Hi all,
I am fairly new to android. Now running the latest version of ICS for global version of Xperia S.
Wanted to root and install Cyanogen..
Here's what I did.
Unlocked bootloader the official way. (worked)
Used Flashtool to flash CWM img (the one that is used for xperia s)
Now the phone is stuck in CWM bootloop. There is no way it would boot in normal mode.
I am desperate here. Is there anyway to revert it back? Anything at all? Half panicking.
Any help would be appreciated.. Please help.
Hold the volume up and power button until it vibrates 3 times, then it's off. Flash a stock rom with flashtool and start again

Thank you. How do I flash a stock ROM? And where can I find a link? I have flashtool with me...
Can anyone help? I got the stock rom from a website and added it to flashtool firmware list...
The next prompt is to start the phone holding the back key.. but it still boots to CWM...
what to do now?
Use volume down key while plugging in and thats all, not back key. FlashTool was originally for the X10i which uses the back key. Make sure you've powered off properly with the 3 vibrates first too
Oh and stock roms are all here - http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/

Figured it out!! Thanks!! Back on stock rom.. I flashed the CZ one which was the only one available. I live in India. Would that be of any issue??
Btw, how do I flash Custom Firmware now? Install recovery and flash? Any links?
Just fastboot a custom kernel like xsspeed v7 and stick with the 2.50 firmware in my opinion

No.
Nope, just follow the fastboot guides on the sticky in the development section. It's very easy to do

Hi Guys!
Since the jflte family of devices is almost exactly the same I thought I would post my I9505 (jflte) Rom here for you as well!
It has been tested by jfltetmo and jfltecan users and is confirmed working!
To install it, just download the I9505 rom and then flash the appropriate device specific package I created.
Download the rom from this thread
Download the appropriate device specific package
Install CWM or TWRP recovery.
Boot into recovery, install ROM, then install the device specific package then install gapps.
Wipe Data/Factory Reset if coming from another Rom.
Reboot and enjoy!
Your device name might show up as I9505. If you are bothered by it you can edit the file /system/build.prop in the rom .zip package before you flash it.
This does not affect the way the rom functions in any way.
Please let me know if you have successfully installed and running this rom on any of the US variants of the S4. I don't own the device!

If you have TWRP or one of the other recoveries installed you can flash it in the recovery.

Yes that usually pops on a loki issue if im not mistaken. So your steps would be to flash the rom, flash your preferred kernel(i personally like the chronic kernel) then flash your gapps package.

Is this thread still alive or what. I grabbed the rootbox stable and nightly version from goo. And I got to say is pretty solid feeling. I can't find a support thread for these releases unfortunately data doesn't work on either build. All the other junk ass aosp builds have data. I would like to achive data or at least find a support thread.
Any ideas suggestions or input is appreciated Thanks

Can anyone help me? My phone reboots when I power it up. I use latest phantom kernel with stock Rom. So, I hold the power button, the phone turns on, I see the phantom kernel logo, then I see the Xperia logo, it kinda blinks for a second, when it reappears it does it again, then it continues for 2 seconds, I see the Sony waves thingy, the same thing happens 2-3 times, then it reboots and loads as if nothing happened!(or it does it again 1 more time)
The weird part is that it was alright a few days ago but this thing has scared the heck out of me! Help me pls!

That's the rom bootlooping. It could be caused by any problem. If it finally boots then it should not be a problem. (but I guess you should backup your data if problem increases (I suggest using Onandroid as you can make full nandroids without booting into recovery)) alternatively you can try to remove your int.d scripts and see if it helps. But make a nandroid before trying anything)

What do you mean init.d scripts? I don't even know what they are, I only know that I enabled init.d support from pimp my Rom app...

I believe the Phantom kernel has init.d support built-in.
You can check to see if you have any init.d scripts in /etc/init.d with Root Explorer or FX file manager with FX Root Access or any file manager that can access the root fs.
Can you still go to the home screen? If not, the best bet is that you need to re-install the ROM. Bootloops happened to me many times while playing with my Xperia, installing custom fonts, and due to that I never got scared of bootloops anymore cause I can always revive my Xperia.
Install the ROM again if you experience bootloops. Cheers
No I can still use it after 1 or 2 bootloops

Hi,
I am pretty new to this so sorry in advance for unnecessary questions
I recently installed the romaur on my D6503 Xperia z2 and think it's awesome so far.Using the doomkernel 5 at the moment and thinking of upgrading to 7.
My question: Is it safe to assume that this version (and future releases of doomkernel ) will work with romaur or should I be cautious, how does it usually work?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
all versions should be compatible with eachother unless your jumping android versions
both doomkernel and rom aur are 4.4.2 and i see no reason at all why there will be issues

I'm assuming your using Romaur 2.2 or lower with Doomkernel 5 since that is for .69 firmware.
Doomkernel 6 and 7 is for Romaur 3.0 as it's made for .402 firmware.
You will have to upgrade to Romaur 3.0 to use Doomkernel 7.
If you want to upgrade, download Romaur 3.0 and Doomkernel 7 to you external SD card
Boot into TWRP recovery (keep pressing volume down when you see Sony logo after reboot), wipe data (dont wipe externalSD), format
Restart into recovery, you'll be taken back to CWM recovery
Flash Romaur (don't restart), flash Doomkernel, then restart
I see. Thank you for a great answer!

I can’t seem to find the 3.0 version of Romaur, looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723935 and clicking the
RomAur v3.0-link but it does not lead me to any kind of download page.
Are there som kind of place here at xda that works as a download page where i can find all the diffrent roms or am i looking at the right place

You also need to download the .402 fw. Don't install doomkernel v6/7 on .69 or earlier.
Sendt fra min D6503
Okay, so to put all of this together in correct order:
1) Flash "Kernel and baseband .402 d6503" using flashtool.
2) Download Romaur 3.0 and Doomkernel 7 and put on external SD card.
3) Boot into TWRP recovery (keep pressing volume down when you see Sony logo after reboot), wipe data (dont wipe externalSD), format (i never realized that i had both cwm and twrp installed )
4) Restart into recovery, you'll be taken back to CWM recovery and then flash Romaur (don't restart), flash Doomkernel, then restart.
Does that sound about right?
I really appreciate the help I’m getting from you guys.

I never flashed the .402 firmware and baseband in flashtool or anything coming from .69 (Romaur) 2.2
I just did the exact steps i listed in previous post, except I installed advance doomkernel v04 since v06 and v07 weren't available when I flashed Romaur 3.0
Heres the link to the advance kernel, put on your SDcard in case you get a bootloop after flashing Romaur 3.0 with v06/07 kenel.

I don't want to be responsible for you bricking your phone, but the steps I listed in my previous post is exactly what I did coming from Romaur 2.2
You lose X-reality though, so flash the .402 firmware if you want to keep X-reality.
I restored a backup from before romaur, installed doomkernel 7.0 and then installed romaur 3.0. This seems to be working so far. How can I see if X-reality is working? I can check and uncheck the box but I am not sure it actually does anything

Turn on X-reality, go to album app and look at a picture, take screenshot
Turn off X-reality, go to album app open same picture and take screenshot, while X-reality is off, flick through both pictures and see if you notice a difference.
You could also upload the pics onto your PC to see if there's a difference.
I think on Romaur 3, you have to download the X-reality zip
There is no difference in mine, but I don't care since I don't have it on anways.

this seems to be a device fault
