i love the htc calendar widget, except that its off by one day. for example, tomorrow is my friends birthday, which is an all day event. my hero widget says its today. same thing happens if i have an appointment set for tomorrow. in the calendar it shows up properly. if my friends birthday was in two days, today it would show the event as "tomorrow" and tomorrow it would show it as "today." any ideas/help?
nobody else has this or knows how to fix it?
I have the same problem but don't know how to fix it. I'm also not able edit the event either.
This is kinda strange. I have this 'error' on just one of my contacts birthdays. All other contacts/tascs etc gets the correct date.
yeah, its doing it on every calendar event for me.
I had this issue over the weekend, but a restart of the phone SEEMS to have fixed it...
same problem.. i think its the manufacture problem..
What Rom Code did you use? No issue with my stock Rom code.

stock. issue still remains with 1.56
I have had this issue on three Sprint Hero's. The problem occurs only with All-Day appointments, and it happens in two places: on the "Event Details" screen and in the smaller of the two HTC Calendar widgets. In all other places (the main calendar, the event editing screen) the dates are fine. It is an infuriating bug, and makes the smaller of the two calendar widgets unusable. I thought HTC would surely fix it in the first maintenance release, but they did not! How something like this could get past QA is amazing...!
Change time zone
Did you change time zone when the issue happened? it may the root cause.

I got syncing working between Outlook and the Google Calendar site ... so I can see all my events and such on the Google Calendar website.
What isnt working is the sync with my Tab 10.1 ... I can see the calendar name on the Tab (and it changes on the Tab almost immediately when I change the calendar name on the website) but none of the events ever sync down to the device.
I've tried removing my google account and setting it back up, tried just turning sync on/off, tried powering off/on ... any one else having this issue and/or solved it? Thanks.
I am having the same exact issues you are. When I'm out and about I set all my calander events on my evo. Non of them however transfer over to my tab. I made sure auto sync is on and even tried manually hitting the sync button but no dice. Its easier to view mybdaynahead on my tab. Hopefully next update take all GT 10.1s from a beta feel to a solid feel. On my second GT10.1 already :-(
" hang on to your dookie, its about to get spooky "
So between this issue and a few others I factory reset my SGT last night and magically the Google Calendar is working perfectly now (so far). :-/
Not sure if my answer apply, but I sync with exchange and that work fine at least.
I think I'm having the same issue, or at least I'm sure that the calendar widgets don't show all the synched appointments in my calendars...

the calendar widget is garbage, because it only displays your events for the week. download WIZZ from the market, it has a much better agenda widget.
Having a problem with my calendar. If I create an event, it will show up on my phone just fine but if I check my calendar on the computer the events aren't showing up. Now the calendar was working just fine while I was still stock rooted. The problem didn't start until I flashed a custom rom last week. Now it doesn't matter which rom I flash the problem is still there. I'm getting real pissed.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of a solution?
The HTC calendar can sync with our computers? Damn, I'm finding more and more stuff to do with this phone.

Well, I used to. Somethings not right now though. me and my wife share a calendar so we both can see the schedule. Mine was working fine when I was stock & stock rooted but ever since I flashed the first custom rom last week it stopped working. None of the events I create will show up on my wife's phone or in google calendar on the computer. It's weird though because I can see the events she creates just fine. I've tried 3 different roms now and all the same results.
I know you have probably already tried this but make sure "calendar" is set up to sync in the respective google account. Do this from settings/accounts/then the account. If that is checked go to the calander app (htc sense one in the app drawer) then at the top you will see a little drop down carrot. tap the top bar and make sure your calander is listed there. if it isn't then you can try to clear data on "calendar" "calendar storage" and "google calendar sync" Hopefully one of the above works for you. I have had a similar problem when I used Titanium backup to restore system data. Good luck hope this helps.

