[Q] battery issue? decrease of % when the phone is charging

Hello i've having a small problem with my battery of my xperia x10. i'm putting the phone for charging and instead of increasing the charging % is decrease it but i dont know why. sometimes i'm leaving the phone for charging all night and when i'm waking up i saw that my battery is not fully charged. is this a rom problem or battery problem?
btw i'm having lock bootloader, stock kernel and this custom rom Achotjan_Stock_Remplacement_And_Firmware Update
thanks a lot
It is normal....battery heats up and then starts draining, just unplug it for 5mins and then replug...now it will charge normally...and dont put your phone on charging whole night...that may decrease battery life...
Try it !!!
because nowadays batteries don't charge all the time! They're intelligent, so they charge up to 100%, stop charching, its going down till 92-94% and then recharging up to 100%, and then stop again..... so thats why even if you let you're phone charge for 10h you might end up with a 92% charged phone!

Bad usb cable? Or bad charger.
I have a usb cord that will charge my x10 but not Ion.
From market get 'current widget' app. With it you can read how much amps coming from charger. A usb charger should be about 400 ma, milli-amps or .4 amps.

Ok so that means the charger is working.
Did you notice the battery temp? compare the temps from before, during, and when it drops .
From 0% to 100% charge takes you how long? Should be 1-3 hours.
Leaning to bad battery as reason.

I have the same problem on x10 mini u20i.. I had in on stock, and now I have it on miniCM7-2.2.1.. I've been reading a bit, and I think it is a hardware issue..
My phone simply won't charge, if I plug it into a regular charger.. The phone will seem like it charges, but in reality the battery is draining (might even be draining faster than when is simply unplugged).
If I leave it charging through the night, the phone will be completely dead in the morning, and sometimes I have to leave the phone connected to my pc for hours, before it gains a little bit of juice and starts actually charging.
In fact the only way (I know of) to charge my phone, is to connect it to a pc with a USB cable, and even then I mostly have to connect the phone, disconnect it and the connect it again for the charging to initiate.
I read somewhere, that a guy was only able to charge his phone with the charger from the cigarette lighter in his car. He mentioned (from what I remember), that the cigarette lighter ran at 12V, but the normal cell phone chargers runs at 6V, and that causes problems for the x10 (mini). I have no idea if he is right though.. Does anybody know if this is a valid point or BS?
Anyway for a quick workaround, charge the phone from you PC

BS . 12 volts is the input volts for a car charger. All micro-USB chargers should run @ 5 volts and vary in amps. Your phone has smart charger built into kernel. The charger itself is just a power supply. Kernel controls the applied amps.

Yeah I kinda thought so.. I would think that it made no difference where the power came from, but my phone seems to disagree.. It simply does not charge, unless I plug the USB cable into a computer..
And it will only take seconds of googling to find out, that lots of people have this or similar problems..
Anyway, OP and others, the only answer I've found, is that the microUSB port easily gets dirty, and the right amount of wiggling with the cord or cleaning the microUSB port with a dry (!) toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner or air blower might help..

You'll probably need a new charger, but a generical USB charger is very, very cheap.
Before buying the new one, is useful testing your old device this way:
Please, try to charge your mobile using a computer. If you charge normally you've confirmed that your trouble is in the charger (since in that case your battery is OK and your USB cable and connectors are also OK).
But if you can't charge even in your computer, please do experiment another USB cable. If even so you can't charge, the culprit will be the battery or the USB connector (less probable).
I'm not sure if this is relevant but I had a simular issue like this but not all the time. Was a kernel issue, but before you jump into flashing a new kernel or rom, have you tried charging the phone after you've switched it off?

I had the same problem on my xperia x10 mini, when being charged it increases at first, after a few minutes the % decreases, What I did is I flashed a new kernel the nAa kernel for gingerbread and installed a custom rom, which is CM7 2.2, and voala!, I was surprised that its working again, I send the phone to sony ericsson support center and they said it had board damage, but what I think is that there was a proble on the kernel update to eclair or 2.1 that's why it happened, so just try flashing a new kernel using the flashtool, gud luck mate...

