[Q] Xperia Z2 4.4.4 Update Canada - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I bought the Z2 as an unlocked phone and I use it on a carrier that doesn't sell or acknowledge the sony phones. (I Live in Canada, the only carrier that stocks sony is Bell and I use Koodo)
Now my question is,
Will I be able to update my Z2 to 4.4.4 through the software updater on my phone or do I have to do it manually by downloading and putting it on my phone. (Don't know how to do that so I prefer not to have to).
Thank-You for the help.

[Q] Should I debrand Z2? Warranty?

Hi everyone I have some doubts I hope you can clear for me.
This Monday I buyed an awesome Z2 with my local carrier (TIM-Telecom Italia Mobile) for 15 eur per month
Today I saw on Sony's website that the latest update right now is 17.1.2.A.0.314 and had already solved the camera overheating problems on FW 17.1.1.A.402 which is my main complain about the phone.
I hate to be outdated having I high end phone
So I'm thinking about debrand the phone but I'm afraid I could avoid warranty if so.
I saw this tutorial:
xperiablog.net/2014/06/01/debrand-your-xperia-z2-tutorial
Is it safe? It doesn't matter if I use that UK rom on my italian phone? Can't I use another generic rom to do the process (i.e an italian one)? I can return to the stock TIM rom if anything happens and they will accept it for warranty?
Sorry if these are such newbie questions but I just buyed the phone it's awesome and I don't wanna lose it
Thanks ^^

if your device is a Xperia Z2 LTE (D6503) then all for a Z2 (D6503) will work without problem on YOUR Z2 (D6503), unless you have a Z2 D6502 then look for D6502 files
take note that your xperia Z2 warrenty from sony will be voided if you unlock your bootloader or root your device

[Q] Problems with LG G3 D855 Operating System

Hi everyone,
I'm having issues with my LG G3 D855! It was originally locked to Optus in Australia, but I have recently wanted to root it. To do this I found I had to downgrade to Android 4.4, which I did successfully using the LG Flash Tool. It worked well, but it messed up at the same time. I actually flashed the European version of 4.4 over instead of an Optus version. As someone with little experience in the field, the European/International version seemed the right one since there was no Australian versions on the site. LG wouldn't replace the firmware unless I coughed up $350, seeing as I voided the warranty. After doing further digging online I found a Telstra version of the LG G3 firmware but the phone repair shop said that flashing a Telstra version over would lock it to telstra and that I would require a Telstra sim to use the phone! At the moment my phone is functioning okay, I'm able to text, call and mobile data and wifi both work. The issue is the missing Australian apps and the many European ones that aren't mine. Also out of curiosity, has the European G3 received 5.0 yet? It didn't show up in the software updater for me. Looking for any advice I can get with this... If you have any further questions about the functionality I will reply as soon as I can.
Thanks!

Unbranded ftf for sgp771

Hi all, I've recently got the Z4 tablet and really like it (upgraded from Z2 tablet). The only thing is, I hate seeing the O2 splashscreen when turning it on. Is there an unbranded ftf for the UK?. I'm not bothered about unlocking it as I have an O2 SIM with data package.
If there is one then could somebody post me a download link that doesn't require me to purchase a premium account to download it.
Thanks in advance
Scotty

Flashing FTF from SGP521 to SGP561?

Hi guys,
I have been reading forum couple days and still don't have clear understanding of situation with firmware for Z2 tablet.
I have Z2 SGP561 (locked to Verizon) and stuck with 4.4.2 (no root) and want to upgrade it to 5.1 or 6.0.1 + root
There is very good article that describes how to flash ANY firmware build for ANY Sony Xperia device
http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/03/12/install-xperia-marshmallow-using-flashtool-and-xperifirm-guide/
But it doesn't describe what will happen with device if I flash firmware from another model.
Can anyone explain - will I brick my SGP561 if I flash it using FTF for SGP521 (Network: GLOBAL-LTE, Version: 23.5.A.1.291 / R3D)
for example from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2-tablet/general/ftf-vmo-ru-ua-kz-t3433098/
What will be result? Device will loose radio module? or loose some radio bands?
or FTF doesn't touch radio and I will latest available android with no issues?
Thanks.
It should not flash as your SGP561 is a Verizon only Model. I have the SGP521 that is the unlocked world model. Verizon likes to lock down devices and I don't know if that model has the bands for other phone carriers. (The firmware for the SGP521 is going to change the band menu to look for this) you may no longer get a signal and the 521 has phone calling support that I know Verizon blocks. I would search the forums to see if a update for Verizon is around as it is never a good idea to try and mix device firmware.
