Hi everyone
I have been recentrly trying to connect my rooted android 4.1.2 smartphone with windows 7 via wifi - and all the attempts have failed.
I have tried many programs, also the fantastic 3c toolbox, with its wadb option, also adb wifi, which is present in the forum. on windows 7, i installed adb setup, followed all advice given by developers of the programs. also tried the plugin for total commander. I am starting to suspect the problem might be in windows settings, but have no idea where to start with the diagnostics.
could you, please, help?

Hi.
I'm trying to make some custom native software for android but I need some help getting started.
What I have done so far is getting a HTC Hero, GSM version.
Flashed a custom rooted ROM. update-hero-generic-2.73.405.38-rooted-signed.zip
Installed the sdk and ndk on Windows.
Downloaded and built the open source android project in a VMWare ubuntu image.
What I'm trying to do now is to get ADB talking to my Hero.
I have USB debugging on in the applications->development menu on in the Hero.
When I attach the phone to my XP PC it detects it and asks for drivers, I point it to drivers in android-sdk-windows\usb_driver, windows won't load them because they do not match the hardware.
I can install the driver manually but eventhough the device manager lists it as working (android phone with android composite ADB interface) adb cant find it.
adb devices just give me an empty list.
I tried this on a Windows 7 box and it seemed to work there, is there something special I need to do to get it working on XP?
Installing HTC Sync (drivers included) should resolve.
Thanks!
I actualy tried that before posting but it did not seem to work.
I now tried it again and this time I manually installed the driver in the HTC directory and now it works.
Okay,so i got my HTC HD2 running with default OS windows mobile.
I also installed its application ''Windows mobile device''.
Whenever i connect my phone with USB,the application does not read my phone,so it stays ''Not connected''.
I also tried different usb ports, but still no change.
I also tried Enabling and Disabling ''Enable faster data option'' .
I also restarted my pc ,and the application said ''Connected'' , but not till I ran ''HSPL 3'' ,to unlock it for hacking. It said ''Not connected again'' and it gave me a USB connection failed.
Im running windows 7 32 bit with all updates.I also tried disabling the Antivirus.
Oh,and when i enable ''Enable faster data'' in my phone, device manager shows ''Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter'' under ''Network Adapters''.
So,how can I fix this irritating problem so i can start hacking my phone ?
Help much much much appreciated !
Did you install the latest drivers and WMDC for Windows 7?
Did you check if the cable is ok?
Hello everybody!
I have a problem related to connectivity between my desktop (Windows) and tablet (Android 4.1). I bought a new device (Colorovo City Tab Vision 7) and now I want to use it for testing of my applications, because emulation of android is very slow on my computer, although I forced it to create snapshot every run.
I have downloaded SDK with Google drivers and also some unofficial drivers I found on web. When I connect my device, it first appears 'Other device' (label is CTVision7) and it's marked as unknown. I tried to install drivers (Google) for it, but windows said that they aren't suitable for my device, as it's not able to find them in specified directory.
After these attempts I tried unofficial drivers. Their installation worked and now my device appears as Android phone, what seems to be good.
But when I run
Code:
adb devices
or launch application in eclipse, there's not avaible device.
I have turned USB debugging on, so it should work.
Am I missing some step to make my device avaible for debugging, or are my drivers wrong? Is there any way to get drivers which surely work?
Howdy.
I recently updated my YP-G1 from CM10 to CM 11 [4.4.2]. I need to use my device for Android app development (and have used it before way back when it was on stock, but haven't used it in a very long time), but am unable to get ADB/Eclipse to detect that there is a device detected. Using the emulator is not an option at this point, as I need to do some work with a real camera.
I've got the Android USB debugging enabled on the device, and the little notification that debugging is enabled comes up when I plug it in.
Things I've tried:
1) Update Eclipse/ADT (complete uninstall + reinstall)
2) Update Google USB Driver (from SDK manager)
3) Update Samsung Kies
4) Google
The only related forum thread that I've located for this situation is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776828, which just implies that Windows should be auto-detecting the device. Windows is not doing that.
I have noticed that the YP-G1 drivers do not show up as installed under Device Manager. Perhaps that is the source of the problem? I have not been able to rectify that situation via Kies, so I am unsure. Kies doesn't even detect that the device is connected!
If it matters, I'm running on Windows 8.
Thanks much.
P.S. -- I'd post in the CM11 thread, but since I just registered, I am not allowed to do so, unfortunately.
Edit: I got mine to work finally. I solved my issue by allowing windows to automatically search windows updates for drivers. After I did that it found them and it worked, so try that.
I too am having this issue and it's really bugging me. I've tried everything I can possibly think of but I cannot get the drivers to install. I'm using windows 7 64 bit and it sees the YP-G1 but it doesn't have the drivers so things like kies and adb won't detect it. Any solution would be very helpful.
Strange...that's what the thread I linked to suggested. I've tried that multiple times to no avail. Perhaps Windows 8 doesn't find it, while 7 does for some reason? I've tried doing searches via both Device Manager and Windows Update.
Could you perhaps upload the driver files it found? You should be able to figure out what/where those are by using Device Manager, then right click the YP-G1 and go to Properties, then the driver tab, then driver details. Maybe they'll work on Windows 8 as well as 7. I might try plugging my device into someone else's computer to see if somehow mine is just acting stupid.
Thanks for your reply!
Edit: I've plugged my device into another computer. You're right -- on Windows 7, it can find the drivers just fine. On Windows 8, it can't. Go figure. Now to figure out where to get those files and/or how to get the device recognized..... (??)
Hello, just bought a mobile with android 5.0.2 which as of several android articles it should have multi-user option (ZTE Blade S6 Ultra a.k.a. Vodafone Smart Ultra 6), it didn't had the ability to enable multiuser but I could fix it editing the build.prop file.
However, now I'm facing a very unexpected and big issue with this mobile...
When I create a new user account and install one game which was previously installed on another use, the game of that new user is using the EXACT gamedata!! This is supposed that shouldn't happen!!
Time ago I was using the multiaccount feature on a tablet on android 4.3, and I could create multiple users and each user had its own data. Why is Android 5.0.2 using the exact data on ALL users, even in Guest!? Also, it doesn't let me to create Restricted profiles!!!
Another issue is that my PC doesn't detect the phone, I've installed already the ADB drivers for that phone, but the PC still doesn't detect my device!!! I've tried it already on Windows 10, Windows 7 and even Windows XP on three different PCs, and none detects this phone!!!
Please help me, I've looked already on Google how to solve these issues and I found nothing related with my issues, for the PC issue I've tried everything and solved nothing.
