lg g2 (Ls980) not turning on. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HEy guys after rooting my phone and booting it up it worked fine. After a couple days i decided to flash a custom rom to it. All went well and after flashing is said to reboot. After it shut down there was nothing. I cant boot to recovery or even to the LG logo. After holding down the power and volume down button for 20 seconds the red led will blink for 8 seconds...then 8 seconds more and it will do that for ever. Plugging it into my computer the computer will open up like 15 partitions. saying i need to format before i can use it. Now i did back up the phone before flashing and i have the file on my computer. How can I fix this?

Try to enter download mode. If your computer can detect the phone, then you can try to flash it manually.
Download LG G2 Stock Firmware. You can google it because I still cannot include link on my post.
How to enter download mode:
Turn off the phone. In your case you can pull your battery out, wait for 5 seconds, and then reinsert the battery.
Press volume up while connecting the USB cable connected to the computer.
Install LG G2 driver. (See attachment)
Flash it using flash tool. (See attachment)
How to flash manually:
Run the UpTestEX.exe.
Change Select Type into "3GQCT".
Change PhoneMode into “DIAG”.
Select kdz file (Stock Firmware that you want to flash)
Click on the “NORMAL WEB UPGRADE TEST” button.
Click on the “Upgrade Start” button.
On “Select Country & Language” choose Republic of Korea, select English as default language and proceed.
Wait for the flashing process, in the end your phone will reboot automatically.
Unplug your phone when you are done.

Thanksman However there is a problem i seem unable to get to download mode. My screen dosent show anything no LG symbol or anything. Only the backlight of the phone lights up. Any other methods of getting to download mode? Theccomputer says the drivers arent installed but they are. The computer recognizes it as QHSUSB_BULK. I am downloading the 2.1GB kdz file right now for it.

I would really like to return to Froyo, but... I don't understand what rajko34 did.
Like, the v10 baseband is available but where I can get a stock froyo rom to flash with the LGMDP.exe?
If I flash with KDZ, the baseband is flashed/downgraded too?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I am replying to this post just want that other should aware about the facts that Downgrading from 2.3.3 (V20) to 2.2.2 (V10) is possible and is successful using KDZ. You just have to take care of some below Points before flashing:
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING GOES WRONG TO YOUR DEVICE. TRY ON YOUR OWN RISK
1. Always Use latest driver from LG and make sure that your device is disconnected and any previous version of drivers should be uninstalled from "add and remove programs" using Windows XP SP3 system (Including LGE Virtual Modem, etc. etc. ..!!! (The one who already have latest drivers and clean PC won't find "Virtual Modem" in the device manager, So just Chill ) ..Check device manager and uninstall if they still there and also uninstall drivers from other vendors like Nokia, samsung, etc.
2. After uninstalling drivers , restart your system and make sure that your user is an administrator and then install New LG drivers from the LG official website (Just Google== LG P500 drivers ). and Disable LGE Virtual Modem if still its appearing in the device manager.
3. Always make sure that USB Debugging is enabled on the device and your system supports USB 2.0 (High Speed), so notification like "Hi-Speed device is plugged into Non Hi-speed USB" should not appear.!!
3. Extract KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip and Install msxml.msi and reboot your system again.!
4. Again you need administrator.!
5. Now Plugged the Device via USB.!, System will install drivers for your device. Wait let the system completes the driver installation .!
6. Unplugged the USB from the phone and Restart the Phone.
7. Wait for the phone to Boot and load completely (Approx 5 minutes).
8. Set Display Brightness timeout to 30 minutes and ensure USB debugging is ON.
9. Plug the device again and keep it at a place where it will not get disturbed. (Also ensure that You have Good working Data Cable, Hope Your Original one is still alive )
10. Open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe, select type "3GQCT" and phonemode "DIAG"
11. Click browse and select "V10E_00.kdz" file from where you have download it, I have used Indian version because I have Indian LG O1. (I recommend V10E_00.kdz because i used it twice and it works lika a charm :victory: )
12. Now the Flashing Part .! :fingers-crossed: ...!!. Click Launch Software Update.!
13. The phone will goes to Emergency Mode (Don't panic).! and the flashing process will start.. ! wait for flashing to complete.! Ensure that your system will not goes on Standby or sleep.! And If you are using a Laptop I suggest you to plug in the power first.!
14. I always make my mouse moving while flashing process is in progress. It make me feel better . So you can also try this
15. The flashing process may take 5-10 minutes to complete. and you phone will restart itself indicating the offline battery charging screen.!
16. Wait until KDZ prompt "FINISHED" in the end of the log.
17. Unplug the USB and wait for 5 seconds and press and hold Home+VolumeUp+Power simultaneously for Hard resetting the phone .
18. When The screen Shows LG Logo leave the buttons and Hard reset will take half a minute to complete.
19. Wait and Let the device Boots ups completely. (First Boot will take 5 minutes to get you to the lock screen)
20. Done.!! Congratulations.! You are now Downgraded to 2.2.2 . :highfive:
Good Luck :good:
IF anything went wrong during the flashing process or KDZ gave you any error in between the process.! Please DONT pull the battery out from the Phone. Else It will HARD BRICK YOUR PHONE.! And u are not even able to get the phone Power on..I mean Dead! Just Find Support on XDA and try and try again.! (Also suggest you to do not unplug the data cable, it may also lead to HARD brick the phone.)
In this situation ensure that you have a right flashing KDZ file. and IF you have the right one use different "phonemode" like Emergency, Emergency_CS, etc and try and try again.!
IF still wont work try to shake your phone and touch the screen again and again and try to launch the software upgrade
If still device is not responding try lgmdp method and try to flash a recovery and Image.
If nothing works restart you system and then again launch the software update in emergency mode.! (This option works for me once but i recommend you to try it as a last choice)
Don't pull the battery out and ask for support on xda.! Might be someone save your phone's life.
If the phone is still stucked you have to get it to the service centre. (If your phone is in warranty they will replace the PCB free of cost)

