So, I bought this slide screen protector last week for two dollars from ebay and I thought it was too good to be true but they are actually great, here is the link if you want it:http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-XtremeGUARD-HTC-MYTOUCH-SLIDE-3G-Screen-Protector-/230487883667?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item35aa25ff93#ht_2384wt_1137 I cant even tell I have it on! make sure you follow the directions!!
i was going to make this same thread whenever i bought mine lol, these screen protectors are perfect, and easy to do, i literally used one hand to do it(i recently got a bad cut on my other hand)
2 dollars is to cheap not to try just bought one now im excited hopefully will work good already got a little scratch on the side of my screen
Ordered one. Thanks!

For sure ordered one. $2 is worth it no matter what. thanks for the post.
Sweet! I've been waiting for BSE to come out with theirs but so much for that. Thanks for sharing.
are these the stupid protectors that tell you to install them with water? I ordered a set of 3 protectors off amazon for 2 bucks because they were the only ones available when the phone first came out and they all ended up in the trash within two days. I have ordered cheap protectors for my G1 and you just have to clean the screen and put the protectors on and it comes out perfect. Also I notice a lot of the new protectors are made of some rubbery stretchy material and not plastic like the ones I am use to.
Why not read the description and FAQ's in the link before you make a judgment. If you don't like it, return for a refund. Yes you use A LITTLE soapy water but as long as you don't drown your slide you should be good. After two weeks, this thing is still looking new .
Just ordered, hope its as good as you say =P
So far so good. There appears to be some slight distortion, I hope that it will clear up as the moisture evaporates and the protector adheres to the screen. Not sure if it is just a mental thing, but screen actually seems to be a bit more precise with this rather than the regular screen protector.

Mine came in today and I usually hate putting these things on but it was pretty painless. Im waiting for all the moisture to dry though. Ill have a better review of it in a few days.
Just wanted to update. The distortion cleared up within a few hours. Now that the bubbles are gone (took a couple days) it is crystal clear. Overall, I am very impressed. It was $2 well spent.

Got mine in today. Everything looked cool until I put it on. That's when I noticed a piece of lint or something stuck just near the right edge. Couldn't get it off for the life of me. Sucks. Gonna order another one. Good thing these are only $2.
I got thr same screen protector and it is just as good as any high dollar one. Worth the $2
This thing is awesome! It really looks nice I am very impressed, for $2 its one of the best investments out there for your phone.
I did have distortion the the first day but it cleared up to be crystal clear. Ordering another for my g/f tonight.
Edit: Just wanted to say that this protector does not leave smudges or finger prints at all. Had a protector on my HD2 and I still had aton of smudges and finger prints even with the protector.

It took about 4 days for mine to arrive. Its coming from Utah so it shouldn't take that long.
Ordered it on a Sunday night and it came in the following Saturday.
They ship it in a regular envelope, so delivery times arent guaranteed.
Just wondering, from what part of the phone to what part does this cover? I mean like, from just above the buttons to the end of the black outline on the phone? or just strictly the parts you touch the screen?
Hey everyone, I made this post to ask around and see if anyone has tried out the ZAGG Invisible shield for the Mytouch Slide, and what do you all think about it.
I'm thinking of buying it but would like to get some feedback first.

I have it on my slide it has allready saved my screen my daughter dropped mine and it scratched the screen shield and it saved my screen. They have a lifetime warranty they are a little difficult to put on so if you are getting it at a store let them do the install and whatever you do make sure you leave your phone of for 12 to 24 hours. 1 is it helps and all the bubles realease and 2 they use a liquid spray on each piece when they install it.And you dont want anything wet when you turn it back on. I swear by mine. And I live in Utah where they are headquartered.I have an in so I get alot of free skins and stuff.
I wont use any protector that requires a spray or water to apply the protector. I'm waiting for the plastic static cling protectors to come out. I used them on my G1 all the time and they are simple to put on without any bubbles and plus the are pretty cheap. These new rubbery screen protectors feel weird, they say its some high tech military material or some garbage. I just want a simple plastic protector that sticks to the screen with no solution. There's a ton for the G1 I dont know why they havent released any for the slide yet.
I'm not too sure about Invisible Shield, but I recently installed a bodyguardz full body protector on my slide and so far I love it. The major advantage I see over invisible shield is that, for about the same price, bodyguardz gives you two sets of protectors in case you botch the first installation (which I did). Overall, after a few days after the second installation I only have a few small bubbles and I actually love the feel of it overall... since installing the protector, I have found it much more easier to type accurately in swype, but that may just be me. There is also no negative effect on the touch screen in any way if you were worried about that.

