Hi,
I've tried to su a logicom 10 inch tab model S1024
Android 4.1.1
kernel 3.4.0+ [email protected]#231
build full_gs702a-userdebug4.1.1 JRO03C eng.popchip_dlf.20130801.162447 test-keys
I'm on ubuntu 12.04
I managed to get it recognized by adb
adb devices --> 02468AC
first adb shell --> $
then adb root --> #
So I can install some apk, mv files, chmod but when I su from the tablet I'm no root :=(
I tried framaroot and Supersu installed from the tablet or installed from adb --> same result = no root
I tried : Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v36.zip I found on xdavevelopers
I tried using number 3 (= normal) and with RunMe.sh modified to my /usr/bin/adb but the result was still no su.
I would like to try a linux dist on it with linux deploy but I need root access.
Could someone tell me how I can get root adb shell but no su ?
Oh and I tried to mount -o remount,rw without any success too
Hope to find some help because I'm stuck on this for a while now and I don't find the way to the light.

Get superuser whitelist. I pulled mine off a rooted Galaxy Tab:
Code:
linux$ adb pull /system/app/Superuser.apk
linux$ adb pull /system/bin/su
From a machine with ADB working, and communicating with your Nook:
Install Superuser.apk, and copy the su binary to /data/local:
Code:
linux$ adb install Superuser.apk
linux$ adb push su /data/local/
Shell into the Nook, remount the system partition read/write, and install the su utility to /system/bin:
Code:
linux$ adb shell
# cd /system/bin
# mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /system
# cat /data/local/su > su
# chmod 6755 su
# ls -l su
-rwsr-sr-x root root 26264 2010-12-01 10:27 su
#
reboot Nook Color to get Superuser to show up in "extras." Now, you can get root from inside the Better Terminal Emulator Pro shell.
Thanks for the info. Just a quick note that on Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 (Nexus One), the su binary is actualy at /system/xbin/su rather than /system/bin/su

Thank you, very useful instruction!
Couple of questions though:
1. Any public repo where the working in NC Superuser.apk could be downloaded from? Not everyone out of NC owners owns Galaxy Tab.
2. More elaboration on "whitelist", please
3. If possible, show some example why someone might need this. I'd rather try to edit build.prop: pixel density, whatever, plus changing stock system Droid Sans into, say, much more beautifil Segoe WP. But it's just me though.
Thank you

For #3, somebody may want to replace system fonts to support other languages than English. I have done that to Android 2.1 phones too.

So I installed this version of the Superuser apk but it seems to be an old version (2.0.3) with the ninja icon.
The latest version is 2.3.6.1 but I can't seem to get it to install (INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE).
Which is the latest version of Superuser apk that works with nC that has the 'Android Skull and Crossbones' icon and does anyone have the apk?

Could you pull and post your Superuser apk and your /system/bin/su file? I don't have a nexus one and when I tried using the Superuser apk and su file from the cyanogen 6.0 Nexus ROM it didn't seem to work either
EDIT:
Nevermind I got it working using the files attached (latest version 2.3.6.1)
(from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828)
I also noticed that it had to grant itself Superuser permissions when I hit the "settings" tab. Under the settings tab I also noticed my 'su' version was 'original' and there was an update available which changed it to version '2.3.1-ef'. Not sure if this needs to be done for it to work right or not but thought I should mention it.
Will this work on just linux or windows?
You can do it on windows using ADB

Is there a Windows tutorial for how to install Super User on the NC or an apk that does the same thing?
Is there any advantage to put the binary into xbin versus bin

Hello again,
Here are some more information about the tablet
Android 4.0.3
Kernel 2.6.39.4

Updating via an external memory card (micro SD card)
Download and copy the system update package onto an external memory card (micro SD card).
Slide the memory card (micro SD card) into your Tablet PC.
Switch your Tablet PC off by one long press of the ON/OFF switch and confirm the question on the shut down with OK.
Switch your Tablet PC on again.
When you see the Android logo on the screen, press the ON/OFF switch and the volume button (increase volume) and keep them pressed for 2 seconds and then release them.
⇒ After a few seconds you reach the Recovery menu.