I tried all of those and nothing. Also, I never use TB to restore system data just to avoid any issues. The weirdest thing is that I can see the events that my wife creates but my events won't write to the google account. I've never had this problem while I was stock or stock rooted or on my og evo. Now I've tried 3 different roms and all the same.
You've got to be kidding me, lol. I've never had this happen before. I figured out the calendar issue. I was messing around with it some more today and what happened was, it was stuck on pc sync. When you open up the calendar up it tells you at the top which calendar will be synced. I have never noticed that before. I've never had to change it. All I had to do was add the gmail account that I wanted to use and set it to sync just the calendar and I was good to go. I feel like an idiot, lmfao.
Tried to search if everyone was aware of this problem. Don't see any references, so posting in hopes it would help others.
If you just flashed one of the awesome ICS ROMs out there and getting constant FC with the error "Google Calendar Sync Has Stopped", you may be experiencing what I have. Note: This doesn't seem to affect all ICS ROMs as I didnt have this issue with Seraphim, but I'm on Objection right now and this is exactly what is going on with my Calendar.
I've been troubleshooting, installing/uninstalling system apks, finding workarounds and have had no luck figuring this one out. At first I thought it was just an exchange issue (another problem i wont get into). But after searching the web it looks to be a known issue with "Recurring Event" and the ICS sync engine. Because I had problems with Exchange Sync on my device, I ended up syncing my Exchange Calendar with Google using a third party app (gSyncit), so I have multiple recurring meetings in my Google Calendar.
Here is an excerpt from 'ISTAR' in a google groups thread:
"The problem appears when you have eventfull calendars, with repeating events. It looks like not all of them are able to be processed with Android sync daemon. Here is the threat discussing that issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23175 Depending from your calendar there could be 1 or more events bothering that app. So you have to identify them and recreate it or if you got unlucky: refrain from using such pattern.
The easiest way to identify the wrecker is 1) to install log reading app, e.g. aLogcat from Market, 2) Go Setting->Accounts->Google->UnCheck/Check Calendar wait for the error "google calendar sync has stopped" 3) run to aLogcat, pause and scroll to the red lines, saying something like "error in recurring pattern =MO TU WE, etc." The error text can vary depending from the nature of your problem. 4) Try to identify which one is bad event and remove it from all calendars. 5) Resync and go to step 1 if error appears again. After 2-3 iteration you should vanish all your malicious events.
And I don't think google will fix it fast. The problem is being known since December 11, and still in progress.
Good luck!"
I confirmed this by following his steps and removed all my recurring events one-by-one until Calendar synced successfully without the FC.
Since I haven't been able to get Exchange sync or Google Calendar Sync to work with my work email. I've resorted to using Touchdown as the solution, until this is fixed or until I find a better workaround.
Hopefully someone finds this helpful, or can provide me with a solution.
No issues with calendar sync on that Rom here....recurring events and new events sync fine.
Which version of the Rom are you using
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
im on the newest objection 2. seems that this is only affecting a handful of people (only two others on the dev thread has mentioned it). it could possibly be a way that google calendar saves exchange items in its database and unable to process it on the device. dont know. frustrating. ive also tried taking the seraphim calendar apk and dropping it in with no luck. so im stumped.
this is the only issue from making my device perfect with objection which i think is the cleanest cooked up rom
It definitely could be an exchange issue.
I do not use exchange so have no way of testing
There's an app for it
I had this issue after updating my Galaxy Note to ICS 4.0.3. Calendar sync caused forced close and no data was synced. Bought an app called CalenGoo for less than EUR5 after confirming with the very helpful dev that it is not reliant on the defective ICS sync engine. Got everything up and running in seconds!
Deleting recurring events (weekly meetings with colleagues etc) is simply not something anyone who uses their Google calendar for anything serious is going to do. And again no guarantee that adding the meetings again would not just cause the same problem. Rather buy a phone that works.
Also tried deleting my corporate google account from the phone and re-adding it (my personal account synced just fine). Not intrigued to factory reset the phone and restore all apps and lose their settings etc. while there is no guarantee that it would do any good.
It is ridiculous that Google/Samsung would release this kind of defective crap, and makes you think what else might be wrong with ICS if QA is this bad.
Fixed my issue!
Hi,
Thanks for sharing this information!
I use gSyncIt to sync from Outlook to Google, then Google Calendar Sync to sync from Google to an Asus Transformer TF101. It worked fine until I upgraded from Honeycomb to ICS and my main calendar failed to sync from that point on, with the dreaded "Sorry" message.
I followed the tips in the first post and discovered I had only one problematic recurring calendar entry. It used this Outlook pattern:
Weekly repeat, Mondays to Fridays only, started July 16, finished August 10
When I deleted it the sync worked OK. When I recreated it using this:
Daily repeat, weekdays only, started July 16, finished August 10it still didn't work. Mind you gSyncIt could be representing both of these patterns the same way in Google Calendar.
In the end I recreated the repeating calendar entry as 4 separate week long repeating events and it synced fine to Google and through to ICS.
So if you are running into this bug my suggestion would be to check for any daily recurring events that run longer than a week but exclude some days of the week (especially weekends). I have lots of other daily, weekly and monthly recurring events but this is the only one that had that pattern (and the only one that killed the syncing process).
Thanks,
Matt
OP - thanks for the info, been experiencing this since I've upgraded my Galaxy Note to ICS.
One thing to add upon the info on this thread -- it seems to me that when accessing, via the Google Calendar website, the events that cause the crashes, they seem to show a message "This event has a recurrence rule that cannot be edited in Google Calendar" next to the "Repeat:" checkbox of the event.
This might be easier to detect for you than searching the logs. Of course, you still have to go over all of your reoccurring events to find the offending ones.

