it doesn't add that much bulk to the phone.

cool, only problem for me is the black gear is out of stock, not into the other colors lol.
warning....t-mobile has had some that didnt work.....I got one today and the s-view didnt work at all....not on my phone or their demo. several people has stated on different forums the same issue

Now that I think about it, the $30 s-view case on Newegg, even though it says official and samsung, is probably a knockoff. I just ordered one from tmobile, and i'll return the one i ordered on Newegg.
I thought this may come in handy for anyone wanting to add wireless charging to their g3 without having to buy the the official circle case. This supplier also offers a circle case with wireless charging sticker already installed.

I would message them because it clearly states free shipping to the US via e packet. I also changed the link so it isnt a mobile link. Try again.
I tried again and changed the site view to classic at the bottom of the page. It let me process the order this time. Now to see if this will actually work. I guess $10 is pretty cheap to test this out and not be forced to purchase a qi case.
Seems to work for me. Actually when I opened up the site, there was a pop-up that specifically said the company ships to the US.
I ordered one, but it will take forever to get here (15-26 days) via "Chinese Post Air Parcel" which really means it's loaded on a slow boat to America.......

I'm confused by this product. Can I use it without the case? I have the gold Sprint LG LS990 and I don't want to use a pink (in photo) or grey(in description) case. Plus, I was reading another thread that said that some of these backs are not really working on the US phones because of the location (and number) of the pins. 2 vs 3. I don't see the LS990 mentioned anywhere on the page. I'm not quite sure what the supported values D885 D830,D851,D850 F400L,F400K,F400S are.

No way to know till some people get them in and try. We found out the hard way that the ATT model won't work with the Qi back plates, so no idea if the VZW model will work with these. Even though the seller claims TMO compatibility, we don't really know that for sure till someone tries it. It wouldn't be the first time some vendor made an assumption about compatibility that turned out to be incorrect.

I'm not sure if I'll switch to black at the last minute. I also don't know how the gold will match cases and such..)

I'm not a gold phone lover, but would have probably got the maple gold one if it were available in my region.
I was watching TechZilla video on YouTube, his is the maple gold and it looks really nice.

The gold is nice. But when I look straight down at the screen, the tiny edge of the gold appears around the edge of the glass, which to me made it feel a little smaller or framed. The black blends in more so it looks like the glass itself. So I changed my mind at the last minute.

My thoughts exactly! The first time I went to a samsung store to check it out maple gold note 8 looked like a stupid slab compared to my midnight black S8+. So, l went for the black note 8 which looks awesome! I think the maple gold S8/S8+ looked awesome too.

Good point about the black blending. My Note 8 is black and it's almost a surreal black. Everything blends .

It was released on Thursday the 26th of October, 2017. I picked mine up on the 27th from a DoCoMo store in the Moto Yawata area.

Go and check it out. It's a beautiful phone. It's my first new phone in a long time. (I'm coming from a Note 2! Android has really come along nicely.) I also got the Samsung S View Cover from Yodabashi Camera in Ichikawa.
I had forgotten how good Yodabashi Camera is for phone accessories. At the time the DoCoMo store didn't have any Note 8 cases, and my nearest Yamada Denki only had a few. Yodabashi Camera has loads of Note 8 cases, but they keep the Samsung branded ones behind the counter.
Edit: Just saw you updated your post. Yes, I couldn't buy the phone outright. I have a regular 24 month contract and expect to pay in the region of possibly Y11,000 a month for everything. That's including 5Gig data, etc. which is enough for me. My Note 2 was pretty much the same per month at the time.

I use line mobile.
I pay 2,790y/m for 5gb calling and text.
I could probably drop down to 2gb and pay even less. Data used with certain apps like Line doesn't count to your data.
You might get slightly better signal using a Japan model but very slight.

The model number (in Japan) is SC-01K. I'm not sure what that's equivalent to.

I was told, when I preorded it, that mine will have a case in it. I'll see on Monday. I'm in Romania, so maybe there's different packaging for every region?
Edit: Just watched some romanian unboxing videos with the phones from the same carrier I'm getting mine. None had a case. I'm guessing the guy at the carrier shop lied to or just didn't know and sais "yes", to get the sale, when I asked about the case.

No case here either. The phone was pre-ordered from Vodafone. Not such a big deal. What I am more worried is the software for the camera is missing the AI features for the video effects and the software update shows software is up to date.

I know you're not serious but the cheap cases they include are like 5 cents to manufacture so I'm not sure why they removed them. I though it was something to do with the image of the brand as in some countries it is seen that only cheap chinese manufacturers include a case with their $200 phones and "premium brands" like samsung or apple would never do that but not sure

Might be a country thing. In Singapore we have free wireless charger, JBL Bluetooth speaker, nmd card 128gb and a memory card reader..... and a free case inside the box. ?

Got mine in NZ. At first I thought I didn't have a case but then found it in the package with the little books in it.
