Hi all. I don't know if any of you have experience any lag in some games as I do. My z ultra plays some games without lag but this tablet has a better processor and it lags where my z ultra doesn't. I don't know if it is software related or not and if it is i can only hope is fix for lollipop because this tablet supposed to be better than the z ultra and so far I don't know.
I experience lag in game play occassionally as well, especially really graphically intensive games like real racing 3. Takes a little bit longer to load the game up than say the ipad air 2 or nexus 9. But even during game play, because of the lower frame rates, playing games isnt so smooth. Its not unplayable and if I had never played the game on the air 2, i would have never felt that it was not so smooth.
The 801 snapdragon isnt really meant for heavy game play.

no lag at all.. only i use it for play COC .. LOL
I own xperia z ultra and can tell you that there are some games on which there is some lag on the Z3TC compare to the ultra.

Hey guys/girls! So basically i had the Galaxy Note for some time now and really enjoyed the experience, however sold the Note in order to start saving up for a new phone. So i got around $475 and will be able to save up some more for a new phone. Here is what i want to know:
Should i go for the Xperia S or Galaxy Nexus? [Note: Looking for good lag free performance and good gaming performance]
If you recommend this please give your insight on the outdated hardware and whether the Adreno 220 GPU and the Snapdragon S3 CPU are will be able to cope up with the new demands of the future. If you own an Xperia S then please tell me how games like NOVA 3 work and wheter you face any lag or hicups in usage? Also please tell me about the ICS performance and does it make a large difference?
I have tested many games on my Xperia S and before starting anything, I just alert you that I have never played games on mobile phones before; so this is my first experience with mobile games. I always played PS3 and 360 so I am fond of console type performance maybe which is not available on ANY other mobile phone, I dont know.
HD Games which run very smooth on my device is: Asphalt 6 (I don't feel great graphics as in videos though, is it only me?), Shadowgun, Need for speed Hot Pursuit, Virtua Tennis, Adventure of Tintin, Samurai Vengeance, Battlefield 2, PES 2012(Haven't tested fifa 12) and Max Payne.
Now games which I feel does not work good: Modern combat 3 - I feel it lags or maybe low framerate, Ultimate Spiderman - not good graphics, Dead Trigger (This game only has problem with some Xperia S - probably will be fixed soon), GTA 3 - Lags sometimes.
The most interesting point is recently I downloaded Dark Knight Rises which is not available in play store, and made by same Gameloft as Ultimate Spiderman and it works VERY great. High graphics and good gameplay. Then why did they don't enable high graphics for Ultimate Spiderman ? - If we try to do this manually to enable high graphics on Spiderman, it does not work smooth
The point is I don't think our device is not capable of these games, but how developer make it compatible. When I was purchasing this mobile I know I would find some problems with the device in terms of gaming but I want a better phone overall i.e Unique Design, performance.
You won't get THD games, like Shadowgun THD, Fruit Ninja THD, in Dead Trigger some effects would be disabled. Some game devs make games high definition games for Tegra Devices only - you can search play store for THD.
Also you can see Youtube, players playing THD games with THD graphics on there adreno phones. You need to search on google for finding THD games for all devices apk though. See this video, Dead Trigger works with Tegra graphics on Xperia S. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDZN0dV-RJU (Game dev will not gurantee smoothness for this if you play THD games on Xperia S lol)
So in conclusion, if you only want Gaming Device get Galaxy S3, S2 or maybe HTC One X. S2 was most popular phone so most probably games are already tested on S2. But If you are willing to play games on your console and PC and in spare time on Mobile then I would recommend Xperia S - No Phone can compete with our LED Bar

yeah, SONY XPERIA S has a very poor graphic CARD sadly, you can only play all games on low graphics.
But next time you know when you buy a PHONE just check the graphic card(all games on iPhone 4 are above XSX on graphics..an SXS has a better graphic card).
So there is nothing I can do?
Changing Rom and kernel will do any good in that case?

