I bought an Xtreme 2.1 amp car charger but I noticed once charged my note 3 gets hot (110 F when I unplugged it).
Would using the oem cable be likely to help? The Motorola USB to micro plug cable I used did not cause overheating on an ac plug.
Can you suggest a car charger that works well without causing the phone to get hot?

Ah, no samsung stores here. Verizon carries there own not samsung. On eBay and Amazon terrible reviews so not sure it is oem even though they say it is. Do you know the model number you have?

Car Charger
Hi I am using this for car charging. USB outpu is coded for samsung so it can charge with full capacity (as wall charger)
http://dx.com/p/dual-usb-3-1a-car-c...-mini-samsung-p1000-black-171789#.UuV45NJajIU
Electronics in it has very high coversition efficiency (%95 effc. 14V to 5V conversition) so it will not heat up.
Two independent ports one 1A and other 2.1A
Wish helps,

ST Microelectronics L6910 and variants
It uses cheap but efficient STMicroelectronic chips,
So it is not a crap at the moment. But it can vary batch to batch on DX as always.
You seem to know a lot about electronics. Does the cable I use matter or is the charger primarily responsible for overheating?

1- if charger has low efficiency the loosed energy will turn to heat on charger. Generally efficiency is near 80% and it translate to near 2~3watt energy loose on full power. It will heat this little chargers very fast.
2- if the cable is too thin or connectors oxided, power loose on cable will heat cable, charger also phone. If the problem is cable charge time will decrease when cable heated. So if your charge time is ok, problem is dc-dc convertion efficiency.
You mention low efficiency getting charger hot. It wasn't., nor was the cable. Only the phone was hot.

chargers output voltage and ripple must be measured.
Voltage higher than 5.5V or voltage ripple can cause this. Charger voltage can ripple from 4V to 6V and you can only measure 5V avarage voltage with standart multimeters. Be carefull and do not use that charger.
Im using this one from Verizon. It works very well and has a handy led light

Anker® Dual Port USB 18W Car Charger
I just bought this one from Anker. http://amzn.com/B00DDLYCUW
Ran my n3 with gps, spotify, OutLoud reading my texts, all while driving and it was charging up, not draining.
Anker is a good company, Amazon is a good company, and you can't go wrong for $8.
I'm using a pny cigarette to USB adapter 2.1mah ($6 amazon) with a stock Samsung micro usb cable ($3 amazon) and my phone doesn't get hot

That's what I use and it's AWESOME!! It's got a 1 Amp port and 2.1 Amp port. Also, you get 2 in the package, one in white and one in black! Best deal online, not to mention the best charger I've used!!

You can try this?
I have a 2010 Mercedes c class and needed one that wouldn't stick out too much so I can shut the ash tray cover and this works well and charges fast.

Hi all, I am looking for a note 3 dock that uses the 2.0 amp charging? All the socks on ebay or Amazon are charging on 1 amp this taking 10 hrs to charge on a docking cradle. I was looking at the Samsung OEM dock, but the design on the dock looks very unstable and not reliable.

I've been using the OEM desk dock for over a year. It does charge at 2.0 amps with the OEM cable and charger that came with the phone. (The dock comes with the under 1 amp travel charger.) It is very stable even with the few thin cases I have used on my phone. I had problems with the Note 2 dock, but the Note 3 version is much more robust.
hello, my question is that i could use the charger of note 4? is more faster, 2a in front off 0,7a of gear fit charger...

Charging with Asus Nexus 7 (2012) charger (2 A) without any problems
I charge my Fit from my Note 4 charger with no issues whatsoever.

You can use any charger having the same voltage in output and at least the same mAh of the original gear fit charger. This is the common rule you can find on web.
I am new to the nexus 6 and I have a wireless charger I bought for me G2. It came with a wireless pad and cable. It says to use the charger your phone came with.
Well our Nexus 6's come with the super chargers...
Is it OK to use the wireless charger pad with our power chargers? Or should I purchase a 2 amp (or something different) charger to use with the wireless pad?
Just looking for advice. Thank you.

You can use the g2 charger as-is. It will just be slow. Won't damage the phone..
Well I sold the g2 with the charger. So I have the charger the nexus 6 came with. I am fine with slow charging as I put it on the pad then sleep at night. I just don't want to burn something up because we have the new style chargers. Maybe I'm wrong but I wanted to ask. Better safe than sorry.

The turbo charger adapts to what it is connected to... I charge my sony sw3 smartwatch with the turbo charger every night. It doesn't feel any faster.

This is probably the best one to use for QI Chargers.
I have about 5 of them I use for the 2 QI Chargers I have and for traveling.
I contacted the manufacturer of my qi charger and they said that I needed a 1.8 amp minimum charger to work the 3 coil system. They actually sell a 2 amp add on one. They had the answer all along.. I appreciate all the responses and help.

The standard turbo charger of the N6 has a capacity of 1,6 A. When the device connected is suitable for turbo (like the N6) it switches to turbo mode 1 or to mode 2 by setting the Volt to 9 or 12 V, but only when the battery is charged below 78%.
The wireless QI charging pads from China are connected to chargers with a capacity of 1 A. at 5 V.
This way of wireless charging works for my Nexus devices..
Has anyone tried the Unicorn Beetle case with the VÜ wireless charging car mount?
I ordered it, really hope it fits... Really nervous!

You can use an QC 2.0 charger on any phone without issues. The phones/devices PCU (power control unit) controls the output and pulls what it can from be charger. I have 5 or 6 QC 2.0 chargers including 3 Motorola 'turbo' ones and some others. I use these to power my qi pads, charge external batteries, charge my Huawei Watch (formerly charged my LG Urbane) and I've never had any issues at all.
I used the fast wireless charger with the Note 5 and it has been working with the S7 as well. I recently picked up the new Quick Charge 3.0 power brick and external battery pack. You can check them out HERE.
The battery pack is housed in aluminum so it feels pretty premium. It isn't in plastic like my RavPower ones. I've used multiple battery packs that output at 2.0 and above but they do not "quick charge." This one actually registers as fast charging on the S7 and the Note 5.
S7 and Note 5 do not support quick charge 3.0 but I figured better to be future proof. Two outputs for charging and two inputs, one micro USB and one USB C...again looking ahead to the Note 6 I want to be future proof.
Out of all three items, the battery pack is the most convenient. I was out last week and during the time I was in line to get a coffee and drink my coffee, the phone literally charged to provide me with another few hours of usage. I used to love swapping out batteries on the Note 3 and 4 and one thing I dislike is carrying around the phone tethered to the battery pack on the S6, Note 5, and now S7. This kind of fixes that because it charges so quickly. Just leave it charging while you eat or are seated and then just unplug when you're ready to start moving again.
How's the charging speed if you charge your quick charge 3.0 charge brick and power bank on your s7? Is it faster than 2.0 charger on S7?
It won't be any faster than a Quick Charge 2.0 charger.
