Hi.
I'm not a programer or developer, but an Android enthusiast. I am looking for someone to help me (even payed help) to mode a stock firmware (Orange Hiro - Alcatel One Touch 6012 that run Android 4.2.2 ) in a very special and unusual way.
All I want is to block installing any other apk file on the phone, other than the app I will already install as system app into the modded firmware. I know that is possible since some carriers are already doing this (some US based carriers). There are a few ways you can do this, but I think that simply removing "Applications" part from firmware (or making it invisible or unresponsive) will be the easiest way. Sure, ROM stability is a must.
I hope that I have posted this thread on the right section.
Thank you.

Hi.
Edit: User @R_a_z_v_a_n was kind enough to redirect me here so here's my problem.
I really don't know what else to do, if some developer or simply a person with the necessary knowledge i'm sure he (or she) can do it in about 10 minutes, so please please help.
i have a ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini (model NX402) from Venezuela, it came with android 4.2.2 but it lacks a lot of features and it's not well optimized for the hardware it have (similar to Google Nexus 4).
The thing is, when i change the ROM, i end up without signal, no matter the ROM, some user manage it to port the Nubia UI 4.4.2 but it still not well optimized, but his ROM does get signal; he even said in a thread from HTCMania that if any user of this device ends up without signal, just install his ROM and then our signal will be back so, i just need some user with experience to download the rom, extract the network files and made a flashable zip so when i install another ROM like MIUI or Cyanogenmod, i could flash that zip to get signal back.
I don't know if it's hard to do or something but if someone could just give it a shot i'll really appreciate it.
The file containing the network files is https://mega.co.nz/#!6kQnjS4a!1zMwPd...qtvQrU2a6rd81Y

Hey!
I have an Xperia z2 D6503 with bulid number: 23.4.A.1.264
I tried one click root, but it did not work. I found this forum and tried to follow instructions to root my device. The problem is that i can't undersand anything! Flash? bootlock? why downgrades? PRF creator Method?
I have watched a ton of videos, read threds, but I can't understand it
My devices:
- Xperia z2 D6503 - bulid number: 23.4.A.1.264
- Lenovo yoga 3pro - windows 10
Is there a posibillity to get a really simplified method that works whidt my phone and pc? I will be ever gratefull!
You probably aren't reading carefully enough but anyways, lets start by one thing at a time, because you are asking way too many questions.
Flash means to install an android version onto your phone(this usually deletes everything).
Why downgrade? Because in order to root without unlocking your bootloader, you have to go back to an android version that can be rooted. You simply cannot root any version in order to do all the magic, you have to use a specific one.
Prf creator method means basically creating a prerooted android version so that you can actually use the latest android version while keeping root.
Feel free to ask questions BEFORE you actually do anything, so you don't have to fix something

Thanks for an answer! Sorry if I am to spesific or asks about to much. I compleatly understand that it was a lot of questions. Anyways, your answer helped a lot!
I read in one thread that windows 10 was not optimal for rooting my phone? Dose that mean i have to use another pc?
Dose bulid number matter? cause I did not find my bulid number anywhere.
Build number does matter (since it might make the difference between having to downgrade or not) and can be found on options -> phone information (if that is how it is called) or something similar.
Windows 10 is probably not the best choice but you might actually make it. Although I can't really tell you since the pc that I am using, has Windows XP installed... But if it is easy to find another computer (that has Windows 7 or something prior to that), it would most likely make the procedure easier for you.
Hi all,
I recently picked up a used XZ1C with unlocked bootloader (thus nonfunctional camera) and started reading the XDA posts on the topic. Came across the thread on kernel and DRM bypass workaround which I highly appreciate. I wanted to ask few questions specific to my situation. I am not a newbie, had the Z3C and more recently Pixel 2 (much easier for flashing/modding) familiar with Magisk and other tools. No backup of anything (partitions or keys) in case that matters.
Looks like my device might be a USA model (nothing re: fingerprint G8441) and still runs the older firmware (built 47.1.A.12.179 with Android 8.0, see screenshot attached). I plan on using it on T-mobile USA and would like to enable fingerprint (if possible) and keep WiFi calling/VoLTE. Should I load the latest firmware and incorporate steps in this guide or do some other combination due to the existing firmware on the phone?
As far as I know, there is no TWRP recovery loaded, which I can easily do through command prompts. Is that my first step? What would I do next? If you can point me in the right direction, I will gladly read more and download/try things on my own. Thank you for any information anyone can provide.
Use a FTF where fingerprint is working e.g. Central Europe or Deutschland/Germany.
Find a suitable kernel (at least on same Android version level).
My XZ1 (no C) is running on

I think it is better to search an equivalent kernel for the Compact due to the screen drivers.
Hello there.
I've got a new tablet that's not "on the market" right know. It has two models, an old one with Android 7, and a new one with Android 9. Both come from China (obviously) and the OS is made on Portugal I think.
I have all the specs and also the stock rom for both of them. I can also get in the recovery mode and that stuff. I'd like to know if I can, somehow, have root access to these, using the stock rom or something. Of course I've tried the automatic rom stuff like Kingo and similar.
I can share specs and CPU-Z info if it's needed.
Edit: I don't know if this helps, but I'd only need to have root access from a certain app. Perhaps I can set it as system app editing the ROM?
Thanks! And sorry for my robotlike english level.

HIT THANKS IF FOUND USEFUL
Hi
I have an old Mobiwire Rise 33 phone by Orange currently unused.
I wanted to know if it can be rooted to install LineageOS or /e/. I would like to use it as a data collecting terminal. The actual OS is quite buggy and unusable.
Here are the complete technical specifications.

Please post in the proper section. The rules are located on the bottom of the page I have moved your post to q/a for you.
Thank you,

@M-Rick
This is a low-end phone. IMHO it doesn't make sense to replace its stock Android 7 by another ROM.
IIRC the only compelling feature that make LineageOS different from stock Nougat is fact that you get the latest version of Android even if the 2-years update support by your OEM / Carrier is done.
But of course you can try to root its Android by means of Chainfire's SuperSu. You flash its ZIP by means of your phone's stock recovery -> adb sideload.