Thanks a lot! I actually never even thought to check T-Mobile and the last time I checked e-bay all I could find are those new ones that require that spray or water. I just bought these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Category=20336&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=2 I'll let you guys know how they are. Thanks for the info, and everyone's feedback, I went ahead and decided to get the ZAGG shield full body, try it out and see what happens, I tried the T-mobile ones and they just had too many scratches too quick, hopefully ZAGG won't let me down.

invisable shielde
whats up man. i just wanted to let you know about my personal expirences with invisible shields. i personally have had one on every htc phone ive ever owned (touch pro, touch pro II, HD2, and now the mytouch slide 3G) and i love pretty much everything about them. they seriously are nearly scratch proof and honestly, during a fall it will protect your phone for the most part. installation can be a pain in the a$$, but you just have to brave about it and use plenty of the spray. use it ilberally on the actual shield and your finger-tips and it will make it pretty easy to position it. on the back peice just go ahead and soak that thing cuz its hard to get it right the first time. luckily if you do mess up, these things come with a lifetime replacement warrenty. all you have to do is give them back the old shield and they'll hook you up with a brand new one . once you figure it out though you'll appreciate it a lot. it gives the phone a really nice feel and it keeps it really well protected. me personally, i like to pair a full body invisible shield with a regular t-mobile screen protector. the reasoning behind this is, one, that ive discovered that it is nearly impossible to get the screen portion of the invisible shield on without bubbles underneth it for some reason (possibly because of how slick the screen is compared to the body of the phone?). and two, a touch screen is meant to be glided around on. it should be nice and slick and feel extremely smooth tothe touch, not all rubbery and sticky when warm. and finally, because it just plain looks better, straight up. your not going to get the same clean look of the plastic protector as you are from an invisible shield. yes the standard protectors are easier to scratch, but thats why they come in three packs. so you can replace em when nessesary. i find it easiest to place the protector down on the screen and position it properly, then take a piece of scotch tape and tape the side. that way you can peel up the backing and lay it down properly with a credit card as to get it perfectly positioned and without bubbles. if you follow my instructions you should be able to install with ease . ive really liked every invisible shield ive had, and the only problem ive found with them is that after time the edges of the shield will get dirty because of the adhesive on the back slowly being pressed out over time. that and the edges sometimes come up. but thats why they come with a warrenty, so you can replace em all you want . i tend to replace mine every 4 to 6 months. in the end i found that its a worth it investment if your the kind of person that wants to protect your phone but doesnt want to add a bunch of bulk to the phone from a case. it really allows the beauty of the phone to come out while still being protected. anyways, i hope my review will help you with your installation and help anyone else reading with their choice on wheather or not to purchase an invisible shield. i really like mine, and i hope you like yours too. enjoy
I have had the invisible shield on my last 3 phones and it is clean, discrete and it does everything that it is suppose to. I personally pay the extra money to have the representative put it on for me and call it a day. You will not be disappoint in the product and the others are just plain cheap and inefficient.

Ghost Armour all the way
I ordered one, came in the mail, this was the first Zagg Invisible Shield that I had put on perfectly. I left it for 24 hours to sit and dry and now it's perfect!
So I got my Flyer on Friday, only to see after one transportation in the bag and ~ 1 hour of total usage that I had my first small but noticeable scratches on the display. Even further, I got one a little more visible when writing with the stylus today. Deriving from my experience with HTC devices from the last couple of years, and avoiding playing in a sandbox with it, I thought it was safe to not buy an extra screen protector.
So, how do your Flyers perform? Same experience? Had been asking in another forums where no-one else experienced the same, so I wonder whether this is just a factory fault on mine or if it is that sensitive to scratches in general...
Cheers

None here
I don't really see any on mine! I am kinda worried now however, maybe I should buy an invisibleSHIELD lol... I haven't had a screen protector since my N1 days! I would drop HTC a line, they were really prompt to answer my questions, and I figure getting their opinion is probably a good option!
Hmm, that is strange. I don't have any on mine. I thought these were made with Gorilla Glass?
No issues here, but using matt screen protector now.

