I have a VIBEZ K910 with locked bootloader after upgrading to version 4.4.2. Now it's bricked. Cannot enter test mode with the combination Volumn - and Power button. I think the droidboot.img is damaged. Cannot enter recovery either. Anybody can help me unbrick the phone? Pls:crying:
Sorry to hear about your bricked phone. I can't help specifically as I don't have a Lenovo, but having a search around XDA there seems to have been some success reported in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597590
See this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52013378&postcount=412
Another post in that thread suggests:
Turn off the phone --> Run minimal ABD and fastboot as admin--> just write the command for recovery install (don't hit enter yet)--> press volume + and volume - button and connect the phone to pc via usb--> now hit enter and voila. Your phone will boot in recovery.

OK, but did you look at the second link there, to the specific post in that thread? It suggests a process for locked bootloader, which is why I thought it might help...

lenovo k910e 4.2.2 bricked after TWRP for 4.4.2 installation
Hi , this is my first time on the site , so forgive me if ive posted this in the wrong place.
I briked my Lenovo k910e running 4.2.2 rom with google apps purchased off Aliexpress.
What i did was run the flashrec.exe file for TWRP , but not until too late did i realise it was for 4.4.2 instead of 4.2.2.
Now i cannot boot the phone , TWRP was successfully installed and operational , but after about 20 reboots TWRP flash screen is stuck on the TeamWin logo and not accessable.
Ive tried mostl sugestions on this site and others without luck.
I can get the phone recognised with fastboot only after these commands ;
cd downloads
cd fastboot
adb devices
and it seems i may be able to push files to my device.
Is there a working link to the k910 OEM rom k910_ss_s_2_040_0109_131226 someone could direct me to.
All the links i have found so far are corrupted. Is there a way of repairing the TWRP recovery i have in the phone now.
Am I correct in assuming I have to install the OEM factory 4.2.2 ROM to wipe TWRP and istal Lenovo recovery ?.
Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks
Solution ( k910 bricked )
Ok here is the solution even if your device ( k910 dual sim ) is completely bricked as was mine.
I was stuck in Lenovo logo with no success in finding right and working drivers ( windows 7 64x ) and i was not able to to get in recovery official ...everything was just - somehow - deleted...
I had locked bootloader **** and was not be able to flash cmw in working mode ****
There was nothing for me that could recover my phone even if the "hard" way with QPST or miflash etc
So....after 3 days....find this solution and hope this will help you because it is soooooooooo easy finally!
Steps:
1) Download lenovo driver ( i think it is useless in fact but ok....just run it you dont have anything more to loose )
https://www.dropbox.com/s/frbpz16udrefoit/LenovoUsbDriver_autorun_1.0.112.exe?dl=0
2a) Download and install Minimal adb
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uvngsu4vz4hvsky/minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.1.3_setup.exe?dl=0
So now you have to use the right recovery image ( this file has to be inside minimal adb folder )....so here it is:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ge05m1fe8n4qgb1/recovery.img?dl=0
2b)
Download this ROM ( this worked for me - with other i did try i did get an error )
http://www.needrom.com/download/lenovo-k910-vibeui-2-0/
prefer the last updated version ( 1501 )
Put this rom in the same ADB folder and renale zip in VIBE1411.ZIP ( in order to be easier later )
3) Turn off the device open Adb and write : fastboot boot recovery.img ( to have it ready )
4) Push volume + $ volume - at the same time and AFTER connect with usb to your pc - At the time the device will vibrate HIT ENTER in ADB
This will flash the recovery and after 1 minute device will open in a recovery screen with an adb update option ***
SELECT THIS adb update OPTION !
Your device kow it is ready to flash the new rom ! ( you will realize that everything is right from many usb beeps you will hear )
5)In adb console write : adb sideload VIBE1411.ZIP
This will take a little ....after that your device will reboot ! Dont panic if for a few minutes it will stuck in lenovo logo....
IT IS NORMAL AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT!
Hope this will help you.....please feel free to tell me if this worked for you.