Install a 2.3 based rom mate this should remedy the problem
Requires unlock bootloader first if you have not done already

[Q] Battery Wtf

So i just played with Custom ROMs to find the best for me...
But from one point my Phone f*cked up the battery detecting...
CM9 and CM9 detect the battery at 45% and then he Level instantly just drop to 0%...
I cant even restart my phone, so i guess the battery really went out...
So how can i fix, that the ROM would not detect it 45% but 3-4% ?
And let me fully chage my phone ?
Stock rom Always Detect it 100% and then randonly the phone shut down in random times (cuz it drops the level to 0%)
I've tried the "Fully-Charge, Fully-Discharge" But the ROM still detect the Battery wrong...
Even tried to delete the battery stats...
Any solution, or idea ?
I currently use CM with the built-in CM9 kernel...
I think its battery problem.use a new battery.ur prblm will be solved

How old is the battery? What charging cable are you using and what is the cable plugged into?
If the battery is more then a year old it could be 'tired' and not holding a charge correctly (trying another known good battery in your phone will determine this, as will trying your battery in another phone, and if it works well you may have more issues to deal with). If you got the phone second hand, you have no way of knowing the battery's history. Repeated overcharging is also not recommended, as well as leaving the battery in very hot places as it can damage the onboard circuitry in the battery.
Cheap aftermarket (non OEM) USB cables are not that great imo, they are generally not as well made and soon get loose connections, resulting in poor connectivity (charging with a bad cable can also damage the battery). Always use the original cable or a good quality aftermarket one, like Belkin.
Charging the phone from a USB port on a PC or laptop (and/or via a USB hub) is not as efficient as charging it directly from a wall mains USB adapter, because the power often gets interrupted. Ideally for the best charge you should turn the phone off and use a wall/mains socket USB lead, so as give a direct, constant, power supply to charge a battery. A typical full charge is done in two hours. If you charge this way and the battery still has issues buy a new one.

First of all, the Phone is manufactured in 11W41 (2011 Week #41) and the battery in 11W39 (2011 Week #39)
I use a tipical Micro USB charger which does not connect to the wall with USB but the cable directly integrated into the adapter...
And the phone's shipped official cable to charge throught my PC...
The battery worked fine before i forgot to delete battery stats and flashed a ROM...
After that, all ROM is getting fake battery data...
After using my phone i noticed:
-When the phone displays 70-80% charge, the battery actually have 10-15%
-When the battery reach 0% the phone not just jumps to 0% but the Phone shut down within a half second (as no more energy)
-When i charge it to 3-4% the phone show 80% again...
-So i can charge it to about 10 or max 15% when the OS detect 100% and does not charge it further more, which prevent me from properly re-calibrate the battery stats, cuz 10-15 will be always the max charge of the battery...
Now i'm looking for some kind of Mod / App that fake the Battery level to the OS (for example lock it to 5% and the OS continue to charge the battery) i know its dangerious cuz if i'm not aware i'll overcharge it and it will die permanently, but i have no better idea ATM...
Update: Sometimes after my phone dies from no remaining electron in the battery It displays 5% charge when i switch it on while connected to a charger (the only way i can switch it on) And starts to increase.. (5-6-7-8 etc..)
But sometimes it instantly jumps up to 70-80% if i think right when the screen switches of..
So i enabled "No-screen-off-whili-on-charger" and letit charging..
Will notice you about the result...

try reflash stock.ics ftf should fix this
Already tried, the Stock rom always showed 100% charge, and when the battery ran out, just powered off...
(Jumped from 100 to 0 instantly)
As i mentioned, in the reply you quoted, today it started charging from 0...
It went good, but somewhy, it just stopped at 26% and not a single volt went into the Battery...
As i Pulled out the Cable, the indicator jumped to 100 instantly...
Can you link several stock ROMs ?
I've tried with the 4.0.4 Android
but maybe the 2.3 can still work with it...

