Hi!
I received my HTC Hero on thursday. I have some trouble getting a stable 3G / HSPA connection with my local providers over here in Germany (tested with E-Plus and O2). It falls back to EDGE or even GPRS quite often although my old Nokia E51 has a strong stable signal (all 6 of 6 bars for signal quality).
I also had trouble connecting to an open unsecured WLAN.
Is anyone else experiencing such problems (hopefully not)? If so, I just got a defective unit...
Any hints appreciated. Did find anything via Google yet. Probably because it has just been released.
Best regards, cos
Yes I've been having problems too. I have noticed a weaker reception I most areas - signal strength drops from 3 out of 4 to 1 out of 4 for no apparent reason - in weak signal areas I lose signal completely - wifi cuts in and out at home.
I'd also appreciate hints - HTC asked me to do a system reset which I'm reluctant to do becuase I don't believe it will solve anything.
Using SimFree HTC Hero on the Orange Network(UK). (I've tried 2 & 3G - I've tried O2 simcard)
**UPDATE**
Did a system reset - no difference
Sent phone to seller who compared it with other units- same signal strength
Took it to an Orange Shop where they had a signal booster which should have given me full signal - I got 3 bars.
Hopeful for a software update
Hi!
I have my Xperia S for about 3 months now (12w07, currently on FW .73), and I am 100% on original firmware, never rooted or flashed, never installed "pirated" software.
The problem:
My number is out of reach. Although the phone operates COMPLETELY normally (even receiving e-mail via wifi works, programs run smoothly), although the signal bars show FULL signal strength, signal reception & transmition do not work at all. When being called, it reacts EXACTLY as if I was in a NO signal area (the operator says unreachable, not switched off). This will continue until I restart the phone, otherwise the signal never comes back! Today, which was the second time that this happened to me, I was of-network for approximately 4+ hours! Darn!
Anyone else experienced this?
FYI, my SIM is an original MicroSIM, not a cut one...
Check your SIM, might be something wrong with that.
In ICS\JB,
Carrier (Airtel in my case) goes down when phone is locked and kept aside and I'm not receiving calls or SMS for that duration of lock period.
Also, while a caller calls me, my mobile carrier says nothing about the status(Like not reachable or switched off) and their call is getting cut abruptly.
Battery usage clearly the showed that phone was searching for signal during lock period which results in drop down of battery performance as well.
No solutions expect for *#*#4636*#*# --> Under Phone settings --> GSM only.
But I'm using 3G Data for browsing where if I switched to GSM\WCDMA same problem heads up suddenly.
Is ther some one experiencing such problem through this month?.
I'm on GB now, and signal problem is not much as now compared to ICS\JB.
Though Data connections are a beamer now in GB . It's not connecting like how it used to be.
I have tested different SIM cards in my Neo v and the problem is same.
Haven't tried a different carrier though..
Any troubleshooting\solutions are much appreciated.
I did some searches on this and I can't find anything on this.
I've just noticed that my phone is stuck on 'H' signal, it can scale up to H+ as normal but as soon as the data has finished transmitting it will go back to 3G for a split second before returning to H and staying there. This has happened for a few days. I've noticed that my phone is getting unbearably hot (with a UV CPU and GPU, fully tested, stable) and my battery life is awful.
I've now gone back to a completely stock system, ODIN reflashed the GMK6 update (stock recovery, kernel, modem and ROM - ROM was always stock anyway) and the problem still persists.
I'm going to phone my network in the morning to see if they've done anything in the area or if anyone else is reporting the issue but has anyone else ever witnessed symptoms like this?
More background: I've recently tried ArchiPort 4.4 before going back to stock and I've been using the Devil2 kernel for more than 9 months. In the UK on the Three network, which is 3G only, no 2G.
Hello all,
I started to have some problems with signal strength.
It's not ROM-related (currently the newest CrDroid).
If I cut my WiFi and set the phone to prefer LTE signal sometimes I'm not able to use data. It's constantly switching between LTE / LTE+.
Sometimes it will connect and it's fine but most of the time it isn't.
It only happens in places when the signal is poor.
If I set the phone to prefer 3G it works perfectly normal.
My gf got the same phone and didn't experience that issue.
I believe that for some time after I received this phone it worked normally.
Maybe it's firmware related issue?
I heard about an issue with the poor signal on this phone...
Thank You in the advance for your answers.
