How can I make my own .zip files with say the latest twrp 2.8.1.0 that can be flashed in recovery let's say since I can't find most I'd like to be able to jus extract the file if need be and create my own flashable .zip on my i9100m

you need a valid update.zip file or use any of the templates that are available all over.
now extract the system files from tar file, extract the boot.img and copy them to the update.zip file(delete the older files in the zip before)

You've changed the zip-file? Or not?
Maybe try to redownload the file and try again.
Which rom and kernel are you on now? And which one do you try to flash?
You'll need a updater script and updater binary for your OS version.. Try to get any from one of the many forums
The META-INF Folder already has those files, so in ur case just add ur files into that zip and remove the ones from the existing mods..
Hi. This isn't really original at the core, but I haven't seen many flashable zips for new recoveries in this forum.
It's not original development so it goes in general.
It's easy to make recoveries flashable if you have the recovery .img file. I use a modified kernel flashing zip file... johnnysit's newest recovery complains about the update-binary but is sophisticated enough to take care of using it anyway.
Drop the .img into the /kernel folder of the zip. Modify META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script by replacing generic_recovery.img with the filename of your recovery .img.
Rename the containing zip appropriately and sign or don't.
This template contains an empty .img and shouldn't flash. I wouldn't try it unmodified unless you're prepared to replace the recovery afterwards.

hi, I would like to propose a question. I have a Roma in rar format (not flashable in recovery), how can I convert it (if you can) in zip so you can flash with the recovery? It states that the net the rom zip format is unobtainable. thank you.
After a failed online nandroid backup recovery I just shake my head.... not again. Don't want to flash stock rom, root, custom recovery flash path again!
So, I really like to create a flashable rom from my old backup. I just lack the meta-inf.
All these make flashable threads say get the meta-inf folder from any rom. I don't think that it is THAT easy.

Where can I get a working meta-inf file for Samsung S5 G901F, that I do not need to alter or just works?
