Guys, i rooted my galaxy alpha (SM-G850FQ) normally with CF-Auto-Root (Build KTU84P.G850FQJVU2ANH8). After rooting, open device and then i can not access internal memory. I could only use contact and sms service. Also it says successfuly rooted. I try to open any app then error occurs 'memory unavailable'. I checked with stock file explorer and there is no internel memory.
I returned to factory setting with wipe data and wipe cache. Open device and everything is normal.
What can cause with root? Is attempting to root this device? (SM-G850FQ)

Recently when I put APK's on my SD Card and try to install them I receive the 'Application not Installed' error. When this happens with market apps it's easy enough to unmount the SD and remount after the install. However if the APK is on the SD how can I do this?
Is there a fix for this? Also if it helps I'm running the Wildpuzzle ROM and the APK I'm trying to install at the moment is Angry Birds (getjar).

Yeah, the application installer shows up, I just receive the error message a few seconds of the scrolling grey progress-style/working bar.
Do you have a USB Cable? Try using "DroidExplorer", an awesome PC client that can directly install apps. Or, try using a File Browser like Root Explorer or Super Manager.
Do you, by chance, have an App2SD Patch? Because I have always found them buggy!
Try to "undo" everything you did up to before it stopped working. Also try formatting your cache partition and/or erasing dalvik cache. Did you do any flashing without making a NANDROID backup first?
Also try "SuperOneClick", there is an option to "Enable Non-Market Apps" for rooted phones.
Second-last resort? Factory reset. Last resort...? Backup all your apps/settings and reflash

Thanks for this. I'm trying Droidexplorer, explorers on the device wont install the apk as it returns the same error.
How long should the installation take. It's been running 15 mins so far, the internal storage has decreased a little but the installing window (on pc) is still up?
I am assuming you have a rooted phone with unrEVOked3 right? Would you happen to have some kind of App2SD patch installed....? Because I always found them unstable.... what firmware are you using? I am loyal to Sunaabh v1.1 (Froyo) Custom Firmware as it is well supported
Hmmm I've encountered that installing loop before. But only when trying to install an APK that wouldn't normally work, such as an older version of the Market or Flash 10.1. It just means it's waiting for ADB server to do something but ADB has obviously crashed. It should not take more than 30 seconds for an APK to install via DroidExplorer. Just unplug your phone and close DroidExplorer.
Does this happen with all APK's? How many have you tried?
Only thing I can think of is that you did something to damage your package.xml data and/or permissions are corrupted.
Did you try formatting your cache partition in Clockworkmod? Please try this, it will not destroy any data. But it will trigger a long reboot - it will appear frozen at the bootup splash screen but just let it go while it rebuilds the cache.
Also try "Clear Data" under Applications > Manage > Market.
Have you flashed anything in clockworkmod? If you can provide more details of exactly what you've done to your phone that might help, but I really doubt it.... I think the only option is to restore from a Nandroid Backup or Reflash Sorry... but these things do happen and we always learn the hard way lol....
You can use the official HTC Sync software to backup your phone numbers and SMS and stuff I believe, and if you want to backup your installed apps you can use Titanium Backup or many other Backup apps on the Market, Free or Paid.
Make into a zip file and flash via recovery

Thanks for everyones help, I now have it sorted!
I started an installation through Droid explorer and then cancelled it when the apk was on the phone.
Then I unmounted my SD
Then I used root explorer to browse to the apk on the phones internal memory
It installed with no worries and I remounted the SD!

Haha, how very odd! Regardless, good to hear you got it sorted
EDIT: If it happens again, maybe you could try to format the SD card. Might be possessed with some bad stuff in the .android_secure folder or something.
Equipment: Galaxy S2 (Rooted with odin CF-Root)
Problem: Evey time I reboot my phone all the data will be back to 10/11/11 (rooted and backed up date) , new installed app and data gone also.
Symptoms: Similar to the Deep Freeze on the computer. If you reboot the phone all the data and app will restore to the date of 10/11/11. I not sure either Titanium Backup Pro 3.9 or CWM caused this problems. Actually I backed up with 3 app TB, CWM and nitrality.
I tried:
1. Factory Reset.
2. Go into Recovery Mode wipe data / cache.
3. Remove Titanium Backup then TwLauncher and Market force closed all the time. Tried with root explorer also.
4. Press *2767*3855# not work.
5. Tried to flash Official rom and other custom rom but won't work
6. Fomat phone memory (USB) and sd card > after reboot all the data still back
More detail
PDA: DCKH2
Phone: DCKF1
Now, what should I do next?
How to remove Titanium Backup permanently ?
Thank you in advance.
Still need help, please.

I can remember another thread with the same issue.
There the user came to the conclusion that it was a hardware defect of the internal sd card.
He sent his phone back to the seller and as the seller could not fix the problem, he received a new phone.
Maybe you have got the same issue.
All writing operations to your internal sd card seem to work fine, but they are only written into a kind of cache/RAM and not permanently to the filesystem of your internal sd card.
If I could find this other thread again, I will add a link.
Ah I see. So if the internal sd it broke out, because it still rewrite the old data again and again. When I try to flash the new one or factory reset it should be better. Do you have any solutions or just send it back to the seller.
Thanks a lot.