[Q] Quick Charge

So guys i got few questions about it.
Lg v10 has quick charging feature so i wanna know that how that works.
its works always, and any % ? or there is a certain point for it to work. im asking this bcus today i had 10% battery left and i plugged in its original charger with original cable which supporting quick charge. it was charging normally till 32%. i realized that and i plugged off charger and plugged back again it was still normal charging . then i again plugged of and closed phone and plugged it back when phone was off. it otomatically started phone and i entered my pin code. boom it started to quick charge
sso can some 1 explain me that quick charge?
Also that hifi dac works with bluetooth earbuds? like hbs910 - hbs 1100 or samsung level u pro ?( sorry my bad english )
Hmm... I'm under the impression quick charge only works with the screen off. Could that have played a part in this?
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
My V10 also meets this issue. when your phone running out of battery at 0% lowest level, it is hard to activate the quick charger, i have to replug and unplug charger many times 10 times more to activate the charge process, the screen with phone and cable keep blinking and blinking...
But if your V10's battery still remain and you wanna charge, you just unplug and re-plug about 3 or 5 times, the quick-charge will activate. I have no idea if this relates to Software or Hardware issue.
SOLVED: my cable connecting my charger and phone is broken, change the cable, issue is solved!
Well I didn't think that I ll need quick charge since I was using z2 bcus I could have a full day no matter how much I use the phone. It was charging like in 3.5 hours. So I was charging it only when I go bed. But since v10's battery life isn't that good I realy need quick charge. I waited few months for bot buying first wave of v10 but still I bought first wave I guess. Let's hope it's software problem and get fixed soon

Well for me it works all the time. When i connect my original cable and charger i always get quick charge notification and it takes around 1 hour to fully charge the battery. I recommend though to leave the phone connected on charger for around 1 to 1.5 hour more if possible. This way the phone tops the battery charge fully getting additional around 200mA charge. You can install battery monitor widget from market and you will see that the phone continues to slowly charge after telling that battery is full. This stops when battery ot charged to the max.
0% to full takes 1 hour? that is rly nice since mine takes atleast 90 mins... even it says quick charging

I bought a m4 aqua today, but facing some problems

Well, today i bought m4 aqua, and i'm facing some charging problems
this didn't happen with my old smartphone Xperia miro.
1. tried to charge it when it was low on battery like 0% but it wasn't even charging i don't know why, had to plug USB to my PC to start charging it.
2. Takes too much time to charge? It currently says 8 hours until the maximum charge, what the hell? My old smartphone only took like 2-3 hours to get to the maximum
battery
3. Kinda disappointed when i was supposed to get 8GB internal storage, and i only have 1.7GB, i cleaned some stuff and now i have 2.3GB
My warranty gets void because of this?
Is there a way i can fix this?

Did you root the device in order to clean the apps you are talking about then you might have voided your warranty yes.
Also it heats a lot, with almost nothing opened.

Don't let your battery go under 20% limit since this dramatically shortens battery's life.
While charging, use Sony or Sony Ericsson branded Greenheart wall-charger. Not using Xperia device while charging will get you faster charging times.
It shouldn't take more than 3 hours while on idle. If Xperia device is turned off or in Ultra Stamina mode, charging will take about/less than 2 hours.
If it still says and happens charging in 7-8 hours, send your phone to the Services.

That seems like it isn't normal. I think that maybe wall charger is defected.
Smoke smell isn't OK. It shouldn't be burning or smelling. You should change your wall-charger.

About 90 minutes
Weird Mine takes 1hr 50m from 0 to 100%
Only 30 mins but lasts for 3 days of constant use afterwards.
I'm also surprised by these different delay...
I'm not using a quick charger and I'm able to charge my P9000 phone in 2h00/2h15.
I was waiting for a 30/45 min complete charge from 0% to 100% with a Pump Express + Charger.
I tried my phone on 2 Pump Express (not +) charger with a probe linked on the USB power lines and an Oscilloscope and it never change the power supply voltage....
It always stay at 5V.
I was thinking the phone will manage the voltage to accelerate the charging process, but nothing happened.
So, to have a complete view of the problem, I've ordered an original Elephone Quick Charger, and I'll check if there's any change about this subject.
But from my point of view, the Pump Express System is not working at all on the P9000 with the Aerom V4 or Stock ROM 20160608.
If other people have the same issue, please share it here to identify if it's a general bug or limited to some devices only.
20160608 kernel hace messed up fast charging. To me in aerom3 it takes about 70 mins from 0 to 100%
Fast charging still slow
I havent charged from 0% but based on charging times so far I reckon 1.5hrs would definitely get to 100%.
I use an Anker faster charger and Anker usb cable.
Last phone got fried with Elephone cable.