[Q] Big problems with Huawei U8600-1 (T-Mobile Move Balance) -missing files

Good day to you all kind folks!
Basicly, i have the same problem as mr. adijat from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816263 .
I was digging about link2sd with the phone from the subject and messed it up.
I managed to get it to boot to android again, but with limited capability:
1. Once connected to PC, it only charges, no mass storage, no usb debuging, no nothing.
2. Half of the applications are missing, like GooglePlay, Google Account Sinchronization etc.
I did try to install those manually, but to no avail, if i try to install GooglePlay.apk it just says: Application not installed.
I was google-ing for a way to adb push those applications, but i have no idea what parts of android system are responsible for USB controlers, and every try to find out doesnt end so good.
As for the original stock rom/firmware from huawei, they DO have the phone listed on their download page, but nothing to download from there, and from another sites i cant seem to find the specific rom for this model, although i've tried to install some similar ROMs like official U8650 and S8600, none worked ( when i enter in update screen, step 1/2 finishes and as soon as step 2/2 starts it says "Update Failed" and thats it.
I can't seem to get it to fastboot mode anymore also (Shut down > Plug to PC > Volume down+Power 2 sec > 10 sec Power ), because when i plug it in to PC while its shut down it doesnt go to battery charging screen, it just stays on white loading screen.
I'm baffeled with this, i'm not much of an expert on this stuff but i know the basics, and cant figure it out.
If anyone has any solutions, it would be great!
Greetings from Croatia and I'm sorry in advance if i posted in wrong part of the forums, this is the best i could find.

Rooted SGH i777 Won't Boot After Factory Reset

I decided to do a factory reset on my rooted SGH i777. When I did the factory reset, the phone was plugged into my computer. Now when I turn on the phone I see the Samsung Galaxy logo and then the screen goes black (no backlight) and the phone is completely unresponsive. Is there any hope to save my phone?
US variants have their own specific fora, your thread belongs here. I've asked mods to move it for you, sit tight until they do. Generally speaking (and this is the only advice I'm prepared to give you as I don't have your specific device, but the advice holds true for all Samsung phones), if you don't have download or recovery modes, you're probably boned.
I'm sure other people will suggest a few 'longshot' things you can try which might have a very very rough chance of working when your thread gets moved to the right place though.
I'd say there is a fairly good chance...
Can you boot into download mode? If so, then it's very likely. Just flash the stock firmware with Odin. You can download the necessary firmware file from the Download Repository. If you need any additional help, just ask.

Generally, a hard bricked phone is one that exhibits no signs of life. If there are any signs of life, buttons light up, boot screen appears, screen flickers, etc, then it is not hard bricked, and is probably recoverable. But first, you need to get it into download mode.
If the phone is hard bricked, you can get it back with jtag repair from a reputable shop such as Mobile Tech Videos.
There are several ways to put the phone into download mode. You should try all of them that you can before you give up.
Recovery mode:
With the phone off (and not connected to the computer), and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr continuously until the initial boot screen appears the second time.
Download mode:
1. With the phone off and connected to the computer via USB cable, and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr.
2. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- and vol+ (but not pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
3. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- (but not vol+ or pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
4. Attempt each of the above three options with the battery removed from the phone. The computer will supply the power to the phone.
5. Use Android Debug Bridge (adb) which will only work if USB debugging has been already turned on in Developer Options, since you can't boot into the system to turn it on. With the battery installed and the phone connected to the pc via USB cable, use the command "adb reboot download".
6. Use a USB jig. With the battery installed insert the USB jig into the USB connector of the phone. Some have reported that this method works when no other method would work.
Thanks for that fantastic explanation!
This worked for me:
2. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- and vol+ (but not pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
Now, how do I fix my phone with download mode?
Do I need to put a factory firmware image back onto the phone? It currently has rooted firmware that was working perfectly fine until I did a factory reset.
I would suggest that you flash the latest stock firmware, I777UCMD8 (Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean) which you can download from the Download Repository. After flashing that you can root using the Framaroot application using the Aragorn exploit.
If you want custom firmware, once rooted you can install either Mobile Odin lite or Mobile Odin Pro and flash a custom kernel which has ClockworkMod Recovery. Following that, you can flash any firmware of your choice.
To get you started, and in case you need them, here are the directions for using Odin to flash the stock firmware (copy and paste):
How to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85 (recommended). It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
11.) Once the flash is complete, the phone will reboot into system.
Thanks!
With your help, I was able to recover my phone. Thank you! I will be using stock firmware. Last time I had my phone rooted, it was so slow it was unusable.

