[Q] Unlocked Bootloader Can't Find SuperSU? - HTC Desire 601

Hey guys I'm running Kitkat 4.4.2 on my HTC Desire 601, and I'm needing a little bit of rooting help.
I have managed to unlock my HTC Desire 601's boot loader using philz_touch_6.12.8-zara. However, I've run into a small problem. The final step in rooting my phone isn't working. The guide says to download SuperSU zip (which I've done) and place it onto your micro SD card on your phone (I did this). Then, boot into recovery mode and install SuperSU.
Here's the problem:
No matter what I do, when I boot into the philz' recovery mode and try to install SuperSU from my SD card, the SuperSU zip file doesn't show up. However, if I plug my phone back into the computer and check my SD card, my computer shows that the SuperSU zip file is in fact, still on the SD card.
So am I doing something wrong?

Cwm is for jb. Flash twrp http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...recovery-twrp-2-8-0-0-touch-recovery-t2874948 then reboot to twrp. Select "reboot" then select "system". It will ask u if u want to be rooted via supersu. Say yes. Thats it. U can check if ur phone is rooted via the app called root checker

[ROOT][Custom Recovery][Updating] Easiest way

I am new to A116 but an old android fan so when I bought the mobile I thought of rooting it but as many have some problem, I am going to give the easiest rooting method which may work for any devices.
It works on the latest stock rom too.
Rooting:
Method 1: Can be done from mobile
Requirements:
Framaroot (search on Google )
Steps:
1)Open Framaroot
2)Select the exploit such as Boromir
3)It will ask you to restart. Just Restart
4)Now Ur Rooted. But the SuperSU is old.
Method 2:Can be done from mobile with Computer
Requirements:
1)SP Flash Tools (Search on Google)
2)TWRP or CWM (Get it from here)
TWRP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539763
CWM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290174
3)Latest SuperSU zip (Search on Google)
4)Knowledge of Flashing through SP Flash Tools
Steps:
1)Copy the SuperSU zip to root of your SD card
2)Flash the recovery through SP Flash Tools
3)Now goto recovery and flash the SuperSU zip
4)Now ur rooted. The latest SuperSU is installed into the system along with the new binary.
Alternate Step:
1)If you have flashed CWM recovery and have not downloaded the SuperSU zip then you can still root the phone.
2)Just get into recovery and then click to restart system.
It will ask to root the device.
3)Go to the Yes option and when u restart, your phone will be rooted. But the SuperSU is old. So update from PlayStore
Updating to Custom Recovery:
Method 1: Can be done from mobile
Requirements:
1)U r Rooted
2)Mobile Uncle MTK Tools(Download from PlayStore)
3)TWRP or CWM recovery(Download from above given links)
Steps:
1)Now if you have the recovery downloaded then copy it to root of your SD card and rename it to recovery.img
2)Open the Mobile Uncle MTK Tools and grant SuperSU permission
3)Go to recovery update option and click on the recovery.img
4)It will ask to reboot. Now here is the critical step. Just wait 10-15 secs without rebooting because if you reboot suddenly then the recovery that the MTK tools is copying will be stopped and the recovery will get corrupted and when you boot into recovery, u will just see black screen.
This means take out the battery and do the steps again.
5)Now you have a custom recovery installed to flash ur zips
Method 2:Can be done from computer only
No need to be rooted
Requirements:
1)SP Flash tools
2)Knowledge of flashing through flash tools
3)Custom Recovery Downloaded
Step:
This is just like flashing ur rom but instead of choosing all the partition in the recovery, just tick the recovery partition and show where u have the recovery downloaded.
Now click download and after it is finished
U can go to recovery to see if it is flashed successfully.
Updating to latest SuperSU:This can only be done through mobile
Method 1:
1)Update from PlayStore.
2)Then open it and update the su binary
3)Now you can do it normally but if it fails you can choose the CWM/TWRP option to go to recovery and update the binary.
4)Now open SuperSU and go to option of installing it into the system.
5)Now reboot and check if installed because if not installed, root is lost and u have to root again.
Now 2nd method is the surest and best method to update to latest SuperSU and have the binary installed automatically
Method 2:
1)Download the latest SuperSU zip
2)Enter the recovery and flash the zip.
3)Now u can reboot to see that latest SuperSU is installed directly into the system
Q) Now users may ask why do we need to install SuperSU into system?
A) It is very simple. U may have a app that ask for root permission just after booting.
If SuperSU is not is installed in system then the permission will be denied and app stops working. This may be critical if u apps like Seeder or Greenify or Link2Sd or such installed and the permission gets denied.
Don't worry root is not lost but it is delayed to the time when your SD card is fully mounted by the system.
This type of delay can be experienced by anyone who has lots of apps installed.
Sometimes due to quickly booting the SD card gets mounted later thus the delay again.
So it's better if you install the SuperSU into system. This way no problem will occur.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully this will help everyone.
Hit thanks if it helped "YOU"

