Note: This mod is only working on scrubbers lollipop port.
I've always preferred an 0.75 animation scale. 1.0 is too slow and 0.5 is to fast.
If you like it too just follow these instructions:
- Flash attached zip in recovery
- Reboot and head in to settings. In About phone tap the build number 5 times to enable developer options.
- In developer options scroll down to the 3 types of animation scale.
- Now you should have a 0.75 option. Set this and let your device fly.
Status: Beta 1
Uploaded: 2014-12-08
I'm just saying I turn them all off to 0 and makes everything much faster.
Actually turning them all of might give you issues. Animations are not solely there for the eye pleasure. And everything is not "much faster" compared to 0.75.
0.75 suits me best. And IMHO the lollipop animations aren't that bad

I tried flashing it via TWRP and CWM and neither resulted in any new .75x option. Is there anything I'm missing mate?
I also tried clearing the dalvik cache. Nothing seems to work for me.

It seems I'm not the only one who isn't able to enable this mod.

I'm not sure which of my actions screwed up this mod.
I had already enabled developer options so I skipped step #2.
I had also flashed the navbar mod before flashing this one.

Other things I may have done to break this mod include following this guide to get viper working:

1. Root using CF-Autoroot.
2. Change to permissive mode using SELinux Mode Changer.
3. Enable developer options -> Uncheck Use NuPlayer (experimental).
4. Flash the zip below from recovery and wait for cache to be rebuilt.
5. BOOM! Enjoy your music flawlessly.

Mate, I've yet to get it working.
I just listed the things which could have broken the mod.

You can try Viper4Android though, its like DSP which comes with Cyanogen but it has more options.

Yes, I tried it right now, in CWM and TWRP. Not working again on both. Anyways, the zip's script is supposed to mount system automatically. I'm not sure what is causing it to not work when its working on some devices.
And yes, I am on Scrubber's Lolipop port right now.
I've got no idea why it's not working for you... :/
Cam you try to push the settings apk manually and see if that helps.
Oh wait @jnx_r try set selinux back to enforcing.

I just installed and ran Viper4Android, the very one you sent the link to. I have some questions. After launching Viper4Android, how can I tell if it's working or not? Secondly, what settings do you recommend I set in the program?
Thanks.

Well, I haven't tried out every setting yet to come up with my own preferences yet. But yes I can confirm that its working as advertised.
Just play any audio track and while its playing, change the settings in V4A and see the difference. If you're unable to notice anything, try the extreme setting, or increase the decibels in the optional effects you prefer.
If you still can't notice any difference, then its about time you changed your headset, I'm using $450 IEMs. From my short time with V4A, I found it to be more versatile than DSP with more flexibility.
Now about what you were asking, I'm currently using AGC gain at moderate level. Extreme makes things really loud. Anyways, I'm happy that it fixes one of the main complaints about Sony phones'. ie. low audio levels.
Equalizer is disabled at this point, but I may tinker with it as I change tracks. Bass level boost & Clarity[makes audio crisper by amplifying high freqs a bit] are left untouched too as my IEMs can produce bass pretty well, and enabling those options will simply be overkill. But I do imagine using those options when I am listening on something which doesn't couple with my ear canals perfectly.
Virtual Surround is also left disabled, along with Binaural levels but I may enable Virtual Surround, during movies or extended listening to counter listening fatigue.
-
Go through the OP for V4A once for details regarding the settings and you should be set:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
PS: I'm using it with Walkman app from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728110
It works flawlessly, along with other Sony media apps. xLoud and other proprietary Sony Audio technologies like Clear Stereo and Clear Phase are working too.
^ Thank you so much jnx_r for for your help, much appreciated.
I will play around with the settings until I'm satisfied with the results!
Please people don't discuss viper in this thread.
@jnx_r push Settings.apk found in the flashable zip to /system/priv-app/Settings and set permissions to 644.
The flashable zip should definitely work though. We are on the same system, uses the same recovery (I use CWM).
Flash it again and show me a screenshot of the windows animation scale options please.