None on mine as the first thing I did was put the "invisible" shield on. I don't trust the zero scratches concepts and claims. I always play it safe. You won't believe it, my TP2 is still scratch free for the next happy owner.
Always protect you expensive investment.
You guys are too clever, hehe. Contacted HTC support und will see what they will tell me about my issues...
Already got a deep scratch on it and a ton of micro scratches. Not too happy about that. I could live with the micro scratches. But the big one is really going to bother me.
First one to experience the same... oh well, not a single-case problem it seems. Scratches are really an issue, considering you're not going to use it in lab conditions (weren't they meant for mobility?).
I didn't want to.take a chance, so I'm only using it with a screen protector
I am using the Samsung Galaxy Tab Platinum Easel Folio case (purchased at Best Buy) - tight fit but works perfectly and looks good.
Yep it is a scratch magnet. I really cannot believe that this is GG on this tablet as my sammy tabs screen is much more resilient. Scratches on mine and I have no idea how they got there. Waiting on a protector from ebay and treating it very carefully until then.

How does the pen fare with the screen protector? Everything still good?
invisibleSHIELD
I installed a Zagg iShield on mine today, the pen kind of drags, which had me worried. But y'all that reported scratches, question are you using European models or the US model per chance? I just wonder if that has anything to do with it?
European model. Am thinking of sending it back & ordering a new one elsewhere. No report back from HTC on the matter.
Mh - I guess the best option would be to use a cheap and simple screen protector for now to protect the screen from scratches.
There should be some better ones out once the Flyer is on the market for some time. I bet those will be better suited for the use of the pen.
Regarding the pen a thinner protection "shield" might be better.
Apart from that I think if you don't intend to sell the device at some point I don't really care about scratches after all. My old Samsung has millions of them but actually you can't see it when the screen is on and I won't using it with the screen off. For me that's a typical "So what?" question.
However, I'll get a screen protector too
haha

I've had the same issues in former WM phones which required a stylus. The invisibleshield films are slightly spongy and increase drag on the stylus. Over a while, I noticed some "orange peel" effect on the film also... but that maybe my poor application.
The boxwave clear or anti-glare films are what I'm hoping to find... I may order the matte screen protector from UK Amazon.

I would really love to do so as well, but the Amazon shop seems to be the only one having them, but unfortunately is not shipping to Germany. Does anyone know an alternate shop that ships them elsewhere?
No scratches here, been using it since it came out, also been using the pen on here no scratches or minor ones either. Got mine from best buy.
Screen protector
So I am learning to live with the iShield everything seems ok, the pen still works fine, however the drag is annoying only sometimes, bearable! Oh so my friend's Flyer is still a-ok screen protectorless, and our demo model at work has nothing on it, however that is only people tapping it with fingers. And it seems to me that the European models are the only ones people are seeing scratches on (in this thread at least) and the Best Buy US models aren't exhibiting the problem. Maybe there was a bad batch of glass in those models? This is all speculation of course!
So my 2 day old Note has a hairline scratch that is only visible with the screen off in the right light. I am told that if I get this screen protector it will more than likely hide the scratch, and obviously prevent new ones. I'm curious to hear if others have this and like it. I have never used a screen protector because I don't like the way they look and feel, but apparently this screen is very easily scratched, despite me only keeping it in my pocket by itself.

Have the Zagg Dry Invisi-Shield installed on mine, front and back protection, and both he dry and wet install shields leave little indented marks when you use the s-pen because they are soft. At first its barely noticeable but the little grooves build up over time. Just something to consider, depending on how much you use the s-pen.

I went to Best Buy and and exchanged the phone for a new one because of the scratch and bought the InvisibleShield. I'm not crazy about the Orange Peel look, but it's better than the scratched screen look.
i have the shield on mine as well........after having the rocket for 5 months and not having a case nor a screen protector i had to get one for the notes awsome screen.
and the S-pen is Great. i use it for texting and everything. the write to text is pretty accurate and fast when you get used to it. my only gripe is that with the Zagg shield the pen does not flow quite as smoothly so it hickups here and there when not applying just the right amount of pressure.
I actually wish that it had the physical home button like the Intl version. I saw some neat tips and tricks -such as disable touch screen -which would be great for movies, etc -especially with children...

I just learned after buying the Invisible Shield that even though they offer a lifetime "free" replacement, it costs $4 for them to ship it to you and you have to pay to ship it back. In what world is that free?
I bought the invisible sheild today from bestbuy. Not really liking how it feels "tacky" compared to the slick glass. Something to keep in mind when considering purchasing it.

