[Q] [Recommendations] Cheap S Charge Battery Doors? - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hi everyone.
I am look for a note 3 battery door identical to the official S Charge battery door from samsung. I don't really care for the qi charging capability as I use my phone with an audio line-out dock. What I really care about is a back cover that slightly elevates the camera lens when I rest the phone on a flat surface (A picture has been attached for illustration). Official S charge doors are pretty expensive, even off ebay. Are there any cheap doors that are designed like this? Most of the doors I have seen have the camera hump. The only door I have seen that is designed similarly to the S charge door are the metal doors but I don't want to use those because of signal and weight concerns. Any recommendations with links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance fellow note users!

[Q] Galaxy S2 Extended Battery Cover

As i cannot read German if anyone can, can you please tell me if this will ship worldwide?
Would love to get one of these!
Hi,

Link Fixed. Should work now
Personally i think you'd have to be an idiot to buy it..... a spare battery would be a lot cheaper.....
Well, it isn't shipping yet, nor does it say when it will ship.
Shipping to UK is €6 + €0,50 / kg which makes €7 tops (don't know what box it'll be in)
So it'll be €60,20, which is about 52,32 BP.
"Dieser Artikel ist noch nicht verfügbar." means it isn't shipping, so when it disappears you should be able to order it.

I have to agree an after-market battery may last longer and be a lot cheaper, besides this is kinda ugly to look at and adds so much bulk to the phone.

I have to disagree. After-market batteries almost never has the advertised mAh-capacity and therefore I would guess that after-market batteries would not exceed the capacity of the built in battery and this extended cover, which gives you 2950mAh total.
A 3000+mAh after-market battery is bound to be very thick, making the phone much thicker than this cover. With the cover the battery is thinner but spread out over a larger surface area, on after-market batteries they would have to be the same dimensions as the original battery, just thicker.
A large bump on the back of the phone is uglier than a protective shell around the phone, but that's just my opinion.
With a large after-market battery you are "doomed" to walk around with the extra thickness on the phone all the time. With the case you can use it to charge the phone and just leave the cover in the car/backpack/office etc.
As people who bothered to read my post would guess, I'm buying the cover

An OEM battery will be less than half the price of that extended case monstrosity......
It looks like its a piggy back job hooking into the existing USB charge port.
So you actually end up with a longer phone, not so much fatter, but longer.
Would be good to see in person. Should almost double the life, which as we know can be pretty short if you are messing about on the screen for any length of time!
You can see how it attaches if you go to the German amazon site. Would like to see in person tho to see how much bigger it makes the phone.
Id like the battery case but also the official Samsung dock ( ECR-D1A2BETSY)
(oops..hit submit by mistake on the last msg)
...but i am wondering if the phone Will fit in the dock with the extended case.. Since they are both official Samsung products, I am hoping it will...any thoughts?
Genuine one is on preorder at mobilefun.co.uk
Customer services told me it lands in 3 weeks

Extended Battery Case

Short version:
We would like an extended battery case that slips over our EVO LTE like much like a normal case would. This case would however have a USB that plugs into our phone and adds additional battery life. $49.99 will be a good price. Thanks.
P.S. If someone could please link to the site that makes these power packs, that would be great.
Schlong version:
2000 mAh stock battery won't cut it for me. It's big, but not BBC big. I'm use to a big 3500 mAh battery in my OG Hero/Epic 4G.
I need a nice, big, black, thick, powered battery case to go over my unit. This will ensure it's protected and juiced up. Ya, now getting back to the phone....
The thought of carrying around a big power brick to charge my phone is just disgusting and IDK when it became acceptable to XDA users to do this. You didn't do this when you bought your extended battery for your OG Epic 4G. Might as well just bring your charger and plug it in. I do own a 4000 mAh Energizer power brick and it's cool when I go camping or on road trips.......that's it. Not really on road trips because i'll use a cigarette lighter charger. That's much cooler and I get to annoy the driver and passenger as I sit on the floor between them.
I want to charge my phone over night and be set for two days. I need this power. It is not a question of will I use that much. Yes, yes I will. And you will too. We need an extended battery case similar to the Galaxy S II power pack on youtube. Look it up. You will cry out the code for HTC's kernel. Think about it. You know you want it.
Someting like this