DISCLAIMER:
If you hold me responsible for bricking your device, I will laugh hysterically.
I found this while searching for the perfect, fastest, most stable AOSP-based ROM with exceptional battery life and thought I'd share with the XDA community. I will update this as they come (until I get the Sensation or Sensation XE ).
Although a majority of the N1er's will stick with CM, MIUI or SENSE, this is here for the barebone lovers.
MAIN FEATURES:
SuperUser and busybox pre-loaded ("rooted")
ClockworkMod recovery and nandroid backup/restore image
Automatic notification and secure, over-the-air downloads of system updates
Trackball wake setting (for Nexus One phones with broken power buttons)
Option to link media/music volume with ringer volume system-wide for simplified control
Native screenshot capability through the globally-accessible power menu.
Ability to reboot, reboot to bootloader, and reboot to recovery from global power menu
Large list of preset APN configurations for most GSM networks
Ability to use SIP over non-WiFi connections
Ability to hide failed unlock patterns on pattern lock screen, for added security
"Copy all" shortcut from long-press menu on any text field
Global setting to always silence camera shutter sounds
Alarm Clock App: Option to speak the time when pressing snooze, and use a large snooze button
Camera App: Ability to use physical volume keys as a shutter button.
MMS/SMS App: Settings for dark background and font sizes
MMS/SMS App: Customizable number of vibration iterations
Web Browser: Ability to change user agent and an increased number of maximum windows
Web Browser: Ability to use DuckDuckGo for secure web searching
REQUIREMENTS:
- Radio version 5.08 (This is due to the fact that this was the latest version officially released to ALL N1's. The developer doesn't want to take any chances risking stability.)
INSTALLATION:
I used the fastboot method, but I believe you can use nandroid and CWM Recovery as well.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
^THIS UNLOCKS YOUR BOOTLOADER, YOUR WARRANTY WILL BE VOID
Code:
fastboot -w update /path/to/blandroid.zip
^THIS WIPES ALL YOUR DATA (except SDcard)
Your phone will reboot when completed. Remember to flash the Google apps and any kernel you prefer. If you are using AmonRA you will have to re-flash your recovery as the fastboot method restores a clockwork recovery.

Thanks for your work and always appreciate ongoing rom development.
How does this rom compare to other ASOP roms like Oxygen which is pretty vanilla too? Can we use pershoot's new kernel on this?
Thanks
Very interesting to see indeed. I am getting fed up with lags and FCs with my messaging and dialer and sometimes need my device to run butter smooth. Will try and give review... Features look nice.
Very stock.... Stable as can be. No a2sd and limited kernels for AOSP Roms. If you want a stock Rom, this is one of the very best.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
its basically the most dry vanilla rom with stability the number 1 priority. no crashes/fc's/random reboots..
if youre looking for something fancy, this isnt it.

a few comments/notes on installation:
Trackball Wake setting is in Settings->Display
Music app signature not showing update for Google Music in market (ie market version of Music installs alongside bundled Music app)
I use AmonRA, so I reflashed it. Could probably have removed recovery.img from the zip
deleted bootanimation.zip from /system/media
got a Gallery force close.
It's AOSP Android w/ trackball wake, exactly what I wanted for this particular device. Will report back if I notice anything else.
This is fantastic! The only problem I've ran into so far is, I can't seem to adb push anything. As far as I know, I have all the permissions... Looking forward to whatever you do to this next.
This rom doesn't have any a2sd features, right?
Iam always running out of memory..

adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk c:/path/etc
OR
use root explorer
then to put it back:
adb push c:/path/etc /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb shell

i wouldnt advice using root explorer to push the file in.. it can cause a crash because of the permissions
Nice ROM! I was searching for an alternative ROM without the f** DNS-bug (Cyanogenmod-based and much of AOSP roms have it) and this is the only one haven't it.

This firmware:
- Does not include root management (I suggest flashing SuperSU from recovery)
- Installs TWRP as device recovery
- 5.0.x Tested using PA Pico GApps
- 5.1 Tested using BaNkS Gapps via euroskank
or these other minimal GApps (untested)
Known issues:
- No sound during calls until toggle speaker phone
- Time zone bug
Installation notes:
- Do not use Mr.Cook's rom-wipe script; [ here's why ]
- I do NOT recommend dirty-flashing over other i777 firmwares

So what are the bugs in this rom. Is it same as cyandel?

I have not been running this firmware long, so I don't know all of the bugs yet. I am still testing the firmware myself.

Can you shoot videos??
Is sdcard detected?
It looks like there's no multi-user support. Or maybe I'm blind and I just can't find it. The other problem I found is that ES File Explorer doesn't work; it crashes and causes the phone to restart. Updating from the Play store doesn't fix it.
Otherwise, it seems to run alright. Wifi is fine, but I don't have a SIM for it.

