Have you dropped your phone at all? Are you rooted, on a custom ROM? If not, might be the accelorometer?
I havent dropped my phone at all, I'm very careful.
I am rooted.
The only thing I did that I realized it was broken, was I installed Widget Locker - then noticed it wasnt rotating.
Is there any way I can reinstall a file or fix something somehow?
Also, it rotates when I play games (Mass Infiltration for ex) or any game that needs to be played sideways.
I also updated from SuperSU 0.94 to 0.95 - and since then I reverted back to .94.
It's not a -huge- deal, but I'd really like to know why all of a sudden it stops working on me. I've only had this phone for a month. Any app to check my accelerometer?
Stock rom, kernel stock. Argh!
I downloaded an app called "Accelerometer Checker" and followed the on-screen instructions (with pics of how to place your phone on the table)
Can someone do it so I can compare results? Here's mine:
HTC EVO (jewel) F: 49.85Hz AX1: + 17.37 0.055 - 17.40 0.049 AX2: + 11.13 0.068 - 22.03 0.053 AX3: + 9.697 0.109 - 22.60 0.044
Thanks in advance, I really wanna fix this crap

Yeah my phones junk.
I just tried to play Asphalt 7, and it just turns all over the place on its own.
Is there a way to re-calibrate the accelerometer? I don't have insurance. This is a huge pain in the arse.
I need someone who had this happen to them to give me advice on what to do.
Man this sucks. I'm about to just get (ugh, can't believe I'm saying this) a SG3... (sad face) - zmag
(FIXED) i think
HTC EVO (jewel) F: 38.56Hz AX1: + 9.744 0.043 - 9.778 0.046 AX2: + 9.671 0.044 - 9.918 0.064 AX3: + 9.581 0.046 - 9.849 0.047
---
Thx to HTC's site, they said to do the G-Sensor calibration (Settings - Phone - Display & gestures - G-Sensor calibration)
Did that, and tried Asphalt 7 again and its not all crazy now.
Just posting all this in case anyone ever freaks out like I did over this. (Still don't know what initially caused the problem, but as long as it's back to normal I don't care!) I'm happy! - zmag

Hi guys,
Since I've got my SIII (4 days lol) I wonder what app uses a strange icon looking like an eye, just besides vibration mode one, and that comes from time to time, sometimes every 5 secondes, sometimes more spaced...
If anyone knows thanks inadvance !

Its "smart stay".
It will keep your phone's screen on for the time you are looking at it.
You can disable it by Settings->Display->Smart Stay (uncheck)

It is the smart stay icon, you have told it to stay on when you are looking at the screen, this shows when it is checking if you are looking at the screen. The time between checks depends on your display timeout setting.
I installed DoubleTapToSleep on my Galaxy Note 2 but when I DoubleTap on the notification bar, the World Clock shows up but the phone doesn't sleep.
Has anyone run into this before and if so, what can I do to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.

I'm surprised that nobody has had this happen to them or at least has an idea of what might be causing this issue. Anybody? Please???
Failing that, does anybody know how I can get in contact with the developer of DoubleTapToSleep?
Thanks.

Hi guys,
In desperately looking for an app or mod that does what's in the subject.
I'd like to have my s3 screen on when i remove it from my pocket but ONLY if notifications are present.
This is a feature that some custom ROMs have (e.g. C-rom) but i wonder if i can get the same behaviour on my stock rooted s3.
I know that apps like "gravity screen" do something similar but in don't think they can turn on only inc ase of pending notifications.
Thank you for any advice.

Flashed skydragon v3.0.1 the other day to my vs985. Today this circle with the slashthrough it [see img attached] showed up in my notifications bar. It doesn't seem to have an effect on performance or anything but I would like to be able to get rid of it. Does anyone know of a solution of had this problem before? Also, first time rooted here so if you do know how to fix it I would greatly appreciate an "explanation for dummies".
Many thanks!
That means Priorty mode is on. Turn it off or configure it differently to fix it.
