Low RAM LG Optimus L9 II - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hi guys, my LG is runnig very low on RAM. I know Android clear RAM itself when its needed, but I´m not able to do anything on my phone. When I´m on Chrome and want to type anything, keyboard won´t show. When I´m playing Asphalt 8, black screen appears and return me to home screen. When I´m playing some music in Poweramp and surf on web, Poweramp crashes. I don´t know what else I can do. I did factory reset, blocked apps by Greenify, but same problem. Thanks for help.

You can either try CM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2752715) or, if you want to stay on the stock ROM, there's a little trick which seems to help a bit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56671750&postcount=440
You see, the phone has generally not enough RAM, plus the stock ROM does poor job at managing it, hence the force closes.

Archos 70IT keeps freezing

Hello,
It has been a while since I bought my archos 70IT and since the beginning, it kept freezing a lot, I had to kill all the apps every 2 minutes...
So I didn't really use it but now I want to use it again. I have installed Urukdroid because I thought maybe I could solve this problem by lowing the memory level where the device kills the apps... But know, the problem appears even more often than before... I don't know what to do... Sometimes it freezes when I use the menu, or when I'm on Google Play or when I use some apps, I don't think there is a specific trigger, only the memory. It is the 250MB hard drive model.
The screens stops and I can't do anything but reset the device.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
Please do yourself a favor and read the UrukDroid threads.
It is clearly stated that UD isn't really suited for the hd versions of the tablet, as it is installed on the HD, not the internal sd, wich means everytime the hd powers down the os is stalled, or the hd can't power down.
The only thing you can try is the orginal fw.
Wich Apps did you install?
I installed the market with arctools but the device froze even before it.
I also remember the device freezing when I transefered some media with the USB connection, before I installed UD.
If I shouldn't use UD, what is the best way to be root then? I mean, on a HD device.
Thanks!
The only chance you have might be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930197
Check there if it is working with the A70H.
I don't even have my A70S anymore to check it ( moved to Ainol Novo 7 Elf II ).
P.S.:
Is there always a trafficjam on saturday afternoon around toulouse?
Drove by last saturday and it was bad ( not as bad as lyon though , but...)
Thanks but I think I will stay not rooted and without installing google play and google apps. It's not as good as it could but it seems to work better...
By the way, does anyone know a good calendar app available on appslib? To import calendars by url.
PS: Yeah, the Toulouse traffic is really bad! That's the main drawback of this city I think...

[Q] i9300 too slow

Hi, I've been using cm 11 with ART instead of dalvik for a while, however my phone recently have become extremely slow. It takes about 10 seconds to open simple apps as Facebook, after pressing home button it takes ages to load my homescreen. I don't have much apps and only one game, so it shouldn't be a problem. Now I'm thinking about switching to pureCM rom which is said to be ultra fast. The question is: is it really good? or maybe I just need to wipe my Rom and start over? Maybe u know some other good roms which uses less memory?

You need to try them all and choose the best for you.
You always need to do full wipe before flashing a new rom.I will suggest you to flash another rom to see if it your phone or the ROM.

CM11 based roms dont eat up alot of RAM, I personally too, think that any rom if used for a longer time, tends to get a lil slow. That being said its not the rom- its the maintenance. CM based roms are better than pure CM roms (personal opinion). They offer more stuff- try carbon, Slim bean, Liquid smooth, RessurectionRemix, SOKP or any other similar roms, if you prefer to switch to touchwiz try, S5 Sensation rom.
And limit your apps, and check for apps that run in background , that aren't that necessary(Use greenify to hibernate apps). ANd if you're switching roms, be sure to do a full Wipe .
ALTERNATE: try other kernels and you can overclock the performance , but it might drain battery. Be sure of what you're tweaking. If you don't know what it is, Be careful.
P.S : check if you have 'double tap Home button' in your settings ON. if yes disable it.
audio distortion when called
sorry wrong thread.

[Q] Anybody can recommend me a fast and light ROM for GT-S5830i?

