I was wondering if anyone had any S pen Alternatives? I want to get a bigger stylus that's like a normal size pen. I am not too concerned about price so let me know what is how and how accurate it is.

Personally I like it. The cap with clip is a nice touch. It's a Wacom so there's a chance you'll have to manually adjust the offset.

It does work, but not as well. The Feel for Note is a second version because the first had issues with offset and sensitivity on the Galaxy Note devices.

Got mine today click and collect at Argos and it works perfectly on my Galaxy Note 12.2
No offset that i can detect.
Comes with two spare nibs and there are nib packs available for £6.86. I haven't tried them but they look as though they should fit the Bamboo fine.

HI, sorry but my english isn't very good. I've been using tablets PC since 2006 (do you remember WIndows Xp Tablet edition?) with this tablet model, Electrovaya SC-3100.
A few years later, a bougth this HP Pavilion tx2010es in both cases, the stylus that came with the computer works with Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and NotePro models.
Last week in Aliexpress web site (Home > All Categories > Computer & Office > Tablet Accessories > Stylus Pens For HP computers) there is an item that looks like my HP stylus and I think probably works with your Samsung NotePro is the Digitizer Stylus Pen For HP TC4200 TC4400 HP2710P HP2730P HP2740P stylus electromagnetic pen
I picked up this fujitsu digitizer pen t5000 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00791UTH2/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
The offset is not too pan when holding perpendicular to the screen, but the offset shows at the normal 45 deg writing angle. It is about 1/2 inch or so.
I got the Penbecause I really wanted something with a bigger size and with an eraser that did not require selecting "eraser" in the program.
I also liked it because it would hold the wacom tips I bought, including the felt tip. I wanted to have a little more drag when I wrote, but even though I can do that, it becomes a moot point when you factor in the offset.
Anyone aware of a pen I can use that will take a felt tip but have no offset? I am not looking to be a digital artist, just be able to write fast and smooth.

It works really good with my NotePro, there is absolutely no offset and it feels quite comfortable as it is a bit longer and aslo thicker than the original Samsung one. It has a button on the side, Air Command is working.
I finding that most of these 2nd party pens do not fit in the note pro slot.
kinda has to be that way, you get a bigger pen.
Best thing is, it works even when the Samsung original pen stays in the slot.
Wacom Bamboo Smart
Well, after trying Samsung 8pi S Pen with eraser, Samsung S Pen holder, Wacom Bamboo Feel, Samsung Bluetooth S pen and two custom s pen holders from ebay I found out that Wacom has relased another stylus for samsung tablets and (for me at least) it beats the other ones that I have (up to purchase of Bamboo smart I have been using s pen holder off ebay - the blue one). Now I am using only Bamboo smart. Every other had an offset (Bamboo Feel as well, and yes, it was version for samsung note series and yes, I tried to calibrate it). I am using it mainly with lecture notes in my university (Construction & Engineering) and it is the best, I prefer it over S pen at any time. As for dimensions / build quality it is similiar to Wacom Bamboo Feel - so quite light and plastic, but it is quite comfortable, definitely better than S Pen (I have quite big hands, not lumberjack big but still). I am using it for a week now and I do not see myself using any other in the forseeable future. It comes with two replacment nibs - black and white, there is a difference in how they behave/feel on screen, one is harder and the other "softer".
So if you want some S Pen alternative make sure you'll check Bamboo Smart.
P.S. I know it is not the right place to ask but do you know any app like "Concepts" for iOS on android?

Be sure to buy Bamboo Smart CS-310 which seems to be the newest reincarnation. This one works perfect on the 12.2 Galaxy Note Pro.

Hi all,
I found a nice capacitive stylus and cheap at the same time, so I was wondering how many of you are considering it? Have you used one before?
My point is that it will take care of the fingerprints (most of them), it is small enough to keep on you at all times without noticing... On the other hand you can't do multitouch....

They're only any use if you do enough drawing/painting. Pointless for anything else imho. These apps are a bit thin on the ground atm though. It works ok in Sketchbook Mobile, which is about the only half decent app I've found, but it only works in portrait mode. If you know of any better apps please let me know.