I intentionally disabled multiuser support. If that's something that you use, I can enable it.
The stock file browser, and solid Explorer both work well on this firmware. I therefore suspect that ES crashes are an app compatibility issue.

So recently I've rooted my galaxy s5 tmobile sm-g900t and install viper4andriod. I have Busybox installed through google play and installed on both my xu and system folder. I also made sure there was enough space. Around 30mb of space. I then installed SeLinuxMode Changer and Universal init.d so that i can force the SeLinixmode changer to stay on permissive. There is a bug where restarting and exiting out the app would reset SeLinux mode you have selected. Now that that SeLinusMode restarts on permissive, i was able to install Viper4Andriod. I then continued and installed the driver, but after installation, i checked to see if anything changed in the sound. Nothing changed so i checked the driver status. It turns out to be Abnormal and unsupported. I'm running 2.3.40, and have also tried the latest version of Viper4Andriod, but both doesn't seem to work. I have stock touchwiz rom and completely disabled and removed Knox. I checked my root with Root Checker, and it passed. But for some reason going into recovery mode, it asks me to install supersu because it was missing. But at the same time, i am running PhilzTouch, which is outdated. I have tried other methods, but it doesn't seem to work. I just need to get pass the driver status problem.
If anyone know the solution to this, I'd very much appreciate it if you help us all out.
Same for me : with 6.0.1 rooted, the driver was unsupported.
What worked for me was to install viper4android from the play store, as the 2.3.4.0 version has better sound (in my own opinion) than the 2.4.0.1 that can be found elsewhere. After installing the driver in high quality, it showed as unsupported.
I had to flash two additional files that you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52106530&postcount=609 : Viper4A-[Build.Prop-Tweaks]-CWM.zip and Viper4A-[Soundfix-LibFiles]-CWM.zip. I am no expert, and probably only the second file is required but I flashed both and it just worked.
Also, you don't need a SElinux permissive kernel. You can simply flash the file linked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61242973#post61242973, and it will patch your system. As long as you have supersu installed, you will be able to use viper4android in enforcing.

Mmh I answered just above to that question? I tested it both on touchwiz with android 5 (lollipop) and 6 (marshmallow) and it works! It said "only kitkat" because at that time lollipop wasn't out you can see that the original post was dated from early 2014.

For some reason the driver keeps asking me to install it after flashing 2 the zips.
Guys, can you check this ROM(lollipop 5.1.1) for geiti94 which have all ready included this app. Very stable and battery friendly.

Is your kernel still permissive? If not you can also try to flash the supolicy fix.
You can also try to remove completly the viper4android app and reinstall it.
Lastly there are some identified issues with some supersu versions. I am sure that the driver installation works with supersu 2.52 (my main one when I was on lollipop) and 2.68 (the one I use on marshmallow). Changing your supersu to 2.52 could perhaps help you. This is identified in the main viper4android thread here "If you see V4A installation pop-up loop, its probably due to incomplete root."
Hi. I have a G900H with stock rom, just rooted and Selinux enforcing and Viper works just fine. I just installed it and also installed busybox and flashed a file I got somewhere on xda to permit Viper on enforcing. I also had to verify my settings on supersu to uncheck the entry for namespaces. Hope it helps

Hi there, please follow OP instructions, it worked for me fine that way, make sure that you don't flash anything in the first boot up, and double check your vendor & bootloader
Yeah I am going to flash the stock MTC20L now just to see what's up, I've followed the steps to the letter and still looking at the boot screen with the circle. How long does it take for that to load the first time for you guys?

Update: Right after I hit enter it booted LOL. Ok so something happened to the system before and returning to stock fixed it somehow. Oh well thanks OP.
Thanks @AL_IRAQI for this. Something different is good every now and again.

Privacy mode not working, just a heads up. Set a PW for the phone, then went down to set a PW for privacy mode and it will let me set a PW for it but then when I return to the Privacy mode menu in security settings it will not allow me to enable it. I slide the button to enable it and it will ask me for the privacy mode PW, I enter it, but it will not activate. It just spits me right back to the menu to try to enable it again. Strange thing, if you go one screen back it will actually say it is enabled beneath "Privacy Mode" menu option. But if you click privacy mode to go into its respective settings, the slider will not be enabled and all options will be greyed out. Fresh wiped, reinstalled everything, and re set up the device and no change. Anyone else with this issue?