Boot into recovery under bricked condition
Today I bricked K910 after reinstalling GMS apk.
The phone hanged at boot logo.
Nothing can be from here.
I decided to take this risk.
I removed the back cover and disconnected the battery terminal.
After that I plugged back the terminal.
Several tries by power button and volume down to get into the recovery mode. All failed.
Each time it hanged at boot logo.
I have to redo the battery terminal unplug sequence again.
This is correct method to get into recovery mode.
Press power button and volume down till the Lenovo logo appears.
Move the power button finger to the position of the " Home " of the touchscreen position.
Hold till the recovery menu appears. Choose factory reset to erase the phone.
There was two lit small icon below. Make your choice.
The phone will be erased by reset.
Reboot after the process.
I solved my phone bricked problem.
Hope the method will solve your problem.
Good day to all K910 users.
my vibe z cannot access the recovery mode (PWR + VLM DOWN), it only vibrate. If turn on only stuck at Logo. Please help .
Already posted this 5 times on 3 sites and just not getting a lot of help. If it's bricked, fine, tell me. If it can be fixed, give me ideas.
I can't flash the bootloader or boot in any possible way. not through adb, not through tool kit, not through nexus 7 restore, nothing.
I can access fastboot mode (power+vol down) but nothing else. Standard power on gets stuck on google screen. It is unlocked. I have tried 3 different USB ports and 6 cables with no change.
No BS please, either Yes it's bricked sorry or No, it's not bricked, here are some ideas.
now i see that i'm not alone
same problem here, nobody ? It's a powerfull tablet, maybe now is going to be a powerfull paperweight, big paperweight, so sad.
can you boot into download mode if u can then
1.put your device into download mod 2.download the official firmware for your device on your computer
3.connect yor phone into your computer and flash it
if you can't boot into download mod then sorry I think it's bricked try to bring it to a service center

Does the PC recognize? If you run the "fastboot devices" does it return a serial number? These things are pretty difficult to hard brick and if you can still get to the bootloader, then chances are it is recoverable. It helps to mention what you did for it to get to this state as well.

yes, it sends the serial number but when I had tried to flash it then it returns an error.
.***now im trying again with SkipSoft Android Toolkit, but it is stuck waiting for adb mode
before that state, it was charging, just that.
The tablet got Android 5 from OTA, and then android 5.1, i was using it as normal, but one day, while it was charging, it just show the google logo (name) and the lock down.
My 2012 wifi did that exactly. I downloaded wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit yours can be d/loaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389107
All i did was put my 7 in fastboot mode then ran the tool kit. I then launched the advanced utilities and then fastboot format. Then i flashed stock rom.
Worked a treat. Thought mine was toast as well good luck.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not a good sign. I haven't found anyone reporting success when it's having that issue. If you have exhausted the external possibilities such as drivers, USB cords, the PC, trying Windows and Linux, etc and still getting the same thing then that means the eMMC is probably messed up. Examples here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602638
can you boot into bootloader if you can then navigate by using volume up volume down till you find the recovery and press lock button and factory reset

They're way past the point that a factory reset would help or even work as wiping cache is not working and that is part of a factory reset. If it isn't wiping through fastboot commands, it definitely won't work through recovery.
sorry, then you should bring it to a service center
very hard and sad to hear that, thank you anyway guys...
about RMA i saw that will be expensive bcz the warranty time expired

WARNING: The stock boot image has dm-verity, which prevents you from booting if you swipe to enable system modifications!
SOLUTION: Flash a root such as SuperSU or phh-superuser. You can also flash no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip.
- Prerequisites :
• YOUR BOOTLOADER MUST BE UNLOCKED
-Check this post for details on how to unlock your stylo 2 plus bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68919557&postcount=15
-If you have problems with the device drivers installed , you will need to install lg bridge app by lg that contains the device driver

• Enable OEM Unlocking and ADB in developer options!