It clips into the headphone port on the device, so your not going to loose it when its not in use.
I find it pretty good, i don't use it all the time, only when needed or i want to do something on the screen that is detailed.

Hi guys,
Not to step on any toes, but I bought a stylus exactly like that one, and have been using it for 2 days now. It is small and compact, quite nice.
I find it really useful on the Transformer, because of the quality I guess: it is as good as a finger and bit more precise. And there are no longer finger traces on my screen!!!!
I tried using it with my HD2 and that did not go so well. The stylus is only good for "clicking", anything else like scrolling, sliding... the stylus is close to useless!?!?!
Anyway, just my experience,

When i think about it, the stylus works with the HD2 but requires a lot more force.... maybe due to the screen protector that i have on the HD2.

I use it to underline and annotate PDFs. You'll take notes faster if you write it on paper and then use the camera to take a picture.
On my g-Tab, the stylus will not work well if your hand touches the screen at any point. That means you need to write while hovering your hand, or use something to prop your hand up. Wearing gloves will not help.

I have purchased the Boxwave stylus ( BoxWave Capacitive iPad Stylus (Jet Black) - not the one pictured earlier) and find that it works pretty well for writepad or Tabnotes ( trial only at the moment) for handwriting however, i am now hooked on Flext9 keyboard using the swipe option, since the last update, it is extremely accurate and I find myself using the stylus with it which makes it ideal as the notes are produced quicker than handwriting and can easily be emailed as they are typed as opposed to handwritten.
If you need to annotate PDFs, use easy PDF from the market as it has some fantastic options for annotation and costs approximately 80 pence which is a bargain, again ideal when used with a stylus.
Got my Boxwave mini stylus today and also the Asus Sleeve.
You know what? The stylus is too mini. It's a bit hard to hold while doing stuff on the Transformer in the Sleeve slanted.
Shoulda bought a regular pen sized stylus.
A side note for those of you ordering styluses, Handrite is the best note taking app I have found. I have been using the free version for a few days with my stylus (Acase from Amazon), and it works like a charm. The stylus is also works great on the TF

There is no digitizer built into the tablet. On a side note I played with my friend's Asus EP121. Windows 7 tablet with 12.1" screen and Wacom digitizer built in. Boy was that small pen accurate and fun to use. Anyone who wants a Windows 7 tablet that is definitely the one to look into.

Boxwave's rock....small or large they all have the cool headphone port clip...my wife even has one with her nook color

My friend had a Crayola stylus that was battery operated and it worked great on my prime. The tip is about half what a regular stylus is and comes to a nicer dull point. Kinda looks like a crayon on the end. I think it is for kids and I have no idea where to get one from but it worked a lot better than my generic stylus that I have.

There is no such thing as a fine tip capacitive stylus. The capacitive sensor needs to detect a minimum amount of surface area (something like 1/4 inch across) in order to register.
The adonit jot/jot pro + conductive grease in the ball joint is as close as you're going to get to a fine tip capacitive stylus.

There's no danger of scratching the screen. The stylus tip is a plastic disc. The monkey glass has a hardness of 7. Hard plastic has a hardness of 3 or 4. I've been using the adonit jot on my screen for almost 4 months. No scratch whatsoever.
Of course, if you worry, just use one of those rubber tip styli.
I use an app called writepad stylus. It's got the best palm rejection algo I've ever seen. All those notes you see I posted were taken while my tablet was in portrait mode and my hand, wrist, and arm rested comfortably on the screen.

The dev of writepad stylus is a very gifted college student. The app itself is 99 cents. Please do not pirate the app. It's only freakin' 99 cents. A donut costs more than that. He and I have been talking trying to think of other possibilities for the app.

Hi, I bought the Writepad myself, using it with my JotPro and the app Touchtune.
The only thing that bothers me is the appearance of the statusbar. Sometimes I touch it and that is very annoying...
Is there a way to hide it in ICS? Looked in the Market but it seems not to work for ICS.
If you have any ideas? (I have root by the way) .

