USB tethering not working - Ubuntu Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not able to get USB tethering working. I'm following this guide:
http://linuxg.net/ubuntu-touch-rece...-usb-tethering-see-how-to-enable-the-feature/
and all seems like it is working properly...except my network icon spins and spins, but never connects. I've got LTE and everything else is working properly, but I just can't get this to connect. any help please?

[Q] Playbook

Does anyone know how to get the x10 WiFi or Bluetooth connection working on a playbook? I am currently on CM7 rom.
Please help
What do you mean? Tethering to it and pairing? Should work just fine. I dont have any problems. Not running CM 7 at the moment but if your wifi and bluetooth work then should be good.
I tried BT tether as well as WiFi tether and they don't work. On CM7 roms the WiFi tether only works in ad-hoc mode which the playbook does not support. maybe i will try a different rom.
pairing works but not tethering
Rom's based on stock seem to work, I can tether my data connection to the playbook. As for the bluetooth, it pairs but I am unable to actually send any files back and forth (not sure if this option is actually available to non-bridged devices), it runs as a audio/video remote, currently using OS2 Beta, so maybe thats an issue, not sure, didn't check on OS 1.08
Wifi tethering working Blackberry Playbook
Hi,
i´ve had the same issues, beeing not able to wifi tether, with my playbook and Samsung Galaxy S2. Wifi tethering worked with every other device but not with my playbook.
Bluetooth tethering seems to be working with every BB and only some other devices.
So the problem must be in the wifi from bbpb.
Since yesterday there is 2.0.0.7111 beta for Playbook.
I installed the beta and now wifi tether works. I don`t get disconnected anymore.
hope that will work 4 you too.

Sorry, i`m not able to post Links =( ... just google 2.0.0.7111

[Q] Internet options for Win7 with Intel BGN 1000

So I finally rooted my 3D, since I had to replace it due to the phantom screen touches issue.
What are my options for getting some internet on a Windows 7 laptop with an Intel BGN 1000 card built in, USB or Wireless? I flashed MeanRon 3.92 and the built in Wifi Tether doesnt work with it when this laptop is running Windows 7, works fine with Ubuntu. The unlocked Sprint Hotspot works, but I dont know if I'll actually get charged for that if I try to use 4g. I installed Barnacle Wifi, but that didnt work either. I done various searches and cant find much info that is current.
Ideas?
Thanks

[Q] CM10 : Tethering not working

Hello,
I have a SG3 (i9300) and I have an issue with CM10 (and 10.1) :
Bluetooth Tethering and USB tethering doesn't work (wifi tethering not tested yet).
If I test with Omega or Stock Samsung Rom : no problem, 100% working.
I've test with CM 10 noobproof edition (flashable with "Odin cm-10-20120920-ODIN-i9300.tar") : tethering work but the wifi does not work anymore... :silly:
(This is the only CM10 rom I tested for which Tethering works)
I also tested with Paranoid, temasek's UNOFFICIAL CM10.1 BUILD (and 10), official (nightly) build, ...
I tested by putting back the phone "stock", unrooted before flash CM10 : no way...
I can connect my computer to my i9300 : ping OK, but no internet connexion.
Help ?
Sorry about my English, I'm French
Hmm, no replies yet. We can't be the only 2 people who are having issues with tethering on cm10.
For me I could not tether on my Nexus S 4G stock, stock but rooted, nor on 2 different night lies. Stock, I downloaded an app, it broadcasted the ssid and I connected to it, but no routing.
On cm10 the tether app wouldn't broadcast the said, and there were errors every time it tried to run.
Now I installed WiFi Tether - TrevE Mod. Nothing really works, but if I launch with Fallback Tether Mode I see that as the said. However, it is short lived because I think part of it crashes and the ssid disappears. I did connect to it once, bit no routing again.
Seems the best I can do is connect with no routing, and I'm beginning to wonder if Sprint found a way to block this function if we haven't paid for it. I couldn't get it to work on my photon 4g either.
Is anybody able to tether for free on Sprint? I used to do it on my Evo 4g all the time. Wish I had one to test with.

[Q] Bluetooth Tethering support in CM11

All,
I'm running the beta cm11 on my YPG70 (US) so far this has been fantastic.
I have one feature not working that it seems has also been an issue for others.... Bluetooth tethering does not work.
I am able to get the device to connect to my main phone (a Moto X) with bluetooth tethering enabled on both AND it seems like the devices are able to change data across bluetooth, however, now Internet or WAN traffic gets to the YPG70.
I know there was a bug fix in an older version of Cyanogenmod to some networking routing table config files (I belive) so maybe this is related to that cropping up again.
I also found a post to check for /system/bin/pand which DOES NOT exist on this build from Jan 13.
Any ideas?

[Q] Tether / driver issue

I turned on the wired tether today on my rez running CM 11 unofficial vigor from Neo. I have never used the wired tether before, I thought I was turning on the wifi hotspot. Anywho, it works. The tether works. This is significant because since I reinstalled windows, I have not been able to communicate with the rez via usb from either windows or ubuntu. The drivers were wiped, and the HTC software will not recognize the device when it is plugged in. It suprises me that tether works. Am I alone in this?
I believe on kit kat you have to choose your computer connection as its disabled by default, try going to settings>storage and hit the menu button, should be able to pick your default connection from there.

tether has always worked in cm11
but for me to get it to work in windows 7 i have to go into the device manager and manually choose a different driver for it to work which would than disable storage access until i turned it back to the original driver. so in win7 it was a pain
as for ubuntu it was automatic tether which came in handy for me because i would need internet to sync rom sources ect..
but since my chipset/NIC is unsupported by linux (x58 mobo with Bigfoot Killer E2100 for NIC onboard)
i didn't have internet over LAN in ubuntu, but i was able to pass my WiFi or Lte connection through my phone temporarily until i got a usb wifi dongle just for ubuntu use
