For s5830i /5839i device use my instruction @ post#4 according to your correct PDA/CSC/MODEM and Country/ Region /Carrier ; follow the procedure from the line "-1. Download one of the newest non wipe....till you reach the end of the post" I am assuming you have an access to download mode and not hard - bricked your device .

Recovery / Download modes
Hi,
My father have some trouble with his S. Ace GT-S5830i and asked me to help him. He couldn't open the apps manager anymore so I tried a Factory rest like 4 times but the problem wasn't solved. I thought of flashing the officiel ROM but I ran into some problems.
I manage to root the device with Kingoroot because I couldn't do it manually from the recovery mode. When I press the keys (power+home+vol+) I get the recovery menu but it's not working. When I choose anything from the menu (reboot, update from sd card, wipe ...) I get nothing just a triangle with (!) in it. I can't reboot the phone unless I remove the battery.
Then I tried Odin to flash the ROM but it didn't recognize the phone. When I do the vol (+) + vol (-) + Power I get in the Factory mode (and not the download mode)

Hi,
ClockworkMod Recovery is not made every year.
ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.8, was made to be higher than the default from firmware.
There is also a ClockworkMod 6, that I do not recommend it because you can brick your phone.

Thanks for this advide. I think it is helpfull.

I just done this process. But my network is not working. It shows network error. I changed the sim and it shows the same. What to do?

[Q] Rooting Unlock Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5839i

Hello to everyone, well, i have just got my new Samsung galaxy ACE model GT-S5839i , the problem is that i have been reading a lot of tutorials, about how to root, or unlock the samsung galaxy ACE, but its seem they have done something with the new version and its not working.
There are a lot of stuff out there about the GT-S5830 but anything about the GT-S5839i wich is the one i have got.
So if there is someone who could help me to tell me about how to root this phone, or tell me how to enter the recovery mode, it would be very helpfull.
Thanks.
Here you go
I have the Ace but the model just before yours and all I do is hold volume down and the centre button untill the phone turns on and screen goes black.
Install clockworkmod recovery google it.

GT-S5830i menus
Hi! i gave my girlfriend a Samsung GT-S5830i. She has a t-mobile card, but i brought a Telenor phone. So i began to unlock... Ive found the Recovery menu...
Recovery:
First press and hold the Home button and the Volume Up button, then press and hold the power button. The Samsung Galaxy Ace letters appears, and then disappears. Now release the power button only... The Samsung Galaxy Ace text appears again. When the text changes to bright yellow, release the buttons, and the recovery comes up...
The download menu:
Press and hold both the volume up and volume down button, then press and hold the power button...
A warning message comes. press vol up... [[!! beware of differences berween GT-S5830 and GT-S5830i... They are not compatible. You brick your phone when you upload a different kernel!!]]
The zip file for root is below....
(if i uploaded a wrong zip, please PM me that...)
i couldn't unlock it. Ive tried all of methods, i've found. The only method, that now works, hte Z3XBOX, but it costs 120$ :O
looking for a solution on this as well ...

Hello,
I was hopping that post about rooting S5839i but I didn't see any tuto about it. I tried with "unlock root" and "SuperOneClick" but didn't get result.
Always process stop with this message for unlock root : "Failed to get shellroot" or "Wait for device" for superoneclick. The process is stopped althought drivers are well installed, debbuging usb is checked, I reboot computer ..etc.
I need another way to root this phone please, samsung s5839i v2.3.6
Thanks before

Well, I did it now !
This is a very simple way to root s5839i.
Put this file in sd card (don't unzipped it !), power off phone, enter into recovery mode (home + volume up + power one) then select "update from card" and choose the file root.zip. Reboot phone, that's it

To unlock galaxy ace. First you should root you ace. Google (gingeroot.apk download)
Also transfer apk file to phone and installe. Click root and it should root it.
After that you should go to the market and download galaxy ace unlock. Open it and it will ask you to give it root permission. Click yes. Copy down the code that comes up. There should be 3 codes but they should be the same.
Turn off your phone and put in a different sim. A box should come up telling you to put a password in. So type in the number you copyed down. It should say unlocked if something like that. You will have unlocked your phone.
YES THE UNLOCKING APP IS FOR GALAXY ACE BUT WILL ALSO WORK OF GALAXY ACE 2 AND GALAXY ACE PLUS
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
if the free methods dont work, i have an answer for u, send me pm if interested
partner has this phone. It's a great little phone but has anyone got apps to ext partition working?

Hi all,
I've got a problem with my GT-S5839i (2.3.6). When rooting it using the root.zip file, everything seems to be ok, BUT superSU doesn't work (no SU binary). So, I have a look inside /system/xbin and there is nothing new except busybox. The su, sh ans sqlite3 binaries are not presents.
Any idea ?
is this file (root.zip) finally works????