thanks for showing a way out.. fishing for those offending entries...
Simple mistake maybe
Hi folks I thought I had this same problem as well but found out there was a simple solution. If the duplicate events have a different colour tab on the lefthand side it means they are coming from different calendar feeds and to stop this happening I just clicked on the drop down menu next to 'Calendar' top left of screen and unchecked everything apart from my Gmail email address & UK Holidays.
After that everything went back to normal ... simple mistake or just me?

There was one offending monthly reminder about my Evernote subscription, deleted the series, sync working now. Happy!
I have only Google Calendar (3 agendas thouhg - personal, professional, birthdays) and after I upgraded my Defy to ICS (Nightly build of 2012.05.29, Kernel CM9) I cannot sync Calendar anymore. Try out different Gapps, always cleaning/wiping cache/dalvik, but nothing seems to solve the problem. Not sure what else I could try. Has anyone find a solution/workaround?
Does anyone know a way I can display my FB friends birthdays on my Samsung calendar? I have Haxsync but it will only display events and does not give me the option for birthdays.
Same here
It is the same for me too and its annoying as hell !!! The Facebook Calendar sync option is just not available in S6 (check the first attachment) while it is working just fine in S4 (the second attachment). I also checked Lollipop versions of S4 and S5 - the calendar sync is there and working correctly and their Facebook apps are just the same version as on my S6 Edge. I can't see how Samsung managed to miss that or why they didn't include it.
Can anyway help or at least confirm if all S6 devices does not support it?
Try a third party app known as "Birthday Calender". I hope it will fulfill your requirements.

Thank you Chris but I don't see anything useful. There are several Birthday Calendar applications in Play Store but they are all separate apps and can NOT import in my Google Calendar. Also there is something wrong with all the S Planner - it is not showing other calendars I have in Google Calendar - just the primary one and I can not tell why. It can not even show the birthdays of the contacts I already have in Google Contacts and are synched to the phone!!! As I said annoying as hell...
Any ideas guys ?
ok..here´s the way how it will be working...
https://www.facebook.com/AndroidCalendarSyncApp
Hey folks, good news!
If you are new to using this app, or you just got a new Android device, you are probably pretty disappointed that the app no longer syncs birthdays. If you previously used version 0.8.0 on your device, the birthdays are still on your device and will not be deleted when you upgrade to version 0.8.1.
So, here's the good news. Version 0.8.0 still works, at least until April 30th. So, if you are new to the app and want to sync birthdays to your device before Graph API v1.0 officially expires, follow these steps:
1) Uninstall the version of the Calendar Sync app that you have now.
2) If you have the official Facebook app installed on your device, log out of the Facebook app.
3) Probably optional, but to be safe: Go to this page and remove the Android Calendar Sync app: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications
4) Go to your Android settings -> Security -> and enable "Unknown sources". This will allow you to install apps that you download from the web rather than from the Play store.
5) Download version 0.8.0 from here: http://www.shadowfury.net/files/download/29
6) Install version 0.8.0 and set it up like a new installation. Make sure you remember to turn on sync! „smile“-Emoticon
7) Force the Calendar Sync app, and you should see your friends' birthdays again on your calendar.
8) Make sure you go to the Play store and upgrade back to 0.8.1.1. The upgrade will not remove any of your pre-populated friends from your calendar.
9) It is very important that you upgrade back to 0.8.1.1 before the end of April 30th. If you are still using version 0.8.0 on May 1st, that version of the app will stop working and you will lose all of your friends' birthdays with no option to recover them.

