Saw Backup TA v9.11 for Windows but I don't use windows nor can I download anything from Github from their page. How needed is this? Is there any way else of backing up these files if they are that important?

If you ever need to get a Xperia serviced under warranty then you will probably want to restore the TA, or if you want to ever use Sony's DRM locked apps
So how do I back up the TA partion in an unrooted phone? Also none of the root tools work in linux.

You cant back it up on an unrooted phone
[NUT]'s dual recovery has a linux installer I think, and that has the towelroot/easyroot method built in I think

Hi is is safe to flash stock roms with odin.
can the imei be erased flashing a stock roms?
if so, how can i prevent it?
back up efs with k tools or one of the other backup tools before doing anything, then copy backup to computer/dropbox/flash drive....as many places as you can!
Odin much safer than kies, straight forward to use, just make sure you know what you are doing before proceeding
Odin is the best! Go ahead, you will have no problems if you know how to flash correct.
Be sure to backup efs in first place.
It is better to be safe than sorry.
Is there any way to copy EFS folder without root? from pc or something?
i want to stay stock.
As far as I know, there isn't. You have to root and then use something like EFS backup pro for efs folder backup.

You need root access to backup the efs folder.
Is it possible to backup EFS without root. I am going to root my phone but first I want to backup my EFS folder just in case of any problems.
thanks

hmmmm, not that i'm aware of (please anyone else, correct me if i'm wrong) but i can't see you running in to many problems which could effect your efs if you're not rooted. AFAIK it only gets corrupt, via flashing roms and etc, which requires root access (again, someone correct me if i'm wrong)
yes, you can flash a recovery and back it up using that

Your question

Glebun's reply
yes, you can flash a recovery and back it up using that.
recovery does not affect root. I recommend using TWRP or Philz as they have built-in EFS backup capabilities

I would suggest you that first root ur phone wit the samsung galaxy s3 toolkit.
This toolkit alsoo has a option to backup the efs folder at the same time.. .
Or otherwise root and download hellcats efs backup app from play store and then u have a efs back up in seconds..

It's possible to back it up, but you can't restore it - So there's no point. And why don't you want to root your phone?
Download ADB and open CMD type the following into the command window
Code:
cd <Path-to-ADB>
adb start-server
adb devices # To make sure the ADB can "see" your device
adb pull /efs %UserProfile%\.Android\Efs_Backup\Efs<Type a number or something>
# Backup is complete - You could zip the folder up or something...
adb kill-server
Hope I could help!

I think it is possible. Haven't tried it before and my phone is already rooted. Try and let us know if it is possible.
Install ES File Explorer and enable 'Up to Root' under Preferences. Now you should be able to navigate till the Root folders. Copy the EFS folder to the External SD card.

You can't have that sort of problem with rooting. Rooting is just pushing an apk and a binary in /system partition. And efs is located on a different partition...
Use the toolkit mentioned above very convenient and you can backup it on your computer.
Iv looked everywhere on a way to restore my backed up RAW TA with flashtool but cant find anything
To be clear , I have backed up DRM keys via flashtool, so I have no choice but to restore with flashtool, I cant make another backup bootloader Unlocked
1.I made a RAW back up of my TA xperia z ultra, I dont know where flashtool keeps the backup or what its called
2. How do i connect my phone if i want to restore? does it need to be in fastboot, or flashmoder?
3.If i just connect it normaly with usb debugging on, click restore from advanced setting, all it does is say install busy box, once i do that
it just crashes after that.
You need to make back up using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598.
There is no need for flashtool for backing TA.
For restoring TA there is backup folder created (after backing TA) inside original TA app directory . Click on that folder inside there will be zip which you need to restore using TA app.

I already have a backup which has my DRM keys made on flashtool that is the only back i can restore. because my bootloader is no unlocked, there is no Zip file in flashtool directory
this is the third thread that you have asked this question in I'm getting dizzy
It looks like it is saved int a folder in /flashtool/custom
I'm sure you could have found out that if you had of looked hard enough instead of making me look for you...
In my flastool i have found 1 option to flash it says X10 v1 BLRELOCK is this my xperia z ultra TA backup? just want to be sure if this is how bakups are automatically named.
edit:ahh nope i dont think thats it, under custom\ta\ folder is empty
yep sorry about making another thread.

I'm not at a PC at the moment but the path was like I said. The path is time stamped as well
I have managed to root my Tablet Z3C (downgraded to official 4.4 ROM using Flashtool, rooted using Kingroot, and loaded DualRecovery from PC using ADB interface)..
I am about to flash a 5.11 ROM, but at some point I also want to backup my DRM keys (my bootloader is unlockable, but I dont' really need to now).
Is it as simple as just backing up the Trim Area partition using TWRP?
I have searched for a thread, but never found anything that says this. Is TA == TRIM AREA == DRM Keys?
The more secure way is to backup it via TA Backup tool for Windows. It's safe and easy to restore.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
You know, unlocking bootloader wipes internal storage and it's possible you'll loose your DRM backup.
Use TA backup I linked and remember to upload backup to cloud (I have my backup on 3 clouds - google drive, mega, dropbox).
Many thanks. With this backed up, can I unlock the bootloader, relock and restore the TA DRM easilly and restore my tablet to original condition if need be?
Hi everyone.
I have a Sony Xperia 1 III, it's my second Sony phone.
Is there any way to backup all disk data to a image file and complete restore data?
Even if the device is not decrypted or unlock bootlocker?
Like some PC software can backup all data to a .WIM .ESD files and restore it.
Of course, it's best not to damage the machine.
Thanks!
some PC software will make the magic happen yeah yeah sure

yeah this is my first time to learn to flashing the phone, i know PCsoft such as Paragon backup&restore or Eassos PartitionGuru can backup the harddisk to image file, but the phone can do like this?
stay away from these scam apps with its fake reviews. these products can do nothing. try Google One. only for apps that allow backup.

okay...
there is also kinda clone of this app, but it doesn't backup anything except what you can get from play store anyway.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.swiftapps.swiftbackup
depending on android version it might possible to override the app settings and create adb backup regardless of its AndroidManifest.xml.
There is also an old app for adb backup, but I haven't tested any of this.