Here is the other thread and the issue sounds very similar => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178964
If you have still warranty, send it back to the seller (after contacting).
Maybe the seller has got a special way of handling such a warranty replacement.
Good luck !

Thank you for you help ,,
Most will say factory reset to clear internal storage.
If you are getting that error it is an easy fix without wiping storage.
From a root file browser go to root and the /data/data folder.
Look for the folder linked to the app or apps giving that error.
Delete that folder.
The app will then install.
What appears to be happening is the data gets left over and the device thinks it is installed and will not let you install.
Since the app isn't installed you can't uninstall it either.
By deleting that left over data it will allow you to install again.
This will work for any app getting that error.
This is happening with some 4.3 roms.
Hi,
I bought a Z5C thinking it had 32GB.
I have MM installed with minimal apps installed, I haven't had time to load my phone up with loads of apps which inevitably happens over time.
In settings it says i have used 12.19GB of 16.00GB. Ok so I have only 16GB, that's a bit a crap, on Sony's site it says 32GB**:
**Memory comprises approximately 5 GB of firmware, plus 27 GB of “Internal storage” for music, pictures and films, and downloaded applications and their data. However in ES File Explorer it says I have used 4.81GB of 8.24GB? What?
My phone has an unlocked bootloader, is rooted and has TWRP recovery.
Can someone help me with my arithmetic please?

re-flash .224 stock firmware via flashtool and let it boot up first time. After that, you should see 32GB. I've met this 16GB issue a few days ago but in my case, I was upgraded to MM Xpower v3.0 from LP base without flashing stock to re-construction the partition.
Try repairing the file system of the data partition in the wipe menu in twrp. I had the same problem and this fixed it without wiping my data

I didn't even know you could do that with TWRP, thanks for the education.
For anyone else who is suffering from this I did the following with TWRP 3.0.2-0:
boot into recovery
select WIPE on the main screen
select Advanced Wipe
select Data partition
select Repair File System
should get the following message
"Repairing Data using e2fsck..."
"Done."
reboot
I now have 32GB. Much appreciated.
I came across this bug today and tried method mentioned in post above, but unfortunately it failed. Then I tried to repair /system partition and it worked - ~22GB is now accessible again.
I was so happy to find this post! I got the same problem, only 16Go available. I don't know what I could make wrong to get this problem.
A repair of the data partition didn't solve the problem but as michuroztocz, after a repair of the system partition I've the 32Go back!! A good news, I didn't lost the whole configuration of the phone.
I only get an error when I try to repair system, /sbin/effect -fp /dev/block/mmcblk0p43 process ended with error: 4
well i tried every thing mentioned above nothing seems to work for me haha of course...
yet again my problem isnt the 32gb storage it says I have 32 but its mostly used (31.25) I deleted a backup that is 6GB and deleted around 1000 files (photos and videos) so thats at least another 3-5 GB if not 10 but lets go with the least!, still it shows in phone settings storage I have used 31.25/32 gb and in TWRP it says I have 2.3GB free and in ES file explorer it says : 21.18/22.57 used
WTF?!!
My galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) was running cm13 for about half a year. Some days ago I let google play update my apps. The result is a bootloop.
I've used the voice recorder to record a lot of notes I need to remember. Is there any way to get those files out from the phones internal storage?
The CWM recovery installed lacks the option to wipe cache / dalvik, which I would hope could get the device out of the bootloop.
When booted into recovery, I've tried adb, but the device is unauthorized.
I think usb debuging was disabled, however, I'm not sure about that.
The ideas I have to solve this are:
1) flash some other recovery that will give an option to wipe cache/dalvik and be able to boot cm13
2) flash some other recovery that will make adb able to pull the files while in recovery mode
3) flash some recovery that is able to copy files from internal storage to sd card
4) factory reset, and hope the files don't get deleted (this is the very last resort)
The thing is that it seems like I'll need to do all installations from SD card via the current CWM recovery. Does anyone know of a suitabel download / howto that can help me get my files off the phone?
If reason for boot loop is Xplore file explorer latest update , uninstall it with developer advices:
http://www.lonelycatgames.com/wiki/xplore/crash_on_cm
I did factory reset twice because of app.
Thank you, Kepsilla. Unless that is an app that is installed with cm13 or gapps, I don't have it installed. But your link gave me hope:
If you have custom recovery on your device (such as TWRP), enter recovery mode, open file manager and delete folder /data/app/com.lonelycatgames.Xplore-1

That means that if I can install TWRP recovery from CWM recovery, I should be able to access the filesystem. That should open up to two possible solutions:
a) Copy my files from internal storage to SD
b) Delete / modify some files to take all apps I've installed from play store will not start automatically.
Does anyone know of a TWRP that would give any of these possibilities and install on a i9100 using CWM?
(I can't really experiment iwht this - I feel the risk of loosing the files is too high. I have to know I'm going the right direction when I do something.)
Solution was very simple: By holding volume down pressed during boot, the device boots into safe mode - no apps started. Then I could just uninstall the apps that were set to autostart. Reboot and problem was solved.
I came across this way to enter safe mode when googling a error message that started to pop up frequently on my S5 mini. S2 with cm13 appears to have the same way to enter safe mode as S5 mini with factory rom.
