Yet Lolipop has now begun to roll our for the Galaxy S5.
I'm so frustrated that this great device seems to be getting forgot about.

I'm the Co-Founder of SamMobile and I think you need to take a chill pill. This device isn't forgotten. There is a time frame for updates. First S5 than N4 than last years flagships than Alpha and the rest. So relax it will come when its finished ...
What happens when you buy a non-flagship from a manufacturer whos satured the market by flooding devices.
Your going to be in for a LONG wait my friend.
Alpha works very well now...lolipop will be a bounus...who cares if it is in december or january?

I also have the galaxy S2 skyrocket and am running lollipop. The really is that Cyanogenmod or Paranoid haven't started on this phone yet, just not a priority yet I guess. I definitely want it to be because I love the size! Finally a phone that isn't extremely oversized.
Any news on that? Even Galaxy S4 has got the update already!!!

Because people are asking ETAs which aren't allowed and also it's Verizon which is known for getting updates last every time (G-Nex still doesn't have 4.1? i think, GS3 just got 4.1) and many other phones that updates are still not out.

I went through the whole Galaxy Nexus experience with Verizon. Took me 3 months to realize we would never get timely updates from them, so went custom and from then on always had the latest releases within a couple of days of Google releasing them.
This phone (Note 2) will never get timely updates from Verizon either - too much alteration and long test process. If you want the latest as soon as you can then a custom ROM is the closest you'll get.
You won't be seeing OS updates as quick from zip rom devs either.
I get that Verizon slows down Galaxy Nexus updates, but they are by far the most frequent and quickest of all Verizon devices.

- I've read there might be issues with the n7100's stock 4.4 ROM anyway.
It's a shame the N7105 (the better version) doesn't get half as much attention as the 3G only version..
How long did it take 4.3 to come to it after it was released on the N7100?
Unfortunately the market of the n7100 is a lot more wider.

doesn't matter. the way i see it, with DN3, this is a totally new phone. If i had not flashed to dn3, i'd be stuck with crappy note 2 4.3 official software.
the 4.4 for n7100 also has a few bugs, i hope when devs release for n7105, the software would be much more stable....and maybe even port s5 goodies into it!
for now, i am definitely happy with my note 2.

yeah thats the thing, if your not into mods roms / xda you would still be sitting on 4.1.2 or if you got a ota 4.2. ( 4.3 if your carrier has finished with it or sammobile for the odin version) only from some XDA patrons did we even get an unnoficial 4.3, its so stupid. you would think. top of the line device. still on ICS is a joke. while its counterparts the 3 rocks 4.4

rom always better with 7105, might be 7100 release and dubugging for 7105 , sad
I went with Samsung for the quick updates, back when 1 year was quick. Now all their competitors are faster.
I'll go with Nexus next time and forget about these worries.

In a leaked report from Samsung India showing various mobile due for KitKit goodness. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is listed in the report that it should get the Android 4.4.2 update this month (July). The leak also shows that the Galaxy S III international LTE version is not going to get the Android 4.4.2 update which is very disappointing.
This update will bring tunnel audio, a translucent style interface and immersion mode to the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. The fact that these updates are still rolling out on 8 month old phones is great news for owners. We all know it for last 3 months, anything new!!! RIP Samsung in hell.... Now I will never recommend anyone to buy Samsung devices. Neither they release device tree for developers to build custom rom nor official kitkat.

Skipping 4.4 would not be entirely unprecedented (Note II skipped an iteration of Android, either 4.2 or 4.3). However, I doubt a company that clearly does not have their US ducks in a row, so much so that they can't tell you if or when their new flagship will even be sold here, will be putting Lollipop on our AM2 anytime soon.
I don't know why you would say that? I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with Huawei and I'm running 3 Mate2s at my company and all unlocked and Rooted. Communication with [email protected] has always gave me prompt bootloader unlock codes and I would not be surprised to see this phone get L. It's the only phone they have out with LTE in America and will be forced to update to stay in the game. However right now the phone works and looks great and for $300 you can't get a better phone

Won't matter to me if it never gets an update. My last phone, a Note1, was stuck at 4.1.2 for almost 18 months, and it didn't bother me one bit. It was STABLE.
My Mate2, same setup. It's STABLE that is what I'm after, be it JB, KK or Lollipop.
I got excited and asked them about it, but they might know me by now haha.

You know I've actually been thinking about this ever since they posted that picture a month ago that showed the Android 'L' style navigation buttons.... I have been secretly wondering all this time if they were planning on skipping KitKat altogether in favor of one big upgrade to Android 5.0 (what we now know is called Lollipop). This pretty much tracks with that.... oooh how I'd love to be right on this one!

Confirmed that we'll possibly get some development progress on custom/aosp or even lollipop ports to our device. We currently gained official support for TWRP. That's a big step.

second number is diffrent 1 is 5.0/2 is 5.1 and 3 is 6.0.1 possibly or 6.0

We have always rooted apps like Link2SD which take the place of adoptable storage. As long as it comes out within this month on my phone I will be extremly happy.

My phone's away for repair right now. Dunno how long that will take. Can't wait to finally have marshmallow! Hopefully adaptive storage will be a thing. Sure it's slower but of you use it for large apps such as Facebook that don't need to be that fast, could work well, also making much more worth while for owners, if they want to keep users, and they can obviously see the demand and questions about if it would be included, it would be stupid not to, especially if they want to keep customers
