MediaPad get slow - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

dears
i have Media Pad M1 after i install 3 or 4 games and applications like Facebook whatsapp
the tablet get slow
any advice ??

REBOOT. Also, uninstall Facebook and whatsapp, your life will improve.
Also, there is this app on the home screen "managment of tablet device" or something to that effect, yellow icon with a "shield" in it. Run that once in a while too, helps with performance issues.

i always use it but with no effect

[Q] S3 I9300 is slow..

I am using stock ROM & JB 4.1.1 in my S3 GT I9300. But it sucks & working slow. Its taking 5 to 7 sec to open contacts & messages. When i use any app like i play game than after exit from app menu icons are also taking some seconds to come. Menu opening is also taking time.. all this sucks alot.Give any solution.
1) Factory reset
2) Root it and try custom rom
3) Sell it and get something else.

I'd suggest doing a factory reset also.
for contacts and texting, replace the stock apps (that indeed are a bit slow) by something else. I might suggest GO SMS pro for texting and exDialer for dialling and contacts. They are way faster (and on some points do sport more functionalities than the stock ones).
Now, for the redrawing of the desktop. The reason icons need to re-appear after you leave a game is that the phone did make more room for this game in memory by closing all the other apps, including the launcher. Therefore it needs to restart it totally when you quit the game. It take time.
Again, you may decide to go with an alternative launcher (I use Apex, but many others are available) in which you can control the staying in memory of the desktop or you might be able to force the TW launcher to stay in memory even if other apps are running. In anycase, doing that will be at the detriment of the game (or other memory hungry apps) performances (they will have less memory). Your decision!
Check free RAM
Go to Settings->Application Manager. Swipe left/right to get to the Running tab. Check if the amount of free RAM (at the bottom) is too low. If so find which apps are using most RAM and try killing them.

I think background apps still starting even when you paly games, because it's the way android works. Regarding kcryptd maybe this can help you, here.
Hmmm...backgrounds process can be disable using two apps....
1. Autorun Manager (Need pro to fully unlock all features)
2. System Cleanup
with autorun manager and system cleanup, you can disable certain apps receiver that make the apps auto start itself even after you have kill it....those receiver is mainly for the apps widgets receiver, broadcast receiver and CD2M receiver....if you disable those receiver (example widgets receiver) you can make the apps not restarting again and again but you will lose the option to add the app widgets on your home screen....if you disable the CD2M receiver (example facebook), you will never get any notifications/alert cause the facebook is not running on your phone backgrounds...you will only received the notifications/alert if you open facebook..
basically, i use autorun manager cause using that apps, you can view all apps receiver and disable it...once you have disable it, the apps will never restart again after reboot or after certain period of time....

[Q] My Mobile become slower after being Idle for a while.

Hello,
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
My mobile information.
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
i have Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102
Android 2.3.6.
I am using the Stock ROM, My mobile is rooted.
I am also using GO Launcher EX and Go Locker.
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
My Problem.
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
When i am using my phone for a while it is fast, for example switching the AppDrawer screens, Open Messenger close it again, Go to home screen instantly after pressing ( Home ).
but when i leave my mobile for a while ( 10min + ) it become slow ( when i unlock the screen the Home screen appear after a while, the app drawer take long time to load and is laggy while switching screens, opening an application take a while too.
Notes :
1- I Don't have any Auto-Task killer applications ( i had before but uninstalled it )
2- I noticed that my phone lose Internet Wifi connection too, because when i open FB messenger it show me the "Connecting" message.. i also doesn't receive notifications after leaving my phone idle for a while.
3- When i unlock the phone and start using it the notifications are revived ( delayed notification )
Well, your device has very low RAM. Apps like Facebook, Messenger and Go Launcher, use a lot of RAM. And if you have to much apps running at once, your phone will slow down. You can try Greenify app to hibernate some of these apps (Facebook for sure). A used to have a Galaxy Ace, and Greenify helped a lot.
About Wifi and delayed notifications, see in Wi-Fi settings if the option to keep it on during sleep is set to "always". If not, change it. That should solve the problem.