I'm looking for a stylus but in the other thread about the Atmel stylus it seems that others users are reporting some issues using a jot pro, but if I use the touchtune app (registered edition) the jot pro is working fine?
Your note taking sample looks just prefect as a handwrited note. I would like to use the jotpro and my prime in order to draw some schemas to my cutomers. I need something accurate enough to write and draw.
Some else is using that stylus?

I second this recommendation! I paint, sketch, and write just fine with my cheapo homemade stylus. Of course I'm no pro so I don't know if it'd suit your needs just as well.
This is good in a sense that you can have a stylus with comfortable dimensions that's cheap and can be made and replaced easily though the sponge tip doesn't seem like it would wear easily (I don't need to press hard at all though when I use mine).
Also, you can trim the tip and test as you go to find whatever shape and size works best for you.
Other homemade stylus tips:
You can sub the steel wool for the soft part of a 3M brand sponge. Works great!
And if you have a mechanical pencil or pen with a metal barrel or any instrument you can use for writing with a metal part, you can use those too instead of wrapping something in wire or aluminum foil.
There are a couple of videos and random blog posts out there (just do a quick Google of something like..DIY stylus or sponge stylus or whatever) detailing how to do this as well as different variations of it. They're usually made for iPad use but they should work fine with the TFP (mine does amazingly well)
In terms of apps:
I use SketchBook Pro for my art and would also second the recommendation for WritePad Stylus for other scribbles, whatever writing, and doodles. I've tried AntiPaper, Quill, Skitch, and most other free popular-ish apps of this sort and found WritePad to be the best for me. The calibration, flip screen, and palm-rejection features are just awesome.

If you are interesting in taking note with your stylus, I would recommend you to buy the stylus handpad. It's much easier to use the stylus with one of those on.
While most note taking app have a palm rejection function, they wasn't very well implemented. Also, the muti-touch gesture will over-ride the rejection. So I ended up buying the handpad.

I don't think those styli will work. AFAIK it has to do with Samsungs framework. You could try plastic disc ones. I use a dagi stylus, the best stylus I have tried so far.
No, the S-pen is not a capacitive stylus. The reason capacitive styluses have the thick end is because the screens require a certain area to be pressed in order to respond.
The thick ended stylus is better working than it looks it would be. For my money, I go with the Spigen Kuel H14, to the extent of ordering one direct from Spigen because they don't sell them here. It was like $17 and really solid, but everyone has their particular favourite, so go with what seems right for you. I use mine mostly for annotating pdfs in ezpdf too.
The plastic disc one that jgaf was talking about is the adonit jot pro, really accurate and great for drawing but it's really fragile and not hugely portable because of that disc. You can just sling the others in a pocket, but if you lose the jot pro cap, you're screwed.

Yeah, it's fine for writing. The limitations in handwriting aren't to do with the stylus - works best in supernote and Draw Something - but with ezpdf. I don't use the handwriting notes in ezpdf a great deal, because it has all the notes and highlighting features. But it's good enough to underline within text.

Actually I have a dagi, pretty much the same as adonit. Mine came with a cap, just like a normal pen it protects the tip. It is portable, but like you said it is also fragile. If you drop it without the cap the springs that hold the tip will surely bend. they do come with spare points and discs.

I purchased the "ProCase Premium Folio Bluetooth Keyboard Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 Tablet 2014 (SM-T520) and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet (SM-P600)". It comes with the keyboard and a cheap stylus for only $30 (it's now $35). This case is very similar to the one I have for my Surface Pro. The keyboard is magnetic and connects very easily. On the downside, it took 2 weeks for delivery.

is it custom made for the Pro? does it snap into place or does it slide into a leathery sleeve type of thing? my issue with all the others is that i want a snap on fit for the corners and not a slide in type of layout.
for example these type of cases will not work for me:

Yes, according to the company it is specific to the Pro 10.1 and Note 10.1 2014 Editions. But if you are looking for a snap in version, then this will not work for you, it is a slide in. Even though it is a slide in, the outside edge doesn't exceed the bezel except for a very little bit right about the home button (2mm).
i guess i could have described what i meant a little better but this is what i am referring to:
Keyboard case
The case I purchased is the sleeve type, not a snap in. The keyboard slides into a sleeve/frame and is held in place by the sleeve (similar to the 1st image in your screenshots, not the 2nd image). Hope that helps.

