AOSP Style Pulldown? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Can it be done? I want to theme my systemui.apk to have the Android L (or cyanogenmod 11) pulldown. I want it exactly the same with maybe an app to add buttons to the quick settings/change owner pic/etc.
Is there an xposed module for this? Or a walkthrough? Or what?
I am running HyperdriveRLS19 on stock kernel and android 4.4.2 NC5/NG6 mix, safestrap 3.7.5,

Nope. Not on HD. On Eclipse you get AOSP pilldown.

I'm fairly sure there is a way to modify the systemui.apk... You can already do it, I just don't know what to edit and such.

The only reason Eclipse has it is because he compiled systemUI from AOSP Source, and you can't do that without building in all the Dependencies of the AOSP SystemUI, a large feat.
Gogolie attempted it in Chaos ROM, but ended up just leaving it at TW themed black, and made a flushable that themed them back, I believe that link lingers somewhere in the Chaos ROM thread.
The reason that no amount of editing will allow it is because the source that they are compiled from are vastly different, they aren't just hidden, they were completely replaced by the TW toggles.

This is the only thing i could find. I think it may work!

This is really good theming, but if you notice, on TW Roms, it wont give the transparent background, and the toggles are slightly different.
That is probably the closest thing we can get. Thanks for finding this!

Hyperdrive19 TW rom here, my notification pulldown has always been able to go transparent. Also, that xposed module doesn't do anything besides let you use the pulldown in lock screen. It allows for quick settings to be pulled down like AOSP, but it doesn't actually change the style

Would ripping the notification shade from Eclipse's SystemUI.apk and then placing it in hyperdrive's systemui.apk work?

Apk editing like that'd only works on a very select type of cases. That systemui was compiled with dependencies that are built into eclipse, which can't be moved to HD.

Don't know if this helps but I used Wanam Xposed to theme the bar like this.

[Theme] ICS Theme S8, UnNamed, Cog X2 Updated 11/7/11

Update 11/7/2011
Reworked the contacts to look a little more black, small changes though. Also reworked the stock clock to be more a little more ICS.
Here is a theme I've been putting together for Serendipity 8.1 over the last few weeks based on ICS from the system dump.
The theme will work with S8, UnNamed and Cog X2 at this point in time.

I've modded the keyboard, most of the usual system apps like mms, contacts, phone etc and modded the stock lockscreen to have the same clock font as ICS... and more
The only problem is that I cannot for the life of me get the notification text color to change to white. So if you can fix then post up the files and I'll add it in.
I don't plan on porting it to other roms or updating it often as pharmacy school has been pretty cumbersome lately.
Usual stuff:
You flash at your own risk, if it breaks your phone it isn't my fault.
I highly recommend you back-up any files so you can revert if you please.
If I missed anything, I can't think of it now...
Thanks to:

It should work, there isn't much difference between the two roms but I can't guarantee it.
Looks a lot more complete than what I was working on! One thing I did notice is that the signal icon seems to be a bit larger than the rest of the system icons and a tad bit blurry. The icons I was working with seemed to be a bit smaller to match the height of the other icons. I'll attach the SystemUI.apk I was using in case you wanted to compare those icons
Thanks for theme!
i think there's a new Serendipity version coming any day now, so i'll switch back and try it out then. i don't like the stock green on most of these. i don't get why Google doesn't include color choices.

It shouldn't. That is what I did when I ported a white theme (FROST) over from Nexus S to Captivate...... I had to make the text black. So I'm not sure whats going wrong there.

Battery Mods!! (Updated 6-21-12 for New Extended QuickSettings!)

Finally got a chance to sit down and put together some battery mods.
Credits go to Jotha for allowing me to use many of his images.
His thread, along with credits for where he found the images can be found HERE
Now instead of flashing all of these mods just for a picture of the mod in action, I'm also going to use the images Jotha has from his thread. So please don't ask "how do I make my status bar look like that?!". The images from his thread are for battery reference only.
These are now updated with Mik's latest Extended Quick settings. Be sure to thank him.
You may get a Force Close of SystemUI.apk after the initial bootup, but ignore than and keep on keepin' on. The status bar will reload and keep on truckin'.