[Q] Flashed recovery but unable to root or mount internal storage

I just got my new HTC One M6 and now I can't get it rooted. Additionally, I seem to have messed up the internal storage because I get errors when I try to do anything in TWRP and I can't get supersu to install in twrp either. I can't even get anything to show up in any of the folders while in recovery.
Here's info on my phone and what I've done so far:
1) hboot v1.56
2) got unlock token from htcdev and unlocked successfully
3) flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0 recovery using Squabbi's HTC One Toolkit.
4) tried to install supersu using the toolkit and then tried putting supersu.zip on the sdcard manually. Neither worked and resulted in lots of error messages in TWRP.
4) tried to wipe data and everything else but this failed too.
Attached in this e-mail is a screenshot of the error messages i get in twrp when trying to wipe. Any ideas on what I can do to fix the internal storage so I can actually root my htc one?

[OPX][OXYGEN OS] | Stuck into recovery mode after OTA update

Hi there !
Today, after downloading an OTA update, my phone told me "Installation Failed", and now, it is stuck in recovery mode after booting.
I've been rooted (using kingroot im a nub ikr) but unroot as soon as possible cause i only needed to change the MAC adress of my phone to be able to use it in a hotel. Then, as i said, unroot, change back to my original MAC adress, install OTA and boom, stuck into recovery mode without any possibility to boot, normal or fastboot. I tried to wipe data and cache but it doesn't work. I've been looking to this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/oneplus-x-stuck-recovery-failed-ota-t3262390 ) but, unfortunately, i don't have any SD card, so my questions are, will the thread method work if i buy a new SD card ?
And will i have to download and flash the full rom or only the OTA ?
PS: No custom ROM, no custom recovery. || Sorry for english, french student and not really pro.
Never OTA with root installed/adjustments made. You could manually download the OTA zip and flash it.
hi
1st are u on stock recovery or twrp
download the full rom place it on the root of ur sd or internal storage NOT in any folder
do a full wipe and flash the rom u should be ok good luck
I fixed my issue, i was on stock recovery wich means you can't access the storage, here is what i've done -->
Install ADB+Fastboot
Connect Phone to PC in fastboot mode
Flash twrp after unlocking bootloader
Now phone recognized, i've downloaded stock onyx ROM from one plus
Then i've flashed the ROM from twrp and my phone finally boot...
Full tutorial for those experiencing that issue

Stuck in Honor splash screen thingie

Hello, so I wanted to root my phone. I went throught the process of unlocking my bootloader, after that the phone still booted up to the system.
Then I installed twrp, and at that point, the phone still booted up to the system. I believe my **** up happens on the next part, which is me putting supersu zip in the external sd of the phone, and then installing it through twrp, and now the phone wont go further than the Honor screen I can get to twrp and fastboot, I'm gonna try to install the stock recovery and stuff through abd now...

Follow steps given in this thread, it will work.
Next time back up your phone using TWRP.
Also you are probably stuck in bootloop as you installed version of supersu that is not compatible. Use superSU 2.62 and it should work.

Bootloop Honor 9 with Bootloader and FRP unlocked

Hi all people,
first of all, I want excuse me for not my perfect English.
I have Honor 9 from few days. And I think to have bricked it.
I have unlocked bootloader correctly.
I have flashed recovery this TWRP recovery with the intention to proceed to root with Magisk or SuperSu. I accidentally and unconsiuosly do factory reset then the phone goes bootloop. (it power off and power on continuously) with the alert "your device has been unlocked and..etc".
Yesterday, reading this thread, I flashed, from fastboot console, boot, recovery and system, the phone resets two/three times then goes to eRecovery where I do a factory reset.
After a factory reset the phone works correctly and seems successfully unbricked. So I re-flash TWRP recovery.
But this morning, during the attempt to install from TWRP one between Magisk or SuperSu (I don't succeed to do it beacuse the phone was crypted and I don't see zip files from TWRP). I have reset the phone but goes bootloop again.
I tried to re-flash boot, recovery, system and cust more (that I don't have flashed yesterday). Now the phone goes eRecovery and ask me to connect to download latest version and recovery, but don't ask me to do a factory reset.
Now I don't know what I can do.
How I can solve this situation? I want only unlock bootloader (done!), install TWRP and have root permission. Now I don't think to change rom.
Something similar happened to me. It seems like the TWRP provided has some issue..... After installing TWRP I had a bootloop problem. I have resolved installing Magisk. It seems that Magisk patchs something. If you can access TWRP try to install Magisk (put the zip file on external sd). In other words: copy magisk zip on sd card - during the bootloop you have the chance to power off phone - Power off - Power on in recovery mode. If you have TWRP correctly installed Honor should go in recovery using TWRP . Install Magisk and see what happens...