Successful root
I was able to successfly root my GT S5839i following post by fellow junior member (use link below). Unfortunately as a total noob to android I,m unsure of the CWM S5839i zip as I am still reviewing threads to explain function, compatibilty and stability on my model galaxy. But if I hazard a guess Its intials may stand for clockworkmod, I dowloaded from google play hoping to get the most up to date version but found my model was unsuported and lacked knowledge to try manual install. Will seek the knowledge

I had problem with superSU "no SU binary and unable to update this is problem" error appeared. My fault as explained in previous post total noob, thought I was getting ahead of myself and after reading other threads realised had not backed up sys etc so decided to use the unroot option in the SU settings to then do a factory reset and start again. Was taking ages, talking over an hour presumed app had crashed so exited with home button thus error msg and phone still rooted. Was able to rectify by dowloading unroot.zip and in maintanance mode (power button+home key+volume up) update from SD card to unroot device then performed factory reset. SU still present and not working but rooted phone and then updated app at play store and all is well. Probably not best route as it would of been nice if I had a backup as then had to reload all apps lost. Reading dev thread on superSU by Chainfire (Think thats right) there is also a superSU zip v 0.99 file which if you search forums will find the file and can also be updated from SD card in maintanance mode which may solve your binary issue but I have not tested this method. So might be wise to check thread as similar probs were reported.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 BRICKED

I tried to root my S3 (i9300) that I just bought from a friend with a custom ROM and it got bricked. After following most of the guides from similar threds, I was able to make the boot screen appear but now it won't get past that!!!
it shows an error at the top left conner in green color reading as follow: jump kernel
can anyone kindly advise me or guide me to how I can make the phone work again?
If it had a custom rom then it was already rooted. Follow the guide in general forum to flash back to stock rom via odin on your pc. If you can access download mode (from off hold volume down, home then power button until the Samsung logo appears) then thus should work.
Make sure you read and fully understand what you are doing otherwise you'll end up with a full brick.

[SOLVED] Bricked/Stuck after using ODIN Root?

Hi, all,
I used the ODIN Root for my T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge (model 925). I did everything, downloaded the proper zips and exe's and all, and began to root. Everything was going fine, my ODIN exe told me everything was fine, and my phone boots up...
...and stays stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: Powered by Android" splash screen.
I CAN'T EVEN TURN IT OFF!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
HOW TO SOLVE:
Even though the phone is on, Volume Down + Home + Power will still boot into Download Mode. So do that.
Use the Samsung Galaxy S6 (NOT edge! Yes, the 920 file) zip instead of the Edge zip. And don't use the included .exe - use the official, latest ODIN EXE.
I have the same issue !
So i need to flash the 920's root file ? It won't really brick my phone ?? Or It will boot my phone ?
Thanks !

I initially used odin to flash OI1 update, after a rom I was using caused problems and I got bootloop. It changed bootloader value to b:3 and I'm unable to downgrade now so I used smart switch which didn't recognize device so used emergency recovery and still bootloop. I have factory reset and wipe cache multiple times along with adb side load and individual flashes of bootloader, modem, kernel, flashed custom kernel and twrp to access fix permissions and to mount partitions with advanced wipe etc and still wont boot past logo. Also during one fix attempt phone said can't mount system.. Idk I'm not understanding where the problem is .everything says successful but I'm still in bootloop. Please help. I've spent hours everyday for the past week searching & trying different things that seem might help so open to any suggestions.
Hello ,
if phone stuck on logo it means you played with EFS .
If phone Stuck on Logo After Flash Stock it Means Phone has Bad Root Key it know as DRK (DEV Root Key)
It Takes very long to find me perfect solution.
You will need to root phone. ( to turn on )
You will need an UART Interface and Uart Cable.

Hi, can someone please elaborate on this?
I have the exact same issue with the T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925T
I've tried flashing G920FXXU2BOFJ with Odin but it just fails
I also flashed G925TUVS3DOJC perfectly with Odin but it's still stuck at the GS6 Splash Screen
Samsung Smart Switch does not work.
Can someone please send me the exact link to the file they used to fix this. Thank you

Same happened with me .. This is Bogus. Help me. First I flashed BOOTSPL_S7262XXUAMJ3 as mentioned, then lot of grey lines started coming on the screen instead of Samsung pro GT S 7262. Then I used odin and flashed the other file which came out of whitefixS7262.rar that is BOOTSPL_S7262JVUANB2.tar. After flashing the second file, my phone just bricked. None of the buttons are working now, neither the phone is getting booted, nor I can go to download mode or any mode. PLEASE HELP AS MY PHONE IS BRICKED AFTER DOING THIS.