I bought the Zagg tonight, installed it and thought I had it on perfect! Was all proud of myself. Went to go turn the screen on and all these rainbow colors and weird looking dots all over between the screen and shield! I was so pissed. I think I sprayed too much of their liquid on. I should have just paid Best Buy to install. What a waste of money. $22 down the drain.
bought some screen protectors on Amazon to get here Thursday and then 6x off of eBay. I don't care if I have to replace one a month. I'm not spending $20 anymore on one screen protector.
Zagg has also started making an HD version of there screen protector, this one does not give you the orange peel look like the old ones. Right now i think it is only for the Iphone but give it some time they will probity start making them all like that.
Hey all,
just wondering. Is screen protector needed for this phone? I got the Diztronic case from amazon, been with it about a month and a half. It comes with its own screen protector which I used from day 1.
It has some bubbles on the sides, barely noticeable, but I'm wondering if screen protector is really needed on this phone?
My old galaxy S 4g (t959v) had the same gorilla glass, never used screen protector and almost a year and a half later is still is intact, with some minor scratches that are only visible when phone is pointed towards the sun or a very bright light.
What I hate about these protectors is that you get to much fingerprints on it and it's hard to get off, even while using the provided cleaning cloth. It's like oil that won't get off easily. I remember my old sgs4g, it was easy to clean and fingerprints weren't as bad. Also, screen seems brighter. Don't know if this phone minimum brightness level is lower, but the sgs4g looks a LOT brighter on lowest brightness setting than this phone, which I hope is because of ROM and not because of screen protector. Though this should mean better battery life for me while indoors i guess.
What you guys think?

I have used a protector on all my phones. Its not essential to use one but I think its worth because you eventually will get at least a small scratch on the device through normal usage and scratches are visible when you hold the screen(when it is off) under light. And I dont think that a screen guard would be a disturbing cause for the user experience unless its a low quality one. And it just saves the screen which might also help in getting you a higher resale value because your screen isn't scratched at all.
Well, I don't really like cases and protectors. I think they ruin the look and feel of the device, regardless of the type of case and how much they protect. I like my devices naked.

I had the captivate and I used it without a screen protector for almost a year without it getting any noticeable scratches. Then I got the S2 and within 2 weeks there was about a 1/2 inch scratch on the front, and I was incredibly careful with it. I would recommend using one.

My case is black/gray, but the only one I could find is white/gray except from AT&T's site. Though it is only 20 bucks from AT&T.
Couldn't be happier. Gives the phone a more rugged feel and has helped the phone survive a few falls from about 4 feet straight to parking lots, thanks to my 1yr old, without any damage to the phone. The case has some minor scratches and a couple scrapes. The screen protector has taken all of the damage as well leaving my screen flawless.
It literally looks as of I just took it out of the box minus some lint. Might not be the best case, but is doing the job it was designed to do..and it was free!

Just have to ask, what was the one year old doing with your phone?
Grocery shopping isn't always fun for a 1yr old... Sooooo, my daughter has a few apps on my phone and a few on my her mom's (my fiancé) iPhone. Gotta keep her from being that screaming baby when she starts to get cranky

This could be used as an advertisement by samsung...
Screen protectors are a preference. Though, some of them are known to degrade screen quality. I'm always afraid that my nails will scratch the screen so I always have em. The day I got my phone the first thing I did was get a case and a screen protector. Still going strong and as an added bonus, it covers up the at&t and Samsung logos on the front.

Its opinion and preference. Im fairly nice to my phones, I dont use a screen protector or a case. i also think pizza is better than hamburgers and like blondes over brunettes.

There is nothing better than a nice juicy burger and a......... brunet.
I enjoy the peace of mind, so I always get a quality screen protector for any touch device I own. If you spend a few bucks, you can get one that's not too sticky, goes on with no bubbles and is scratch resistant (which IMO are the three drawbacks of using screen protectors, especially cheap ones).
I've been using zaggs for just shy of a year now. If/how it differs from others, I couldn't say, but I can say it works, phenomenonly. On top of that, what prompted me to go with zagg, is their lifetime warranty (never pay for another one) and if you take the 10-15 minutes to register your purchase, and device online, it insures your screen. User damage, or not, regardless of at&t's verdict, your screen is covered for replacement. Just my two cents

Nice! I like that. +1 In your case, screen protection + Heavy Duty case. Just incase she drop it, or get cranky and throw it.
Lol, like I said, casemate pop case has been good to me so far.