Thank you Alex-V, its working perfectly! I have one question though. If the Graph API 1.0 will expire on Apr 30th, why it is necessary to upgrade to 0.8.1.1 ? I don't mean to underrate your effort developing the app by any means and I am grateful that you did. I just want to know will it work in the future and if we will be able to sync any few facebook contacts.
great that it's also working for you.. I only repost that facebook site.. so I don't really now.. but I think the older version is for 1 and the newer for 2 and if you not update you will loose it again after 30 April.. BTW I wrote to facebook about it.. maybe do also..

Basically, the way the old app works:
1) Download all your friends from Facebook.
2) Check which are new birthdays, and add them
3) Update any birthdays that have changed (unlikely, but who knows?)
4) Delete any friends that are on your calendar, but not in the downloaded list.
Step 4 is necessary because, if you unfriend someone, you probably don't want their birthday on your calendar anymore...
When Graph v1.0 expires, Facebook will simply start forcing the old version of the app to use Graph v2.0, even if I haven't updated it to do so. Graph v2.0 will return a list of 0 friends when you try to download birthdays, and the app will then proceed to delete ALL your birthdays from the calendar. Since you can still technically download information about friends as long as they are also using the app, Facebook won't return an error, it will return a list of 0 friends.
v0.8.1.1 of the app will continue to sync your events, it just no longer syncs birthdays (and therefore doesn't delete birthdays from the calendar). So, the v0.8.1.1 app can keep your events up to date (if you like). Or, if you aren't using the app to download events at all, you could just disable the sync functionality and the app will never contact Facebook again.
As for the second question, I am working on a couple of updates for the app. A new version of the Facebook contact sync that conforms to Graph v2.0 is coming shortly. The next step after that is to implement an invite system. The invite system is fairly involved, so it'll take some time to get that out, but once v0.8.2 is release you will be able to sync new contacts as long as (1) the new contact is also using v0.8.2 or higher of the app --or-- (2) the new contact is willing to stop by my website to quickly authorize the app to have access to their information.
Stop by and like the App Page on Facebook if you want to get updates when I post new information.

The solution that I got to work for me is Hax sync in the Google Play store. The app has not been updated in awhile but it does work well still.

If it hasn't been updated in awhile, I have to assume it is going to fall to the same fate as my app will at the end of the month as far as birthdays go...
By the way, in case anyone happens to be interested, I posted a relatively short explanation of what is going on from a "privacy policy" perspective. It's really disappointing that Facebook made the changes they did, but there's at least a logical reason behind why they did it... I can't post direct links here yet, since I created a new user id for my development account, but if you use Alex's link above you can find the post on the Facebook app page. Or, a direct link: http www (shadowfury.net) /wiki/Facebookcalendarsync%3AFacebookPrivacyChanges
It is still probably worth writing Facebook to let them know what you think. I've been leaning on them pretty hard, but the more users that let them know what you want from the platform, the more likely they are to either: (1) be willing to work with developers on an exception to policy or (2) develop their own official capability <-- really why doesn't this capability already exist??
Again, sorry I can't post the direct link to Facebook's feedback site, but you can access it here:
http(s) (Facebook website) /help/contact/139819329438825
How it worked for me
Went into options menu (3 dots, right corner, up) > Calendars > Add account > and added the facebook account that was there allready. Then some permissions for facebook to access the device and my calendar synced with FB.
That's how it worked for me on my note edge
Hope it helpes.