I am also considering buying this tablet. Therefor a root manual would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
OK. I think no one has done the root on this tabet.
Maybe somone could give me a hint what i can try to root this tablet?
I`m ready to try some some procedures
maybe a standart procedure is available for android 4?
Or is the rooting of each device different?
What happens if i try a wrong procedure? I think a recovery of the os should always be possible or not?
Maybe someone could answer some questions

I have the same tablet. Have you already tried to root it?
Is there any guide available in the meantime?
Hi,
I also have the M532, it is really great.
Any advise how to root it would be appreciated.
Thanks for any hint.

I have no fujitsu tablet, but the same model Pegatron Chagall. (exactly the same)
this set you can upgrade my Fujitsu tablet?
Rom which includes applications?
I don't think so.
Look at the detailed update procedure from Fujitsu and you will see that the update process is checking the model and version information and refuses to install if they do not match.
You're right, the update package does not work on my tablet (Síragon 4N) ... it's a shame.
However, if there is a method to be root, so if you serve ...
Even this recent tablet market, hopefully get into the right hands and can unlock.
Hey, has anyone managed to root the M532?
Is there anyone I could send my M532 to to have it rooted?

Could someone download the boot.img and recovery.img from this tablet? We need those files in order to modify the following values in the default.prop file
filero.secure=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.service.adb.enable=1
Repack the images and flash it using fastboot to get a privileged shell.
After doing that you will be able to root this table using "unlockroot" software

All you can find is a .pkg file which you need for an upgrade.
How to download boot and recovery
I would be glad to, but how do I find them and get them copied to get to you?

Install the "superuser" from the market ... and remove the line copy the superuser, and run the whole script.
It was no root ...
I returned to run the scritp of bin4ry, V10 ... and did you root the tablet seems.
(standard option)
Check and reset the tablet, and was even root ..., delete all tablet for recovery to start once again ... and continued to root ...
But, try to certify and document the process for publishing ... and V10 bin4ry script, we apply "unroot"
Now I could not repeat the process, and I could not do root again ...
... but I notice that in the folder / system, I find the SU ...
If someone wants to try, because only must be sure that you can restart the tablet completely ... so that applications may have the lost ...
I managed to root, unroot after applying ...
I root Bin4ry the script, and then with the same script I unroot (Here)

These errors are not connected in "ADB mode" to your pc
Brother, first try to install the driver of google android sdk, and not those of Fujitsu tablet (if you have one installed, it is best to uninstall and reboot the PC)
Then do a factory reset of the tablet, marking the option to delete all.
*- Active in Developer options, USB debugging, stay active and allow test location. Also active in security, unknown sources.
*- Connect the tablet (verifies that Windows recognizes it as "Android ADB Interface")
*- Run the script WkPark friend, follow the instructions and after two reboots, you will have root access to the tablet.
Performs a shutdown and start at the end and if you can run a new factory restore. Install "Root Check" of the market
*- If you do not succeed, try the same steps but running the script Bin4ry friend, and using the "Special" ... you follow the steps indicated.
Always remember to run a shutdown and startup at the end of each script ...
If you have problems with applications that are lost, do not pay much attention as you can re-run a factory reset or restore the tablet for recovery, for it ready.
I can certify that the script works Bin4ry and also the WkPark
(I have a tablet exactly like yours ... Pegatron / Chagall / Síragon 4N)