- How to install twrp :
Notice:
this install guide was originally written for the stylo 2 plus I'm not sure it will work on the stylo 2..
• BOOT INTO FASTBOOT MODE:
With your phone off, connect your usb cable to your phone while holding VOLUME DOWN to boot into fastboot mode or just type [adb reboot bootloader] in the adb terminal
• ONCE YOU ARE IN FASTBOOT MODE:
Open a command prompt and type "fastboot flash recovery <path_to_recovery.img>” without the quotation marks.
Example: fastboot flash recovery C:/Users/John/Desktop/recovery.img
[don't forget to extract the downloaded recovery zip to get the recovery.img]
• WHEN THE FLASH COMPLETES: (Takes about 2 seconds)
On your phone, unplug the usb cable and power it off by taking out the battery and putting it back in.
• BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE FOR THE FIRST TIME
HOLD VOLUME DOWN + POWER until you see the LG logo and then temporarily release the POWER button, immediately pressing and holding it back down until you see the white prompt screen. You will NEVER release the volume down button in this process!
Use the hard keys to select "YES" and then "YES" again to boot into
TWRP recovery!
After the TWRP splash screen you will see the option to type in the password to decrypt the filesystem. Due to the password prompt and the touchscreen driver, you will not have any touchscreen functionality until your phone locks for inactivity. After it locks (ON ITS OWN) and the screen dims, you can unlock it normally and TWRP is fully functional.
Warning: use the [volume down + power] buttons combo only to boot into twrp for the first time after flash ! don't use it after that as it will wipe your device every time you try to use the buttons combo again to boot into twrp after the first time .
u have 2 methods to boot into twrp after the first boot:
1- u can use this app [root is required] :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stephansmolek.reboot&hl=en
2- or u can use adb command type [ adb reboot recovery ] in adb terminal to boot into twrp
DISABLE FORCED ENCRYPTION & ROOT IT!
1. In TWRP, go to Wipe > Format Data. Enter the keyword ‘yes‘, in the provided space and enter. This will wipe the automatically encrypted filesystem, and decrypt it.
2. Once the wiping is done, reboot back into recovery. Go to Reboot > Recovery.
3. When the recovery boots again, connect your phone to the PC and Enable MTP under the Mount section.
4. Transfer the downloaded ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-2.1.zip’ and ‘SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip to your internal storage or EXTSD
5. Disconnect the device now.
6. Tap on Install. Now, navigate your phone’s storage and select ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-2.1.zip’. Finally swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’ button on the bottom of the screen.
7. The flashing process will merely take a few seconds. And when it’s done, follow the same method to flash the root package – SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip
Click to collapse
Wait 1 or 2 minutes after the zip files are done flashing then reboot system and PROFIT! Your phone may take 3-5 minutes to boot the first time and it might boot-loop once or twice at the Metro PCS splash screen but don’t worry this is expected.
All required files [supersu+dm-verify disable] can be found in this thread :

Ah, I see that now...just downloaded it.
No luck so far though...have USB debugging and 'enable OEM unlock' checked, 'adb reboot bootloader' and 'reboot to bootloader' from recovery both just boot as normal and power off/volume down+plug in USB just gives the battery charging screen.
Edit: Just went back and read some old threads over again...looks like no one has been able to get to fastboot post ZV3
Is anyone actively trying to get this to work? This is my last hope for this phone. If I cant get it rooted I'm switching phones.

No
I have the VM version of the stylo 2. I got temp root at one point and tried to get full root via the terminal method but it didn't work and I have king root installed in the system but no root, Ive been trying this method but when I push the adb reboot boot loader command it reboots into the boot loader but I can't get any command to work after that. I launched the adb devices command and no device is listed, the only time the device is listed is when the phone is booted to the stock ROM. I'm currently downloading the lg bridge app in hopes it fixes this issue. I'm willing to do this because I have 3 VM variants of this phone all running zv3. Also my google apps are broke after attempting to achieve permanent root....I feel a Lil bummed about that lol
I spent a fair amount of time yesterday and today trying everything I could imagine to get to fastboot...nothing. Tried everything I could find for other LG models in case one worked...nope. Read every thread on every forum I could find that was posted to within the last 60 days. Pulled out the stylus and tried it all again (lol)...all the while being mocked by the cursed "Boost Zone" app icon.
Now I'm just trying to decide if I should pull my hair out, or punch myself in the nuts.

I don't even know what I did?
So I tried this. First when I tried to Unlock the bootloader but no matter what I tried it wouldn't work. It would always return with the error saying the command is unrecognized (I tried the old and new command to unlock the bootloader). So then I figured I might as well try and flash the recovery anyways. I tried flashing TWRP and it worked. It comes up with a screen that asking if I want to keep my system partition unmodified. Whether I choose to or not it has a bunch of error messages when I try to factory reset. I'm completely confused. I have TWRP but it seems I can't do anything with it. My phone isn't bricked either. I can still boot into android just fine.