Thanks for your answer, but..
I Uninstalled facebook 2 months ago, And the problem is not that the mobile is generally running slow, the fact is while i am using it for more than 30 sec it start to be fast and keep to be fast until i lock it again.
but when i lock it and keep it for more than 10 minute and then re-use it, it run slow for about 30 second then start to be fast again ( which is not good when i want to do a fast call or something with such a delay )
i am suspecting that after the mobile be IDLE for a while the service and applications closes it self .. The launcher close itself ( thats why the mobile always delay ), the applications background service too ( thats why i get no notifications ).
so if my theory is right, what is the reason that cause this ?
Now I understood...
Well, I'm no android expert, but I know the system needs RAM to work. Some applicatins are cached in memory to open faster, without the need to be load all over again, but when the system runs low on memory, it tends to kill background applications/services to keep foreground apps in use.
Maybe your apps are not being cached, and/or being restarted for some reason right after the phone wakes, that could explain why your phone slow down a bit then get back to normal.
I hope some dev can explain it better.

Definitely low RAM can be a culprit, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least half the reason is the combo of Go Locker and Go Launcher. They are cool apps with all kinds of customizations, but have used them on multiple devices, even the most powerful ones at the time and have never been pleased with the performance vs other comparable apps. Especially if the Go lockscreen is fighting with the system one to see which one will turn on will you hit the power button and the RAM switching over to it in time when the phone wakes.
Another possible thing would be that the screen off profile is too aggressive and takes a bit to ramp up to normal speeds and get everything running again.
But try using a different combo for the lockscreen and launcher and see if it doesn't make a difference (make sure to kill the Go apps otherwise they will run in the background along side the new apps and make it worse). My $ is on that it will.

Extreme lag issues Xperia Pro (Lupus kernel + Ultimate HD ROM)

Good day all,
I am a proud owner of an Xperia Pro... Or was. I have this phone since 2011 and in order to keep using it I had to perform some major enchangements to keep it going.
The enchangements:
- Lupus stock plus kernel ICS
- Ultimate HD ROM
- Greenify (paid version)
- Link2SD (paid verison) all user apps are on ext2
- I/O = 'SIO'
- Governor = 'LagFree'
- CPU = '1018mhz'
There is no bloatware (removed it with Titanium Backup) on this phone, except for Google Play Services (which Tinder intended me to have in order to make use of it)
Now the issues. The phone is horribly slow sometimes, and has its moments that it reboots itself when it gets just a little heavy. Like, during navigation per bluetooth on car the phone reboots itself sometimes without a clue. Underneath here is a general list of what is wrong with the average usage on daily bases:
- Whatsapp sometimes takes avg 12 seconds to start
- Tinder takes avg 10 sec to start
- Browser (Dolphin) most times takes avg 5 seconds before I can use it.
- RootExplorer takes avg 5 seconds before I can use it.
- Quickpic takes 5 seconds before thumbnails are loaded
Please know that this is not always the issue, but most of the times: it is.
With several software I have tried to find the reason for this ridiculous lag, but I always seem to have enough RAM, internal memory and enough CPU so I don't know what is going on.
I also turned on the options to show ANR's in the background, it usually tells me either Whatsapp or Google Play that became an ANR, sometimes as a follow-up it says SystemUI ANR too.
I can re-flash the ROM and kernel but within a few days I will experience the same sh*t again.
Any other Xperia Pro user experience this? What are my options?
NOTE: I prefer not buying a new phone, in the Netherlands there are no such phones like the Xperia Pro anymore because of fashion reasons.
I'd like to give opinion on that CPU: the one 2011 Xperias use is severely slow by 2016 standards.
It's a single core 1 GHz CPU, what do you expect? I think it's like the Pentium 4 of phones; it may run new programs albeit really slowly. The internal memory and RAM may still have plenty of space, but its speed is also lacking. Do yourself a favor by saving a couple bucks and get a newer phone for daily use. Check Xiaomi Redmi phones or Moto E, they're great and usually quite cheap
P.S: You may get a higher chance of getting a date with a newer phone
To be honest, its been 5 - 6 years i stick with my Xperia Pro and i proudly say i never encounter any major problems. I dont know much about greenify or link2sd but mine is working alright.
I just using the superjellybean rom one without gapps. For the battery life, i can survive the whole day with medium usage. Theres no any critical Iag on any apps that i use such as (whatsapp, opera mini, tubemate, sync pro) I also disable email exchange service, gmail, google search, keep and search application.
The only annoying that i faced right now is i need to switch physical keyboard (after each bootup) in setting or the visual keyboard will not popout. The keyboard light also always turn on when there is any input while using the phone (without the keyboard slides out). If anyone can help with this i can ensure this rom is in perfection.

