you do not have root access, you need to root
any time you flash stock firmware you need to reroot

I thought I did. After downloading root checker, I find it is not rooted.
What is the proper way to root this phone?
Pete's root installer must not work.

I used Pete's. It went through the three reboots, said the phone was rooted. Went to SuperSU and it needs binaries.
Went looking for 'zerg rush' and AVG told me that a virus was installed.
AVG is scanning now. Will continue after scanning for virus.
I hate Window$. Very seldom use it.

all rooting programs use exploits to root, so virus warnings are expected

Hello, someone knows how to root this phone? Im looking everywhere and nothing.
Thanks!
I can't post the root link I used because my post count is too low. But if you google "mt2-l05 root" it should be the second link, from anzow.com. I translated the page to English using google. I did it when I was still on 4.2, not sure if it works on kitkat. Don't try and replace the Chinese root app with another one, it always seemed to mess up my root when I tried to do this. Also, the root is still write protected so I guess you don't quite have full access like I would prefer, but it does work well enough that Rom Toolbox can freeze apps. I tried changing permissions so I could write to the root but it would always soft brick my phone and I'd have to do a factory recovery.

I wouldn't say it's unsafe, but I definitely felt sketched out using non English software to root. I'd do it again though, it's really great to get all those useless Chinese apps off the phone. As long as you don't mess with read/write permissions or kinguser, you shouldn't have any problems. The times I did soft brick I was always able to fix it via recovery.

In Kinguser there is a option to unroot.
Some devices cannot be updated even after you unroot, and you will need to reflash stock...
thanks and will it have no knox tripped? so i can have still warranty for the device
and how can i reflash the stock must i install custom recovery or something or can i do it in the official recovery wipe everything and go to bootloader

I have the 5017a variant of the Pixi3(4.5) running Lollipop. Kingo doesn't work, nor any other one click solutions I have found. Not even the Mobile Upgrade S software has the phone listed.

I don't mind downgrading to a kitkat rom, but I have been unable to find that either.
Does anyone know of any way to root this phone, or did I end up buying one of those obscure models that will never be rooted?

Yes. I rooted it once with Kingroot. However on reboot you have to fix root permissions again. Just run Kingroot again and it will reroot the device. This with a LG-K520DY. BUT....
I must warn you that once rooted you can never clean the system of the root files. Even if you unroot the phone with Kingroot software, the system is not clean and you cannot get OTA updates. I did fix this problem by downloading LG Bridge from the LG support site and updating that way. I now have an unrooted phone and I don't recommend rooting this particular model because of all the difficulties LG has created around it.