I'm on zv6 how can I help
Sent from my LGLS775 using Tapatalk
So I figured out after many days of trying to flash a recovery through fastboot and didn't work, I found a way. This may work for zv4, zv5, and zv6 for I'm on zv3. Anywho I'll get started on what I did.
1) get some type of root (temp or perm)
2) download flashify from play store or Google
3) allow root access
4) open up flashify and choose recovery image
5) press choose image
6) locate where you downloaded your recovery
7) press on your image it will pop up a box click yup 8) it will flash, after the flash choose reboot now
9) for any reason you don't want to reboot right then but you want to later, go to flashify and click the 3 dots in the top right corner and press reboot recovery.
How do I get even temp root? I'm on zv6 if it matters.

Yes, I did it. But a blue screen appear fast and my smartphone turns off. It does not go into recovery at all, only after I start the phone normally. Funny that I only get message of success since the release of the bootloader until the installation of twrp.

fastboot could use in fastboot mode (shutdown then vol down + power) only and windows sohuld recognize this.
But I think your adb usb driver got conflict somehow.
You can try "usbdeview" to uninstall all adb usb drivers then use some knid of universal adb usb driver installer.
Antisound said:
Do you immediatly reboot into recovery after flashing TWRP? If not, the Stock Recovery will be restored and twrp is getting deleted again.
if you type "fastboot reboot" just hold the "volume up" key at this moment until you're in twrp...

I have the 820. Could NOT get windows to see this phone on stock rom. Don't recall exact steps I took, but I do remember the ADB feature within TWRP saved my day. Windows would see the phone in TWRP recovery adb mode, but could never get windows to adb connect with stock rom.
Hey people, sry I'm coming back now. Lightning struck my street and burned my pc. But I come back with another problem, when I connect my phone to the pc nothing happens. I mean, I can't transfer cause MTP doesn't work. I tried install unninstall and install again adb, and all the drivers but it did not work. So I'll need to fix this to try to install twrp again
Guys! I was being too stupid! I found my mistake... I was using another smartphone twrp... So, for who are having same issue, pay attention to this. But, thanks everybody and sry for this hahaha
Hi !
I've attempted to deal with the devil by trying to root my Pioneer XDP-300R resulting in a bootloop problem (device is stuck on "Powered by Android" screen).
I attempted to flash a boot.img for a Onkyo DX-P1 (which is the same firmware), and still I haven't progressed.
No firmware, update or imgs are provided on Pioneer's website.
I still have access to fastboot (OEM is LOCKED, so I can't boot TWRP and such) in bootloader mode and adb push (no shell) in recovery mode.
Do you guys have any idea how to sort it out ?
Edit :
I managed to make my device go into Qualcomm's emergency download mode.
Here's how to :
1 - Make sure the device is completely off and unplugged from USB.
2 - Install QPST V2.7.474 (not enough posts to share url, but I can PM it).
3 - Install QDLoader Drivers (same as #2).
4 - Simply press and hold the "Play" button while connecting it to your computer, the device manager should see a "Qualcomm 9008 port" listed in Ports while the player's screen stays black.
5 - Do the Carlton (important step !)
Now, if anyone possessing a FUNCTIONAL AND ROOTED Pioneer XDP-300r is reading this and willing to help, can you get in touch with me ?
Together, we could manage to save all the other devices from soft-bricking.
All I would need from you is some time, hard disk space and patience to sort it out.
Please <insert_your_name_here>, you're my only hope !
Edit #2 :
Thanks to minotauri's great help, we managed to get a FULL rom backup, split the partitions to files and generate all the files needed for QFIL.
ErrOzz has been given access to this, hoping that he'll try it out soon.
If that works, I'll link you the files and write the walkthrough to bring you DAP back to life.
minotauri's contributions are not in rest tho, he managed to also successfuly patch TWRP for the device, so anyone can securely flash things from there now.
For anyone reading this thread : you're not the only one who screwed things up, we did too but we might have the cure. Hang in there !

