Hi guys,
Basically I want the benefits of Smart Alert (the vibrate when you pick the phone up if you have a missed call or message), but because the default messaging client is rubbish, I use Handcent SMS. Unless I want to deal with the double notification from Messaging and Handcent, I can't seem to find a way to get Smart Alert to work with Handcent SMS.
Does anyone have any ideas as to if this is possible?
Also, a quick secondary question that may need it's own thread. On my SGS1 I used Tasker to sync my podcasts in the morning by turning on WiFi and Autosync. I tried to set up the same script I had before, but Auto-Sync 'is unavailable on this device' which is really grinding my gears.

Would be nice if this would work on Handcent. I set it as the default app for messaging. Maybe handcent has to fix this on their end.
It isn't a Handcent problem, it only works with the default messaging app.

Thanks for the quick response. Maybe some of the talented devs here can get that to work with handcent in the future.

I use Hancent too but I DO have smart sense working, what to do is set Handcent as the defualt app but in the STOCK messaging app make sure that Notification and auto receive are ON
Voila when received text I can read on Handcent but phone still vibrates until marked as read....I know its not full fix but atleast it works

I have been using this method, too. I wonder if Tasker could mimic the effects of Smart Alert?
Are there anyway to use different SMS notification for selected contacts? I need to get completely different notifications, for my phone new alerts. Is it possible?

Hello everyone,
Is there a way to turn off reminders for the stock email app. I will receive an email and then it keeps giving me additional notifications if I do not check the message. I want one notification, one alert and that's it. Can this be done somehow?

What version of android do you have? I never get more than one audible reminder and just the notification in the title bar.

Hi guys,
since I am more or less a newbie in modding devices, I need your assistance to solve my issue...
I am running a SGS 3 mini (GT-I8190) with BenzROM V3. Since this device doesn't feature an LED indicator for missed calls, SMS and mails I was happy to find the BLNMod which enables the softkeys for such kind of reminders.
After flashing and installing the BLN control app I discovered, that only missed calls are working. In the menu of BLN control app I found no option to enable SMS and mail. Researching a little I read, that the ROM has to support this kind of features.
Is there any possibility to get the softkeys blinking even for SMS (using Go SMS) and email (Aqua Mail)? Do I have to flash any other packages and where to find?
Or do I have to switch to another ROM completely?
Sorry, I'm a little bit lost.... Hope you can help.

Hey all.
Just curious if anyone has found and workarounds for sms messages on US carriers?
I use T-Mobile and have the normal issue of the default messages app sending and receiving group messages as separate texts. This was eventually fixed on the Vivo X Fold but required an update from Vivo. I can change to another app like Google Messages but only the first text I send to someone works. After that, subsequent attempts give me the pop up asking me to send a payment request message.

*EDIT* So anyone else that needs this, enable developer mode and toggle on disable permission monitoring. I.didnt have to uninstall the stock messages app.