SONY ERICSSON XPERIA PRO MK16i:
Can it still function normally with e-mail such as Gmail, and other POP3 accounts on Ginger bread?
Or is its OS so out dated it can not function properly or other issues to look out for?
Purchasing the device from welectronics if that makes a difference.
You see I am thinking of purchasing one and would like to know if it worth paying for...I would use it primarily for mail and sending, viewing, light editing pdf, word, and excel documents, and lastly as a back up phone, also as a recording device for lectures at Uni. the only reason I am looking at this device is for the physical slide out keyboard like the old PDA's.
Please let me know
did you try ?
any chance to buy one new ?

Ultimate fixes here - battery, lag, camera, browser

Hi all, here I is a list of fixes that work.
1. Improve battery
a. Disable data roaming
b. In settings 'power management' toggle on 'Queue background data'
c. If using Google Chrome browser - When in chrome go to settings and toggle off 'merge tabs and apps'.
d. Install and run Gservicefix from the Google Play store, as this stops all the parts of Google play services that run in the background, chewing up battery and slowing your device. Make sure you follow the instructions, no root required.
2.Remove lag, improve performance
a. Install the latest firmware 32.0.A.6.152.
Install Sony PC companion, it will download the latest firmware (takes a few hours) connect your phone, let it do its thing. This will have your phone running like melted butter.
3. Camera
a. Go into settings, apps, all. Find 'photo analyser' and disable it.
This not only improves picture quality but the camera app opens quicker and removes lag between taking pictures.
4. Browser
a. Download and install Rbrowser from the Google play store. The fastest internet browser ever for Snapdragon devices, developed right here on XDA, integrates with your Google account. Super fast, you'll be surprised!
Well that's it. All the best, hope it has helped and saved you time and frustration.
What about camera crashes with Xposed?
Has the latest firmware been updated to all models? The UK version as well?

Thx man.. No battery drain.. Th again
What is the photo analyzer service?
Would anything used on a daily basis be affected by the gservices fix such as GPS or weather use
Standby Mobile Service drains most... :S
WOW, thanks for that. Not too bothered about the battery drain but what a difference it makes, disabling the photo analyser service. when the screen is off, the camera opens up in less than a second. Awesome.
And yes, the UK version has the latest sony firmware now.

I have to say that you know your stuff. This really got my hand set going
Thanks, I'm a little iffy about "Gservicefix" though without knowing exactly what its doing and that it can be undone
Also wanting a little bit more info about the Gservicefix; After downloading and running it, do you still need to have it or can it be deleted? And yeah, exactly what does it do and is it a safe app etc?

its the app that scans every picture you take ,in order to find faces.its only for album application, and only if you use this feature to categorize your photos based on the people that are showing in those pictures.
Still amazing that you should even need to look at a list of fixes and hacks to get a flagship device like the z5c working. My camera app is still painfully slow, as is focus to actually take pictures. Yesterday lag was so bad I had to restart my phone to be able to make a phone call. Still puzzeled by how this phone got good reviews? My worst android experience ever. The downward spiral just continues for Sony.
I m charging my z5 with quick charger but it takes 1 hour to charge 60%
