The purple drake method worked for me. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
Ooops. This is for rooting, not unlocking.

I was just wondering, can we use L90 KDZ file over our G2 Mini, since our device is extremely similar talking about the D405 version. I've been thinking about this after i used the wrong aboot.BIN for the G2 Mini and it didn't bricked my phone entirely. So, what do you think :silly: ?
If you want to try it go ahead and do it.
I think that you will end up bricking your device.
It's at your own risk!

Hello,
I've searched the whole forum and on the web and haven't found any way to root the LG G2 Mini D625, not even with towel root. Is there a way to root this phone? i'm really desperate to do it as my phone came loaded with huge amounts of bloatware and want to free that space.
Thanks
You can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732311

That was VERY helpful, many thanks to you and everyone for the suggestions
:good:
I've been a LG G2 Mini owner for like a month and I'm eager to get into the rooting business cause of the fuzzines that is caused from the LG UI. I have a minor problem though. Everyone seems to use towelroot for instant rooting and everyone is getting the confirmation message right away. Well when I press "make it rain" its says "Device not supported". What should I do? Also do I need to have unlocked bootloader do use towelroot first? The unlock bootloader process seems tricky at the moment for our phones and I'm hesitating to do it.

I don't know why you receive the message "Device not supported" but for sure you don't need to unlock the boot loader.
My phone is rooted with towel root but the boot loader still locked

I've tried the Stump method Vaggelis(I'm greek too and glad to meet one at this particular corner of XDA) with both the 1.0 and 1.2 apk files says "devices not supported" again. Note that i'm on V10h soft version.
Furthermore when I'm trying to do the G2 method(the second link) I'm getting this:

Same here - warranty replacement now not taking root with Towelroot
Had older version VS980, got warranty replacement sent. Towelroot worked flawlessly on previous phone, now not supported on this device. See attached. Help?

You should ask at your device's forum or at TowelRoot' s thread.

As far as I know, newest software update blocks this methods.
Before updating, I rooted my D620r with TowelRoot v1 with no problems. Now, I've updated to V10e and both Towel and Stump says "device unsupported".
LG G2 Mini
vers:LG-D620r
app: V10g-226-03
towelroot v1 rooted
After installing Towelroot receive this error message after 20 seconds
Unfortunately, the towelroot stopped!
What should I do to the phone model or what is the solution if ROOT to work?
There's something new on the root process?
You have to use the oldest root method which was availble for D620 - flash update.zip from EXT3 formatted sdcard using stock recovery.

Hello yesterday i updated my lg g2 mini d620r from lg pc suite. It was a small update around 200mb. After booting i saw that the version was th V10b-222-01.The only things that were added were some google apps disappointed i tried to re-root my phone with towelroot as i had done. But now the towelroot couldn't root my phone. I think that lg has patched the kernel so we can't root it with towelroot. Is there any way to root again the lg g2 mini d620r without downgrade?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying Vagelis1608. I will try the second way with the sd-card format, and i will tell you if it worked for me. I have a question. How you bricked your g2 mini? Because i don't want to do the mistake you did and brick mine too.
I hope they will recover your g2 mini :fingers-crossed: !

I made a mistake while modifying the about partition of my device.
However, they can't see that i broke it, so they will sent a replacement unit (under the warrant ).

Hello guys!
Having recently updated a lollipop my LG G2 Mini D620 LTE no brand with KDZ file available on the network, I was wondering if you could do a root on the device to be able to uninstall any application annoying and increase processor speed "1.2 Ghz- -> 1.4 Ghz"
Also, I would prefer not to use the apk KIngroot because reading, I noticed that send some sensitive data on your smartphone in a remote server ...
Thanking you in advance, I offer a warm greeting!
Kingroot is the only method who worked for me so far.
And a simple root app can't overclock the CPU. You need a custom kernel. Bootloader and recovery work for Lollipop, but there still isn't any kernel compatible with that release. Give the developers some time.

No, honestly no! I think I'll try as soon as possible ... And for the kernel? Can you tell me how to find one that allows me to overclock? Do you agree?
Thank you for your help

No, it's a different aboot. Some developers told about it in the Lollipop thread, in the next days Zaaap72 will publish the guide to unlock bootloader in Lollipop.
