I used the Fintie case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MN98ATE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Amazon currently has it for sale for $5.99 today 12/26.. If you cut off the cover with a razor (just flexible cloth/imitation leather holding cover to shell). Vey slightly trim back edges of case where OEM smartcover attaches to add bit more room. It will fit the NVidia Shield with OEM smartcover. Looks and works great.

Does anyone know where to get the original case that came with my touch pro 2? The leather type one with the magnetic clasp.
I have lost mine and would like the same one.
The closest I can find in this but its material with a Velcro fastener.

I find the smart cover case of my iPad 2 is ideal for typing in "landscape keyboard" mode. I haven't found any cases on eBay etc that do this except some really bulky/fugly ones. Has anyone found anything elegant/thin along the lines of the iPad 2 smart cover yet? I realize the GT7.7 doesn't have the logic to turn off when the cover is closed, I can live without that!
The original Samsung OEM case/cover looks very nice but doesn't seem to stand on its own in landscape keyboard mode

As long as the surface is not overly smooth, the Samsung Original Book Cover case does stand in landscape (thanks to rubber strips that adds friction). See pics. May not *look* especially stable, but it does seem to hold out nicely.
Ironically, I would like to see a case that allows my tab to stand in portrait mode, since I'm more likely to read that way. Never seen one before.
I have a case similar to the official iPad1 case. Very slim and snug fit. Doesn't add much to the size of the device, keeping the original slimness. Its faux leather on the outside and suede cloth inside. It has the same standing mechanism as the iPad1 case too. Comes in a few colours, I got the brown one.
I've been looking for exactly this type of case and was amazed they are made. I believe I can post images now and so I'll put some up later.

Thats the one. I personally prefer cases that give all round protection and this case does that. I find cases that only grip the corners can come loose over time, and badly made ones have terrible tolerances and may not even adequetly hold the device.

I also think that a case like the smart cover for the ipad2 is ideal for the tab 7.7. I have seen those for the 10.1 and 8.9 on ebay, and I am pretty sure they will pop up for the 7.7 soon.

That's basically exactly the same as the one I posted above except my link is cheaper and located in the UK (minus the screen protector but they are pence anyway)
The one I ordered also has better protection at the bottom

I snagged this one as it closely resembles the one I really like for my GTab 7+. Will post up pictures when I get it.
Does any one have one of these? I have bought one that is a copy, I just wondered if a genuine one did anything with the screen?
The genuine one is five times the price, is it worth the extra money?
It offers good side protection, you could take pictures without opening the flip, answer the phone,change music tracks etc. It's useful
I'm not fond of flip case but the S view seems good.
I had the occasion to try the S5 version and it was great. But you loose the look of the Alpha like other flip cover or case.
I saw a lot of copy 3 times cheaper than the original and they seem good.
Maybe someone has one, it can be great to have some feedback.

I'm joining the conversation just to bring my experience.
I've have the silicon cover of kwmobile and this is what I think about it: the grip is great, it is not too chubby, but the protection doesn't fit well (I guess the silicon needs time before adapting to the tablet shape).
The one linked by @Flavio looks good and now I'm undecided, because I want also to protect my screen (not with the plastic film protection).