Hi - I saw your post on Head-Fi (antdroid over there). Let me look into this!
Here is a bunch of system dump images and qcn files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1diqQ8LE-yG4b-WZFB_OPcQp2rDUp9BbV?usp=drive_open
Hello.
How can I write boot from qdload 9008 state?
Hi !
From the edl / qdload 9008 state, you can't afaik.
Here's how I think you can :
1 - Unplug your device from USB and power it off from whatever state it is.
2 - Power it on pressing Power + Previous button (keep holding, you should be "stuck" on the penguin logo).
3 - Connect your USB.
4 - Check that you have a Android ADB Device in your device manager (install drivers manually if you have an Unknown device).
5 - Grab any fastboot from the internet if you don't already have it (I'll PM you my gdrive, it's there for exemple).
6 - From CMD, go to fastboot directory. (cd <my_folder_with_fastboot>).
7 - Type in : fastboot devices
If fastboot sees your device, you're on the good path, else, check your driver / connection / reboot to fastboot "penguin" state.
8 - Type in : fastboot oem device-info
If it replies
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true
among others, you're in a good, good way, else, you're screwed by now, but we are working on it.
9 - If all the precedent are fulfilled type :
fastboot flash boot <my_boot_image.img>
10 - Mandatory Carlton.
I hope you'll be in the right path all the way, if you're stuck somewhere or if your bootloader is locked, please let me know.
Cheers !

Hi,
I have the same problem. I am able to get qdload 9008 state from here now. However, after unplug and followed grogcw's hints, the device is not recognized again. Also, the device hasn't ennobled debug mode before too. All the adb and fastboot commands return no device.
Hopefully can get more help here.

Is there anyway to flash TWRP and so with QDLoader?
I believe he is on vacation for another week and half. If you haven't enabled the bootloader unlock option within Android, then my recovery method may not work since it may not let you flash the recovery.
You can try to fastboot boot recovery.img though
Hi ! I'm back from vacation, but I still haven't my device around.
Any user willing to test are welcome to reply or PM me !

How can we get started?
We actually did start probing stuff around, and we are missing something in the "full restoration process", so we're stuck for now.
Sahara protocol still is a mystery for us, and we can't get pass an error.
I think we don't actually have the right programmer_firehose.mbn for our device, but if it's not this, I'm basically out of ideas. (we might need an "QFIL expert" on this)
I still don't have my device around and feeling dumb about this.
Anyway, all the files and tools required to try probing around are in my gdrive and I can PM the link (as I still can't post it right away) if anyone is interested.
Thanks for trying to help or actually help everyone !
Cheers !

i was able to unbrick my device
dantuko said:
all credits go to anthony nguyen aka minotauri. Thank you!
requirements:
samsung drivers installed
windows 10 (i have the windows 10 pro installed)
oem unlock
usb debbuging selected prior to brick
install the latest samsung drivers
install fastboot/adb drivers
stock-boot.img provided by minotauri
the steps are as follows:
the device must be in recovery mode an plugged to the computer. I was on stock recovery
open device manager in windows, look for anything android and delete it and choose to delete the drivers
refresh device manager for new devices (keep only the xdp-300 android connected)
right click on the android device and click on update drivers
select browse my computer for driver software
click on let me pick from a list of available drivers
unselect show compatible drivers (if you see a samsumg driver here, select it. If not try generic windows adb drivers)
seletct google adb drivers (this is the one that worked and it's under samsung drivers)
i performed the steps 1 through 8 a few times until the computer categorized the device as adb
open a command prompt, navigate to the directory where fastboot is installed and type: Fastboot devices (you should have a device listed here)
type: Fastboot oem unlock (this unlocks the bootloader)
after copying stock-boot.img to the root of the your fastboot directory, type: Fastboot flash boot stock-boot.img (reboot)
after the reboot you should see normal boot
if you want twrp and root follow the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/pioneer-xdp-300r-digital-audio-player-t3902949 all credits go to anthony nguyen.
i installed twrp the latest supersu pro, viper4android, root browser, busy box pro and everything works perfectly.

Here is a few items to note about the image:
You must have twrp installed and accessible in order to restore this image.
First time booting after the restore will take a long time, so have a cup of coffee and let it do it's thing.
Every time you boot the OS will perform application optimization, it doesn't bother me so I have not even looked into it.
After you boot connect to your WIFI and open Google Play to set up your account
If you want to use Viper4Android, download and install busybox, then open settings, go to apps and disable Musicfx, then reboot and turn Viper4Android on.
Good luck

Thanks for answer and sharing your files. Unfortunately, there is some error when trying to restore in TWRP.
I packed all the items from your disk in ZIP and downloaded to the SD card .
I'm getting an error about the content: no MD5 file found Failed to map file'/external_sdxxxxxx-Full BACKUP.zip'
Error instaling zip file
. Do you have an idea why this is happening?

You need to change settings in twrp not to check md5 checksum, if it doesn't work then i'll create one with checksum.