Rooting China phones in windows and linux
Try one of these:
1. Using linux {Recommended}Install Ubuntu or DebianEither
Install the android-sdk.
dl.google●com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86-20130717.zip <==x86
dl.google●com/android/adt/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20130717.zip <==x86_64
or
Just get the standalone adb and fastboot executables
texasice-cream-sandwich-mirror.googlecode●com/files/adb_fastboot.zipInstall ia32-libsRun this in a terminal
Code:
sudo apt-get install libc6-i386 lib32stdc++6 lib32gcc1 lib32ncurses5
Now download the files required for root and put it in the same folder as adbmir●cr/GDEPZT4VAfter you finish installing the files,
Connect your device with debugging mode enabled
Run
Code:
cd path/to/adb
where "path/to/adb" is the directory of your adb file
Now run
Code:
sudo chmod a+x adb
sudo chmod a+x fastboot
>>Root
Code:
./adb devices
./adb push busybox /data/local/tmp/
./adb push su /data/local/tmp
./adb push Superuser.apk /data/local/tmp
./adb shell
Chmod and run the exploit under adb shell
Code:
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 psneuter
./psneuter
Now re-engage an adb shell to check if the exploit worked.
Code:
./adb kill-server
./adb devices
./adb shell
If you see a # sign, the exploit was was successful. Otherwise repeat from >>Root
Now run these on the same adb shell
Code:
cd /data/local/tmp
./busybox ash
mount -o remount,rw /system
mv /data/local/tmp/su /system/xbin/su
chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
mv /data/local/tmp/Superuser.apk /system/app/Superuser.apk
chmod 777 /system/app/Superuser.apk
cp /data/local/tmp/busybox /system/xbin/busybox
chmod 6755 /system/xbin/busybox
Now reboot your device and open up SuperSU. Let it update the binary.
Your device should be rooted. 2. Use Windows + MoboroboMethod 1 {Recommended but hard}
Download Moborobo from
Code:
moborobo●com
This software can Install drivers for many china phones and other branded phones.
After installing Moborobo download the files required for root
Code:
mir●cr/GDEPZT4V
Extract the files to the installation directory of Moborobo.
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Moborobo
Run a CMD window under that directory and type
Code:
xcopy AndroidInterface.exe abd.exe
Connect your device in debugging mode & Open up Moborobo, It will install the drivers.
Keep Moborobo open & Follow the instructions mentioned in >>Root
P.S- the linux commands begin with a "./" remove this in windows or else it won't work. Note: Wherever I mentioned a terminal, the windows equivalent to this would be cmdMethod 2 {Easier}
Download and Install Moborobo just like above and run this under a cmd on that folder
Code:
xcopy AndroidInterface.exe
Also download UnlockRoot or SuperOneClick
To make sure the adb files are same, Copy over
Code:
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
to UnlockRoot's tools directory or SOC's ADB directory
Connect your device in debugging mode and open up moborobo.
Now keep Moborobo open and Run UnlockRoot or SOC. Good Luck :good:

Press thanks if I helped you.
Nice tutorial you have posted Smo0thK. Please also comment on the following points.
1) Which tablets have you tried the above methods to get root access. Since most of the tablets in Indian market are from China, same would be the situation in Bangladesh and similar techniques can be used. Please list their Brand and model numbers.
2) I personally use a Penta IS701c which actually is pre-rooted from factory but the su command does not work because configuration is messed up. (# prompt in ADB shell indicates root access) Many of these Chinese tablets come pre-rooted from factory but to get su command working things have to be cleaned up. What is your experience about this.
3) Android 3.1+ devices must support USB Host mode but most of the tablets are lacking support. (Use USB Host Diagnostics app to find out).
Have you found any tablet that supports USB Host mode without a custom kernel.
Best Regards,
Vineet Kumar
I got Dell Venue 8 3840 and root it with this procedure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/development/guide-how-to-root-android-4-4-4-dell-t2918427). Everything is fine and no any error.
So I can access Fast Boot mode and ADB Mode. I download some app to check root status and it said there is not root, no su library. Then I follow this steps
1. Download "Superuser-3.2-RC3-x86-signed".
2. Run commands :
adb remount
adb push su /system/bin
adb push su /system/xbin
adb shell chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
adb shell chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
adb install Superuser.apk
3. Reboot and Install supersu
4. Supersu promt to update su library and show error that "fail to update and still no root"
Can anyone tell me how to put su library into Dell Venue 8 3840 and root it ? Thank you very much.
PS. Sorry for my bad english.
Did you get this resolved
I am at this step (Rooted but need to push SU binaries) and was doing research before proceeding, I was wondering if you have found a solution to your issue here.
Mike
Sorry I have no solution yet
You would want to download the latest super user, extract the su from it, push su, then set correct permissions, 6755 not 4755.

Hi all! I have a Chinese tablet that I need to root in order to run some applications. It mounts a 4.4.2 Android version and I can access via adb by opening an adb root shell. The table is called letine lt707a .
This is what I did:
Code:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw /system
adb push su /system/xbin
adb shell busybox chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
Then I installed a version of Superuser.apk. When I open a terminal emulator app from the device, if I write "su" I obtain a "Permission denied" message.
Where is the problem? Maybe I have an old binary su?
I also tried with SuperSU without any results.
Thank you for your help!
I have just to push the correct su in the folder, but I don't know where to find it. After that in case of error I must undersand how Superuser communicates with the su. Anyone?
I think the problem is with kit kat. I pushed the su binary that came from superSU, but when I open a terminal emulator to write su I obtain a number zero as output.
If I start superSU I obtain a warning message: the program doesn't find the su binary.
