the Droid X2 bootstrap, hijacks the charging mode, so whenever bootstrap is active, just power off the DX2, and connect to wall charger.
CM10 for DX2 is a little more complicated, to get bootstrap install, but it still uses the charging mode.
Thanx for the info. How long would it take for the recovery to come up if bootstrap is enabled on cm10?

selecting reboot recovery from the app doesn't allows work, but powering off the DX2 and connecting to wall charger should take less than 10 secs
---------- Post added at 04:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:52 PM ----------
the Droid X2 bootstrap app (System Recovery) 3 options
Install recovery (like CWM)
Recovery Mode (turn on bootstrap)
Charging Mode (turn off bootstrap)
I tried turning it off and plugging in wall charger and it popped up the charging screen.

You will not get the charging screen at all, if bootstrap is correct

the Milestone X2 has different system versions, and android versions (2.3.6)
using the Droid sbf, would have soft bricked it.
Using the MX2 wifi fix on the Droid X2, will break wifi, and you will need to reinstall the rom.
How did you downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.4?
Actually the wifi didn't work till I install the mx2 wifi fix.

I'm looking at upgrading to a newer phone next month and I was wondering if there was a ROM out there that didn't have the phone portion set in. I want my phone to be like a iPod so my kids can play with it.

I think if you were to freeze phone specific things it couldn't harm anything, but I recommend you go to froyo then do it, for the sake of battery or you could just put it in airplane mode then hide the phone related apps I'm sure that would disable 911 too

I have what you need, let me remove the phone short cut from the launcher and I can get you into a rom set up as nothing but a media player.
Should have around 50 megs footprint.
Let me know if interested.
Edit: I'll put it together and post it for everyone, tonight hopefully.

I have accuweather, bbc, adjbrightness, betterbatterystats, cpuspy, es file explorer, flash, grooveshark, gmail, maps, history eraser, horse button, myatt, reddit, xda, youtube, torch, superuser, rom manager, dolphin browser, titanium backup. I changed roms to Nottachtrix with full wipe and no restoring of apps. For wifi settings, I have it go to sleep when screen turns off.

If you need your phone so badly why don't you just flash a GB based rom like Nottachtrix or cm7 ?
With all the JB build or ICS roms i have tried, my phone never goes to deep sleep too, i don't have an answer yet, but even when i plug it to the charger the cpu reminds at 750 Mhz.
The best for you it's to change until someone finds a solution

Going to need a little more info, for a good guess.
Could be the battery, the last app you installed, trying to connect-reconnect to wifi, did you do nandroid backup ?
Backup and do a Factory Reset.
It's happening on a couple apps, they don't seem to sense that I'm holding the phone in landscape. I've cleared cache and I've done a soft reset. Running the base 7.3 with no other problems. Any ideas?
Thanks

I flashed it, didn't like it so I tried to restore. Got an MD5 error so I had to flash the base again to get rid of the nocturnal mod.

I had the exact same happen to me, tried everything I could think of to fix it. Finally had to use lgnpst to restore, then reroot unlock and flash base.
I think I'll just wait to see if the next rom fixes it if that's the case. Does anyone know if there is an option to calibrate the sensors? I've looked but haven't found it

Under display in system settings, the last option but it will not help. You can be up and running in no time, lgnpst doesn't wipe data and there is an automated install script. Once you have everything downloaded it runs in few minutes.
I'll try that then, thanks

Thanks for confirming this issue. I have way to much music/ringtones/ notifications to mess with that I guess I'll just deal with it. So do you think it's a Rom issue or a go sms issue? Like it's not communicating correctly with 4.2.2

I have posted this in a couple other forums but no response yet, so hopefully some one see it here.
Does anybody know if the current build og viperDNA will work on a DNA that took the latest Verizon OTA update. It added alkBack, but as most have pointed out it may have been pushed to disable turning S-Off.
Putting ViperDNA on my phone would be my first time rooting or using Custom ROMs so I'm just trying to dot the I' and cross the T's. Can I put ViperDNA on with S-On? If not does Moonshine work to turn it off after the last Verizon update?
Thanks
Moonshine will work on the latest OTA. I did it last week after taking the update weeks ago I used a live Ubuntu USB boot to make it easy and not have driver issues with windows. YMMV as always with anything.
