[Q] Android Lollipop: Delete specific entry from call history - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have upgraded recently to Lollipop recently. I was trying to delete specific entries from the call log and I was surprised to see that there was no such option any more.
In Kitkat, we could select specific call details and remove it from the call history. But I think that functionality is not present any more.
Am I right, or I am not able to find that option, can any one help?

Click on the call log you want to delete, click on details and on the trash bin on the upper right corner.

Got it, thanks!
Somehow whenever i was clickinng on the entry it was dialing that number. I tried it many times. Then I deleted full call log and tried deleting log entries, it worked like you said.
That entire call log was from before my upgrade, may be it was because of that?...

Recents > details > thrash can
After you upgrade to Lollipop 5.0.2, it could be a little tricky! Try this:
1) Touch(Select) the Phone(Handset) icon on the left handside of your main menu. The SPEED DIAL tiles will show up.
2) Touch RECENTS tab. The recent call log will show up.
3) Touch the name of the caller who's recent call you want to delete. The DETAILS will show up.
4) Touch DETAILS. The call details for that respective contact will show up.
5) Touch the THRASH CAN. The call detail will be deleted.

[Solved] How do you add another number for a contact on the phone?

Sprint Hero
Firmware 1.5 (stock)
I have searched for it, and I see no answers....
Problem: I have a contact in "people" named "john smith". "john smith" has a number (or two, or three) entered in for his contact already, let say his "mobile" number. "john smith" calls me and I say "hey where are you calling from?" he tells me he is calling from home. So now I would like to add that number to his contact. I cannot find a way to do this.
I have tried going into "people" then finding the contact, and going into "edit", I've tried pushing and holding everywhere to hopefully find a menu, i've looked in the "menu" and the "add" button looks promising but no go.
The manual says:
1. Display the entry in People
2. Scroll down the screen and tap: ADD>PHONE
3. Tap the type of phone number you want to add (for example, HOME or WORK)
4. Enter the phone number and tap: SAVE
...This sounds great, but when you click on MENU and then click on ADD it asks you to "select a default action".
I know I could add this in my contact entry for "john smith" through gmail, but you would think that I could also do this through my phone, it woould make more sense.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

If you go in via the people widget, and you select a particular contact - one way is to select the three parallel bar button at the bottom of the widget - you can then select the person from the list after this (it defaults to the list). Selecting the contact should show the details for that person. From there, if you hit physical "menu" button, it will present options including "edit". Click on the "edit" option on screen, scroll to the bottom and click on "Add details".
thanks bluehawk, I had forgotten that I posted this.
and forgotten to thank you.

[Q] Calling someone on your contact list

Hey Folks,
I've got a question about calling someone on your contact list. I've only found two ways to make a call:
1) Go to your phone book and press down on the contact for a second. This brings up a menu where you can select the option to modify the number before making a call. From there, just hit the call button.
2) Go to your phone book and tap on the contact and that takes you to an Info page. From there, you can tap the number and it will call. Not to complain about it, but this requires a bit of finesse. There's a TON of space on the screen to have a call button.
Is there something I'm missing? Neither of these options is any good.
1. Press the contact pic n you get a mini menu option to call, txt, it email
2. Download a dialer app-personally, I'm using dialer one. On contact list it has a green button by the name to call instantly. Also has smart dial function; so u can spell contact name using number pad and find contact
3. Create shortcut on home screen for ur fav contacts
1. Long press on homescreen
2. Choose shortcuts
3. Direct Dial
4. Choose the contact you want
5. If you want to call them, just tap on that shortcut from your homescreen directly
I put a bunch of my direct dial contacts in a folder so i can call them with 2 taps essentially

Contact list - first names first?

I may be being really dim, but I cannot find a way to have my contacts sorted by FIRST NAME - it sorts by surname, which I don't like.
Is it possible to change this? I'm on a Sammy based ROM (Omega).
Contacts/settings/.......it's right there in front of you
Still not seeing it.
I'm in Contacts, then when I press the Menu button I get the following options:
Delete
Import/Export
Merge with Samsung
Merge with Google
Accounts
Speed dial setting
Send email
Send message
ha ha ha.....scroll the menu to see hidden options! Embarrassed?
Thanks! Although I've been using Android since the G1, it never fails to surprise me how unintuitive some things can be - although obviously I'm blaming this particular one on Samsung, not Google. Some people wouldn't even know to press the menu button to find more options, let alone scroll a list which looks static and complete :-/

[Q] [URGENT][PACMAN] How do I remove a number from blacklist?

I was going through my call log and noticed that when opened the menu when viewing a particular number (my dad) there was an "Add to blacklist" menu item, which I pressed. Now I can't seem to figure out how to remove the number from the blacklist. Where do I go to find this?

I answered you in the PAC thread. In future, please don't double post questions...
dialer>settings>blacklist. From there you can edit the list.

[app] dial from anywhere using slide dial..:)

main thread:
forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-slide-dial-dial-t2805748
SlideDial is a floating dialer. This means that
you can launch it from anywhere.
You just need to slide to the right from the
device's lower left side area.
Main Futures:
- Direct access to Starred contacts via the
list on the right
- Direct input phone numbers via the dialpad,
or
paste a number previously copied to
Clipboard from any app by tapping on
display block.
- Access to phone's contacts and history.
- Search for contacts by number or letter
Support: Android 3.0 and above