Hello everybody, I have a GT-S5830i and I flashed TouchWiz-Resurrection V9.5 ROM because the Stock ROM was restarting itself randomly whenever I was finishing a call.
TouchWiz-Resurrection V9.5 ROM was working quite nice during the first one or two weeks, but since then the OS lags as hell. It gets stuck quite frequently on black screens, the keyboard sometimes takes half a minute to respond, and when I most need my phone to work it freezes and restarts itself.
All in one I just have 3 apps installed (Whatsapp, DuoLingo and Link2SD [I use Link2SD to move System apps to internal storage when they update]). So I think that shouldn't be such a performance breaker (I don't even use GMail).
I've been looking the other ROMs but they all seem to have implemented some features from High End phones and stuff like that for such an low end device.. And any OS higher as 2.3.7 is just straight a bad idea for such a limited hardware.
Does somebody know if there is any ROM out there for the GT-S5830i which aims to be low resource intensive but still stable enough to be able to call, use internet for emergencies and text on whatsapp?
Greetings and thanks.

Games closing itself

As the title says, my games are closing itself after some time. This is happening for about 4 months now. I tried flashing few different ROMs (I did hard-reset each time, completely wiping internal storage), and tried flashing few different kernels, but the problem still appears. It's not issue with RAM because I'm monitoring RAM when it happens, it always has ~100MB free.
I'm currently running Resurrection Remix LP v5.5.9 ROM with ArchiKernel v3.0.31. I don't know anymore what may cause the problem, I tried everything to fix it, but it still appears. Problem wasn't appearing before, but now it is in almost every game. Every other app or while outside the games, everything works smoothly like fresh factory reset was performed. I don't have much apps running in background and I don't run any optimisation apps (like RAM cleaner or app killer in background). Thanks in advance!
(Sorry for my english)

If you really think this is Spam I won't help you any more. If you know anything about Android and read my answer you should be able to solve the Problem.

Classic Oom behaviour. Even though you think it isnt ram related you'll probably find oom errors in logcat.
S3 i9300 doesn't cope with any os higher than jellybean. Hence why samsung never issued one.
If you encounter these issues on a jellybean rom then the rom is rubbish.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Honor 5x kills my apps

Hello folks,
I'm not getting push notifications on my phone, i use Whatsapp for messaging and calls and it works but when the screen turns off for a long time the app gets killed or something and i don't get messages nor calls through Whatsapp, until i wake up the phone and launch the app. That's when i get all the notifications and missed calls.
Things i've tried:
Changing the phone to performance mode
Protecting the app from closing when screen turns off
Leaving the app open and locked sliding down on the recent apps tab
Reinstalling and updating the app
I don't know what else to do this is driving me crazy. I was planning to stay with the stock Android but all these weird configurations make me consider going with Cyanogenmod if i can't fix it.
Going to CyanogenMod is a good decision. EMUI has problems in handling whatsapp notifications, which they say will be fixed by OS updates.
The problem of killing apps remains in EMUI till now. EMUI says killing apps is good for RAM management. But they should give more idle time for the app before killing it. You could have seen the reviews everywhere that the RAM management is not good in EMUI. Its default behaviour. You cant change it.

Damn that's pretty bad and should have been fixed by now.
i regret buying this phone if i'm forced to install a custom ROM to make something basic work.
Also the EMUI interface is disgusting so i guess i'll be installing Cyanogenmod anyways. The stock Android interface is much nicer.
Do i just flash the ROM and gapps from my SD card or there's something else i should do? Unlock bootloader or something like that?

Start by reading the TWRP thread in the developers section
Custom ROMs, that's all I can say

I am noticing that this phone will randomly just force close an app, like no matter if I am in system settings or in Facebook. I have used phone with less ram that handles process better than EMUI. The sad part is I bought this phone because I wanted a close to MIUI experience, although it is close, it appears to missing the mark in so many ways. I really wish Xiaomi would start selling to USA

RAM Management, Yeah EMUI doesn't do that part fine. Hoping so to get improved in future updates.

EMUI is just so app unfriendly when it comes to RAM management
I haven't flashed the custom ROM yet, emailed honor US support a month ago to see if they're planning to fix it but they ignore my emails.
I'll end up selling the phone and getting Xiaomi if CM13 gives me problems.
Sorry for the offtopic but is there a way to back up the stock Android in case i need to go back?
You can always adjust the minfree values using several apps.
I think it has nothing to do with RAM, because it kills the app even if there's nothing else running.

Maybe you enabled "Don't keep activities" in Developer options.
Sent from my honor 5X using XDA Labs
you can look into this
Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps
Here you can select all the Apps you want to keep running even after the screen goes off for a long time without auto-killing them
hope this helps you even without switching to CM
or
check this
go to the App Info. of those Apps which you feel they are being killed and click the Battery and then check the Keep Running after screen box
as you find in attachments