Tab Pro but fortunately they are the same size and layout which should eventually open up more quality accessories for us.

although the Tab 4 10.1 and Pro 10.1 appear to have exact same specs everywhere i looked online this case does not fit and will be going back.
really a shame to because it is so nice and professionally built and i have found nothing else like it anywhere.

A real pity. That looked like a great keyboard. It sounds like a stupid question, but how did it not fit? I like specifics.

it appears the Pro is a tad shorter and therefore it didnt reach the top latches to hold it in place. even at $100 i would have dealt with some slight modifications for the quality build if i thought it would have worked but no dice.

I got my hopes up until I kept reading through the thread. Looks like this thread ends the same as my personal search. Samsung has abandoned all Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 customers!
I'm not sure when this was posted since there's no date. But are you sure this will work with tab pro 10.1. I got a similar case from best buy and it didn't work for the tabpro 10.1 even though it was the same size as the tab 10.1. It was so close to working too...just would not go into the case but the kb works fine. I even thought about filing it but decided not to and return it. So is this a tab pro 10.1 or not?
edit: oh I read the rest...yeah this one was close but didn't work. I purchase this same one and returned to bb.
Hi Guys, perhaps it is a bit late, but I bought an Insignia Universal Folio with Keyboard and it works out very well. The keyboard is responsive, the tablet is held by rigid corners, battery stands long time. On the negative side it is a bit heavy and the camera in the back is useless :crying: All this for 79$
tab4 and tab pro definitely different sizes
Hi - very useful information that the tab4 Logitech case doesn't fit (and tab3 is also similar, closer in fact, with a Logitech case also available for it). Note that gsmarena clearly defines slightly different sizes in one dimension in particular, but not by much:
tab4: 243.4 x 176.4 x 8 mm (9.58 x 6.94 x 0.31 in)
tabpro: 243.1 x 171.4 x 7.3 mm (9.57 x 6.75 x 0.29 in)
tab3: 243.1 x 176.1 x 8 mm (9.57 x 6.93 x 0.31 in)
I can't help wondering if there's a way to bridge the gap, but 0.5 cm width difference wouldn't be easy I guess - doesn't sound like anyone tried?

Bamboo Stylus feel carbon
What are the differences besides the carbon is larger in diameter and heavier? Which is better for our Note PRO 12.2?
The shell is the only difference. (And the price). The inside and functionality of the pen is identical.
Like shadowlea said internals are the same. The carbon is a little more heavy in the hand. Because I draw, do math, and chem on mine I like the heavier pen so I returned my normal feel for the carbon one.
From this forum, it seems that there is no offset issue with version 2 of Bamboo Stylus feel. However, from comments on the following youtube, there seem to be offset problems. Any comments?

Some have it, some don't. The point of any Wacom pen is that you have to adjust it to your own preferred setting, but most people don't know that.

That's the one I've got.
Keep in mind that there will always be a slight offset if you hold the pen at a sharp angle. The Spen does the same.

The difference in numbering is the country it is sold in.
CS-3002 is the EU product code.
CS-300UK2 is, despite the highly deceptive labelling, the US/Asia product code.
(why they chose to put UK in the non-UK variant's labelling, we'll never know.)
Both are the same pen. (CS300UW2 is the White variant for the US, CS-3002W for the EU)
CS-300(and CS-300W) is the one for all the tablets using Wacom's technology, whereas the 2 is the one specifically tailored for the Galaxy Note series.
The CS-3002 actually has a shorter tip than the CS-300. Which is why some people had to saw off a bit of the tip to reduce the offset, they bought the generic one.
Some people think the 2/Note version is new, but they are very much mistaken, it came out around the same time as first Note tablet.

The Carbon is a bit heavy for me. I bought the Bamboo Feel for Galaxy Note (CS-300U/W2-AX , blue box with letters in white). It is very nice. I don't notice any offset out of the box. Thanks ShadowLea and Gatsrom.
Under S-Note, is it true that not all the pen has pressure sensitive?
I noticed that after converting the handwriting into typed characters, the eraser can no longer be used to erase the characters. Is there a way to do remove unwanted characters?