[Q] How do i recover the lenovo a820

I tried to reset my phone but it rebooted in the middle of restoring. now when i power on my phone all i get is a green android and what looks like restoring but then the phone just reboots after 3 seconds. if i press power and volume+ /volume- to enter clockwork mod i just get the same thing as when i power on. it looks like the phone is restoring but it just reboots. is there any way i can recover my phone using meta mode or factory mode, as i can't enter recovery. thanks for any help. note: i have tried to recover by this method, without success.
1. Download Lenovo drivers, unzip the archive. Turn off the phone and remove battery. Open device manager and connect the phone to PC. Watch for new devices. It will be displayed as МТ65хх Preloader. You need to be quick, because it will dissapear in some second. Click on it with the right button and select update driver. Point the wizard to the driver folder, it will install the correct driver automatically.
If it doesn't work with removed battery you can try to power on the phone and turn on developer options in settings or enter meta mode – hold Volume Down and Power buttons. Then connect the phone to PC again.
2. Download and extract Recovery zip and Flash tools. Run Flash Tools, click on DL DA All With Check Sum, load the scatter file located in Recovery folder, uncheck Preloader and hit Download (F6). Remove battery from phone and connect it to PC. When done, a green circle will appear.
3. Enter recovery mode – hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until you see the logo. Make a backup of your current system first. Install new zip.
OK... most imp thing can you boot in normal mode??? if yes you just need to install android recovery. if not then you have to flash stock ROM ... download it from here needrom .com/mobile/lenovo-a820-12/ (remove the space between .com n needrom ) . in case you you just have problems with recovery then select only recovery in so flash else select all options.
hit thanks if you find it valuable.

i can't get the phone to connect without the battery, i can only get it in factory or meta mode and in these modes i can't flash any rom.
if you can go into factory mode den mobile's perfectly fine. you just need to flash stock ROM once.
1) switch off your phone
2) open the sp flash tool
3) you will see Scatter-Loading option click it and locate the scatter file (it is present in the ROM folder you downloaded)
4)now press download button
5)after pressing download button connect your phone via USB cable
it may take 5-10 mins n you are done... you don't need to turn your phone ON...

Help! LG G3 possibly bricked!

I am pretty new to this rooted community and i unfortunately felt a too confident with everyone saying it is really easy. I did a one click root on my lg g3 vs985 (35B version) and was successful. The next step was to install twrp and i attempted so with flashify and the latest twrp IMG. The recovery boot never worked and always did a normal boot. I resorted to this one tutorial which said to use an app called autorec. This where it went wrong. The reboot made my screen blank and none of the buttons did anything. I plugged it in and my laptop still recognized the phone. I pulled the battery and plugged in and the screen turned on (thankfully) and shows a missing battery screen. With the battery in i tried turning it on with the power and volume down button on and it vibrated. Now randomly vibrates. Please help i don't know what to do!
This forum is extremely unhelpful, but i managed to get it back to stock. I was missing some drivers and not being careful, i almost ended up with a brick.
What did you do to fix the issue? My phone is doing nearly the same thing though it was after installing JasmineROM that it occurred. The screen is blank unless I pull the battery and plug it in to see the missing battery icon.

4. Install a program called LG Flash Tool 2014 (Extract and put it into a directory you want)
5. Download the KDZ of the stock software you want (forum around here but I don't remember where)
6. Put the KDZ file into the LG Flash Tool folder
7. Enter CDMA and the KDZ file
8. Click normal flash which will bring you to a screen.
9. There will be menu with alot of blank things, don't worry just click start
10. It will being you to a LG mobile support screen.
11. Wait till the meter completes
12. If it there's an error at the end saying connection failed do not worry the bar on your phone should begin moving
13. Your phone will then boot into stock and you can do what you want from there.
