Calling all Note 2 Gurus, Wifi Issue with Safestrap - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello all, so here's the issue.... Since we have safestarp working (except for rom slots) I have been trying out all the awesome roms available. Well all throughout my testing there is one common denominator and that is I cannot toggle wifi on. If I restore back to my backup of nd7 wifi and all is fine but as soon as I flash a rom through safestrap its a no go. For the record I have tried R3Ds Port Rom and DN3 with full wipe and format before each install. The only ROM I was able to get wifi connected on was Alliance Rom so far, but I really like some of the features of the other two. So can someone offer some help or maybe point me in the right direction because in the threads for the individual roms they say to flash a kernel to fix but that isn't possible in safestrap (as far as I know). Thanks in advance guys!

[Q] Wi-Fi Direct not detecting

I am having the worst of luck finding any answers on getting my Wi-Fi Direct to work with several ROMs. I use to use this feature on a daily basis, but for a while now I haven't been able to find a way to fix it either through build.prop or flashing a handy zip fix. I have covered all the troubleshooting basics (same WiFi on both devices, Bluetooth refresh/resync, etc...)
If anyone has any tips or advice, I am willing to try anything to get this to work.
Currently:
At&t i717 (quincy) on cm10.1 4.2.1 freshly installed ---> not only BC its awesome, but to see if it would fix it.
*I have also tried latest PAranoid ROM and official CM10 4.1.2 ROM
Thanks in advance for any help.

which ROM should I use?

Hi all,
I'm currently using the stock firmware 4.2.2 and I don't have any problem yet, it seems fast and everything but I heard custom rom are usually faster.
I have checked a few roms and I'd like to try them but what I usually see when trying to decide what rom to install is that features that are improved are usually listed but there's not a list of things that don't work or don't work as good we in the stock firmware.
For example, it seems like some rom have problems with gps, other with audio, some with wireless.
There are two roms I would like to choose from
-HTC OneX+ INTER CM10.2 (4.3) Nightlies & M1
and
-CarbonRom UNOFFICIAL JB 4.3.1 - 2013_11_11
which one would you advise? and what problems do they have?
is it there something else that you would advise me to install instead?
Thank you
What ROM to use is very subjective and really varies user by user. The best way to get information is to start reading the ROM threads and then when you have enough information flash it and see if it works for you.

[Q] Signal issue on KitKat

Hey I flashed CyanFox 2.0.2 (CM11 / KitKat 4.4.2 based) and I've been experiencing constant signal issues.
One moment I have full bars and the next no signal at all. It happens randomly: during calls, while tethering, when on stand by.
I've tried different basebands / modems (MS1, MS2, MS4) but I couldn't find a fix.
Any ideas? I can always go back to stock JB but I really dig this KK rom, it's almost flawless otherwise.
Thanks
Make a backup of kitkat rom and try stock rom or some other rom stock rom is in my signature included stock kernel and modem. If it is working then its not a hardware problem then try maybe some other kitkat rom.
The link to stockrom in my signature is from xwms1 but i dont know or the moden works in every country

Did you check out calling anyone or receiving a call? Maybe its just the icon problem.......
In the end I flashed a stock 4.1.2 rom and the problem persisted, so I guess this is a hardware issue.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I had the exact same experience with my wife's phone that I bought of ebay. I even flashed a variety of RIL's (radio interface layers) and different modems. I'd never had the problem with my SGS3 before, and have hundred of different roms on it.
Anyway it seemed to be a kernel issue and after trying ever combination possible I found that wifi would always work perfectly on any stock based rom or any CM based rom (assuming that hey used the CM kernel). It wouldn't even work on a CM rom if I flashed a different kernel such as Yank's, Boeffla or Googy.
Also at the time I trawled the net looking for answers and found one or two others that had the same issue, but could still use stock Sammy or CM. Strange... almost felt like it was an odd batch.

Galaxy Light CM12 Rom

Hello everyone! I have recently install the CM12 ROM for my galaxy light and everything seems to be working. The only major issue is that the calling doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this or where i go into the files of the ROM to fix it? Thanks for your time.
Because CM12 is still in "nightly" stages that also means it is not stable and there is no direct support. There will be bugs and the only thing you can do is either flash the latest nightlies and hope it works or flash a completely different rom. Fixing calling is not something you can do on your phone.
Thank you
