Was it supposed to go to the phone? gear manager apps appear on watch if it is a combo app it will appear on phone also. (TransGear has no phone side UI) did you read that description
*Side note does it work?

I figured it out when I tried to open it from the app store it said show in gear manager and would bring up gear manager but wouldn't show at all it does work it comes up in the share menu on any file

[Q] Does the Galaxy Gear work with the Galaxy S4 Zoom??

Hi,
I have the chance of buying a Galaxy S4 zoom but need to know whether it works with the Galaxy Gear or not? I have a Galaxy Gear (Original Galaxy Gear 1) already and don't want to render it useless should I chop in my Galaxy S3 for the S4 zoom!!
Thanks
Yes it does. I have gear version 1. Works fine with zoom S4 on latest 4.2.2

Thank you for letting me know. The version I have a chance of getting is the SM-C105 presumably that's not going to make a difference?!
Did you just download the Galaxy Gear app from the Samsung App Store? Or did you force install the Galaxy Gear app itself?
Also do you have full functionality or have you lost some features like people say the weather doesn't sync, the notifications, etc...??
No you don't need to download gear manager. Just follow the instructions in the Gear box. Turn on nfc and it will connect and start the Gear manager download for you.
I have full functionality. I think people with issues have either messed with or installed non standard software first.
My phone and gear are absolutely stock firmwares with no mods.

I don't understand how you were able to get the Gear to work with the Zoom running the stock rom 4.2.2. When I use the NFC to pair the devices, it opens the Samsung App store on the Zoom and attempts to download the Gear Manager app but I get an error that says "Product does not exist in this store. (4002)"
Is there something that I am missing? Could it be possible that there's a difference between your stock rom 4.2.2 SM-C101 and the one I have SM-C105A?

Hmm ok, this doesn't sound as promising now!!
I don't suppose anyone is able to definitely confirm that the Galaxy Gear works with the Galaxy S4 Zoom?
I've double checked today and its actually the SM-C101 model I have a chance of getting... OR I can now get a Galaxy S4. So I need to be absolutely sure that I can use my Gear with the Zoom, otherwise I'll go for the S4
After extensive research and numerous attempts, I finally broke down and decided to root my sisters S4 Zoom so that it would be compatible with the Gear.
It was really easy to get setup and probably took 45 mins total, I just never did it before because I tried to get it connected without root.

I didn't need to root to get mine to work. Worked straight out the box.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully the SM-C101 will just work on stock then?
Its odd as there is hardly any info on people sucessfully connecting their Gear to the S4 zoom. Maybe its just because there wasn't many S4 zooms sold??

Yes. That was from the Samsung store. My FW version is C105AUCUAMJ2 if that helps.

I looked inside of it and it is still the same firmware as before. So only the Manager App might have changed.

Correct, firmware stays the same and the GFM upgrades just fine. I haven't noticed any changes yet.

yes, and my gear fit manager keep trying to downgrade many times...
I think i will soon switch to an android wear watch, samsung is finish for me, they do nothing for their products, no major update, poor s health, big **** for fitness with gear, NO SMART ALARM ??!!!!!!???? .... Sony have big ideas, but not good hardware (smartband and smartwatch), samsung is only a follower, good hardware, but no ideas..
I totally agree, the Gear Fit has an impressive hardware, but does not have a smart alarm bracelet is disappointing. Where there has been an alarm clock without.
I hope that they get an update which comes included, do not think it's too much to ask a simple alarm that does not depend on our mobile device.
It to me is the only thing I miss him a bracelet.

After creating a theme, you have to go into your file explorer and go to Android --> data--> find the watch styler folder--> then open the folder with the name of the theme you created and delete the image folder. Do this for each theme you create. You will now be able to apply them in the gear manager app.

I created the background image with the icons already on there using a photo editing program. Basically fake icons. Then I imported the background image with fake icons into watch styler. I then created icons that were totally transparent over my "fake" icons on the back ground image from within watch styler.
Using the watch you can't tell the difference and you just have to decide ahead of time what icons you want to have. when you are designing the watch face.

You start by creating your 1st shortcut by selecting "shortcut01" then select the style of short cut to the right "mailbox, star, etc...". It then appears on your watch face and you can adjust it from there and make it invisible by turning the transparency all the way up.
to create your 2nd shortcut select "shortcut02" and repeat.

You have to do it from your phone. On my phone (Note 3) I go to "samsung gear" app ->Samsung gear apps->options->purchased->All->watch styler for gear s-> New theme or Load theme or open an existing one and edit it. once done editing then select "apply". Now hit back button until you get back to the orange "samsung gear" app and select "home screen styler"->clock->Watchstylergear
If this doesn't work for you I don't know how to help.

The first time I have used watch styler for Gear S I have got the same problem. I think the difference between watch styler for Gear 1 / 2 and watch styler for Gear S is, that in watch styler for Gear S you have to hold the items (e.g. time at the right) a little bit longer before it is possilbe to move them to a new place.

[Q] Won't connect to rooted phone

I broke out my old S2, rooted it with CM11, running KitKat, edited build.prop to reflect an S4. Once I edited build.prop I was able to download and install Gear Manager directly from Galaxy Apps. It launches fine, but I can't get it to find my Gear S, any ideas?

What build of gear manager are you using? I was successful in getting the Gear S to mate with my Note 2 using 1.6 or 1.7 (can't remember) but then it auto upgraded to 2.2 and the watch still worked.
Now that I'm using a note 4, I have other issues with the watch and the phone such as the contact list and s-voice.
Root works fine for me all my Android gadgets have been rooted no problems here. If you need a Specific gear manager let us know I'm sure someone can come up with one for you. the GS will work on S3 and up you can spoof all you'd like but the hardware is needed for the models of S3 and newer
You can also grep logcat for "Host" (adb> logcat | grep "Host") and check out the HostManager output. When I tried to run Gear Manager on an AT&T S3 mini it was spitting out an error that told me why it wouldn't show the S. (The error basically said that the host needed 1GB of RAM.)
Worked great on my note 4 rooted. Had to reset both watch and app on phone.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 + BAD ASS GEAR S
I loved my s2, this looks like the best solution for hooking it up to your Gear S.
You have to get up to bluetooth 4.0 it allows for data collection.