Well, being that the mods are based on failrly stock systemui (only modded quicksettings and the show 1x/3g) mod, I'd nearly guarantee their compatibility. This is for deodexed roms btw

[MOD][2.3+] XLDrawer - Replace "Holo" drawer icons with "Material" drawer icons (L)

[MOD][2.3+] XLDrawer - Replace "Holo" drawer icons with "Material" drawer icons (L)
This is an extremely simple module, which I highly recommend using with @monish1995's Herathon
It does three main things:
Replace the old drawer icon:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
with the new drawer icon from L:
Change the height of the actionbar on AppCompat and ActionBarSherlock apps to the L size
Changes the back icons to L style ones
It also provides a GUI to switch from dark to light icons on a per-app basis, as well as turn off the icon changing for apps you don't want theming
Essentially, it fills the gaps of the theme.
Screenshot!

APK is also attached
Thanks for your great work :goog:
I test it
Edit: Can't install because incorrect package name :/ ..
Package name incorrect. Please fix this, cause it's preventing installation. Any way you could support normal actionbars as well for us who doesn't use herathon theme?
Does not work.
A toast appears stating that it can't install because the name is incorrect.
You should also add the ic_ab_back pngs to this mod. That would be awesome.
Gmail bars are white instead of black
Doesn't work with Evernote either
Or youtube
Download is fixed
I'll do some more missing stuff later
Installed, but it doesn't seems to be working at all..
Tested with reddit sync, result isn't same as on your screenshot
It is because I'm not using Herathon theme?

Could you make an option to remove the whole handle, not just hide it?

Is there any Xposed module to shorten the pull down panel just to show the notifications. I mean it's just ridiculous expanding all the way down to the bottom covering the whole screen with black for 1 notification.
can you make an option to hide carrier label too?

How can I get full color status bar icons in Marshmallow?

Hi, everyone. I've been searching for an answer for this unsuccessfully, so forgive me if someone else has asked and answered.
I have a stock rooted (bootloader unlocked) LGE Nexus 5X. I absolutely HATE the solid white icons in the status bar in Marshmallow. I miss the original full color icons from older versions of Android. I'm not a fan of the status bar changing colors with the apps either.
Is there a way to restore the ability of apps to display their original full (multi) color icons in the status bar? Third party replacement status bars, root access, Xposed modules, etc., are all acceptable solutions.
Thanks!

I was hoping someone else had already done this in a nice easy Xposed module. I can't be the only person who hates these solid white icons that strip all detail that makes them easily identifiable. I honestly thought this would be a common complaint about Marshmallow.
Are there themes that restore apps ability to display full color icons? If so, I don't know where to begin. I've never been interested in themes before.

You need a rom that supports themes. To be honest alot of people like the MD (Dont ask me why) Also as for xposed I cant say as most developers are not a fan of xposed and most custom roms dont offer support for it and advise not to use it.

Dont mention lucky patcher here. It is a nice way to be banned.
They are just not following googles guidelines. The stock icons are all white. All you have to do is rip open the the frameworks files to see. There is also a color overlay that google uses to turn all icons white if coded properly.

BTW, thanks for all the feedback on this.
If I want to tinker with this (modifying the frameworks, etc.), can you guide me as to where to begin? I do have old AOSP source on one of my VMs on my PC, and I can always use git to bring it up-to-date. For instance, the location of this overlay that turns all icons white would be a GREAT place for me to start. I have compiled AOSP before, so I'm not afraid to do it, but it may take me a while to get my build environment setup again.
No problem. Depending on the device and the rom you run depends on where it will be. Most of the icons are in the framework res and system ui but you will also have to find the color overlay on the xmls. Not really sure where as with LP and Mm I walked away from theming.
@zelendel do you know where in mm this code resides. making a custom rom and wanting to undo this "fix" that google has implemented.......
Hi! You are not alone. I would kill Google designer. This looks like a big unbelievable non-sense: good hardware, stable and well-featured software and such perverted and mutilated UI. If everyone forgot how human-oriented icons should look like, I will remind:
I HAVE A LEARNING DISABILITY and the all-white icons are driving me crazy. INEED THE COLORS BACK so I can tell one bit of innformation from another. Right now, everything looks like one white splotch. I WANT MY COLORS BACK!!