Yes. That's it. The button on the side is hideous.
Sent from my wife's purple Optimus.
The button on the side is the Micro USB adapter that you are using to charge your phone. No button no charge.
Will
I'm looking for something just like that. Hopefully since HTC is moving towards non-removable batteries more companies will put out these kind of products.
i wouldn't mind a case that has a built in swappable battery, and wireless charging
I want one of these for our new phones!!
removed
Having the plug stuck out like that on the silicone portion of the case scares me. Coming from the OG Evo, I'm experiencing the dead usb port problem, which is caused mostly by USB cords being pulled/weighted (e.g. usb cords in cars pulling from below while on landscape). I almost think that something like this needs to be a two piece hard case that slides together from the sides and prevents any flexing of the plug, otherwise we're going to see something like a user accidentally swiping a hard surface with the plug side of the phone and breaking the usb port. Of course, no interchangeable batteries makes this situation a really tough one.
Might be interested if the case WASN'T Silicone... that **** is horrible. Now, TPU or something better like the material used for the Speck iCrap phones, I'm sold!
Check my thread on the official extended battery request.
Seidio is making one.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
There is a case being made by seidio
there is a case like that being made from seidio and slated for a july release.....
well i just saw the seidio power case for the iphone, and im very optomistic based on the design for the battery case that it wont add as much bulk as xpal powerskin would add. http://youtu.be/nlfJmmYjPKU
It looks pretty slim before the silicone is added on.
I assume since this is seidio first battery case that their version for the evo 4g lte will look very similar.

Wireless Charging Back Cover

Black one in stock now: http://www.mobilefun.com/47945-official-samsung-galaxy-alpha-qi-wireless-charging-cover-black.htm
White one on preorder: http://www.mobilefun.com/47948-official-samsung-galaxy-alpha-qi-wireless-charging-cover-white.htm
For wireless charging how does this exactly work?
It works by induction. You need a special charging station (read: a square box that is resting on your nightstand from now on), where you can put your phone on. You don't have to fiddle with plugs.
The charging station works with a standard USB connection and for your phone you need the above mentioned back cover, with is a complete replacement for the existing backplate. The special back cover contains all the electronics and contact pins to connect with the phones battery.
looks like it make the phone super thick!!! Plus cant use with any cases

Of course, they have to place the coil somewhere, it's just a sacrifice you have to make for having the convenience. Also most flexable rubber/silicone cases do work because they stretch (I just prefer to go without them for the sake of ruining the design of the phone).
It should be arriving here by end of week and I'll be sure to take a few pics for you guys.
FYI, I have purchased a wireless charging back for every single Samsung device I have ever owned so I have plenty of experience (S3, S4, Note 3, and currently S5)
I was running the wireless charging back on my LG G3 so I have some experience as well. That back only added 1 millimeter to the thickness...I measured it. Just better design. I have the alpha and I'm currently testing next to the iPhone 6. Liking both phones alot. Need to test battery life

The most disappointing thing about the wireless charging back cover, other than its extra thickness which makes it less flush, is on the standard cover, the SAMSUNG logo is shiny and embossed, giving the same effect as the metallic edging. On the wireless charging cover, its matte and flat like a cheap tacky plastic print. Not at all in-keeping with the quality of the rest of the phone.

Hmm this is quite strange, usually Samsung does not cheap out on those wireless charging back covers and try to make it as identical to original as possible (at least on all the models I've used them on). Perhaps they didn't spend as much into this one due to the lack of popularity/demand for this device. Still surprises me though, it should cost cheaper in that case as well.
@jerflash: Actually on the S5 the gain in thickness is almost not noticeable. My dad uses one and switched backcovers and you don't see it.
Inductive coils are super thin copperwires that need next to no room for themselves.
I bought one of these for my note 3 and even though it did give it some weight and thickness, the battery cover was thick enough that the camera lens would not come in contact when places on a flat surface which was nice.

That is the wireless charging cover of the Alpha right? Can you tell me if it has magnets in it for alignment? I'm trying to build a car dock with magnetic attachment like the Nexus 5 and wonder if this cover for the Alpha would let me do that.

And it works? I emailed Samsung and they told me there are no qi chafgers that work with the Alpha. If youre saying it works I might actually buy it and build a magnetic charger for it so I can dock in my car. Thanks!
They also confirmed thr Alpha has OIS.

It definitely works (using it daily at work) so whoever you talked to has no idea what they're talking about. Wouldn't be the first time honestly.
That wireless charging cover looks super ugly and so doesn't fit the amazing design of the rest of the pone. Not sure what Samsung was thinking when making such a poor looking charging cover.

Thay confirmed OIS,i try to find out anywhere this info but I only find in one US site nowhere else
is it possable that Alpha has OIS
Can you shere this info with us m8
Could you please tell me whether the extra thickness of the cover makes it impossible to fit a case over it? I have in mind a flip case.
Samsung do not yet list a wireless charging back on their web site for the Galaxy Alpha. I wonder if this is a picture of the back for the bigger battery.
I got my official wireless charging back. Unfortunately, it does make the phone slightly thicker which means cases are not going to fit over it. I tried a cheap plastic soft case which I thought would stretch enough to fit but it didn't. So I had better not drop my phone.....
Otherwise, the wireless charging works fine with a Nokia DT desktop charger.

ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy S7 7500mAh Battery Case (not for EDGE) quick review

Hi All,
I have been getting more from this forum than giving away so I decided to give away some insights into how I perceive the new Zerolemon arrival.
I purchased this case and I am not involved in reviewers program of any sort. I still have my galaxy s3 with zerolemon. Therefore, as soon as I got S7 I purchased zerolemon for it to keep me going.
I will keep it short and to the point:
1. General built quality I can't complain about. Thus in case of a drop I dare to say Zerolemon for S3 Rugged Case (the older version) seems to offer more protection. Don't take it for granted.
2. In terms of the size this case is massive although when you look and compare with the one for S3 it's just slightly thicker but considerably longer due to the built-in port at the bottom (well that is a downside of galaxy s7 with built in battery). The size of it in my opinion just just too big to carry in my jeans' pocket (see pics). I even think that I would sacrifice the capacity over functionality so the case is a bit slimmer.
3. Ports and covers. Here is the main difference in terms of quality. On S3 case everything fits perfectly and holds in place. On the contrary the S7 case has design flaw especially when it comes to the cover for charging port. Once charged the cover does not stay shut for a long period of time so it might be easy to tear it of after some time and it is annoying. The culprit in my opinion is too shallow hole in the case and too short rubber which was supposed to click in that hole (please correct me as I do not know the description of this little ending protruding from the flap itself). This could be sorted by using similar solution like with the headphone port flap in S3 case. Alternatively, I was thinking about getting some good glue and apply a thin layer on that little thing so it is made a bit longer and keeps the flap closed right after charging.
4. I did not have much time to test how much juice I will get as I decided to return this battery but with a deep regret as I got used to juice wherever I am. I will just wait for a revised version or get other brands like Trianium which I thing do not offer that much capacity but it is slimmer.
5. There is a LED indicator showing you how much battery charge is left in the case and the charging button must be hold longer to discharge which is good. This prevents accidental charges in you pocket.
If you have some questions till I have this battery until Monday 12 September let me know.
Here is also the video with the flap issue: https://youtu.be/nNJqAB_I7fQ
Might as well carry my charger rather than this tank case which would be painful even while making calls or browsing.
Sent from my SM-G930FD using Taptalk
How dose the thickness compare to a Otterbox defender? I've had a zerolemon before on my note 2, now I'm thinking about getting one for my S7. I know they give dimensions online but I don't know how close they are to the actual size. Otterbox is .6 of a inch I believe I read somewhere and the zerolemon is .82. Thanks

Anyone know how this would compare to the PowerBear Battery case?
Whooaaa big bro why not tested it

Just wanted to provide a quick review for this case ... This thing is a lifesaver if you're in a bind and don't have access to your standard charging options! It is a bit bulky, obviously, but the trade off is worth it! 10,000 mAh gets two full charges so with this case your phone can easily last a few days ... great while camping!
There's no obstruction of the camera (any lense) so snapping pics isn't a problem. Also, you can charge the case and phone while the case is installed with superfast charging! I found Samsung DEX also works through the case too!
Would highly recommend this case! I also love having it around for when we lose power due to storms (which unfortunately has been quite frequent in my area) ... The piece of mind knowing that my phone won't die and I'll be able to stay informed of the situation and make emergency calls if needed is indispensable!
While I too think big numbers are better. This looks way too massive to actually be useful, their own description says it's as thick as 3 s23 ultras, that wouldn't fit in my pocket. Personally I'd just stick with the tiny 5000mAh Anker charger that is magsafe compatible for those that have a magsafe case and it has a nice USB c to c cable for charging the phone and itself. It's smaller than the phone and fits in my pocket with the phone.
This looks like a great concept for extreme users not everyday uses.
I have a 20000mAh portable battery pack that is less thick than this case would make my S23 Ultra so I'll probably just bring the battery pack when my husband forces me to go camping this summer lol
I also have this case, thanks to ZL for sending me a test unit. I really like the case even though it's something I'll use very sparingly. But for camping trips, this one will be a must. Low signal usually means awful battery and I'll for sure be slapping this case on to keep the phone going the entire weekend. I know battery packs are good too and I have one, this case really excels when you need to move around and still use your phone, and don't have to deal with extra cords.
I will say that ZL customer service is awesome too. I had a minor issue with my first test unit and they were willing to get another one sent out right away!
My suggestion is to get a magsafe case and a magsafe powerbank (I have ESR 10000mah) they go hand in hand and is much less uglier!
