There are all kinds of reports on the internets about the moto e having faulty sound.. and I'm experiencing that.. I got it back once but it went back out again

I've just got a quick question to see if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone's got any suggestions on what to try.
I've recently noticed bad sound quality on my Hero's ear piece. When people talk it sounds somewhat distorted. Everyone says they can hear me fine, but when they talk it sounds off to me. I've been playing with Villian Rom since's he's been releasing it, but I don't think it's a rom issue because I've gone back to an earlier ROM and same thing. I've also tried the radio before the current one to see and still the same thing. Any suggestions? maybe try and even earlier radio? or could that damage my phone in any way.

Ever since flashing to the new community rom v1.1 when talking on the phone I am getting a strange feedback/reverb through my earpiece when talking on the phone. Just wanting to know if anybody is having any similar issue or help on how to fix the problem.
I am getting a strange problem with audio.
I am on Mik's 6.5.7 and Franco's v19.1,everything was working fine now suddenly there is no audio from my phone,none whatsover, while calls,music player,rings etc.
I even tried headphones they didn't work either
Now I am back on Stock Froyo 2.2,I believe this is hardware,has anyone experienced this issue before?
Any other suggestions?

And on stock ROM, does your sound work? It could be HW problem. But, have you been doing something unusual with your phone in thath "suddenly" time?
No on stock too it doesn't,there was one occasion though on stock to everything came back to life now again no audio(moved to Stock so I can take it too Service Centre)
If you try to take it to Repair-centre, you have nothing to lose. Thats worth of trying.
Thanks will do this and report what exactly is the problem,though audio is working again strangely,now I am sure it is h/w related

Just went to Service Centre,they changed whole speaker set,but again no audio.
So finally he just said motherboard gone bad and will have to be replaced and said will take 2-3 days.
Does anyone think it really was the motherboard as everything else worked fine and audio came and went?
Also what can actually be reason for this(some water entered through speaker grill(it never did as per me but maybe some sweat or in rain a drop possiblity) or due to overclocking speaker went bad or due to extremely loud audio in mik's CM7 during call)
I will like to take advice from someone who might have experienced this or know something on hardware, so I don't repeat the same act.
I would now be damn scared to try custom ROM,but really the stock feels lousy in front of CM's,so please advice.
Phone Repaired
Well service centre replaced motherboard and sound is back permanently.
Though they didn't know what the problem was,anyone can guess real reason for that.
Now I am damn scared to try CM 7.1 again as it had loud volume could that have been the cause?

Ok, i'm sure i'm not the only one having this issue. I'm stock and currently on the latest OTA and for some reason my phone likes to reset itself to max volume. I can almost always reproduce it with having headphones plugged in, playing a a song and when i open my dialer, it goes max volume. Its a persistent issue and i was wondering if anyone has had these similar issues and or possible knows of a fix? if its a known bug, then i guess i'll have to find a work around till another update is released . At the moment, i'm using Audio Manager to keep the volumes from changing again. I tried to recreate the issue again with the above process and it sounded like it was about to jump up then came back down so its working for now...just wish it worked properly is all. Anyone with this happening to them too?
Update: Ok, so i'm noticing when i start to have issues...i have my headphones plugged in and the beats app shows a notification...but beats is off when i check settings... possibility?
Update 2: Turning off beats and trying to recreate the issue no longer happens. guess its beats after all. guess i'll run without it for now. if its just me having issues and not anyone else, i'd appreciate hearing it from you guys to know what my next step should be thanks again guys!
Update 3: Damn it...went in with high hopes....still went to max volume when i went into the dialer....just didnt make my ears bleed since beats was off... i'm out of ideas...i wait for your responses....
Update 4: So i have not been able to stop looking for information and i found some other posts that helped. Alot of people were having issues with Tango. No problems now after uninstall! Hope this helps anyone that was having issues. Sorry if this was annoying >.< Now i know... (if it helped you, at least some good came out of it)
I've had the same issue on both mine and my wife's DNAs. We haven't used headphones with them though, so I don't think that's the problem. I have searched all over the net for tips and this is the first one that seems to work. Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same problem... Know what you mean about making your ears bleed. I use beats by Dre ear buds. Happened on my first DNA more frequently. I had it replaced after it was stolen. Didn't happen on the new one for weeks, thought I was in the clear. Will try uninstalling tango...
I would believe the idea about Tango. I used to have this problem all the time. I don't have Tango now and I haven't had the problem in a long time. Never knew or thought about Tango being the culprit. Thanks I will never go back and download it now.
Hello all experts here...recently i have bought moto e in india..its a good set except the camera...here one thing i noticed that it lags a lot when i use it while charging. I charge it only with the charger provided with it. But it does not lag when i charge it through usb plugged into pc... I also contacted to the motorola guys using chat app in the phone they said that i should try with other chargers....so i want to know that is it happens only with my set or anyone else's. Is it dangeous....please suggest me something...i m new to the android...previously had nokia 603.

Strange this is something out of league.as ur mobile is new try contacting Flipkart guys and have it replaced. And have a new set.
Happens always when my e is connected to a usb. And in my sense this issue has occured after rooting and installing cm.
Thanks to all of you for replying... Actually neither my phone is rooted nor unlocked. It is same as new... I think it is normal.. Again thanks to you all for suggestions..