Obviously the "best" phone is a matter of opinion. Those games need a lot of memory and processing power. I'd recommend playing a high frame rate racing game like Need For Speed. Racing games have a lot of frames to render per second since its constantly moving.
I'd get at least a phone with a quad-core processor, and 2GB of memory. . . AT LEAST that much. Since your not a Samsung fan (like myself), I'd recommend the LG Optimus G, which I'm biased to because I own it. I own all the games listed above and NOT ONCE, have I had frame rate issues, glitches, or stutters.
I currently have a huawei P6. I know this phone is a lot more powerful but gaming performance is awful due to the crappy GPU, can someone tell me how sonic dash, 8 ball pool and San Andreas run on S2? Cause on the P6 it starts lagging after a couple of minutes

Well I don't know about any of those games, but I'm running a PS1 emulator that has to access 400mb+ sized game Isos......which it does without noticeable lag.....I do have mine craft and temple run installed and they run without lag too.......
This might be my S2 or it might be my W, but it's definitely CM...
I think san andreas did lag a little but wasn't unplayable, so all those games are pretty playable on S2, P6 should be able to play them too, there might be a problem with your device.

I haven't played longer than 30mins straight, haven't had the time yet. After 30mins it was warmer than usual, but far from uncomfortable. I'll try to game for 1 hour straight tomorrow, to see if it gets uncomfortable.
Edit: gaming 1hour straight doesn't make it warmer than gaming for 30mins.
i try play mortal Kombat X while connecting my device to my tv using connector.it looks extremely amazing,like you are play in a ps4,the graphics,the details,the performance ,all great .hope everyone check this game while connecting using EMUI desktop feature

I played battle bay for 43 minutes, i dont think it goes hotter than my old s8 or my meizu pro 7,
It still comfortable enough to hold.
I use my Mate 10 primarily as my gaming machine now to play Mobile Legends and Arena Of Valor. I can play like 2 games of 20 minutes each on average for 10% battery reduction. Resolution set to QHD and highest quality graphics. It never gets too warm to hold. Gaming performance is superb. Sound is excellent. One major problem is that video overlay for Skype and FB Messenger doesn't seem to work so I can't video chat with my team mates while playing. I can only voice chat. Still trying to find a solution other than use my other phone for video chatting and wifi connect to it with my Mate 10.
I only play Sonic forces, but I get stutters and low fps all the time. It is so annoying. First I thought it's the app but it never does that on my iPad... It is super smooth there surely 60fps. On my mate 10 pro it feels like 30fps at best sometimes dropping to 15/10. I also ran the phone maintenance thing and close all apps... Same thing happening.
Any ideas?

Same here,every single game has stuttering even clash royale but on the other hand the phone has stuttering all the time.Any ideas how to fix this?

im experiencing same issue...came form a xperia device XZ with SD820 and noticed that mate 10 pro is not a good performer when it comes to games...neither was xperia XZ.but now i see that revievs on YT are probably fake.i contacted service centre live chat they replied me if i removed all the apps in the background...u ask a gamer that kind of question FFS.of course i did and it and it still stutters ,low fps and so on..im playing Guns of boom and i also tried asphalt 8...and man it works bad.im gonna go to service centre and test it my device with there device and see if its the same...if it is then its my first and last Huawei device...if u want a good game performer grab a iphone or galaxy s device PERIOD

Let us know what happens.
I grabbed a OnePlus 5 and that thing is half the price and wipes the floor with the mate 10 when it comes to smoothness and performance specially in gaming
witch firmware are you on? i noticed low performance on 129 but on 131 it's good.
Can't get mekorama to play smoothly... Stutters like crazy.. Only game I've had really noticeable issues with....
i still dont get 131 firmware the curent one that i have is 129 and its horible to play games on...i would go to service centre but i have very bad experience with them(when i had sgs7)i think they will try to make me look like a fool again but anyway when i get time i will go and ask for a side by side test to see if there device is any better then mine. thanks for sharing info guys...

Mate 10 cant run "into the dead 2" smooth
I have compared it with s8 and diffrence was a lot
S8 was clear and smooth and no fps drops but mate 10 did ****
I gonne sell it just now after 2 days use
mate 10 pro on 129 runs everything smooth and fast for me...shadow fight 3 for example runs liquid smooth and several other games, with HD graphics and also lower graphics, all run fine..

im asking myself if ppl even know what smooth experience is...im not judgeing u or anything but i have a feeling that u maybe dont see it well OR ur device is flawlees like ur saying...this is making me nuts a little bit so im gonna see with waranty guys what will they say about it. my device definetly cant handle any game u throw at it...for example asphalt 8 works probably around 20-40 fps very slugish and also i play guns of boom a 3d shooter games and it works smoothly at firs 3-5mins but then after every few minutes the perfomance only goes down and down to a point u cant play a game anymore...definetly cpu throtlin...but i have a feeling that at waranty service they will say that is everything normal with the device, just like they did at Sony when i had xperia phones.BUT i have learned from the past mistakes and they wont get me again...i know my rights