Guys I found out that Enforced GPU rendering is enabled by default, make sure to disable it, go to Accessibility >> Developer options & disable it from there
To start off, credit goes to @GioBozza, @CappyT, @pioccd, @TotemFallico, @SimoIanni. They made this mod. All I did was port it to the V20.
ORIGINAL THREAD (go drop a "Thanks"): https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/wakeblock-blocking-drain-late-t3526313
Next, some caveats:
Neither I nor the users mentioned above take any responsibility for anything that goes wrong with you installing this.
I have personally tested this on the H918 on the 10k firmware. I see no reason for it not to work on other variants, BUT MAKE BACKUPS!!!
This mod is unofficial, and will remain so, meaning I may not be able to update it for every release, whether that be a new Android version for the V20, or a new mod version.
This is for STOCK ONLY.
This mod requires ROOT.
Again, MAKE BACKUPS!!!!!!!!!
Instructions (READ THROUGH THEM FIRST):
Backup `/system/framework/services.jar` and `/system/framework/oat/arm64/services.odex` (The latter is only relevant for ODEXed ROMs).
Download and install the app from the linked thread.
Download the `services.jar` file attached or linked in this post.
Copy it to your device somewhere safe (such as `/sdcard/`).
Use either the command line or a root file explorer to copy the downloaded JAR to `/system/framework/`, overwriting the current one. (YOU MADE A BACKUP, RIGHT?)
Make sure its permissions are set to 0644 (rw-r--r--).
Use either the command line or a root file explorer to delete the `services.odex` file that you made a backup of I'm sure C_C.
Reboot.
(If you have TWRP 3.1.1-1, you'll have to keep the backups on your device somewhere, since it doesn't support MTP right now!)
If all went well, your phone will boot successfully and you'll have some pretty fine control over your wakelocks. If not, restore your backups using the TWRP file manager and try again.
If you have any questions about the installation process, ask here. Otherwise, ask on the linked thread.
Nice job!
Good job everyone!

Excellent work! Been hoping this would get unoffiical support.
Edit: Damn, doesn't seem to boot on NotSoStock for the H918. I wonder if Tilde changed something in services.jar
@Zacharee1 nice find.
What are you using to compare before and after results of the mod?
Using the link you posted and github I've added the the mod to my rom all seems well but not sure which app will measure this best?
Also is there an app or something you are using to control which wakelock you want to block?
I tried the playstore version, but says device not supported...
Either way it doesn't seem to have any negative effects so far so I guess I'll just wait for a few days to see if there are any noticeable improvements...
Thanks for your work and contributions to this community!
Hopefully you'll still be using this device by time I finally go public with oZoP! Hopefully soon, but can't really say how much longer. Still many, many hours

I'm using Wakelock Detector Free to see which wakelocks are still happening. Some of them can't be blocked without causing systwm_server to continually crash, so you have to be careful.
The core kid is unsupported on this phone, not the app. If you swipe to the wakelocks tab, you should see a bunch.
I'm going to be on this phone for at least 2 years, so no worries there.

If yours looks like this too you can proceed blocking wakelocks. Please refeer to this thread to see which wakelocks to block(remember that the WakeBlock app asks for the block time in milliseconds so you need to add 3 zeros to the guide's times)

OP is correct... It was am error on myside and have since fixed and been blocking away those dang wakelocks!
Haven't really ever used anything that gve me control like this to pick and choose which ones! Very nice, now the problem is figuring out which ones to block! Haha

Quick update:
Don't use WakeBlock to block WifiOffDelayIfNotUsed. Your phone will reboot when connected to WiFi, disconnected from power, and put to sleep. This wakelock has been causing me some headaches, so here's an experimental JAR that just disables the wakelock altogether. Test it using the same instructions as in the OP (it does boot; I tested that far), and report any weird behavior. I won't be able to fix anything that happens because of this, but it'll be good for others to have that information.
If this goes well, I think I'll try packaging this into an AROMA installer. I've always wanted to try making one of those.

Edit: No luck unfortunately, still fails to boot. I've attached the services.jar from NSS 6.5
Just tried this on stock H910 and it couldn't get past the ATT logo. I replaced the .jar file and changed the permissions to 0644. Did I need to delete the .odex file in the .jar?
Will this work on G5?
Looks very interesting - out of curiosity has anyone had the dreaded "anx_wlock" kernel wakelock/battery drain on the V20 and managed to fix it with this?
Thanks. Works great on WETA 5.0.7 H918
