Hey guys. So a few weeks back I went from KG3 to KG6. Packet data was working fine on KG3(2.3.3) but when I would go to KG6(2.3.4) the packet data would not work. I did some searching on the internet and found a person that has the same problem, and luckily, also a solution. A little bit ago I had to factory reset my phone due to a boot loop error after flashing an update for a custom rom (Exynos Extreme 4.2). I am back on 3.5 base version, but my packet data will not work, and unfortunately I cannot find that thread that had the correct APN settings to allow my phone to work on KG6. If anybody knows anything about this or that thread I would greatly appreciate it. Oh, and I'm on AT&T HSPA+. Thanks.
Hi MColletti12!
Before you do anything it's always a good idea to back up your APN settings just in case something like this happens!
Hope you find the right APN settings.

I apologize in advance if this was addressed before, I couldnt find a thread that answered my issue.
My phone doesn't cannot to data anymore.
I have been flashing different roms pretty frequently, and I am currently on SpeedRom 7.8
For the past month, data hasn't been working on the different roms I have been using. I don't know what is the cause for this issue.
This issue started when i installed SpeedRom 7.5. From there i jumped from one rom to the next, with data not working.
Can you of guys help me with my predicament?
Thank you

Go to Settings - Data Usage and make sure Mobile Data is "On". This gets turned off sometimes when flashing new ROMs or by accident.

I just checked and It's definetely on.
To expand and clarify the issue, when I turn the data on, there is no data icon at the top of the status bar beside the network strength icon.

This happens to me occasionally, and my fix for this is to turn airplane mode on and off. It works for me, but I don't know if it will for you though.

this should be posted in op of liquid smooth so the developer can be made aware of it and also reported on bug tracker so a fix can be worked upon. by posting here general public will help but the developer might not. just a suggestion for now and future references to rom issues

Thanks for the tip man but I can't post on developer pages for some reason I think cuz I haven't posted enough? I'm a newbie or whatever but all I had to do is UPDATE ROM to 2.2 and it works fine! Must be on 4G though for me
update to 2.3 and working
I'm shure that you now WiFi or mobile data must be ON when whant to send an MMS!
Hi All,
My Droid DNA is currently running CM11 M7 release. I have been experiencing network signal loss around 3-4 times a day. Every time I lose the signal, my phone automatically restarts and acquires the signal back.
Previously, before updating to M7, a month back I was on one of the May Nightlies (forgot the date and lost the backup too) and was not seeing this issue.
What could possibly be wrong? Do you think I should update the radio, hboot or go back to some other version of CM?
Your responses are much appreciated!
Thanks,
Did you do a full wipe before updating?

Yup, try a full wipe (dalvik, cache, data, and system...restore NOTHING).

Yes, I tried wiping the dalvik along with cache, data and kept it under monitoring for 1 full day to see the problem and yes, it did restart again. So, no, I dont think wiping dalvik, cache data is helping!
What about the system? Do you mean to say, I need to install the firmware and stuff? Please advise.
Thanks

Nothing changed in CM that would require the new radio. It is always possible something changed at Verizon requiring the new radios though.
Next time it happens grab all the logs using the SysLog app by tortel and send them to me in a PM.

thanks for your response!
I have downloaded the app now. Its actually difficult to capture the logs just before the phone restarts as I don't know the time it happens. But let me try and see what I can capture.
Thanks
EDIT - Hi @crpalmer, I have been trying to get hold of the logs. However, I am unable to as I exactly don't know when the system will restart. Question is, do you need the logs just before the restart or is it okay to get it after the restart too? If you need them after the restart, is there a time-line before which I can capture them?
Please advise.

You can usually find the log from the last reboot by running the following adb commands. This *should* show any errors that were causing the freeze/reboot.
adb pull /proc/last_kmsg
It appears you can also do this through SysLog by sharing the 'Last Kernel Log'.

UPDATE - Just an update to people who may be following this thread
I did provide the logs to @crpalmer. His response
"There isn't much there. All it says is that it failed to bring some hardware back online after sleeping. I've seen that once before and thought it was likely a sign of a hardware problem."
He also pointed me to https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-4205 where they are tracking this problem which is similar to mine.
However, after having reported this issue with my phone, my phone never has restarted because of this problem. Its been more than 150 hours since my phone last restarted. Note that there has been no change in my phone updates or anything similar.
I am still following the above link and hoping that it will be included in one of the nightlies.
Thank you,

FYI, the person that reported the jira issue ran a test build (with a change made for this problem) for 3 days (it usually rebooted for him within a few minutes) so it was merged today.

Ok so i have the tmobile sim in my verizon phone I am using the fast.T-Mobile.com apn settings I'm in a 4g area. The stock lollipop Rom has an issue with syncing hangouts and gmail. In order to force sync,IPv6 is manually disabled every 1 minute. When that happens, your data connection resets, and you see your phone go up through the speed technologies.

Well that sucks lol. What would you recommend? I'd just like to stop cycling through the data 4g, 3g ect.

This is probably what you seek, but a word of warning; I haven't tried any of this myself. I don't know whether this will work or break your phone. If I were trying to do this, I would probably just comment out that second line (put a '#' in front), but if you start getting sync problems, this will probably be why.

The thread you posted seems to,only refer to Wi-Fi issues and syncing.... I am not connected to Wi-Fi. I read that when they disconnect Wi-Fi there phones are fine with data..... Not sure I wanna delete anything like that off my phone when I'm not, sure off this will help. Of I went back to stock kk would I still have this issue?

Theoretically you won't still have this problem if you go back to KK. I haven't gone back to KK since I took the plunge into LP, so don't quote me on that. In fact, if you just install the stock LP ROM, you won't have this problem any more as well.
OR, you could install Jasmine 5.0, and then upgrade it to something like 5.0.7 or 5.0.8, which ever one was before the IPv6 fix started getting baked into the Rom. That's probably what I would do, but I haven't tried SkyDragon yet, so I don't know what I'm missing.

If you don't like the Edge > 3G > H+ > LTE, don't use 5.0.11, I'm on that, and it happens to me. I'm also Unlocked and on the T-Mobile network, just like you. It didn't happen to me at all before the IPv6 stuff started going into the Rom. And I also didn't have any sync issues.

You'll have to follow the steps from the 5.0 post. Extract the files to /sdcard/ and then do some shell commands in TWRP. Takes you out of your comfort zone a little, but it worked for me.
