A few days ago I accidently formatted my sd card by resizing sd-ext (I don't even know resizing sd-ext from CWM will format the sdcard)
Thing I have done:
Recovered the Nandroid backup with undelete software
Tried a full restore in CWM (Check mismatch in system.yaff2.img)
Tried to restore /data only (Also it doesn't let my to do this)
What should I do?Can I force the phone to restore the backup?
That Nandroid backup is my last resort to get my app data back.I don't want to play the game all over again. So plz help me
Umm... This might be a Noob question but i've flash a ROM and I want to revert it back to the stock rom, Could I use the Nandroid backup to restore the stock ROM?
NAndroid restore
Yes You can restore!... But Ist tell you Backup of ur Stock ROM ? in your Internal or External SD card?
Thankyou for replyin, yes the backup is in the SD card
Reply!
Just go to recovery mode when you switch on your device and flash your nandroid backup located in your sd card. Simple as that!
1)Boot your phone into recovery.
2)go to Backup and restore.
3)Choose the nandroid backup file.
4)select,wait and and when its done reboot and volia! its done.
Thanks
Can TWRP recovery create a nandroid backup that's >2GB and restore it successfully ?
I created a nandroid backup with CWM on my gs3 and when I needed to restore it,it failed to restore /data.I searched around for the reason and found out that if one of the ''tars''(which in most cases is /data) is more than 2GB,CWM won't restore it properly.Luckily,I found out that titanium backup got an option to restore apps and data from a nandroid. So the question is:does TWRP recovery has the same problem ?
No. TWRP splits the /data backup into multiple parts and restores it perfectly. Right now it splits into parts of 1GB size each even though it can do 2GB parts (it's mentioned in the changelogs why), but the TWRP team is working on eliminating the 2GB limit entirely. So yeah, it is the better recovery.

Hi everyone,Before Installing WanamLite V6.0 I made a Nandroid backup. Now I want to revert to stock ROM which is the Nandroid backup I made, but wanted to know, does Nandroid Backup Also Restore MODEM? Cause I don't want modem to be restored.
Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:
A standard Nandroid does not.
CWM does not backup or restore the modem.
Not too sure about other recoveries though....
I'm using Official CWM 6.0.3.1! And what about folders on the internal SDCard? Cause WanamLiteV6 is Android 4.2.2 and messed up Internal SDCard with emulated/0 folder...
you should be ok.
sdcard/0 might still exist after you've restored but can be deleted....
Will try to restore then, will let you know
If you face problems going back to your nandroid try using philz recovery and completely wiping the phone before you restore. It should get rid of everything.
hi i recently updated from twrp 2.7.1 to 3.0.0 twrp recovery on my xt1022. although i am getting some new options in this version when trying to make nandroid backup.
i am getting these partitions option :