I have tried to flash TWRP recovery again to do install Magisk from sd card. I have done it but the phone doesn't work fine.
So I have put rommco05 TWRP Backup into sd card then restored it from TWRP restore (boot and vendor img). Now the phone seems have bootloader locked, in fact I don't have bootloader warning at the power on. Now in fastboot mode the phone says me that I have Phone locked and FRP unlocked.
How can I exit from this situation?
Try this

Now I should try to root the phone with Magisk or SuperSu, right?
I have a question about TWRP. From TWRP's file manager I don't see the files that I put in the internal memory. It's because I have used finger print to lock the phone that encryptes files?

This is to re-brand the phone from Chinese to EU version...I don't think is my case.

Take a backup before make root. You don't see files because is some issue with decryption in TWRP. I achieved root with Magisk but I don't remember exactly steps

I think it's too late
Anyway I can re-flash all thing from begin.
Then I can't use TWRP with the phone encrypted ( PIN, password, fingerprint, etc...) ?

After I have installed Magisk (v14.0) now I have problem with google play services which don't download and do updates apps.
If I do a factory reset again I can solve it?
Update:
After I done a factory reset from TWRP recovery
and formatting data partition the phone seems working perfectly (I don't know why, but before format data the phone says me that I have only 150mb of memory space)
I say "seems" because there's something getting me in trouble, for example, I don't have anymore ringtones in the settings menu.
And I don't know if I have lost something else.
Exists a possibilty to restore all contents of the phone?
You could try this and flash your phone back to stock. But then you would need to unlock your bootloader and install TWRP again. Another way would be to unpack an image of your ROM and flash system and other parts via fastboot. Of course this could be risky and you could brick the device.

If I understand it well...
I have 2 options:
1) Rebrand the phone and flashin, then at end I have back the phone stock.
2) Unpack the image of ROM (what it means?) and flash system and other parts via fastboot. (Which are those parts? How?) But this procedure is more hazardous then rebrand procedure?
I have understand right?
1. Yes, correct. I would recommend that. Everything is explained in the thread I linked. Of course everything you do could potentially harm your phone, but you should know that already.
2. Get an update.app file for your specific phone model (there are threads already here, just search a bit, or use Firmware Finder), open it with the Huawei Update Extractor and extract the parts you want to flash (like system or recovery). Then flash them via fastboot. I tried this because I was in a situation like yours, but it didn't work for me. But in theory it could, because you would replace the faulty parts of your firmware.

Hi, I don't say it because I have replaced the phone with another same.
Now I'm starting to unlock bootloader, installing recovery TWRP and rooting the phone.
I hope to avoid bootloop this time.
Goodmorning everyone!
Yesterday I have:
- Unlocked bootloader correctly!
- Installed TWRP correctly!
- Make a TWRP Backup of all partitions of the device, except data partition because TWRP gives me an error during backup attempt.
- Then I start the device.
- After start the device I go to recovery TWRP to install Magisk, but the phone goes bootloop.
After reboot 2-3 times on the screen appears for a few moments a message of eRecovery that have restored something but I don't know. Then the device shows me the eRecovery that asks me to make a factory reset.
At this point I shutdown the device, go in TWRP to flash Magisk unistaller and the device goes out bootloop and works fine but without root.
How I can solve this problem and install Magisk and have root finally?
Some question:
-When I flashed TWRP (via fastboot) and I configurate it, example language, hours, etc... TWRP don't save the settings, in fact when I go in TWRP again I do remake the settings. Why?
-Then I go in sdcard I don't navigate files, I see folders with casual characters. This is an effect of encryption of the device?

Answers to all your concerns go here mate---> TWRP doesn't decrypt data. Done.
Hence: weird folders in there, nowhere to store its settings prefs, about Magisk it's another story, if you want root go SuperSU latest beta.
Regards.
a basically did what that guy did, got root installed via TWRP but my google apps are all busted.
I tried flashing the update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_hw_usa.zip I found using the russian device lookup link switching trick but I the HW errored when I tried to flash it in TWRP and my play store still broken.
