That's totally upto you.
There's a fair chance that some root un-related error might pop up and you can't claim your warranty.
So if you can live with the risk, go for it.
Else wait for at least a few months.

Don't root bro. Not now. Wait. I know it is hard but believe me most of rooted moto e mobiles have frequent restart problem. Just enjoy it as it is.(lorax:"you've been warned)

You don't need to update the app. It will not root or update your phone without asking, if you do download it.

To root your device, you need to unlock bootloader first.
To unlock bootloader, you need a code from motorola.
That means, irrespective of what you do with your device after unlocking, you'll be out of warranty coverage.
Does not matter if you relock and unroot.

G wasn't released with 3.4 kernel. All root exploits are patched. You need to unlock your bootloader if you want root.

If u root MOTO E your warranty voids as simple as that...Dint heard any one rooting using mobogenie .May be u can try and let us al know abt it
yeah...i tried on moto g. simply google it and download the software "mobogenie"onto your computer.
go into my phone section.
it will ask you to connect your phone using usb. will download some drivers.
click on "one click root". will again download some files and you're good to go. haven't clocked or done anything.i only verified by a root checker app on play store.it said you have root access. after rooting the app showed "one click unroot button".

rooting moto e is possible only unlocking bootloader, to do so is required an unlock code from motorola, when you ask for the code the warranty is void. no way to restore, because even if you unroot it they know you have request the code to unlock bootloader and they say that in the page where you need to go to request the unlocking code.
EDIT: this is moto e, not moto g... so if it works for moto g doesn't mean it works for moto e

Rooting your Phone in the EU doesn't void its warranty, unlocking the bootloader doesn't either.
a recent ruling sated that if there is a hardware failure on the phone they (the retailer) has to prove that the failure is the result of you rooting the phone.

Depends how you update. Just don't update with ota or pc companion.
1 Downgrade to 4.4.2
2 Root phone
3 Install recovery for locked bootloader
4 Flash rooted 4.4.4 zip in recovery
5 latest firmware and root remains
I am new to Sony devices (been a Samsung guy for years). I have had my Z2 less than a fortnight but already I'm itching to root it etc, problem is it seems a lot more complicated than Samsung devices. I was always switching between roms on my S4/note 2. I am on the latest firmware and would like to root it to be able to use xposed but I'm scared of messing it up and as the phone is under warranty don't want to end up with a paper weight.
Has anyone done a detailed tutorial for newbies like myself?
Thanks in advance
Scotty.

It's not really that hard and there are also of resources online that can guide you.
1 Downgrade to 4.4.2 is required as noone had found a vulnerability with 4.4.4.
2 Root phone
For step 1 and 2, Have a look at this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-root-the-sony-xperia-z2-xda-developer-tv/
3 install recovery for lock bootloader
Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785598
4 install a 4.4.4 zip through recovery. I recommend this one as its basically stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/stock-4-4-4-23-0-1-0-167-bug-free-t2929402

You can try Kingroot or Root Genius.
There should be some efforts made towards developing a rom for this phone. Quite a long time, quite a decent phone for low budget users.
want lollipop to y541-u02
I want custom recovery for y541-uo2

This is the correct process of rooting the your Huawei Y541-U02
1) Go tho Phone Settings.
2) Under Phone Settings go to Security option.
3) Under "Security" option unchecked the following Unknown Sources and Verify Apps.
4) Install the Rooting app. In my phone i used Kingroot app to root my phone. any rooting apps will do, not just kingroot..
5) Start the rooting app and start the rooting process.
6) Phone will be successfully rooted.
Note: Verify Apps option under security will deny the owner of the phone to install rooting apps...
Enjoy the benefits with rooted phone.....

I just unlocked and rooted my second one for my wife today, with no troubles. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-moto-e-2015-t3045748
It should work fine. If it doesn't, you must have done something wrong.
